El's Gourmet in Leeds

Everything was on point, flavoursome and excellent customer service. Chicken and beef burgers were delicious well seasoned. We also had the carrot cake which topped it all off very nice. Definitely recommend this place will be back again very soon.

Having explored the review section of El’s gourmet leeds we were excited to try for ourselves and our experience exceeded all expectations! The service, food and pesto mayo were unforgettable - everyone needs to try the halloum’el burger! 11/10 recommend - we’ll be back in June!

Me and my partner entered the premises on a Thursday evening, we were the only ones at that time. The server had this negative attitude telling us to order quickly as he has 14x takeaway orders later scheduled. I believe the server was the only staff there and he was also the cook. We ordered the burger plus fries and also the double chicken steak. The chicken steak wasn’t a steak but shredded chicken of a chicken breast. It was sooo salty. The burger was also very salted We spent over £30 and left the food half eaten. The experience from entering the premises to actually eating the food was poor.

After a stressful journey to make a very important meeting, it’s safe to say I was beyond stressed and on the verge of tears! The weather was horrendous and was about ready to explode. We stumbled across this little cafe called Els Gourmet and wow!! The most delicious hot chocolate and latte, fantastic friendly and ever so welcoming staff greeted us. Such a relaxing atmosphere with nice music on in the background. The whole experience really did help me chill out before continuing with my day.

Food was nice, especially dessert and big portions for price. Service couldn’t be better and was perfect. Very helpful, polite and welcoming however atmosphere wasn’t crowded and fast service and relaxing atmosphere. Very surprised at how cheap the price turned out to be for 2 people, amazing price and a lovely touch to be given a free dessert after our meal. Would recommend highly.

Visited last night with a couple of friends. Had just missed the rush so it was quiet and not much atmosphere but that meant the staff were really attentive and the food came out quick and hot. Burger and seasoned chips were really good, definitely up there with best in Leeds. I had the Hot Buffalo burger I think it was called which was excellent. Manager was really friendly and allowed me a taste of one of their fantastic cheesecakes. Thank you, I will be back

Bit of a strange venue, looks more like a coffee shop with lots of amazing looking cakes in the glass counter, nice milkshakes on the menu etc but they do really good burgers which is a surprise, hot, juicy, full of flavour. Recommend the Heated Buff'el burger but there is lots of choice. Staff really friendly as well They don't have a license for alcohol, which isn't an issue but worth pointing out

I had the Juicy Lucy and it was the best burger I have ever had. So succulent and tasty. The milkshake and dessert were outstanding as well! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quality meal in Leeds.

Very fast service. Waiting staff were so polite and attended to our needs. The owner Ahmed, was in that day and was the nicest! The atmosphere was very calm and just suits what the business stands for! Made my entire week here in leeds definitely a place to visit when in Leeds. Halal aswell

Came in before a gig on tuesday night, it was empty so i wasnt sure how it was going to be. Turned out to have great food and friendly server. Milkshakes are good too

So disappointed with the food here.. was expecting great things given all the 4/5 star reviews!! We ordered 2 burgers, chips and cheese, onion rings and a slice of carrot cake to take out. The burgers were rock hard, like they’d been cooked and then cooked again later, they were burnt to a crisp but freezing cold. Granted we ordered take away but we live 5 mins away and were in the car with heating on full blast. There was also far too much sauce on the burger which didn’t taste nice..The chips were also cold, re fried and rock hard, and tiny portion for the price!! But the onion rings were good. The carrot cake was also good, but it’s from Costco so it’s gonna be! Overall, real disappointed. Can’t even make allowances for them being rushed off their feet.. Saturday night almost 7pm and the place was dead. The food was overpriced and of really poor quality. Don’t know who is writing the reviews for them but take no notice of the great reviews! Much better places to eat in that area. Avoid this one.

Just had the juicy Lucy and sweet potato fries and I can wholeheartedly say this was one of the most succulent burgers I've ever tasted and amazing value for my money, on top of this the customer service from the staff was excellent and I felt well taken care of from the moment I walked in to Leaving!! I will 100% be returning to el gourmet and would recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food and service.

Had a week long training course in Leeds so was looking for nice places to have dinner after work… I discovered this place on the last day but boy do wish I went hear first… the reason being that it wasn’t the most close to where I was, but I wish I looked further from the outset, because there is an endless choice of burger options, which I had an excellent sample of.. one of the best burgers I’ve tried in a while! Also, has a range of unique drinks.. I tried the rose lemonade which was beautiful having never tried such a drink before!

