Ellendens Farmhouse Kitchen in Wychavon

You walk through the farm shop to the restaurant/cafe at the back of the building. Had a slight mix up with the reservation I made, but a table in a quiet area was available at the time we arrived so no drama really. Very busy with only a couple of tables free inside so would advise booking. Great looking menu, I chose the homemade lasagne and my wife selected the bacon and brie baguette which you order at the counter. I was told as it is busy, the food may take 20 mins to come out which I thought was excellent customer service, not only does this show that the food is freshly prepared but also prevents me looking at my watch wondering where my order is. Both came with a side salad, and my wife's had a row of crisps and homemade coleslaw, my lasagne came with three slices of garlic bread. The meals were excellent and you can see why it is rated so highly on TripAdvisor. I had a bottle of Porter which was delicious and my wife had a medium glass of pinot, altogether just over £30 for everything, which I thought was excellent value for the quality and freshness of food. The lady (who must be the owner) continued to apologise for the mix up with the booking, mistakes happen and the situation was handled perfectly. If you're in the area and a bit peckish then I would highly recommend the Ellenden Farm cafe. We shall be back.

Had 2 visits here with my wife and 2 daughters and miniature dachshund, we called for lunch on 1 occasion and breakfast on another occasion and both times all our meals were superb , really lovely place and friendly staff . Would highly recommend.

We travelled from Gloucester purely based on the reviews here, and so pleased we did. Excellent lunch, so much to choose from, there literally is something for everyone. We had Beef stew and a 5 egg cheese & ham omelette. Superb! The staff are lovely, all smiling & friendly, nothing too much trouble. We can’t wait to go back. Lots of love fresh fruit & veg and much more in this very unassuming looking farm shop. Best lunch we have had in a long time, Thank you 😍

I eat here on quite a regular basis and love to pick up some fruit and veg after the stop. I have never had a bad meal here and if there is any issue Sarah is really quick to resolve it. You can tell they are really popular as on Saturday at 12, 16 tables had diners, within an hour it was 22. Food took about 20 minutes to come out but we were told they were really busy. The food arrived, it was fresh and excellent in every way. Sarah and her hard working and devoted staff were dedicated to providing great customer service. The food is quality and was well priced. It was fresh and really tasty. Presentation was on spot. Nope I have nothing bad to say about this place....you have to come and try it. Outdoors seating as well as indoors. A great farm shop selling fabulous locally grown produce and handcrafted items.

Great spot for a breakfast or lunch! We were visiting the area for a couple of days and called in for breakfast and it was lovely, really great full English breakfast, with the friendliest staff! Truly great spot.

Called in for breakfast - we had a regular and a vegetarian breakfast, with a coffee. All cooked to perfection and served on hot plates, and the coffee was one of the best we have had in a long time. Really good value for the local produce served.

Had a wonderful lunch here. Attentive, personal and friendly service, food and drink served promptly and probably the best Ploughman's I have eaten. This included many home made items including coleslaw and a fresh salad with dressing. It was a substantial portion which exceeded my expectations. My husband's vegetarian cooked breakfast was also very generous and tasty. It is a lovely cafe to visit and a great farm shop to have a look around.

My wife and I booked a cream tea at the Ellenden farm shop and it was fantastic. 12 finger sandwiches between the two of us, a scone with jam / cream each, and a selection of half a dozen cakes. And two pots of delicious tea. We were full after the sandwiches and scones, so the staff packed the cakes for us to bring home. At £20 per head it is great value foe money. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic place, I was recommended Ellenden farm shop for afternoon tea, it was to celebrate my dads 80th birthday, but unfortunately he's no longer with us, but we still had to Mark this special day, i was recommended it, and we had a lovely time, the food was exceptional, all freshly prepared and there was so much ,sandwiches, cakes, strawberries (the best I've ever had) and pots of tea , we even took home a doggy bag , the staff were so lovely and attentive and couldn't do enough for us, they had a lovely outdoor area, for children to run around in and a lovely farm shop to buy loyally produced products from , you must book because it is very popular and I can certainly see why , I can't wait to go back and have a breakfast next time, and just one more thing thank you to Kelvin who was so lovely xxx

We had afternoon tea at lunch time for a birthday party. Truly the BEST cakes I have ever had. Beautiful scones too & I'm not usually a scone fan! Will definitely visit again.

This was my first visit to Ellenden Farm shop to have brunch with the ladies. A good variety of options on the menu which covered all dietary requirements and the cakes all looked so delicious. The food and vegetables are sourced locally and the cakes are all homemade. For families with small children there is a play area and outdoor seating. The views from the farm shop are wonderful and the staff were extremely warm and friendly. Ellenden is an absolute gem, and we have already booked for our next ladies brunch date.

I brought my elderly mother here for tea and cake for a birthday treat. Lovely selection of cakes, staff were very friendly service most definitely with a smile! The farm shop has some yummy food to take home we treated ourselves to local asparagus.

A lovely warm welcome by staff. The setting was beautiful and we enjoyed our breakfast. The lady behind counter serving our coffee was attentive and sold me a beautiful homemade cake which I shall enjoy later. All staff made our visit exceptional, we also purchased their cider to enjoy. Well done ladies we will be back.

Whilst we were a little disappointed by the small farm shop and small range of local foods, we actually went there for breakfast. That was very good value. We were pleased that it was served on very hot plates meaning the food stayed warm till all eaten.

