the best fish and chips I've eaten and staff very friendly and helpful im in a wheelchair and George very kindly pulls me up the step because no wheelchair ramp he never moans about it diamond fella and the skate wing and chips I have is out of this world unfortunately went their today for my usual Friday meal but wasn't open hopefully tomorrow but 5 star food and staff all day long.

Popped in here around 515pm with a hungry ten year old boy in tow and needed something cheap and filling quickly. Already quite full it was turning people away by 6pm and for good reason. Really splendid cod and chips for £6 is unheard of these days, and cooked fresh with crispy chips and golden batter an exemplary plateful. To be able to sit down and enjoy this is amazing. Another review called this place a community asset and it's hard to disagree, a beacon of fair pricing in a swamp of rip offs 😍

I give 3 star cos the food was nice. But the size of the fish felt like I got deceived? We ordered 2 regular cod and 1 large cod but when it came to the table, the size of the large cod was fairly identical to the size a regular in both thickness and length 🤔

Today is my first time that I have visited this store, especially since i heard a lot of postive reviews about this shop, and the chips are pretty good. The only small issue that I have is that not only could I not taste the salt in it but because the chips were in a container and wrapped in white paper, it made the chips taste a bit wet but that was probably down to the heat of the chips. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here.

Ordered, sat down, waited while they took orders from two couples who came in after me, who got their orders before me. Decided to leave. Careless, shabby, appalling service. Never again.

Very bad how they talk with the Customer I was Queuing up and dum lady I'm the wrong end themn I waiting again just to be told to get ware I was the staff are very rude and racist Avoid them because they think because it's only £ 6 pounds they can talk to like a peace of rubbish

This is a great fish and chip shop. The food is fresh and cooked to order. Very tasty. Staff friendly. Restaurant and cutlery very clean. Great price I go twice a week. I would thoroughly recommend.

I found the staff not very friendly towards me, I noticed she was friendly to some that must be regulars and they got Thier food straight away even though they came in after us ,our food took 30 mins and when I asked she said oops I forgot I've been a couple of times and it's always the same,a 30 min wait for me where others get Thier food straight away

Service has really gone down since the two new people are at the counter, one cooking and one serving. They never acknowledge you when your waiting, cutlery runs out and never any serviettes...poor poor service, not what it was.

I’ve been here for many years. The food is great, but note this. I will not be spoken to in a disrespectful manner. The older woman served me and she’s normally quite friendly. Not sure why I was met with such animosity? She got my order wrong too.

I have to say what a lovely meal, honestly the best chip shop chips I’ve ever had. The fish was perfect and the value was amazing. George the fryer was funny the waitress were polite and welcoming all watched over by the boss Naz. The eat in meal is worth the journey. Thanks and Katrina dont be afraid to leave the tea bag in a little longer lol.

Arrived cold and I asked for refund which you have ignored and why are your couriers not using proper insulated bags as cool bags are not ideal I have now told friends to not use you as you don’t repay

I have look map for your driver, he ride on electric bike pass my area 3 mins he done delivery another extra 15 mins to my home.. Why do he are late?

Writing on behalf of mother in her 60s. Food always good value and have been loyal customer - friendly with boss. Last went few months ago. Went there for lunch with another friend in his 70s And both bought lunch and drink today. Paid and drinks arrived. One member of staff came over telling us that they want us to leave because they felt we stole their condiments previously?! We asked for cctv evidence. They said they dont have one. We asked for proof - they claim they found We often would sit on the same table and condiments would be missing after? Why were we never challenged previously if so? We asked to see the boss but they claim he is on holiday. Staff was rude, told us to leave and never come back? They made insulting slander and shouted at us in front of all customers. Appalling accusations on 2 loyal pensioners with appalling customer service.

FINALLY!! A chip shop that doesn't charge an arm and a leg, and tastes great, too. I'll definitely be ordering again

Good food however they do talk bad about their customers, I'm partial deaf in one ear and I shout. Heard her talking about me behind my back to the other staff Please approach customers and ask as there is always a reason behind an issue. I am very upset. Location is convenient for shopping. The cleanliness of the customer areas is excellent. Under new management. Special offer of Cod and chips. Fish is cooked to order. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Not worth the price, even if it was £5.50. I paid £11.00 and £1.20 forced service charge to deliver and the cod is smaller then a banana, the chips taste bland. Next time I’ll go elsewhere, hugely disappointed. Rip off. It was also delivered 10 minutes late when we live just down the high street from it.