Good place to chill eat and have a cake or a coffee definitely recommend.

If you want to have a very good choice of burgers and super delicious finger food, you have to go here. Service was quick, attentive, atmosphere is cozy. Much more than decent Burger Bar. And their coffee is also worth a visit.

Walked in on a day where they were not supposed to be doing normal service, but we was welcomed in regardless by a very friendly gentleman. We ordered burgers and was given extra cheese which was a nice touch. Afterwards he gave us some free cake to try which was delicious, perfect amount of light and fluffy. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for burgers or some homemade good cake.

Came because of the good reviews and can honestly say one of the best burgers ive ever had. Me and my sister ordered 2 juicy lucys one beef and another southern chicken which were both delicious! We also got the chilli cheese fries which were also really good. The owner was super lovely and attentive and even gave us a bigger portion due to a slightly longer wait. 10/10 will deffo come back :)

We LOVE coming here for late night cakes! They never disappoint and always hit the spot. They’re almost as good as the super friendly and approachable owner’s trademark red bucket hat- we love El’s!! Definitely come here to try it out. Haven’t had the burgers yet but I’ve also heard from friends that they are the best in Leeds!

This was a really cool burger restaurant! We had 2 veggie burgers - it was great that any of the burgers could be made veggie. There were loads of flavour options and the veggie pattie was a homemade potato-based pattie. It was deliciously light and fluffy!!

I was expecting something amazing due to all the 4 and 5 star reviews but now that I've experienced it I feel like it's nothing more than a cash grab. You pay for a burger which is quite small, more like a large slider, then if you want chips you pay again, then if you want a drink you pay again and if you want a side you pay again, if you had a full meal then you would be paying minimum £20-25 per person so the value here isn't great. Me and my friend were the only ones there (now I know why) and had to wait a very long time for 2 burgers which was £10 each (JUST A BURGER) when it arrived it was lukewarm at best. We ended up in McDonald's after as we were still very hungry. Atmosphere is great though.

Absolutely gorgeous food at this place, bbq chicken tenders are out of this world, burgers and fries, amazing! Chicken stakes, mwahh! Lovely stuff would highly recommend, top service, polite great guy, get down there to find out or miss out!

Stopped by last night on a visit to Leeds with my wife and the food was excellent along with the service and the staff were very polite and helpful. Will definitely be visiting again when we visit Leeds again. The deserts were fantastic as well!!!!

First time trying this place, first impressions: the staff are super welcoming and have such a good attitude. The atmosphere and place is brilliant. Best food I’ve eaten in a long time. Timing was great and the food arrived hot and was full of flavour. Definitely recommend this place to come to if you are looking for a place to eat in Leeds, worth your money :)

Really loved this place! Went during Ramadhan and I forgot to leave a review. The burgers are some of the best we've ever had, but the service is what makes them shine! So accommodating and kind. We wanted to pre order so that the food would be ready by the time we broke our fast, I didn't even have to mention fasting to the worker who answered the phone but he knew and immediately said they would have the food on the table for the correct time. They also made room for us to pray in a little hallway even though it blocked their way from the kitchen to the main desk, and I didn't realise until after that they turned down the music while we prayed. It was incredibly kind of them to make it all so smooth for us when they really didn't have to. We appreciated the whole experience and will be going back very soon 😊

Decided on trying this place a couple of weeks ago after a google search for halal burgers in Leeds, was very impressed! Nice decor, great personal service and most importantly a completely passionate team making and serving food which they know and care about. Clearly they have considered their menu and ingredients painstakingly. The beef was lean but tender & juicy, the brioche bun was like no other I’ve ever had anywhere - golden and fluffy. The chips were good quality too. I plumped for a cake after and although I imagined they would be standard fare, it also was a cut above the norm. Clearly the customers knew this as several people walking past dropped in to take away a slice. After eating I was able to talk with the guys who run it and it became clear this place takes serious pride in making good quality food. Hope to return when I next am in the area and need a bite to eat!

Terrible experience no flavour in the burgers, waste of money and very expensive. Never been so disappointed in my life. Came away still hungry had to go elsewhere. Don’t mind paying money for good food but was left terribly disappointed.
