A wonderful meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly enhancing the warm relaxed atmosphere. We were confident to be guided through the menu and wines by the experience and knowledge of the waitresses. The flavours and textures were masterfully put together producing an enticing dishes. I would highly recommend a visit.

Best dining experience I have had in Bristol so far! Recommend ordering 1 nibble, 1 starter, and 1 main each - and ask the lovely staff what they recommend…. we tried things from the menu we perhaps would never usually have tried and they were our favourite dishes! Everything was so mouth watering-ly good and so special. Thank you everyone at COR! See you soon!

This dining experience at COR was a fantastic journey, blending clever and talented food combinations with a strong connection to the staff. Each team member has their own unique character, and their passion for food and customer service shines through in everything they do. My friend and I were absolutely inspired by our first visit to COR. The decor is clean, neat, and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, creating a cozy, well-organized, and comfortable space. Seeing the chef at the end of the room made us feel more connected to the staff. The sourdough bread was fine, but the rest of the dishes were outstanding. The coppa stagionata was amazing—so smooth thanks to the abundance of fat, and the pickles on the side were a lovely bonus. The Mozzarella di Buffalo salad was the highlight for me. The ingredients were superb, and the combination was thrilling. The peach was perfectly ripe and flavorful, the fennel was delightfully crunchy, and the creamed onion on top added both flavor and texture. Highly recommended! The anchovy dish had a tangy base and was full of pistachios, and the Iberian pork presa was superb, served with incredibly juicy tomatoes. For dessert, the Fior di Latte was unique and delicious—a pure milk gelato topped with fennel, sea salt, and olive oil. Truly exciting! The staff were all friendly, helpful, and energetic, adding to the overall fantastic experience. Everyone was so nice, making the visit even more memorable.

Our second visit & even better than we remembered! Very unpretentious but incredible food & service. We honestly could not fault one dish - all absolutely delicious. Stand outs for us were the asparagus, the pea pasta and OMG - the potatoes!!! The potatoes were what we remembered from our last visit and honestly they were again the best potatoes we have ever ever eaten! And we have eaten a lot!! Please never take these off the menu - they are off the scale amazing!! A very special mention has to go to the staff though - engaging, cheery, knowledgeable and utterly delightful. Made our visit very special. All finished off with a fab carafe of house rose and a plate of cheese from the amazing cheese shop just down the road. Perfect. If you haven’t eaten here you’re missing a trick. One of the best restaurants in Bristol for sure. Admittedly not cheap but absolutely worth every single penny. Thank you to all the staff or Cor - you totally nailed it yesterday. Oh and did I mention the potatoes…..??!!!

What can I say… been back on an almost monthly basis since we moved into the area and never been let down. The team is amazing and always super welcoming and attentive throughout and stands at the basis of one of the most wonderful dining experiences in Bristol. We love sitting at the bar so we can watch cocktails being made - that’s the cherry on the cake! Food is beautiful and has a surprising twist to it; the last time we visited we thought the cannellini beans were ok… we were convinced to try them again last night and really liked the new version! Black garlic butter, sweet shallots & Gorgonzola (my forever favourite) and the iberico ham is some of the dishes we can never stay away from for too long. Banging cocktails & potatoes!! Looking forwards to our next visit already (and we don’t normally keep on going back to the same places!). Thank you team!

COR is a wonderful business which I had the pleasure of hosting an event with this month. I was already a regular here due to the incredible food and drinks and the all round lovely vibe of this neighbourhood restaurant. I approached them to see if they would be open to putting something on together and I was thrilled they said yes! We hosted a Yoga Supper Club together and everyone had such a lovely time, the food was incredible and the staff couldn't have been more attentive. The event was also raising money for a local charity based in Bedminster. Mark designed an incredible menu that allowed the event to be affordable for everyone attending and also to make a donation to the charity. So grateful to have such a community minded business in our area and I can't wait to host more events here in the future.