Awesome fresh fish with the best batter going. Far better than Tom Bells and equal to the Pilot Inn at Dundgeoness without the high prices. The chips are always great and the prices are very very good. The curry sauce is great (if you like that sort of thing) and the staff are very nice people that will look after you well. I go here every week because it really is the best chippy I've ever known. My wife loves it, my mother loves it, my mates love it, everyone I know loves it. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Great deal £5.50 for fresh cod and chips! The lady that serves is very stingy with the chips :( but if you're lucky enough to get served by the gent, he'll fill the rest of the fish box with chips :)

Ordered the cod and chips, the cod had no flavour whatsoever, not sure it was cod to be honest. The worse tasteless cod I've ever eaten. Put it straight in the bin! Would never go back here again.

Lovely chips but the pie was warm on the outside but freezing on the inside.

They need to respect their advertised opening hours. Went down this evening and it’s already got it’s shutter down, someone inside, almost finished cleaning up. This is the third time it’s happened to me - inconsistent closing time which messes you around, especially if you’ve walked there.

I ordered online for delivery from Elite Fish Bar Welling, Kent, UK. However, the confirmation stated my order was for collection. I phoned the restaurant and they said I needed to phone Just Eat to change the order. Just Eat were not contactable on any phone number so I had to message via chat. The representative said he couldn't help and I had to call the restaurant back. I called the restaurant back and they said there was nothing they could do. I was unable to collect the order. I never order for collection.

I had to wait nearly an hour for chips. They even served others chips after me.

Good quality fish and nice chips, thick flesh within crispy but moist batter. Paid £5.50 for genuine half price deal of cod and chips . Not been here for years but will be back. Cooked fresh to order so allow 15 minutes. Parking outside or in supermarkets close by

The food was great, nice and hot too. There were 4 of us and one was my Canadian cousin, who really wanted to have a traditional English fish and chips meal. She absolutely loved it, and we couldn't have taken her to a better place. I would highly recommend you try this restaurant. 😋😋😋😋

Apart from one older member of staff, everyone is very friendly, the food is always freshly cooked, and the price is just so good - It’s no wonder they are always busy, both sitting in and on takeaway. Highly recommended

Very Classic english fish and chip shop. With very classic blue and white interior, with classic dishes, cod, fish cakes, steak and ale pies etc.

Brought fish and chips as the New shop opened but I can honestly say if their food is as bad at that price God knows what it will be like at 11.50p good luck. I have changed my opinion Big time! Fish is lovely so are chip,service is fantastic and for less than 10£ you can get a lovely meal.

Food is always hot when delivered. Been using Elite fish bar dor a while now and have never had a need to complain.

This shop is clean, friendly and the regular cod and chips at takeaway price of £5.50 is freshly cooked while you wait. Excellent value, excellent quality and I have been going there regularly and always found the staff, including the owner, welcoming and helpful. During the recent hardships we have all had to go through I think this shop does a lot to help people who are struggling to afford, the now luxury, of fish and chips as a treat. I thank them for bringing an affordable treat into the our lives. A credit to the community. Thank you.

Lovely fresh fish crispy batter nice size. Lovely freshly cut chips lightly golden. Normal mushy peas all arrived freshly cooked and hot. Will order again

Half price fish and chips but really wasn't great. Very watery, maybe just not cooked long enough as they were trying to serve quite a few people who were waiting. Tried it once, not again.

My hubby's food turned up but mine didn't. Phoned and was told another would be sent. Waited an hour, phoned back and was told they had no drivers and to claim money back from just eat. Will not be ordering from them again.

If you want fresh white meaty fish with a nice thin crispy batter this is the restaurant for you I am not exaggerating when I say you will not find better I guarantee you will not be disappointed. and it's all cooked fresh. It is very clean with friendly management and staff I won't be going anywhere else except maybe their other shop opposite the Wimpy bar near the "Blue" in Bermondsey. Brilliant.