Brought 23 people to Ellenden yesterday for Christmas lunch. Our second year in a row. Sara and all the team go to so much trouble to make for a really enjoyable event. The food was superb - thanks to chef Darren - all served hot, plenty of it, all very tasty. Highly recommend.

I decided to take my 83 year old mum out to the farm kitchen for a roast lunch, they were very kind to her giving her a cushion, making conversation and being generally lovely to her. Food was great, service excellent and contents in the farm shop varied and interesting. Support this independent if you can, they are hardworking and deserve to do well.

Whilst visiting the farm shop we were tempted by the smells coming from the kitchen and decided to investigate further. Ham egg and fries plus bangers and mash, both good portions freshly cooked to order.

We were on route elsewhere and would need lunch around at 1:30pm. I did a search on the web the night before and Ellendens Farm Cafe looked like the place for us. We were not disappoint with our choice but in fact were very pleased. The shop staff were very helpful, pointing us to the rear of the shop for the cafe. While deciding what to eat from a large choice, a table became available. We were served with tea, from very large tea pots (at lease 3 cups each). We ordered: Welsh Rarebit, a Brie and Cranberry Baguette (I think) and a Mediterranean Vegetable Tian. Presentation, portion size and taste of our food was excellent, we also thought the cost was very reasonably. The Staff we very pleasant and helpful. The loos were clean and well presented, including disability facilities - not use to unisex (but I should imagine this is done to available space). We highly recommend this establishment.

So pleased that we found this gem! We stopped by for breakfast after reading such excellent reviews and seeing the appetising photos of some of the meals. Often places don’t live up to their excellent rating as we are all different and things can change but Ellendens exceeded expectations. We were made very welcome and the service was exactly as you would want. The food was all freshly cooked and the coffee was really good. This is definitely a place we will return to when we are in the area. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choices on the menu for brunch, lunch or afternoon tea. Sorry that we cannot easily visit more often!

It’s difficult to know where to start because this place has so many positives. Firstly, the welcome was friendly and an apt introduction to what we experienced. My wife and myself ordered the kitchen breakfast consisting of the usual bacon, sausage, eggs etc and all were of very good quality and cooked to perfection. The accompanying toast was cut from a freshly baked loaf and was delicious together with the orange marmalade. We were definitely set up for our ongoing journey to the West Country and indeed the holiday as a whole.

This farm gate shop and cafe offer delicious meals and fresh food and produce much of which is produced at the farm. Our hearty vegetarian breakfast comprising vegetarian sausages, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns and baked beans was fantastic. Fresh vegetables and fruit, meat and even ice cream and wines, beers and ciders are available for purchase. Produce is local and ethically produced. An absolute delight and worth travelling out of your way for.

Read about this place on TripAdvisor as I was looking for somewhere to meet some friends. Good reviews and they didn't disappoint. Very nice lunch, most of had nicely presented baguettes with salad & crisps (1 gluten free), my wife had the battered halloumi that she said was delicious.

I’ve eaten here many times and without exception the food and service have been exemplary. The staff are friendly and efficient, the menu has a good few permanent fixtures with the added bonus of daily specials so there’s always something for everyone, and the setting is idyllic. Visited on 26th July with my grandparents and we all had an amazing lunch. I had a BBQ Pulled Pork baguette which was delicious. The cafe has amazing views and really friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be visiting again!

We absolutely love it here! We’ve had a number of visits for breakfast and lunch and never been disappointed. The food is incredible and the service is amazing too! They are always very accommodating to my daughter who’s just over one and nothing is too much trouble highly recommend

Thursday morning the wife is away and you fancy a full English what do you do ? let me tell you - come here to Ellendens !! .I have been coming here since it was a little shed selling Veg and there own meat and I have watched it grow into the superb café/shop it is now .

We popped in here for some lunch and it was 4 baguettes all round - but these are no ordinary baguettes - loads of salad and loads of crisps - the dressing was so good, we even had to buy some on the way out.

Ellenden is a lovely place to stop off for a hearty farmhouse lunch. The meals are home cooked to order and the chef uses local ingredients wherever possible.

Have to recommend this lovely little cafe attached to the farm shop. Just had one of the nicest Full English breakfasts for a good while should keep son going all day. Well worth a visit.

We booked a table here for Sunday lunch. Whilst it was not busy, the food took a while as it was all cooked to order. However, the restaurant is attached to a farm shop so there was plenty of time to mooch and peruse the other goodies on offer. There is a generous outside area for kids to run and play and not be bored - during our visit there were chicks and ducklings in a pen too which was lovely. The food was delicious, the veg plentiful and all of it was served with a smile.

Superb quality ingredients, perfectly prepared and presented, delicious good quality food. Ellenden is in a lovely setting with a wonderful farmhouse kitchen looking over fields with sheep, horses, chickens and ducks. There are some outside tables for the good weather. We've been to Ellendens a couple of times for lunch and decided to try the breakfast. It was the perfect sunny Easter Sunday, we arrived early and had a great outdoor spot in the sun. The large breakfast was of the highest quality and so tasty, the eggs perfectly runny and sausage and bacon delicious, all washed down with lots of hot tea. Service is also exceptional, everyone is friendly, helpful and efficient. This is without a doubt now our favourite farm shop cafe...and we go to a lot! We will be back.

We love this farm shop and cafe. The produce is fantastic whether you eat in or take home - the beef (cheaper than supermarkets FYI) is top notch as it is the family’s own and it’s clear they really care about quality.