Not a great experience. We ordered asparragus with Spanish iberico bellota ham, but instead they brought us normal roast ham - no explanation or apologies watsoever for the big downgrade on the ham type. The cuttlefish wasn't properly cleaned either. They also added a discretionary 12.5% tip to the bill, which is always a cheeky move. Overall It felt incredibly overpriced and pretentious for the actual quality of ingredients and simplicity of the dishes and we left feeling a little conned, which isn't the best thing to feel after a meal out. I don't think we'll be coming back.

Went to COR last night with my girlfriend for her birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. It’s a restaurant that we’ve been meaning to try for a while, as it’s been raved about by every foodie in Bristol - and somehow, COR manages to not only live up to the overwhelming amount of hype surrounding it, but it actually exceeds it, too. The food was unbelievable - every dish was so perfectly constructed, and the flavour and quality of everything is up there with some of the best food I’ve ever had. Totally wonderful drinks (the non-alcoholic aperitifs I had were delicious, and my girlfriend loved the blood orange and clemoncello spritz) and the staff were so attentive and knowledgable - you’re made to feel so welcome in there, the service is absolutely wonderful. I simply can’t recommend it enough - what an outstanding place.

While the food was tasty, it felt as though all of it could have been cooked at home. Presentation was nice enough. Service was alright, however plates were cleared too eagerly and there was no discussion about the menu offered (which you’d expect for a menu that’s just a list of ingredients). For the quality and skill of these dishes the prices are too high. For somewhere recommended as vegan friendly, the vegan menu can be massively improved with proper cooking nice dessert wine at the end (like any restaurant with dessert wines on the menu)

Very disappointing! I went there a couple of days ago for dinner. It said that, food and drinks in this restaurant are influenced by love of the Mediterranean. Well, they don’t offer a Mediterranean cuisine, just too much garlic everywhere. Garlic should be used wisely as too much overwhelms the dish, masking the other flavours; that's what happened with all the 4 dishes we ordered. The use of garlic in the Mediterranean cuisine is completely different. You need to balance the ingredients you use in food. Furthermore the service was very poor. Made me feel very unwelcomed. Additionally it is over priced and over rated, the prices and dishes are far apart. I will not go back.

Our waitress was attentive and extremely helpful with making recommendations for my partner's dietary needs for food that didn't contain rennin (mainly cheeses). They were able to supplement this for the most part. The atmosphere was lovely and chilled. Whilst only a small restaurant, we didn't feel cramped at all. Best service received in Bristol in a long time, very intuitive staff, topping up water without asking, talking through menu when unsure, extra black garlic butter when you're running dangerously low, offering to wrap up food to take home when the cheeseboard is proving to big a feat. Lovely staff. Gorgeous atmosphere, good music, at the right level and pretty much dining by candlelight too which was sweet. A touch on the "cosy" side, incredibly close to diners either side to the point you absolutely can hear their conversations at points, only a small negative, as long as you have an interesting dining partner it shouldn't detract from your evening!! Cocktails were balanced, lovely presentation. Food was delicious, small plates are always fun to have, so many flavors in one sitting. Scallops so zingy and fresh with the fennel and apple, roasted garlic, gorgonzola and anchovy on toast was heaven. Would have loved thiner slices of iberico jamon, proved quite tough to munch through, flavour was delish. Slightly disappointed with the pork main it just didn't work for us, the panzanella was delicious but the pork although was tender just didn't have a lot of flavour, even from the char, and the membrillo felt like a strange element that didn't seem to tie everything together. That being said, will absolutely recommend it to all friends, fantastic evening of wining and dining. 💓

