Elio Café in Birmingham

Always love visiting this independent coffee shop. The atmosphere is great and the coffee been even better. It’s my little get out when I’m tired of all the other regular coffee shops

Lovely coffee and excellent customer service. All the staff are so friendly - Barista Anya is a ray of sunshine especially on those gloomy mornings before work!

I have been coming here for a good year or more now. I come here to study, i bring all my family and friends here, i even come here to just have a ncie chat with the staff. It is a brilliant, amazing place. The staff are so friendly and always cheer me up. I would in no doubt say this is the best place to go for coffee and cake, or even to study. Great atmosphere, great staff and cant forget the amazing cake and drinks 😍

This cafe is my second home tbh.. love the place.. the vibes .. the different types of cakes .. the wide selections of brunch .. and most importantly the staff working there .. they are professionals .. friendly .. and welcoming .. Sam is one of them who is a perfect representative of what Elio is providing .. love u guys ❤️

The coffee here is really good. The staff are extremely friendly and the ambiance of the place is really warm and cozy. Definitely worth a visit if you are around this part of town.

The best coffee shop in Birmingham. I’m fortunate this happens to be right by my workplace, but also unfortunate as I spend a fortune in here. It’s the best coffee in Birmingham, with lovely, welcoming staff, and it’s a great atmosphere and very chilled. The prices on the food are pretty high, but note that when you get the food, it will be presented beautifully and is made fresh with little extras to top it up. Slices of cake for £6 seem astronomical, but with the cream and sauces, they don’t seem so bad once you eat them, and they’re absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place. It’s worth the trek to the Mailbox if you’re in the middle of the city centre. It’s THAT good.

Elio Cafe is on the top floor of the Mailbox, near where it leads out onto the canals. The arcade and the cafe were both quiet; but the cafe was a cool, relaxed haven to enjoy a coffee contentedly. The lady barista was epically friendly and considerate. The tasty coffee had an excellent bitter edge and went well with the sweetness of the cinnamon bun, which was lush, and softer than most. A small, top coffee shop, my favourite independent from my visits to Birmingham.

A stylish clean cafe with a great number of choices - even better, you can asked for something more customised and the staff are more than willing to accommodate if possible. Thank you Binh for the delicious hot chocolate ! Very smooth and rich. The lemon drizzle is also one of the best I've had. Recommend to visit.

Absolutely incredible coffee shop! Amazing drinks and the cakes are to die for! I come here regularly and it is my go to when it comes to coffee or cake! The staff is lovely and so easy to talk to. They're kind, very polite and so friendly! Plus the facilities are always clean and same goes for the rest of the shop. I highly recommend the Iced lattes, coffee shakes and the Mocha. Absolutely incredible place, would highly recommend :)

Well I don't really know how many times I have been this gem place at Mailbox. Highly recommended to anyone who doesn't know where to go for a nice break/coffee/snacks/afternoon tea with their bestie in town. I live in the city centre n explored enough cafes, and Elio is always on the top of my list - that's how good it is even for a picky one like me! And all the staff are professional, passionate n friendly (especially my personal favourite Binh x ;))

Came to do some work, stayed for lunch and took home a cake. Great vibe and Anand made me feel very welcome. Will be back soon!

I had an allergic reaction in store as they never stated anywhere in the restaurant that certain products contained nuts. I wrote a message to them on Instagram and they never replied. They also have their phone line which does not work so I could not even contact them. It is basic to state that a certain product contains nuts or any other allergens. I would not recommend this cafe if you have allergies.

If you like good coffee, then this is your place. The coffee is always exceptional, perfectly blended and exquisitely smooth. As coffee goes this gets a deserved 10 out of 10. I have also tried the sumptuous hot chocolate (which is like no other), the Matcha and Beetroot lattes what can I say – yum and hit the spot when you fancy something different. I am not a tea lover but even the tea is seriously good here! The food offering is also very well thought out and whatever time of day I visit there is always something to tempt me. My favourites are the Cinnamon bun, the Pecan Pie, The Italian Flatbread and the Mezze. The atmosphere is always relaxing, the music soothing and “oh the décor”, the first thing that made me step inside Elio, how beautiful, like an art gallery of sorts but with coffee and cake!! Elio is an independent and is shows, the service, the offering, the service provided by a ultra friendly and helpful team, the cleanliness, the décor have so much attention to detail that only an independent can have. Elio is a gem within the relaxed atmosphere of the Mailbox. I visit Elio frequently and recently treated a friend to lunch and coffee as a birthday treat, being a coffee lover I felt she had to be introduced. You are always met with a warm welcome here. Staff are great at recommendations for those who want to try something new be it a drink, flatbread or sweet treat. There is an extensive drinks menu- definitely the best coffee and the hot chocolate is pure indulgence. The food menu is also varied covering breakfast, brunch, lunch or teatime treats. The quality of the food is consistently satisfying. I highly recommend Elio if you want quality coffee & food, a relaxed atmosphere and the most wonderful staff!

Elio serves the best coffee in Birmingham, with a great understanding and love for coffee. The food is delicious, creative flatbreads and many gourmet cake options. The new breakfast buns are amazing and vegan! Great service and the friendliest staff, I will be back.

This café has recently opened in the Mailbox opposite the BBC. It has a pleasant interior and friendly staff. We enjoyed two good quality flat whites which cost £6.20.
