Great food! Coffee (even the expresso, that I find difficult to enjoy in the UK) is absolutely great!

Amazing place and great customer service

My sister and I came here for some lunch prior to visiting an event. With such a pleasant atmosphere and amazing food, I feel this deserves a 5 star review. We were served by a beautiful, young lady named Aylin. She was ever so kind and welcoming, making our experience all the more satisfactory. All of the staff present are very customer focused. There was chilled music playing in the background of the lovely, relaxed dining area. We ordered the meze and the dishes were served in a very timely manner and tasted absolutely gorgeous. Personally, I really enjoyed the chicken souvlaki. Dessert options really caught my eye, and we were not disappointed! They tasted phenomenal; particularly the Baklava which I would definitely try again. Would recommend this excellent Greek bar and restaurant to anybody in Bristol :)

Came here for evening meal and the food was amazing. Its freshly cooked and I would highly recommend the meze dishes. The staff are really friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is relaxed and you do not feel rushed.

Came here with my girlfriends family for food and drinks on Saturday night. Can’t fault anything at all. The kleftiko was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We spoke to the owner who seemed a lovely guy. Overheard they were selling to new owners. Will definitely try to return before they leave.

Pita with tzatziki and hummus are absolutely fantastic and I recommend to anyone to try them! Sausages were tasty and good to try new authentic food but also were overpriced. The main dish with souvlaki was very tasty but I was disappointed by the size of salad and chips: I'm a huge fan of Greek salad but I've got just a small portion and tons of chips which I wasn't interested that much. Once again: overpriced. After all I think it's very authentic restaurant but I don't think that should come with such a high price for simple dishes. I will come back to try different positions from menu.

Another lovely late afternoon meal for the 4 of us, our good friends had the Mezze, my wife had the Stifado and I went for the Mixed Grill. All perfectly cooked and beers and wine supplied by the lovely waitresses, who even sat down with us for s few moments for a chat. You cannot wish for a better experience than this, if you don't believe me pop along yourself...you won't be disappointed. Cheers guys 👍🤓 Peds, Lor, Dug and Jane x

What a wonderful evening! The staff were so lovely and made my daughters 30th birthday so special, nothing was too much trouble for them. They were efficient and attentive and extremely friendly, The food was amazing, service first class . We loved the Greek music playing in the background , the fairy lights and general decor made you feel like you were dining out on holiday. This really is a lovely restaurant.

First time to Elia and we were delighted by the entire evening. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, the waiting staff were particularly caring and also helpful and the food in all three courses was first class. Clearly they all enjoy creating an experience of Greek Cyprus and this works very well indeed. The tables were beautifully clean, as indeed was the rest of the restaurant. From our experience of a full three course meal at Elia, there seems to be a well thought out range of dishes to appeal to most tastes, the prices are very fair considering the high quality of the ingredients and the staff and owners have a great sense of humour and deserve to flourish!

I ordered food for collection from Elia and the service was fantastic. The food was well packaged and plentiful. The four members of staff i encountered on my visit and over the phone were polite,chatty and helpful. I cannot recommend the food highly enough,it was freshly cooked and the ingredients seemed to be of great quality. Faultless. Will definitely visit again. The restaurant itself is lovely and I hope to visit and sit in for a meal next time.

What a great restaurant. Visited for a big group birthday party mezze. Food was superb, service amazing and to cater for such a large number of people (32) and get food out all at the same time was fantastic - can fault it and will return soon. 10/10 Team Elia

Thank you for an excellent evening as 4 of us dined with you, 2 of us for the first time. Well looked after and our waitress (sorry can't recall name, probably to do with the🍷🍷 but she was from Ecuador) informative, friendly and fun. My two good friends and my wife Lor had mezze with a total of 9 dishes to share. Great choices to be had, they all enjoyed them, mmmm. I chose Kleftiko with a side of Pita, it came with roast pots and Greek village salad. Yummy😋 3 of us finished of with the Greek filo pastry with a custard filling and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Lovely! Thank you to the chef and staff. Well worth a visit for anyone who loves or wishes to try a Greek experience close to home and we will certainly be back👍

We had lunch in this restaurant and we stayed quite satisfied. Everything was great from starters to mains. For main we had the mix grill, skewers were delicious nice cooked and juicy. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting.

Great restaurant for delicious mezze food, they had plenty of vegan options and the portions were great for sharing - they recommended 3 small plates per person and that was definitely plenty! The food wasn't really cheap but not really expensive either, as you definitely get what you pay for. The drinks were quite reasonably priced and the wine was nice. It has a really nice atmosphere and the staff were all lovely. would definitely recommend!

Ομορφο μαγαζι, ειδικα η αυλη στο πισω μερος,αρκετα φωτεινη αν εχει καλη μερα. Το φαγητο πολυ νοστιμο, μ εντυπωσιασε κυριως το παστιτσιο, ο μουσακας δε θα λεγα τοσο. Αυτο που με ξενισε ηταν οτι προσθεσαν στα ελληνικα πιατα μπαχαρια που δε χρησιμοποιουμε, στο ρυζι π.χ ,κατι που αλλαζει τελειως τη γευση του πιατου. Συστηνω το ψαρι ανεπιφυλακτα!