There are set lunches, and then there is the COR set lunch. I visited a few weeks back to celebrate a friends birthday, and we had an absolute treat. We ate: 🖤 Savoury canolé, Gorgonzola, decana pear, white balsamic & candied walnuts (£8.9 from the specials, not on the set menu) 🖤 Cannellini beans, lemon beurre blanc, smoked caviar, panko 🖤 Hereford beef onglet, tropea onion, hazelnut beurre noisette, aged balsamic, gorgonzola 🖤 Tarta de Santiago, Amalfi lemon, salted almond cream At £30 for three courses this certainly isn’t Bristol’s cheapest set lunch but it’s up there as one of its finest, and makes COR a little more affordable for those who may be put off by the a la carte menu prices. Each dish was stunning in its own right but my favourite had to be the beef. I would never usually choose to put Gorgonzola with anything, but I loved the combination both here with the tropea onions (the best!) and as part of the savoury canolé. That’s part of the beauty of a set menu in my mind - you try things you wouldn’t usually and (hopefully) discover you really enjoy! Only my second visit to COR but once again I was blown away, I can absolutely see why they have received the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand for two consecutive years! Mark Chapman is incredible at what he does. Will be back for sure ✨ (review copied from my IG)

We celebrated a birthday at COR, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The place is small and cozy, with a glazed shopfront letting in plenty of natural light. The open kitchen adds a nice touch, making you feel closer to the food. The service staff was not only attentive but genuinely wonderful. The seasonal menu at COR allows each main ingredient to take the spotlight, with well-crafted sauces and complementary elements bringing the dishes together. A standout hero for me was the saucier, truly the MVP in orchestrating flavors. Surprisingly, as a meat lover, I found the vegetable dishes to be absolute stars, incredibly tasty. The crispy Jerusalem artichoke was a highlight that left a lasting impression. With such a fantastic first experience, I am eager to return and explore more dishes on the menu. Here for Valentine’s Day. Great staff, great food… what ruined it was this being another place that has a “discretionary” service charge added on at 12.5%. This ruined the atmosphere for us so we skipped dessert. I don’t see why this sort of charge is put on when everyone knows that the British mentality is to just accept and pay it rather than feel uncomfortable in asking it to be removed. Particularly when this is a restaurant of such stature that you already know the meal cost is going to be expensive, then why not embed that 12.5% into the menu cost? An increase of a main say at £25 to £31.25 is more likely to be overlooked as this is what is expected from a Michelin guide restaurant, rather than force you into a “tipping” situation like the US. Totally ruined the experience and the magic for us.

Just scrapes the 5 stars, if it was less I'd have to mark everyone else down. Overall it really great, however I felt on some dishes it weren't amazing value, though others were very reasonably priced. I think probably one makes up for the other. For example the beef was less than I'd expect perhaps, but the potatoes were more. Yes it is more expensive than other restaurants you'll find on North Street, but it is potentially the best food too. It is suggested to order a few different dishes, they come out when they're ready, and service is excellent. Portions are relatively small, but not so much tapas small. Most of them you could feasibly share and not feel like you needed more of that dish to enjoy it. The quality of the ingredients is obviously good, and it's all put together very well. You are also paying for the great service and the experience Generally I'd recommend it. The food and service is top quality and the place itself has a nice atmosphere. Apart from medium value, I'd also suggest not booking a window seat if you have a bad back or legs (or anything really), by the end on the stalls I had one leg asleep and a bit of return to the bad back. That said, I'd still probably go back for the food.

Everything is so well thought through. Bavette was on special when I went and I’ve never had bavette that tender - it’s hard to do that with bavette. I asked how they managed it and they said they cooked it sous vide. Really good attention to detail. Would happily eat all the dishes again. Will be back

These guys went above and beyond for us on my birthday at the start of this month. My partner has a lot of issues with food and they were kind enough to print out a separate safe menu tailored to her needs and the food was excellent!

Had a stunning lunch at Cor on Friday. Totally unplanned, recommended by a good friend. Arrived to a warm welcome and menu/specials run through. Not hurried and nice atmosphere. The kitchen in full view, small place but didn’t feel it. Tapas style approach and staff genuinely passionate about the menu and specials. Opened with some sour dough and burrata accompanied by a chilled bottle of Sicilian Regaleali Bianco. Followed by both of the specials for the day and the octopus with some decent heat and an amazing cannellini bean and caviar dish. Managed to say hello to the owner/chef (mark i think!) and thank him for a great lunch. Will be back for sure.

