Charcoal Chicken in Leeds

An old skool place that I find great for a lunch with work mates. They have great skewered chicken kebabs and awesome fresh Nan. But the best thing is the tea that they serve at the end of the meal, it puts a huge smile on my face everytime!

Ordered online. 3 different varieties of burgers. Up all night with food poisoning. Avoid like the plague unless you have a stomach made of steel🤮

Too much Peper and spice in food, I couldn’t taste the food properly

Very quiet atmosphere service 10 and the food is super delicious the chicken I recommend it delicious and the rice too and the burger and if you like pucante much better

Ordered a chicken burger which wasn't cooked just it was rubbish

Had an uber eats delivery from here a few weeks ago. Took ages to come and their delivery driver practically threw it at me. Food was cold! Just ordered again this evening and never came. Called the shop and they said they went to the wrong the house. Heard them in the background saying it's not worth them delivering as I'm too far so they cancelled my order. Shambles!

I haven't been for years, possibly more than 10 but it's pretty much the same, which is good because it shows they're still doing well. Obviously prices have increased but the menu is similar to what it was. I saw the owner who I recognised from before, just looks slightly older so life must be good! Food was served quickly, bought over to us along with cutlery and condiments. Football matches on the big TV really seemed to entertain customers as well. All in all a nice visit and good to see a local business thriving.

Chicken wings were excellent really tasty, in fact tastier than other places, staff welcoming and quick service, plenty of tables to eat at, thank you for our delicious meals on Saturday gone

Terrible. Don’t bother. How hard is it to put garlic sauce and chips in a wrap with meat? Apparently impossible. Who in the history of man wanted mint sauce with Donner meat? If you just used the 5 brain cells you had between 4 or you, at least one of us might’ve had a meal we asked for. Idiots.

Awful food. Give you completely different to what you ordered. Not helpful at all when you take it back

Had the beef and chips and salad and with the meal deal you get pita bread can of pop sauce s VERY VERY NICE YOU MUST TRY and a good price for all you get definitely be going back for more

The steak is not steak, chips, and salad as expected. It's steak that has been cut into strips and cooked with various mixed vegetables that aren't mentioned on the menu and heavy asian seasoning; again, it is not mentioned on the menu. I thought I had ordered a nice grilled sirloin steak, so for what is offered, that makes it heavily overpriced. There was a huge lump of green tomato stalk in it, absolutely loads of peppers, which I am allergic to and, again, aren't mentioned and lots and lots of onions. I ordered a hawaain burger, and it arrived absolutely full of enormously chopped raw onions, which is not acceptable again, as if someone with allergies were to eat it, they could end up sick or in hospital. Please, for goodness sake, sell what is advertised on the menu and don't add to that. Allergies are not things to be played around with. Lastly, I was embarrassed for the salad. They could not have found a smaller container if they tried. It was an insult to a salad. About two mouthfuls and, unfortunately, yet again, full of large lumps of raw onion of all different shapes and sizes. Please, if you want to use onion, then train your chef to pay attention and use some level of care in cutting things straight and thin. No one wants to eat huge hunks of raw onion

I went in and ordered a meal and added a portion of rice to it for an extra £2.20. What I got was less than half of a small container and when I called in to let them know, the guy I spoke to was rude and hung up. If it was chicken that required a lot of spices n attention I would understand the costing. However rice???? That is just ridiculous 🙄

I think I’ll stick to grill chicken. Curry’s are tasteless.

I ordered my food through UberEats and my food took 3 hours to arrive. I called the restaurant 4 times and all times they said ‘it’s out for delivery and it will take 5 minutes’, but it literally never came. Avoid this place at all costs when ordering and extremely horrible service.

I went in after ages. To be honest was very disappointed with food. Evry1 has there own taste buds. But this visit defo wasn't for me to remember. Staff is friendly but service defo can be improved.

