Hated it. Definitely not my vibe. A local place with old chairs and not enough lighting.

A nice little corner of Spain in Bristol. Simple, but delicious tapas dishes, the tortilla is very nice. Frequent live Flamenco performances, plus plenty of other activities. Lovely atmosphere.

Great little hidden place in Southville! Super friendly owner, great regular events (live music, Spanish workshops & great authentic food). Support local businesses ❤️

One of the best kept secrets in Bristol, this little gem of a venue is just a stones throw from Ashton Gate stadium. The proprietor (David) is a really friendly guy and makes you feel really welcome There's so much going on in the venue it's worth looking at their social media to keep up to date

The owner is so friendly, warm and welcoming. The tortilla (Spanish omelette) is one of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in Spain for 12 years. The sangria is so good. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Bristol.

Lovely, homely and quirky. Lots of character. What I would say is that the Tapas portions could be a little larger, but all the food we had was absolutely delicious. Invisible Apples played here and were great. Would definitely recommend this place for a date night or if you fancy something a little different.

It's a lovely, cosy and really friendly place, a bit like a snug. After a long winter lockdown, it was so nice to be amongst other people, and to sample Spanish food while listening to wonderful guitar playing.

The Tapas was authentic and delicious, the wine was beautifully selected, the atmosphere was fantastic the music was unbelievable, honestly the talent from the invisible apples was truly awe inspiring I thought their hands on the instruments were about to catch fire! Can’t recommend this gig experience enough I have also taken part in a Spanish course which was also a top quality learning experience

Very fine music played here. With minimal space for the musicians, the resulting inclusiveness draws you in. The food matches the high quality of the music.

A great little place that adds even more charm to Bristol

My daughter Hannah and I have been doing the El Principito Book club online during Lockdown. The course has been really interesting and a lovely learning atmosphere to be part of. David is very welcoming to new students and has a good way of encouraging everyone to be involved. Would highly recommend this club. We are nearly finished with the El Principito Book and will be moving onto Alice in Wonderland soon. Es la leche! Gracias a David para organizada en Zoom! Buena idea!

Loving el Rincon's book club (Club de Lectores) just finishing the Little Prince which was interesting if dare I say a little weird? And about to start Alice en el Pais de las Maravillas (you guessed it Alice in Wonderland!). Can't wait! Good fun and an excellent way to brush up your grammar.

A lovely place to learn Spanish whether that is on Zoom or, in normal times, in the atmospheric little Tapas bar that is El Rincon. The staff are professional while being good fun too. They really go out of their way to be flexible with everyone's needs. At El Rincon you get so much more than Spanish tuition. You will experience a real flavour of Spain. I recommend El Rincon to anyone who wishes to learn Spanish in an informal atmosphere with dedicated and experienced language teachers.

Delicious! Lovely helpful waiting staff and a cosy atmosphere. The food is sooo tasty and reasonably priced when considering the quality is very good. Feels like being on holiday :) an absolute gem of a place. Just don't go on match day- its incredibly busy!!

Nice place, food is great, la cervesa mas rica del mundo - estrella galicia - :)) i am roumanian and i understand spanish language and culture, this is why i come to this place, intimate atmosphere. Must come here at least once to have a great beer and music. 10+

Amazing place, amazing owners, amazing food!!!

Like a mini Spanish holiday in the middle of Bristol! Loads of authentic tasty tapas to choose from. And the bar man/waiter gave 100% top-notch service - throwing in some Spanish and making us feel like old friends. The decor is rich and warm with running medals hung around the place. We even found a dinky fairy door in the brickwork. We were there for the live music which was fab, but the evening out in Spanish Bristol was the true highlight.

I couldn't help but smile after tasting each new plate that came from the kitchen. Absolutely fantastic food, great value for money and a charming atmosphere make this an easy new favourite place :D

The host was so hospitable. All the staff made us so welcome. The food was excellent. Will certainly be back, wished we lived closer.

Out celebrating a move to Southville on Friday night Seafood paella for four, a bottle of very decent Rioja, and a very good Jumilla which for £23 compared well with wines I have at home for the same price retail, not at restaurant prices. Sundry lagers, starters and so on for a total bill of £123 including gratuities, so excellent value. The intimate atmosphere in the small bar was enhanced by the excellent singer Michaela Fedeczko, and Dale Hambridge on the keys, playing bluesy numbers, which really deserved full not partial attention. Recommended, and I hope to visit as often as funds allow!

Such a great evening. This bar is filled with character. We came to listen to the flamenco music and dancing but loved the bar for its vibrant atmosphere, good food and Spanish beer on tap. The bar owner and other staff member were lovely and quick to bring all our dishes despite the place being packed. Go listen to flamenco loco, a local Bristol band. They play the last Wednesday of each month!

Great food, great atmosphere and lovely people.

Lovely chef and authentic, atmospheric place to relax for a drink. But don't bother eating here. It's hideously over priced and the food is quite disgusting. £14 for two types of greasey sliced salami that seemed very similar to a cheap one I bought in Aldi, a bit of quite dry ham (with little flavour) and a couple of those bread sticks broken up and chucked on top. You could do better for £3 at home. Soggy olives and tight on the olive oil and bread. Nice calamari. Kicked out at 10pm as the neighbours complain if you leave at 10.01pm. Just come for a drink and save your money. Sorry for a harsh but honest review.

What a superb little place. Friendly staff who also made a slice of tort into a birthday cake for my wife and sang happy birthday. The girl who served us gave us the best, most friendly service we have ever had. The Chef knows his stuff and came over for a chat. The food was excellent too! We will be there again soonest. 19 May 2018.

El Ricon! where do I start... I booked to eat here for valentines with my beautiful girlfriend, i rang up to make the booking, left an answer phone message. The staff took the time to call me back and reserve a table. I asked if I could leave some flowers and a card ready for when I arrived and they went out of there way to tend to my every need. The outcome .... I had a wonderful evening, gorgeous food, great atmosphere and most importantly, I am now trusted to make dinner plans. Thanks team!

I have been here a couple of times. My Nan's friend David is the owner. It is a fantastic little place (near Ashton Gate Stadium). The waitresses are lovely as well. Keep up the good work, David.

El Rincón (aka The Spanish Bar) is a tiny bistro full of personality. It's a brilliant place to grab an after-work drink or start a night-out, especially if you happen to visit on a night with live music. The acts I've seen have all been pretty impressive and suit the small venue well. I haven't tried the food yet but the tapas menu looks promising.

What a pretty quaint little restaurant. The staff were lovely, the food was a mixture of tasty little dishes. The Sangria was delicious. A friendly atmosphere. Would be advisable to book in advance.
