Absolutely the tastiest Carvery Iv had in Llanelli Delicious food and lovely friendly staff , my new favourite place for food 😊😊

Staff 100% Food 100% Welcome 100% Setting 100% From the moment the door was opened for us, till the time we left ( unlike some places we were not rushed to finish the day ) treated like long lost friends. I was thrown a surprise birthday party last night and was amazed the staff went above and beyond made the night great will be using again

The staff were the nicest people and the drinks were absolutely fantastic. The dj music was amazing up until the very latest, we had no issues with the surprise party and the staff even helped us out with making it look authentic. The absolute nicest place to go for a drink or a meal, 100000% recommended.

First Xmas do for me since 2019 after lockdowns and was such a letdown. We were accommodated on tables in an area so narrow that getting out for the bar or to the loo was next to impossible without making 2 people either side, slide along the let you out. Starter came and had ordered Paté but apparently the order hadn't gone through, was told basically it's soup, like it or lump it. Actually I didn't want soup, was looking forward to the Paté. Main course came round, no space anywhere on the table for the extra veg, then noticed mine had some detritus in among the turkey, possibly a folded sachet of flavouring, it was sent back and replaced quickly. Then came dessert, Xmas pudding was replaced by a chocolate sponge (at least o think it was that) but it was dry and not moist as a cake should be, the forest fruits were still frozen. Staff were excellent and the youngsters serving did a sterling job, as did the lady directing service (Stella?) however it wasn't good enough and the experience barely warrants a 2 from 5. Really need to do better if they want people to come back.

Went for our Christmas Dinner last night hot dog rolls for bread rolls they were dry not the right starters were given the plates were cold food was cold the staff are rude there was a big gala event at the same time and think all attention was given to them smaller tables are important too both myself and my husband our chefs and this was the worst we have had for a long time training is needed here

Went for a Christmas meal all pre ordered They said the only starter orders they had through was for soup. Half of us had ordered prawn cocktail So no starters Main course was plentiful but COLD both plates and food Dessert had mixed frozen fruit on the side which was still frozen Service was ok Ladies toilet dirty with body fluids of various types on the wall They did not want to give a discount on the poor food and missing courses They were more concerned about a Rugby function of a famous local team than the ordinary public

My daughter had a year 6 leavers party. The staff were brilliant, the food was amazing and the venue was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble !! Would highly recommend for a party or even for a family get together

Somos un grupo de 4 que han estado viniendo a Llanelli no te saldría por un fin de semana de golf durante los últimos 5 años. Nos encontramos con EJ'S hace 4 años y me encanta el lugar. El personal es fantástico, siempre han sido amables y han hecho lo imposible para asegurarse de que se sentirán cómodos y bien atendidos. Hemos comido en el restaurante y el bar y siempre ha sido excelente (incluso en las concurridas noches de sábado). Podemos recomendar el filete de cerdo y costilla costilla combo!

Basically this place is okay for a quiet drink, even on a Saturday night. It's not unpleasant but it just doesn't set the world on fire. I might call again but wouldn't like to make any promises.

Approx 2weeks ago my Sister and I were in Llanelli town centre and so decided to visit EJs for coffee and a toasted teacake each (as we have in the past)

We were a party of 13 and we all prebooked our meals for last night , every one ordered different things , my lasagne was beautiful one lady had the hunters chicken it was far too spicy for her if you like a hot and spicy dish this is the one to have one lady had a steak cooked through but ordered medium rare so was a bit disappointed everyone else enjoyed their food . The service was great and so was the setting. I will go back in the next month with my husband ..

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals - scampi and salad, EJ stack (Huntsman's chicken), Surf and Turf - perfectly cooked, attractive on the plate. Extra thanks to Naomi who was our waitress. See you again soon.