Very late, rang us last minute to tell us they don't deliver to my address even though it says they do on just eat. He wanted to charge extra too. He also couldn't find the address even though the postcode was provided, terrible service and won't be ordering from here again! Also wanted to charge us extra to come to our house and refused a refund

Have not been here for over 10 years. I was glad to find the chicken is still exactly the same. Chapli kebabs were a bit dry but other than that was worth the visit.

Good food. Take a while to prepare which is good as you know it is fresh. However it use to taste far better 15 years ago.

Good food…been coming here for years ….however on 2 separate occasions iv found human hair in the chicken 🤮🤮🤮🤮….. Which now put off totally and won’t be returning unfortunately ….

Me and my wife use this place most weeks. My only gripes are the £1.50 delivery charge despite spending often £15-20 or more a time. It would also be nice to see some more regular items available (currys are so expensive that I have never bothered trying one and there are no chicken/mixed regular kekbabs, all nan kebabs). But the chicken wings are nice. The food is also sometimes a bit cold. Not good when you are less than half a mile away. Honestly, if I found a place that sold as good chicken wings then I would use them instead. But it would be nicer to see this place rise to the challenge and improve it's game so I can give them a 5 star.

Beef strips were beautiful. I am fed up of cold, awful takeaways and have stopped ordering as much as I used to. I think I may have found my new favourite place thanks to this place, the beef steak strips were cooked beautifully, tastes amazing. £10 for a decent takeaway. Such a reasonable price. Thanks guys! Quick delivery ordered via deliveroo. Also, there was more food than the photo but I ate some.

We ordered food and it smelt amazing. Then we saw 2 rats running around in the back. The staff quickly tried to close the door so we didn’t see. About like the plague. Also seen plenty of posts about the drivers been a bit Jimmy saville

I did not want to write this one but l have to otherwise l will call and swear its few years we are regularly order food from there in the first time it was coming early on time sometime is weekend l do accept to be late but when l call and its in week days like is Wednesday today its been 1 and half hour still not come my food and when l call 30 minute ago its on way to 5 minutes you can't do that to me cos l run restaurant and last 25 years and we do delivery as well don't lie costumers it's my last order from this place can you date and time when l order and when its cone its 18 .08.2021 l did order my food 20.37 and now is 22.07 still not come not me my family and anyone l know won't order from there anymore

I Had chicken wings and fries all cooked from fresh also fresh naan and salad yoghurt it was a little bit pricey but pretty tasty

Terrible service, over priced and appalling food. I'm not sure how these guy's are even in business. The place smells and doesn't look clean. The chicken was dry, burnt and tasteless. The beef tasted weird. Top tier one of the worst takeaway's in the area. Don't waste your money.

Visited last night. We had a couple of curries & burgers. Curries were nice especially the staff handi. Burgers were ok. The chicken better than the house special. Beef Pattie a bit cold. Fairly priced. Extra star given to balance out some negative reviews. Not great location. They have some flats upstairs & a bit cramped. Would go again if I was passing by.

Steamed chicken, grilled then just chilli sauce thrown on top. Wasn't all that especially considering price. Very expensive I thought.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Awful food. Poor value. Terrible customer service. The chicken had more bone in than meat. It was a grey mess of congealed ‘stuff’. Sloppy, unappetising, bland, and completely underwhelming. A 30p tin of soup would be more filling, flavoursome and nutritious than the turd in a carton I was served up. If I could give it less than 1/5 then I would.

I was waiting to be served and I felt I was being ignored,I waited for about 5 mins,but when a girl came in 3 if them stumbled to serve her,the next day I felt so ill, I wont be going there again,if there was a minus point thats what I'd put

Ordered full chicken meal with salad and nan while I waited in shop . Chicken was cooked perfectly and nan and salad were good . Haven't been to this shop in a while and prices seem to have shot up which was only dissapointment. Would still recomend as food was nice.

if you want full chicken cooked on a rottiserie then this is the only place to use in harehills but its true about the staff looking lazy ,but then again to be fair everybody who was working in all the shops I went in looked laid back around the area

The food even after requested on how I wanted it,wasn’t cooked to the texture I had ask,turned up 30 mins early,so I presume the food was cooked before hand and just rewarmed and sent to me,when I rang the restaurant up the person on the other end wanted to know what the problem was but wasn’t in no hurry to address the issue then the owner/manager wasn’t in he was out how convienent,don’t be wasting your money if you want good quality food. Bland horrible food personally I won’t be ringing them again.