Cozy envrionment, staff really friendly and kind. Lovely food!

My meal was really nice (stifado) my girlfriend had the souvlaki which was really salty, it was a shame as I had this as a mezze to start and mine wasnt. The service was good although we had a main and 1 mezze each to start the waitress seemed to think we should of had 3 (I'm glad we didn't!) All in all it was good but very pricey for what it is also the meal that says £17 online is actually £22

Very nice food, quick service. It was my first time having swordfish and it was delicious. Unfortunately about three desserts on the menu weren't available but other than that it was a good experience.

Not for the first time, I’ve just had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food is delicious and the range of choices on the menu is very good. My wife is vegetarian and gluten-free and was able to have a very good meal here. The service throughout was excellent and the price we paid seemed very reasonable these days for the amount of food we had. Highly recommended !

My wife and I popped in on the off chance of getting a table early on Saturday evening having never visited Elia before. When we initially asked we were informed that sadly they were fully booked, however, they then gave us the option of a small table for 2, right in the front window which we gratefully accepted and are now so glad we did! We ordered 7 tapas dishes between us and a bottle of the house Greek white wine. The wine was absolutely fine with the meal and complimented pretty much every dish we ordered, and at £20 a bottle was reasonably priced. Our first dish to arrive was pitta with houmous and tzatziki. My first impression was that with there only being a single (albeit large and nicely fluffy) warm pitta to go with the dips, it was perhaps a little bit of a short measure, however, as the other dishes started to arrive we ended up being pretty happy there wasn't a second pitta, as by the time we finished eating we were as stuffed as a Dolmades. The Loukaniko sausage was gorgeous and the calamri well cooked, with a good portion of very nicely sized pieces (rather than the often skinny rings seen at other venues). My one slight observation is that the calamari could have done with some alioli or similar with it, but again this wasn't a major concern as we still had some Tzatziki left over from the pitta and this went pretty nicely with the calamari. We can also highly recommend both the Spanakopita and (our favourite dish of the lot) the Pastichio. Having never eaten Pastichio before I think I jave now discovered my favourire Greek dish. Overall, I think the best compliment I can give Elia is that it took both my wife and I back to a holiday we had in Skiathos a few years back, during which we found a rustic restaurant a little off the beaten track where the food was cooked by a lady along with other members of her family working the restaurant, yet while there you felt like you were a guest in their home. The food and service in Elia was so reminiscent of our time there, with the staff all very friendly and very pleasantly mannered. It was also very notable how many (obviously regular) customers popped down to the kitchen to thank the chef and the team, and how well received those thanks were. I'm now really looking forward to a repeat visit soon as there were plenty of other dishes still to try!! Efcharistó to all the team.

Came here on the 28.01.23 with my family for my birthday meal. We have been here many times and this place never lets us down. Food was great, very high quality. Staff all lovely and very friendly. Would definitely recommend this to people. Look forward to coming again 👍

Lovely atmosphere ! I enjoyed the moussaka, plus the calamari were crunchy outside and soft inside.. delicious 🤤 The menu offer plenty of choice. Totally worth it !

moussaka太好吃了，他是土豆泥和肉末做的，有酱油的咸味和芝士的奶香味，最下面是软的茄子。奶香味恰到好处，连我这样不喜欢吃芝士的人也觉得非常香。其次我喜欢剑鱼配薯条，我的朋友们也很喜欢这道菜，剑鱼很新鲜，没有鱼腥味。souvlaki也很好吃，他是有烤鸡肉串烤猪肉串和薯条组成，我认为猪肉有一些考得太老了，并且上面盐撒的太多，咸。这里的薯条还是炸的好吃的。唯一一道我觉得不好吃的菜是鹰嘴豆，番茄酱的味道太浓郁了，很酸的，我牙齿都酸痛了。它里面好像加了大量的白醋，总之就是非常酸

A lovely and welcoming restaurant. Came here for a Christmas works do. We all had the tapas dishes. Staff were really good in making suggestions. Being popular they had ran out of some of the white wines but the Greek wine we had was enjoyable. Food was beautifully presented and delicous. Would come again.

Visited late afternoon (Friday 25th) after seeing all the glowing reviews. And having travelled from East Devon in search of some top Cypriot food, we were not disappointed! Having lived in Cyprus for 4 years - and having a Cypriot husband - we found every dish of our meze to be the 'real deal'. For my part (and being a freak for them) the dolmades were exceptional - but having said that, each component of our 6 dish meal was full of flavour and gorgeous. When we next travel to Bristol we will definitely return and explore some of the other tempting meals on offer. The service was bang on. There is ample space between tables. And the whole place (even though it was reasonably quiet when we went) had a great vibe. Thank you for a great meal - and please open another restaurant in East Devon!!!!!

Wonderful authentic Greek food!