Booked Sunday lunch for grans birthday. We booked a table for four. The carvery was good and the staff were polite. The deserts Apple crumble.,and chocolate fudge cake were tasty. We all enjoyed our Sunday lunch

Very disapointed a complete and utter shamble no need to say more. A few people in our party ordered stake, they were not satisfide to the way it was cooked as to the way they had been asked.The staff were nice and were trying to help as much as possible.Idid take aside one of the staff to explain about how bad the toilets were. Again it will be the last time i shall eat there and so will quite a few others in the party of 14.

attended a large birthday party...tables nicely laid.....prices not to bad.....service very slow....you cant offer a full menu for 50 people...waiting staff having to shout out who's ordered the meals as they brought them from the kitchen...taking names would have made sense and a smaller choice of dishes should have been offered ....but food was nice....

Had a wonderful breakfast here and great value. My son said they were the best sausages he had ever had...he must have been impressed! There is a good menu and food is always served promptly by friendly staff. The cocktails are delicious and the place itself is very clean and has a classy relaxing atmosphere.

Smart bar with nice relaxed atmosphere - perfect for a chilled out Sunday lunch or a drink anytime. Plenty of TV screens if sports what you want but not over powering if that's not Your thing. Food works well in the bar or the restaurant and service is good

The service and meals were diabolical The main meal was nearly an hour after the dessert , then the sweet more than an hour and out of 12 of us 2 didn't even turn up . The food wasn't hot all the chips had skins on them which we wern't told Very poor night spoilt a birthday party Had previous meals at this resturaunt which have never been really good Would not visit again and certainly could not recommend to anyone .

went EJ's for lunch on wednesday, 2 meals for £10we both had excellent meals,the only downside was we did wait a fair bit for our meals and the place was'nt busy.

Found this place by accident on a night out for my husbands birthday. The atmosphere was lovely and even though it was very busy the staff were friendly and polite. We enjoyed it so much we returned for Sunday carvery the following weekend. Again the service was great and the food lovely, however it could have been a little warmer.

Came here Sunday for carvery the meat was lovely but the roast potatoes didn't even look or taste like them. Asked 3 times for a glass of water that never came so had to go to the bar and ask it myself. Desserts were really nice. Would come back but probly not for carvery.

We went as a family for the third Christmas dinner in a row. Our first two experiences were fabulous. However this year the quality of both food and service was appalling. We arrived for our sitting at 2pm, and we're still waiting for our starters at 3pm. The chap with the Xmas jumper serving from the carvery was lovely and very polite and friendly, but the two waitresses serving our table were beyond rude. They clearly did not want to be there, not one of them offered a "hello", smile, or apology for the long waits and numerous mistakes. One girl in particular spent the entire afternoon rolling her eyes when serving us, and even had the audacity to mutter under her breath "oh for God's sake, just leave will you!" towards the end of our sitting. This was particularly upsetting for us all on Christmas Day no less. The pate starter was nice, but served with bread, with the idea of this dish being the mix of smooth and crunch (toast / crackers) the point was completely missed. We had to ask for our sorbet when the waitress missed it and told us to go get our dinner instead. The dinner was nice enough but by no means anything like last years quality, and sadly we were all unable to eat our school dinner style deserts. When we spoke to the manager to discuss our disappointment we were given no apology and were instead confronted by a speech of excuses, blaming both us and other diners for the poor food quality and time management. Will sadly definitely not return.

Hi 15 colleagues and myself recently booked into Ejs for out staff xmas party on the 5th Dec in the function room. Firstly I have to say the carvery was excellent, very tasty and found the dining experience organised, pleasant and not chaotic at all seeing the venue was extremely busy and the function room full and we ate at 8.30, we found the drinks prices very reasonable also.After we finished our food it was time for the entertainment, there were two shows on that night, firstly there was a lady who performed some older songs and was getting the crowd going and then a young man who came on who was absolutely brilliant, after speaking with the staff I later found out he was a local lad called J Miller exceptional voice, easy on the eye and had everyone on their feet.A very enjoyable evening was had by us and would definitely book back again without hesitation.

Forget the chippy best freshly cooked fish and chips around. Amazing value for such good quality food.

