Great place good Indian food loved it and a very good price

Mediocre food if I’m being honest. Strange set up the pub and restaurant are signed differently above separate doors but it’s all one area inside. The young lad serving was very polite, professional and attentive. As was the barman.

I can't praise it enough. A group of five us arrived late but were treated to outstanding selection of alesand lagers with service from the vivacious Charlotte and resident cheeky chappy Jamie. I had a chicken jalfrezi which should be mandatory tasting for any potential vegans ,to point out the fault in their thinking. For a side I ordered fresh keema naan which I only got to enjoy through judicious forking of my companions. Our irish accents granted us an audience with the raconteur landlord who told us tales of his days running some of the best known pubs in Dublin , and his charming wife.Its dog friendly policy was evident in the comfortable beer garden where Oscar sat on his pillow like royalty. God may be irish but when he fancies a fantastic curry with friendly people he heads to the Elephant and Castle. We will return.

Walked in with a few friends for a couple of drinks. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Beer was great, stayed on for food in the Indian restaurant which was excellent. Got chatting to Alan the owner, made us feel right at home. Great experience.

The Elephant and Castle has very friendly and funny staff, they add to a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. They have a large beer garden and the Indian food that we got was excellent. Overall 10/10

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff, especially Jamie, were so friendly and helpful. As vegetarians, my husband and I were delighted to be given a special vegetarian/vegan menu. The choices were wonderful! Prompt service and absolutely amazing food. Our friends, not vegetarian, also really enjoyed their meals. Jamie kindly packed up the food I was unable to eat-too full. We took it home and had it for lunch today. Still fantastic taste. We would highly recommend this Indian restaurant.

Good pint of Worthington, well presented and very friendly staff. Restaurant server very helpful, no rush and food kept warm. Good quality Indian takeaway. My choice was very good, tasty, spicy but not too hot. Good quantity and I was full and satisfied by my meal.

Tried the Zaika Indian restaurant which is part of the Elephant & Castle.The food is absolutely gorgeous.Good portions,good price and service.Can thoroughly recommend it.

Food is delicious, tasty and always hot but a bit pricey perhaps and only 2 potatoes in the bombay potatoes is a bit stingy I feel.

We went here last night 4 of us for an Indian meal, the food was lovely and tasty, plus not overly expensive, place was clean warm, staff were very helpful as well, we had a lovely evening and was not rushed like some restaurants always trying to rush you, we will definitely go back was great

If I could give zero stars I would. Get abused and called names for giving a review. Exactly my point on the professionalism of this “pub”. I’ll say it again We visited this place and were stared down by the staff. The men working there ogled my daughters. The food made us sick. My advice is drive 5 mins to next establishment

Not as good as normal not sure if there is a new chef or they are using a different meat supplier but the lamb chops were really touch they are normally very good which is why I have given 3 stars due to passed experience if I was judging the Elephant and Castle on last nights meal I would have given only one star.

A hidden gem of an Indian restaurant. The food is spectacular, very well presented and portioned. Staff are super friendly and helpful... low price for 10/10 food.

Superb food, actually, possibly the best Indian food I've ever had. The drinks arrangement was a little frustrating though. The restaurant is unlicensed resulting in you having to have a tab with the bar. If this can be resolved then the place would be perfect. 5* none the less!

The food was faultless. Our group had a round of poppadoms with various dips as a starter. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, I ordered a Lamb Bhuna with Garlic Rice. Very tasty and plenty of it. Everything on the menu seemed very reasonably priced. The staff were courteous. The Elephant and Castle is a nice setting in which to enjoy a meal and a drink and pass time with friends or family. Recommended.

I have visited the indian restaraunt in this Inn on at least six times, with guests, over the last two years and always been given quick and courteous service. The standard of food has been excellent with a very good choice. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Cute and small not a lot of choice in cask beer though. Happy to pop in for a cheeky pint with the dogs after a long walk.

Terrible. We waited 2 hrs for a starter. Then 3 hrs for a main. All of which was very low quality for a curry house standard. Avoid, please. Customer service was not even remotely sympathetic. Of you're lucky and the food comes quicker, do t expect it to be any better. I'm

Terrible, we waited 2 and a half hours to receive some fairly bland curry. This was delivered as if nothing was wrong. Gave a very poor start to what was meant to be an excellent night

Is this a four star Michelin-type 5 star rating? No Are the staff really friendly? Yes, is the food selection good? Very much so. I found that their presentation was really sympathetic to myself and the food, almost tapas-like with bowls and terrines that could be mixed or tipped as a liked rather than being proscribed by being served on a plate Overall I found the experience to be great and the bill utterly fair for the service received since this is after all a bar with a restaurant together, if you're going to be in this town for a night or more then make this the place you go to at least once Looking forward to coming back on a summers evening or during the day to make use of what looked like outdoor seating 😊

What a nice place to visit. The building is fairly contemporary (it's ONLY 300 years old) and the manager has a genuine Shawbury accent, but that aside its a great place to go for a variety of things: you might want to consider meeting some new people and getting to know them - this would be a good place for that. You could take your family, your friends, colleagues, heck you could probably take your dog i guess ( i don't have a dog :( ) and they would all have a good time, I mean that's what pubs are for so why not give this one a go!