Beautiful food but forgot my nan bread for the chicken!! Called resturant as soon as i got the food said they would send someone out with it, its been half an hour still no nan bread!!.and weve eaten everything now

Did not like my chicken burger to spicy.

I preordered to arrive for 8:30 as I was due to get home from work at 8. At 7:40 I received two missed calls as I was finishing up at work but I was unable to call it back due to it being a blocked number. turns out it was the delivery guy calling me from my house 50 minutes early. He got one of my neighbours to let him into the building and left my bag of food outside my door. the food was still slightly warm when I arrived home so I ate it anyway mostly because I was very hungry and didn’t want to wait for them to redeliver. . it was decent, just not hot. I recommend not doing pre orders for this takeaway.

we went with family and first I noticed the baby chair had piece of chicken in it wasn’t cleaned and juice spilt under table staff looked lazy as ever my girls looked at menu and wanted meal 4 as they wer chicken fillet burgers when they came with food they wer burnt buns with grilled chicken when we told staff they said this the only chicken they do for burgers we told them they shouldn’t miss advertise their food this was the first and last time we are going to this place absolutely I wouldn’t even bother rating it 1*

They sent the order wrong and missed both drinks that we ordered, on top of that they didn’t inform us of the products they didn’t have which we ordered but still accepted and sent the orders, then we had to wait over 30 mins to get our missing products so will never be ordering from this place again

Food is shocking, overpriced and small portions and menu is deceptive. Gourmet burgers we're nowhere near. Paid £23 for a meal I wouldn't feed a dog. Delivery driver hung up while I was in the middle of speaking. Absolutely dreadful waste of money. Who do I speak to about a refund?

Really like the popcorn chicken the chicken grilled steak burger taste was good but the steak itself was quite hard like it had been grilled more than once but other than that tasty food

I was really let down by the food today, my onion rings Burnt they were awful and such a small portion of chips and cheese for the price & the chicken wings were a mess off the bone squirted with bbq sauce you definitely did not marinate it in bbq sauce

No sauce arrived even though we ordered it with the kebab. It arrived late and was cold with water in the bag. Not enough meat in lamb kebab. We used to enjoy the naan kebabs. Not anymore

For not the first time, the driver was not able to find my flat. He called me and even when I explained my location, he could not follow my instructions properly and so I had to go out to meet him to pick the food up. Due to the time involved,, the food was less than piping hot when I eventually got it.

Best donner meat I've had, chips very good, chicken tikka wrap was unreal. Mint sauce slightly spicy was great too. Will order again.

Fyi i order from here all the time, or did. I don't know whats happened tonight but I got a Rubicon instead of lassi with no phone call, the chops I normally order were literally mush, like boiled to mush, I asked for a resend and the sent more in good time, same again. The chilli sauce was super salty and the onions tasted wet and old. I've been ordering from here often for years, game over man. Hasbolutely dort!

I don’t live in Leeds anymore but when I visit I always make a point of coming here for the lamb chops. They are quite simply the best anywhere and I have travelled a lot. They are incredibly tender and grilled to perfection. They really do melt in the mouth. The spices are also out of this world. I have brought many friends here and they all agree. These chops have become my benchmark, whenever I try other ones I always compare them to here. The place is basic, nothing fancy but if you want great food - the chicken is also very good - at a great price then give this Harehills a try.

Knew that there was something wrong with the taste of. The lamb dish I ordered, and after reading the Yorkshire evening post article it proved my worst fear! Just google Yorkshire evening post charcoal chicken, the con artists have been fined by the courts for selling beef as lamb just to increase profits!! Not a happy customer, deffo not going there again!