Visited for the first time recently and was blown away by the food. I've always enjoyed the food when on holiday in Greece and the food at Elia took me right back. I had a mixed grill and all of the meat was very tasty, never had a lamb skewer like it. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful little place! Staff are great, knowledgeable about the food and drinks and attentive if you want them to be. I am coeliac and they had plenty to choose from. They even make GF pitta breads! 5* for quality, quantity, value for money, atmosphere, cleanliness. I've only recently found it, but I will definitely be back :)

Really enjoyed our dinner here, as the food was tasty and there was a nice atmosphere but not too loud. Portions were large but food was on the pricey side.

Had dinner there, very good food, quite authentic. Kleftico not really as have had on many a Greek island, but very tasty alll the same. Mixed grill massive, very tasty. Sword fish excellant. Will return.

A lovely restaurant with good food and wine and welcoming staff. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio and some tap water and spent a while choosing our food. We’d decided to go for meze and there was a good choice. At the top of the menu they suggest three dishes each which we found just right and chose houmous and tzatziki with pita bread, Loukamiko (a Greek sausage), spinach and feta in filo pastry, dolmades, moussaka and baked feta. We found this to be a good variety of tasty dishes all of which were very enjoyable. For dessert R chose the custard filled filo slice and I had the vanilla cheesecake, a great way to finish our meal. Thank you for a very enjoyable meal.

Easily the best place to eat traditional food from Cyprus anywhere in Bristol, absolute fact! Great value (would happily pay more), great food and lovely staff. So much better than all the average commercial chains around Bristol.

Really delicious food! We got the mezze moussaka and the mains mix grill. Huge portions, filled both of us up. The mix grill had lamb chop, pork AND chicken souvlaki, two kinds of sausages, grilled halloumi with chips and salad. Great way to try different dishes. The place was larger than it seems from the outside. We will be going back again soon

I visited here this week as a surprise birthday meal for a friend, there were 9 of us in total and had a great experience. Arrived early and were made to feel very welcome. 5 of us ordered almost all the tapas on the menu to share and the gentleman assisting was extremely helpful. We couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were, less than £40 each which included several drinks and a bottle of wine, I had to check it was correct 🙈. Staff were great, nothing was too much trouble and extra bonus points for having non alcoholic gin which actually tasted like gin!!! Hope we weren't too loud.. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Pretty much faultless! The house red was extremely tasty (full bodied but also lots of fruit notes), and all the mezzes incredible. The Loukanino sausage and grilled halloumi were real highlights. The service was delightful too. Should be keeping all the other nearby eateries on...

I can’t speak highly enough of Dimitri and the wonderful food and front of house team. There were 15 of us. Meeting for the first time ever after two years of working on zoom. Elia made this a very special evening. Perfect for big gatherings and an ethos which is all about sharing and conviviality. Elia is a worthy contender for Bristol’s friendliest eating place.

Visited Elia for the first time last night to celebrate a friends birthday. We were a very big group and had no problem getting our food served within a good time! The staff were lovely and attentive, we always had drinks and were never left waiting for anything.. The food was lovely! Really good portions on the mains and the mezze was fabulous. I enjoyed every single thing I ordered.. my only complaint was that they had ran out of stifado 💔 I will have to try that next time! Also the best humus I have ever tasted!!

Had a fabulous evening at Elia, staff very friendly and helpful, food was tasty and traditional, would highly recommend it, they also accommodated the concerns of the older generation and offered a table that was more socially distance so to ease the anxiety. Thank you for a fabulous time, we will be back and hope to attend one of the Greek nights in the new year.

The staff were friendly and the food was ok but cannot rave. Had taramasalata and hummus starter and souvlaki for main. Bizarrely the service was too fast as mains came while still eating starter. Souvlaki was ok but quite dry. Desserts were stodgy.

Went to Elia in Cotham. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who helped us with the wine list and Menu. The food was divine. Memories of Greece and Cyprus flooding back. The best Greek food in Bristol. Can't wait to go back.

This restaurant has been on my list for a while now. Out of the hustle and bustle of Cotham Hill, but worth a visit for some excellent Greek food. Some dishes were outstanding - the chicken skewers being the top pick. Friendly staff and nice...

Friendly staff, superb greek food

I've been to Elia 3 times now. To initially summarise, it's authentic, tasty and well priced. In more detail... The staff are friendly and know the menu off by heart. Also, given the three times I've been have been over the course of year, to see the same staff members at least to me, shows it can't be a bad place to work. I feel if the staff are happy, they'll cook good food. And they really do. The other point I should make is that I've only ever gone there in groups. Today I went as a group of 9 and the food was delivered hot and promptly. In fact, the chef came and asked if they were making us feel rushed, for which they absolutely weren't. In my group today, some had the Mezee dishes, others had a main single dish but still it all came out together, hot and tasty. Bristol is a hot spot for good restaurants, especially in that area but if you fancy something authentic, whether it's light bites, Greek Mezee style or a main dish, this place is worth a visit. Despite the road being closed to cars a little further down, parking hasn't been a problem for me and they have street side seating when the weather is nice, like it was today.
