Truly the WORST dining experience I've ever had. Most of the positive reviews are old, as it used to be slightly better previously but has significantly declined. The food was tasteless, but the main issue is the appalling service. From start to finish, the manager was rude and patronizing. He began by trying to convince us that we didn't have a reservation. Even after showing him the reservation, he insisted we made a mistake and booked for the wrong day. This continued, despite us showing him the reservation with the correct date on my phone. I had to wait an hour and a half, and ask the staff 4-5 times just to get 1 drink as they kept forgetting and ignoring me , only to get the wrong one after all that. I drank water the entire evening. No apologies were offered. They forgot to bring out a couple of things we ordered, but at that point, we didn't bother mentioning it as it would have been too much hassle and more bad attitude from the staff. I could honestly continue detailing how bad it was. Nobody asked us how our meal was, nobody checked if we needed anything, we had to fight for waiters attention when it was just moderately busy. This is the worst restaurant I've been to GLOBALLY.

Tutto molto molto buono Una cucina tipica spagnola , di qualità solo leggermente rivisitata in chiave moderna senza alterare i sapori.

El Norte was recommended as a good quality Spanish restaurant but we were disappointed … very disappointed. Where to start? The roast aubergine was tasteless, the olives were tasteless and the jamon iberico was poor quality, pre-cut product with few white flecks. The Spanish omelette was ok but no one could taste any manchego … cheese, yes, but not manchego. But the biggest joke was the “pan tumaca” which was prepared at the table like steak tartar … had us sniggering away as the waiter applied the garlic, olive oil & tomato on toast! Hilarious table theatre! As was the crooning from the singer and the two girls dancing a sensual routine … less flamenco, more Strictly Ballroom. And be aware of the price of the wines. So an expensive Disney interpretation of Iberian cuisine. There are many better Spanish restaurants.

El Norte is a sophisticated addition to the Mayfair dining scene. Service was very efficient and the dishes beautifully executed. Wine list a little on the expensive side but offers an eclectic range of wines from various Spanish regions. Would definitely recommend.

This newly opened Spanish restaurant is located on a street lined with art galleries and boutique stores. We visited on a Tuesday for dinner and the place was not too busy. The musicians were wonderful! They performed lounge inspired Spanish music which really raised the ambience. The tapas were all solid though none were extraordinary. We ordered just two main courses, the Iberian pork and the steak. They were devoid of accompaniments so perhaps we ordered the wrong items for what we wanted. The cava sangria was EXCELLENT!

Servizio eccellente e cortese. Lo consiglio assolutamente.

I have heard about El Norte for a long time so last week we decided to go and try it out. Honestly, the food quality is outstanding, service was amazing and we had one of the best oysters ever. Coming back for sure!

If you are looking for classically prepared Spanish food in an elegant setting, then El Norte is for you. The two of us ate an outstanding meal, experienced mostly first class service, and enjoyed the luxury of the quietly elegant ambiance. But it is not expensive as the bill started with a £24.50 charge for a Beefeater gin and tonic! The one quirk of service was that the server flatly stated that the chef would not prepare a Dover Sole to be well done. As a result, my wife enjoyed the traditional Catalan Pan Tumaca and then a green salad. For me the Ensalada de Ventresca was an exceptional serving of raw tuna belly. Then, the well presented and freshest Pulpa a la Brasa was an outstanding dish with the octopus being succulently cooked to perfection. A feature to accompany the cocktails were the uniquely flavored house prepared marinated olives. Next time we are in London there is little question that we will return - “Hasta Pronto” as the check says.

This is like having a tiny piece of Spain in London . Excellent , albeit rather small range of tapas. Churros and hot chocolate is wonderful too. However- Either their pricing or their portion size is very wrong?!

my Spanish friends took us there to try authentic Spanish tapas and beer. The interior of the place make an impression, but moreover is so peaceful and feels cosy and comfortable. Food is freshly made, full of flavour, colourful and dishes represent different parts of Spain. Great selection but not sure if worth the money, quite pricy but hey - its central London! However, I would love to go back :)

On a recent night out in London, with visiting friends, we decided to catch up early for dinner, seeking sustenance and sanctuary before "The Lion King" roared into our evening. Our friends were a travelling family of two joyously tired parents and their two sons with beaming smiles, full of perpetual joy and contagious energy. We decided the menu at Wahaca looked good, and noted it was a large, busy, family-friendly haven right near the theatre that promised both good food and quick service - exactly what we needed. We grabbed a couple of serves of the guacamole for the kids, these were deliciously simple and were served with tortilla chips. While the kids’ told stories about their exploring of London and a dramatic recent loss of a tooth - I think the adults ate much more of the guacamole. The Mexico City Nachos hit the table, loaded with Trealy Farm chorizo, black beans, and a nice combo of salsas - I was glad to give them a go. I ordered one of the Summer Special "Pea & Mint Empanadas" - I thought they’d be better based on the ingredients and write up, but I was happy to give them a try. We got the Crispy Cauliflower Bites and Sweet Potato 'Bravas', they were good also, but the sweet potato bravas weren’t that crispy, but were still nice, served with jalapeno allioli and hibiscus salsa. For drinks all the adults decided that we were craving coffee instead of booze, but fate intervened cruelly as the waitress told us the coffee machine was broken. This led me to order a Coffee Tequila—a cheeky detour that I enjoyed. For mains, we went with a range of the tacos - chicken, beef and fish - and a chicken quesadilla to share. The kids enjoyed their own delightful bowls from the kids menu. No complaints with any of these and they came out fast as promised. We got the Churros for desert. After we paid the bills and prepared to leave, our waitress walked past us confidently and delivered a round of coffees to the table next to ours. It was a strange, hilarious twist that could not have been better planned or timed. It was a great space and a fantastic pre-show feast which allowed for a good value meal, some nice conversation, good laughs and just the right amount of absurdity before a magical night of theatre.