This ha been our most amazing breakfast ever! We had the stuffed banana frenchtoast, and the bayfront scramble is to die for with fruit. The atmosphere can't get any better and to top it off our waiter Brianna was the sweetest ever! Returning tomorrow for sure!

My friend and I were visiting Llanelli and were looking for somewhere to have a meal and drink. We came across EJ's which was a bit different to our usual eating visits.It was a very nice clean place with a good menu at reasonable prices with friendly obliging staff. It was relaxing and the seats were comfortable.A good selection of beers and wines also.One more added to our list of preferences.

We had our wedding reception at EJS due to it matching our colour scheme and being close to our service venue. The management are fantastic for event planning and help any ways they can. All the staff were excellent throughout the process and on the night. The food was amazing!!! I would recommend going for a Sunday dinner any day of the week.

Very friendly bar / restaurant in the center of Llanelli. Prices are exceptionally good. Place is new, clean and welcoming. Would be a great location for large groups, staff dos etc. Staff are very nice and helpful. Big plus to this place. Food is OK, probably matches price range. Portions are huge though! My advice would be to go for the smaller meal options. Trust me! All in all recommended.

A newer establishment. Has good modern facilities, very popular for Sunday lunch with large capacity for guests.Service is ok.

Visited with work colleagues. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good can be pre ordered if big party. Food was served quickly and very good. Everyone had empty plates! Very reasonably priced, food and drink. In the town centre but had a car park close by. Close to other bars/pubs if you are out for the night. Large function room available. Very modern deco and inviting.

We eat at ejs quite often and ive got to say the last time we ate there was fab. Fish and chips, mixed grill and a peppered steak omg beautiful. The staff are great and the atmosphere is chilled. Recommend it to everybody.

Popped in on a quiet evening and decided to try the fish and chips. The fish was freshly battered and so large it covered the whole plate and the home made chips were fantastic. The menu has changed since I last visited and is full of all the classics and then some. I would highly recommend giving it a go.

We ate here today, arriving on spec, the carvery and sweets were delicious, service good and very reasonably priced. This is the third time that we have eaten here, on different days each time plus two wedding parties and have always found food to be good and service excellent.

Went here during the weekday for lunch with a couple of friends the place it's self is very modern looking with a beautiful restaurant. The waitress who served us was brilliant and very helpful. I ordered the bbq chicken stack which came with a choice of potatoes I was told the chips were homemade so I chose them " they were delicious!! Myself and friends all agreed the food was beautiful and amazing value. They also have a function room available for hire which I have considered booking for future birthday parties. The waitress gave me lots of information with prices and a couple of menus for the food that would be available (hot and cold buffets, carvery and a set 3 course meal) I will defiantly be returning again after a wonderful experience.

Went here Saturday with some friends froze the heating was off all the time we were there only food on offer was burger and chilly food cold do your self a favour dont bother going to this town what a waste of time.The other problem was only one toilet for the whole place for men and women spent most of the night waiting to go to the toilet.The only good thing was the service this was good.

Had a Christmas party here and the hot car very was delightful. Really hot and tastyOnly problem was the choice of desserts.

Saturday night, approx 15 people on one table in the restaurant area, took 45 mins to get 2 glasses of wine, get seated, order 2 steaks, then be told due to high demand there were no steaks. Wine like sour vinegar, commented on that when paying to be told "" it's table wine!", if it's that bad- how about not selling it and offering a better wine? Would have paid more for better, but the option was a bottle of wine OR house wine by the glass! Don't waste your time, go somewhere better

We went for a family meal at EJS Restaurant in Llanelli. We all ordered something different from the extensive menu and every meal was excellent. The chef went the 'extra mile' and even made a special order for 2 of the younger members in the party. The food is very good value, the decor is smart and contemporary and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. This restaurant has become a family favourite and we will be visiting regularly from now on whenever we visit Llanelli.

This restaurant has a great new chef who produces high quality food at reasonable prices. The Lamb shank was fantastic. Food was served hot and was freshly prepared. The staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful. If the chef remains, I would definitely eat there again.