COR is superb. The food is incredible, flavours are balanced and exciting, the ingredients clearly at their best, fresh and vibrant. Even the smallest details are perfect, from the black garlic butter to the firecracker salt rimmed glass of the Paloma cocktail. After 2 visits and an adventurous attitude towards ordering I can say every mouthful, every taste is beautiful. The staff are charming and fun, knowledgeable and welcoming, the atmosphere warm and exciting. This is without doubt one of Bristol's finest. Booked again!

Absolutely stellar restaurant on north street. Range of seating including bar seating and tables of different size. Staff are really knowledgeable and passionate about food and drink. The menu changes frequently with what’s available. Knowledgeable about intolerances and can make adaptations. They have a ‘menu du jour’ for £30 on weekdays which makes the food quite substantially cheaper if you’re happy to try a pre-set menu. About half of the menu is vegetarian friendly. Strong recommend for a pretty fancy meal. We spent about £50 on 3-4 plates and a mocktail at lunch. They take walk ins but booking is easy, definitely hook in advance to avoid disappointment

- We visited COR this weekend and had such a gorgeous evening. The interior of the restaurant had such a cosy and inviting vibe to it and we felt so comfortable. The staff were absolutely wonderful and service was on point for a restaurant that has only recently opened. - We ordered 6 plates including a dessert to share ; - Suffolk chorizo; 6 week cured sausage, sweet, spicy & bitter, guindilla - Mushrooms on toasted sourdough, shallot, thyme, hazelnut, Armagnac - Cannellini beans, lemon beurr - Hereford beef onglet, celeriac, potato & gruyere dauphinoise, red wine jus - Cornish cuttlefish cooked over fire, Calabrian 'nduja, salsa verde - Chocolate mousse, almond dentelle, olive oil, sea salt All of the dishes were so wonderful in their own way. The cannellini beans surprised me the most, the lemon within the dish was the weirdest but most pleasant flavour I’ve ever experienced. So warming and comforting, they were incredible. The beef onglet was absolutely brilliant, the dauphinoise potato was sensational. We shared everything but I could’ve eaten every bit of that to myself. The mushrooms on sourdough was so deliciously rich, with the hazelnuts it was a wonderful combination of different textures. The cuttlefish was something I’ve never tried before but I loved the squid like texture. However personally for me, the nduja was just a bit too spicy, so slightly overpowered everything else. Lastly the chocolate mousse was the perfect end to everything. How could you not choose to end a perfect meal with a deliciously decadent chocolate dessert. I would love to return to the restaurant in a few months to try some of their new ideas. For anyone in Bristol, you must go here !!

We walked in on a whim and it was one of our best foodie decisions of the year. The food was really delicious....creative, fresh and imaginative. The service was flawless. We particularly appreciated how the Strawberry Bellinis were made with fresh strawberries pureed there and then by sieve! The prices are very reasonable. Cor team, suggest you increase your service charge from 10% (too low) to 12% (still VFM) and thank you for a great evening!

We went to this restaurant for lunch. The dishes are certainly all very good and tasty, well presented, the concept is to share the different courses at the table. Sometimes, however, the price seemed too expensive compared to the serving (for example simple tomatoes with goat's cheese) and in my opinion this aspect could be fixed a bit!

Wonderful menu du jour for lunch today with my better half. Every dish was superb, service was warm and friendly and the setting is contemporary and simple. I would have preferred to pay more for a larger glass of wine but there didn’t seem to be the option to do so. Highly recommended for a treat or a special occasion in an increasingly hip part of Bristol.

First we had a very unpleasant situation with staff about a possibility to cansel or change our reservation dates. And the menu was unreadable (to many fancy words) The food was interesting. Even fancier than the menu. But it turned out to be a good experience because of 2 things. A very patient young waitress tirelessly explaining every choice in the menu. And deserts 6 stars for the deserts 🥰

Cosy restaurant, Good atmosphere. Menu is done more like a tapas style tasting options so we tried pretty much most dishes on the menu. Well presented and really good fresh quality ingredients.
