Good food, good service. Probably the best Chinese takeaway in the West End of Leicester. Need to get a card machine.

We rarely have Chinese food as we can find it either too greasy or just full of salt. We have ordered from Eight fortunes before (twice) first time was nice and 2nd time whilst food tasted nice, it was lukewarm by the time I got home. I went today as we fancied something different having been abroad for 12 days. I mentioned to the lady on the counter, please make sure the food is hot. We got home and wow, the food was fantastic. Cooked well, well packaged and the overall dish looked great. As I mentioned above, we rarely order Chinese food but if the standards of this order are repeat, we will be ordering again soon. That was a seriously well cooked order today, thanks and you now have a returning customer!

BEST CHINESE IN LEICESTER!!! I’ve ordered here so many times and it so incredible each time! I can’t recommend the wings in peking sauce enough it’s 10/10 in my opinion.

I’m trapped in an abusive relationship with Eight Fortunes. I’ve just given them 5 stars which is absurd but the crispy quack quack has made me deliciously delirious! Their food keeps me coming back, and has done for years but I have to wait so long for my food to be delivered I end up going prawn crackers! I feel like they don’t care how empty my tummy is, it’s always over an hour. But I keep going back for their Supreme Singapore Fried Rice and Charismatic Chilli and Salt Prawns… Chefs Kiss to both these dishes! If it was via Uber Eats I’d have complained about the wait and got some dosh back, but alas it was ‘Dave the Delivery Driver’ and I ended up tipping him 50p. Now I’m not tight, but I’d waited nearly 2 hours and was Hank Marvin, so 50p felt like a king’s ransom; although Dave the DD looked at me like my name should have been Ebenezer! NO DAVE, 2 HOURS ISN’T OK! I nearly sacked the whole thing off, to opt for carrot sticks and hummus! But just as I was about to tuck into a swamp of the chickpea stuff, the doorbell went and there was Dave, with fortunes of which there were eight!!! I’m now fed and no longer hungry. I’ll no doubt order from them again because the foods good! And so the abusive relationship continues! You won this time 8F!

I was looking for a Chinese takeaway as there are soo many dotted around Leicester. I looked at Google reviews and came across Eight Fortunes. Placed and order over the phone for collection. Ordered Singapore fried noodles, chicken in black bean sauce, chicken balls. I've not had a Chinese for a while and I must say this shop did not disappoint although the chicken balls I felt were extra greasy. The shop was clean. Overall, I would recommend a visit.

Ordered food at 6.30 . Was happy 😃 . No good had arrived by 8.10 so rang the restaurant. Was told it’s was on its way 30 mins later no food in sight. Rang the restaurant to cancel it . Owner or who ever spoken to offered a discount on food but 2.5 hours wait . When told it on it way lol

The food was lovely will order from you again best Chinese I've had so far you be my takeaway from now on thank you very much.

I has a mushroom omelette last night from there,when I ate it it was like rubber think it was from the night before it was not nice when I was eating abit so that went in the waste bin, Felt sick all night and when I got up I won't have another from there,

We have just ordered £22 worth of food from here, we have been using this Chinese for 14 years on and off, they have got the order wrong and we get told they are too busy to put it right. We have had to come all the way to the shop to get our money back. We certainly won’t be using here again. They get the orders wrong on the phone every week and my son has to keep repeating it. It’s a terrible Chinese. Don’t even bother. It’s awful. Very rude staff and they can’t even understand what you say to them on the phone.

I absolutely love 8 Fortunes Take Away. I like to buy enough food to last 3 days (I am housebound disabled) and I have a particular fondness for their pancake rolls. So I tend to order 10 packets (2 rolls per packet) to go with the beef curry and beef chow mein main meals. It is always delivered piping hot and the delivery driver is always very happy, friendly and professional. 8 Fortunes is the only chinese take away that I use. 10/10 every single time. Best wishes 👍

Have ordered on several occasions from you and the food has always been lovely. Disappointed this evening on receipt of our order as having read on the takeaway menu when you spend £15 or more you receive free prawn crackers, we spent £25 total (all but 30p which I told the delivery driver to keep the change !) And no prawn crackers or anything else complimentary. Appreciate prices have risen but don't advertise a promotion if you don't fulfil it!

Food is excellent, the chicken in the curry is nice, I usually have to bin it from other places. Chicken balls didn't have any grease on them. Chips were nice as well. Only downside is that parking is a nightmare, even mid-week.

We use these very regular and on two occasions they have been closed but still sort our order out for us absolutely brilliant service the staff are friendly food is always good highly recommended

I have just ordered from Eight Fortunes as thought I would treat myself to a little Friday night takeaway. I have been using this takeaway for a few years now and love it. Staff are lovely, food is fab and speedy delivery. In fact, tonight when placing my order the lady on the phone called me back when I tried to place my order at 5pm. Great service and I know before the food arrives it will be lovely and hot! Thank you Eight Fortunes you are a real credit and thank you for being open during this difficult time. 10/10. Been using these for years, spending approx £20 every 2-3 weeks by delivery. They got my order wrong, so rang them up and I've never been spoken too so rudely and said I was lying and hung up. (Think I know what we ordered) Food as gone down hill and customer service is appalling. Spent all that money but will now look elsewhere Further to your response below: It's not slander it's the truth If the girl who took the order payed more attention we would not have this problem. We both heard the order. You should know your regular customers as this is what we always have. This was a delivery, and the girl asked me to drive out to return the order to your good self's and only then she would replace the order. Been a regular customer to you and phone cut off in mid conversation. Sorry also... We can't agree on this but 100% knew what we ordered but you can't admit this. Take care 👍

Plus you have a choice between prawn 🍘 crackers or mini spring which is a good idea because I don't like prawns 🍘. My friend and I really enjoyed our takeaway from this place plus the price good great price good food 👌🤗👍😉.

It was Jammmaziing. I ordered close to closing time and food was done in 10-15 minutes bearing in mind I did a big order of over 6 containers. The food was absolutely delicious and this is coming from someone who has high standards of taste for Chinese food. Their customer service is really welcoming and friendly. They make sure you have ordered your food correctly and help you understand the menu better. From how fast they made my food you should get it hot when delivered. If you order dry dishes I am happy to say they aren't literally dry to the bone like some restaurants. Its juicy and just divine. Would I buy from them again heck yeah. I would buy it everyday if I had the MULLA

Been regular customers for years, the whole family love the food from here. Favourites Satay chicken skewers, salt & chilli chips or chicken, sweet & sour balls, crispy shredded beef, chicken egg foo young, mushroom fried rice. Loved all we've tried!