I had a Christmas lunch here in December as part of a group with limited mobility, the manager, Nick and his staff couldn't have been more helpful or polite. The meal was excellent and extremely well presented, at yesterday's meeting, all said that it was the best Christmas Lunch they had eaten.

We'd booked a 3 course festive meal in the restaurant on a busy Saturday night with friends which we hadn't seen in a while.The room was decorated beautifully, the waiter and manager were exceptionally helpful and gave us lots of choices of when we would like each course served.The food was really lovely and all served to our table. Main course, I had beef, it was really tender and very tasty. The vegetables were served in tureens and of perfect hot temperature. We were offered a break before desert, which we took. The manager asked whether we'd like him to reserve us a table to hear the singer in the main room, which was really thoughtful - we did and the singer was good. We stayed the whole evening. All round, a fantastic night, with fantastic food and fantastic service. Thank you EJs.

Visited on a Saturday evening with a small group of friends. It was very, very busy, but in spite of this the service was excellent and all of us enjoyed very good meals. Our only complaint was the choice and quality of the house wines.

We went here for my birthday as we heard that there was a new chef & the food was amazing! They were right! Best food in llanelli without a doubt, the steak melted in my mouth and the desserts are all home made. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I visited on Wednesday, we had been told by our son that there was a new chef and menu. The food was amazing the service was great. We will be going back with friends next week to show them we have found somewhere in Llanelli that is finally offering great food at affordable prices.

Went to this establishment on the word of a friend and was not expecting the quality of the food that we had it was very very good we had monk fish scampi to start and it was the best scampi I've had we also had lamb shank and ribeye which was cooked to perfection the sweets are home made and out standing expresso cream brûlée very clever dessert my partner had the chic fondant very nice well done keep up the good work and you will see us soon

I heard that a new chef had joined EJ's so decided to try it out on Wednesday night. I had goats cheese and beetroot starter which was delicious and followed that by the best lamb shank I have ever had. My husband had a monkfish scampi starter which i tried and will be having next time, followed by the steak. The food was on a different level to anything we have tried previously and if you like fine dining but not the silly prices I would suggest giving it a go. The home made desserts were fab I just could not manage one, but my husband had the expresso creme brulee with shortbread which was just gorgeous. I give it 10 out of 10 for taste, presentation and value for money. We will be coming again very soon.

We visited the restaurant because we thought the food was nice in the past (And at the time I had only visited twice in the past, and would be my third time). I knew the burger was delicious, and I suggested the burger to my auntie, why has also written a review. I would like to clarify something. In my auntie's review, she mentioned that she "didn't like the burger and her nephew had thought the same." Not at one point did I say it was nice, I said it was OK, as I didn't want to be rude or embarrassed. The burger was bland, overcooked, and we asked the gentleman over the bar if the beef was fresh, and he replied "Yes" therefore my auntie decided to have the burger. The burger was frozen, not fresh. It was a massive disapointment. If you had read my aunties review correctly, you would have noticed that she said " I politely mentioned I didn't like it and my nephew had thought the same." Therefore you would not have said that I said it was nice. This was not the first time the burger has tasted like that in this resteraunt. The second time it was bland as well. The only time I ever enjoyed that burger was my first visit there about a year ago. I will not be visiting this restaurant again. It should count as a complaint now as more than one individual has complained about it.

The staff and the food were good. The hall itself was a disappointment, the lighting strip over the head table was out and there was no ventilation which made it very stuffy and hot. How come the bar prices vary from the hall to the bar at the front? What a "CON", The staff were very helpful which is more than can be said for the owner he is a con-man in every sense of the word, NOT TO BE TRUSTED AT ALL!!!

Came to check out the live entertainment on Saturday night which I have to say was brilliant. Great atmosphere and we had a lovely meal. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out in a lovely venue. I had the seabass which was excellent and my husband had the steak which he thoroughly enjoyed. I am really surprised to find some negative comments on this site, I have never had a poor meal or service on any of my many visits to Ejs. I would say to anyone give it a go you wont be disappointed.

