Absolutely disgusting food sorry to say and gravy was absolutely disgusting.. Fish was like rubber and chips cold and tasteless

I’ve Heard great things about this chip shop so I thought I’d try it out. I went there at midday on a Friday for fish and chips thinking it would be busy with lunchtime rush and there were only me and 1 other person there. Anyway I orderd 1 fish with chips, bits and curry sauce and another order of chips and curry sauce. The man behind counter was polite and friendly however the food was near enough un-edible! Both portions of chips were cold with a mixture of overly soggy chips that was pretty much just like mush and also some really hard chips that seemed like they haven’t even been cooked. Not only that but I counted 9 green chips out of both Portions too. The fish was a decent size but abit too dry also. I definitely won’t be returning.

Not for me. The batter on the fish was terrible, the fish tasted like it was from a freezer pack, very dry throughout the fish and crusty on the tail.

The food here was exellent, this is the best fish and chips ive had in years, the staff were very kind to us and hope this gets recognised more

Great fish and chips and a very generous portion. The shop and eating space is spotlessly clean. The service was friendly and efficient. I will be back again soon.

I'll keep it simple.......open Tues - Fri 11:30 - 19:00, and Sat dinnertime. Handy if you want to eat after 1.30 - food cooked to order, so it's fresh and hot. Portion size 10/10 Quality 9/10 (which, believe me, means jolly good!) Value for money 10/10 Cooked in beef dripping for the very best taste, so if you're a veggie I suggest Morrisons just down the road.

Sometimes when you pass somewhere it might look empty, I took s chance and have not looked back . Absolutely wonderful Staff, and let me tell u Brill Fish andChips , made with love. They taste fantastic,the lady cooks your fish to order, nice and hot, you here a ping from a thermometer and she know the fish is cooked to perfection with hardly and waste. If you are a fan of bit they too nice and hot. Peas Curry Gravy all very nice . You will not be disappointed, I have now been several times, you will note disappointed at all . Honestly take it from me they deserve an award. So if there anyone reading what I have wrote, who is in the business of awarding chip shops. This get my vote every time. Try for yourself . Happy Go lucky lady they even have red sauce and folks and trays for free, not Many have that these days, there is a courtesy box if you feel contributing is your thing. All I can say it's worth visiting. Defo recommended

This fish and chip take away is the best in Elland. The quality is good consistently because it's run by a proper fish fried. So many fish and chip shops are frozen chip , frozen pre battered fish and tinned mushy peas. You can buy all that from Aldi cheaper. Good fish and chips are soon found . First smell before you get out of the car. A poor fish and chip shop don't change there oil enough therefore there is a smell of burning oil or fat. Basically batter creates little specks of batter and if those are not removed after the oil cools done they burn next time. When I worked in my Uncles shop he used dripping and that sets hard.
