The food is SO SO good here! I had a veggie dish (cannot remember the name) and absolutely loved it. The steaks and fish is always cooked perfectly. My son had a pizza that was bigger than his head!! The staff always go above and beyond, so friendly and attentive.

Asistieron a una fiesta para mis tíos 90 cumpleaños. El servicio es razonable para un grupo grande. La comida era buena.

Muy decepcionado, ensalada, no hay mucho triste nada. No volveré. Necesitarán su juego si quieren que la gente vuelva.

Large menu, with loads if fish/seafood dishes and several steak options. Will also let you order off the bencoolen bar menu if you prefer. Have been here several times, most recently with some friends. Food is very good, with some different/more unusual dishes that are really worth trying. Delicious Spanish style seafood dishes. Relaxed friendly pub atmosphere, ideal if you want a restaurant quality meal, without any of the stuffiness of an upmarket restaurant.

Eaten here many times. One of my all time favourite restaurants. Food is well prepared and imaginative with out going over the top. Portion size is good and a very pleasant staff. Highly recommended!!

Went to the El Barco restaurant. Had a meal from their menu and I wasnt disappointed. The food was tasty and filling. I returned the following sunday and had their sunday roast. It was delicious :) would recommend for both food and hospitality. The bloke behind the bar with a foreign accent went out his way to make us feel welcome.

We came across El Barco wile driving around the Bude area trying to find a restaurant that was not fully booked. We were made very welcome and the waitress was very friendly and courteous. I ordered a medium/rare steak with some trepidation as my experiences in the past with other restaurants have been less than satisfactory when it comes to steak being cooked to my liking. This was SPOT ON - nicely cooked on the outside and a lovely shade of red in the middle. It was absolutely amazing. My wife enjoyed her meal also (a chicken dish), The starters were excellent and generous without being over filling, so the main could be enjoyed. We went for ice cream as dessert but 3 scoops proved too much for both of us. The co-owner, Lorraine, spent some time chatting with us and made us feel very welcome. The price was definitely VFM. We would recommend this restaurant and will be more than happy to go there again if we are in the area.

Game of cones is a short walk from the centre of Fowey. If you don’t fancy a walk there are 2 car parks minutes away. Offering a wide range of ice cream flavours, with something for all the family including sorbets and dog ice cream! £18 for 3 cones(honey comb, biscotti and lemon sorbet), 1 tub (2 scoops of mint ice cream) and a dog ice cream for under £18 great price!

As we were staying in Carbis Bay (and having already really enjoyed The Ugly Butterfly) we chose to visit Walter's as well. Booking by telephone was easy and I was impressed that the person taking our booking asked about dietary requirements. We were, however, less impressed when we arrived at the restaurant and the staff appeared both disinterested to see us AND confused by being asked what for a gluten free menu for my wife. It took several minutes for them to manually mark up a menu with a pen to indicate what was gluten free, something we would expect to be ready at a venue in this price range. The food itself was very nice, which is the rescuing factor for this review, but when we pay this sort of price for food we also expect a nice ambience and friendly welcome. This contrast is made especially clear by our having eaten at both adjacent restaurants during the same stay (Beach Club and Ugly Butterfly) where both the staff and the vibes could not have been more friendly, welcoming and fun. We would not choose to return to this restaurant with both these alternatives being only a matter of metres away.

We hired a beautiful field on the Cornish cliffs with the most spectacular views. So lucky to have found such a hidden gem for our perfect wedding venue. Absolutely wonderful owners and extremely helpful. Could not have had a better day! Thankyou so much for allowing us to use your stunning wedding field. It was one to remember! X

We've been to the PBC on and off for more than twenty years, from when it would close for the winter, from when Sir Terry Frost would stride in for Sunday lunch in his red beret, from when it used to have quirky children's buckets on the table for the cutlery, and most especially for the frequently changing and interesting menus. Sadly, nowadays the menu stays pretty the same and uninspired, the portions scant while all the flair has seeped away, not that this is unique in Cornwall restaurants. But add to this the odd set menu that boasts mains at £20 but if you think of opting for fish curry there a supplement of £15! Fish curry for £35! Fish Curry has been on the PBG menu for years...is it still in development? We'll leave it be for a few years, see if the restaurant rediscovers some of the elan and distinctive charm that it has so obviously lost.

Bought the family to the lovely Beanys cafe - I had the gutbuster breakfast it was awesome. Kids were well fed with a good choice - great value for money.