Only recently have I discovered EJ's in Llanelli after living here for quite a while, I have been for food with my daughter who thinks she is a food connoisseur, both in the week and are now regulars for the Sunday carvery and my daughter is always very complimentary and my food has always been tasteful, value for money with excellent service. I have read the previous reviews on Trip Advisor and feel that these comments are unjust, if something is not to your taste does not mean that the food is not good or that you wouldn't return?! I have had Gammon from the Sessile Oak which was not to my taste - I still go there but don't have the Gammon!! The staff have always been very polite even when they are busy and the place is spotlessly clean as I am really fussy with cleanliness. So I think a big thumbs up and would definitely recommend them, in fact I have dragged a few of my friends along on a Sunday with their family too. Keep doing what you are doing.

I've been visiting my family for the past few days and I decided to take my nephews and Father out for some lunch.As I don't live in the area, I was recommended to go to EJ's.When I arrived it was very busy but it was lunch time - it was to be expected. My nephews sat down with my Father and they looked at the menu. Nice, varied menu. One of my nephews went for the hunters chicken, my Father had steak and both myself and my other nephew went for the beef burger. I'd been told how good they were so we relaxed with our drinks waiting for our food.Our food took a while but it was busy and we were expecting a wait. The hunters chicken and steak looked lovely and they enjoyed their meals. The burgers looked lovely but the taste was unpleasant. My nephew said it wasn't the best but ate it. I took one bite and I couldn't eat another. I ate the chips but the burger was untouched apart from one small bite.As it was still busy, I was hoping someone would approach us and asked how the meals were so I could explain. We were the only table during our visit not to have been approached.A lovely waitress came to ask if we'd finished and she noticed the burger was untouched. I politely mentioned that I didn't like it and my nephew had thought the same. My nephew ate the burger thinking I'd be angry if it was wasted. My nephew was a bit embarrassed and said "she's being awkward" as a joke but then it made me look as though my complaint was not to be taken seriously ( I had words with him on the way home!)There was no apology but I didn't want to make a fuss as it's very rare I get to visit home. 4 meals and 4 drinks came to £45.00 so it was reasonable if the other 2 meals had been up to standard.I won't be returning to the restaurant but the staff were lovely, it was very clean and inviting.

Work lunch so there were quite a few of us but the meals were ready on time and everyone was happy with the food and service. the soft drinks were a bit expensive but that's true for most places

I went to EJ's to see a band for my birthday a few months ago. The band were great but unfortunately the staff and the drinks ruined my night. The pints were flat and there was obviously something wrong the barrel as the lager was dreadful. My pint glass hadn't been washed and when I asked to return it for another one, the barman accused me of wearing the lipstick that was on the glass. As it was my birthday, one of my friends had called up earlier in the evening and asked a woman to reserve us a table a little way away from the band so we could all chat but also hear the music. She confirmed this has been done. When we arrived there was no reservation to be found, which she then tried to blame on us. I have never been back since. I was bitterly disappointed. I never give bad reviews on tripadvisor and this place is by far the WORST bar I've ever been to. All they need is new management to make it better. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE BUY THIS CLUB AND MAKE IT BETTER!

We had our football presentation evening there this weekend and they catered for 84 people, 3 courses. The staff and management, especially Nick were really helpful. And everyone said afterwards the food was very nice. Everyone enjoyed it was a really good evening. Would definitely go back there for our Annual presentation.

I've been to Ej's previously and found it quite good but last week when we visited - the coffee was very strong and bitter although we had asked for a one shot coffee. The baguettes were quite tasty but the filling of turkey was quite bland and so was the beef. The Chef's jacket looked quite grubby and needed a wash. The staff apart from one young man were a little unfriendly, although the young man who served us was friendly and helpful. Quite disappointing and really I can't recommend it. Such a shame as the toilet was very clean indeed but the porthole window in the door leading from the kitchen was very fingermarked and it was only 12noon when we were there. Seems to be very mixed reviews - good to see that a lot of people have enjoyed the place but there are others who have had a disappointing experience. Such a shame as it could be really more pleasant to visit if more effort was put in to the place.

The service here is excellent really lovely staff who can't do enough for you. 8 of us went for brunch. All food was excellent well priced and beautifully presented, another gem in Llanelli

The whole.experince from booking to the day couldnt have been.a.more.proffesional helpful experience the staff were amazing and without a doubt value for money made the day so special would recomend this venue to anyone

Amazing day and night, Fab wedding venue, staff could not do enough to help. The food was amazing and everyone agreed. Nick and all the staff were friendly and made the room look fantastic, the price was amazing and you wont get a better deal elsewhere. Wish I could do it all again, I would recommend this place to any one xxxx Thanks guys x

My family and I visited for Sunday lunch, there were 5 of us and we all chose the Carvery (not that we saw or a menu or had any other options). We had to ask to have our drinks order taken and were rushed to go up to the Carvery. The Carvery overall wasn't too bad, I had the turkey and although it was dry it was rather tasty. They had run out of swede which wasn't the end of the world, but a bit of a shame. Our plates were cleared quite quickly, however we waited around 20 minutes to be asked if we wanted dessert and in the end we asked a boy who wasn't doing anything else if we could order our desserts, he took our order for 5 desserts (which are supposed to be free as we didn't have the option of only having one course so each had 2 course option). However the boy returned claiming they had run out of EVERYTHING except ice cream. We had booked a table so surely EJs should be able to cater for the number of tables they take bookings for? Therefore only 2 out of 5 of us had our "free" dessert and we were all quite disappointed. Will not be returning. We were not even offered a cheaper charge for the 3 of us who did not want ice cream for dessert. One word - pathetic.

Been there a few times hoping the service would improve. It hasn't. It's also over priced, but it's the wait that is so annoying. Haven't bothered this year at all. It's very unfortunate that Llanelli doesn't have a nice restaurant for us who have to work and get limited lunch breaks!

Its quite nice, Loved the modern posh interior, drinks are quite pricey but Im not complaining as it looks like a nice place, if you want an excuse it eat somewhere fancy and dress nice in Llanelli then defiantly check it out..

I recently booked this venue for my husband's 40th. I paid a deposit of £50 on the 7th Jan 14 to secure my booking. I was also informed that orders needed to be in at least 7 days before the function as the food is ordered in fresh. I was promised a tel call with menu choices (set menu) and prices by the latest 14th Jan 14. By the 16th Jan 14 I hadn't heard anything so I called in to see what was happening. I was told that I was on the list to contact back that night (convenient?). However as I was there we went through menu and price (main and dessert £13.95).I was then promised an e-mail to confirm by no later than 5pm on 17th Jan 14. But low and behold Friday came and went along with Saturday too. I called in again on Sunday 19th Jan 14 to leave my e-mail address in case there was a problem. Still nothing....I called over on the 20th to find that the premises doesn't even open on a Monday. I then called on the 21st and was told no managers in work that day! What a joke.I finally received a telephone call on 22nd Jan saying my e-mail was incorrect. I told him that not only did I give it on Thursday but I also left it again on the Sunday. I told him to cancel my function as I booked it 15 days ago and was nowhere further forward yet he wanted my final choices in 9 days time!!He then told me that he didn't need the orders 7 days before 24 hours would be fine. When questioned he said I thought I was making it easier for you!! ha ha ha who are they kidding. So much for fresh food.I then asked for refund of the deposit as the reason for my cancellation was because of their incompetence and was told I'll have to check with the owner (apparently manager can't decide that?)10 minutes later I had a tel call saying he would give me £11.95 per head at cost price. Cost price in who's world? the cost price of a curry or lasagne is not £11.95!! and my husband and I could have 1 bottle of fizz (champagne? more like cava!) for us too share. How generous. We'd have to drink very very slow.I told him I'd think about it. I knew I would cancel as I have no faith in them. When I called him back to confirm cancellation he told me no deposits are refundable. I would agree with that if it was my choice but it's their fault. SO be very very CAREFUL.
