Ego Mediterranean Restaurant & Bar - Kenilworth in Warwick

Everyone very pleasant, Amelia and Andrea looked after us very well.

My fillet steak was the toughest fillet I've ever had. My partner had the roast and again the meat was tough. Another of our pary had undercooked green beans. I won't rush back.

I was looked after by Anne - relaxed style and very efficient. I have to say that the Greek salad I ordered was the best yet - truly delicious - and met my current diet needs. Great ambience in the restaurant - we hadn't booked, but the table location was perfect. Delicious lunch all round - heartily recommend Ego Kenilworth.

Lovely little spot in kenilworth. Have an extensive vegan menu and also gluten free menu too. Food is tasty, have also been the one in Bromsgrove which is lovely too. Friendly staff, very clean environment. They also do a lot of different offers depending on which night you go which can save you some pennies 💵 Would recommend 👌🏼

Now we love an afternoon tea! To have somewhere that does one locally at such a good price! Lets start with cost, on average we have found an afternoon tea costs anywhere between £20-£30pp, at ego it's £15.95pp with the option to upgrade to enjoy either a fizz or gin and tonic for an additional £5. It feels like a deal. There is a fairly average selection of sandwiches, cakes, and scones, but this is exactly what you want from an afternoon tea. I felt like they were really conscious of dietary requirements. Now we didn't need any, but I'm confident they would be ready to make any adjustments if required. The restaurant has a bright atmosphere to it in the day. It's clean well set out. The staff were attentive and very pleasant. To park, there is paid parking around the back of the highstreet. It's not too far away, and as you are located on the highstreet at the restaurant, there is always plenty to see and do to make more of your trip into Kenilworth. I thought the afternoon tea here, while not the fanciest you know exactly what you are gettinv, and is absolutely lovely and we will be back 100%.

Celebrated Anniversary yesterday evening. Made a mistake with the booking but despite being fully booked (40% off event) Abby played a blinder and managed to fit us in. Enjoyed our free anniversary Prosecco and both of us had the Duo of Pork which was delicious. Service was very good and quick consideration how busy they were. Great value. We've even kept the incorrect booking I made to hopefully make a return visit very soon.

Only two vegan options, the fritters aren't great either.

Ego can always be relied on to serve beautifully cooked tasty meals . We had chicken supreme for lunch which was lovely my only criticism is not enough sauce on the meal although I probably should have asked for more!

Not happy at all. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, very posh. However, the waiter had a bit of an attitude at the beginning, and later, the manager did as well. We were already unhappy because the food arrived at the table without any cutlery beforehand. Then, we noticed that our steaks were wrong—they were well done, so they took them back and replaced them. However, the replacement steak was rare, which was still incorrect as I had ordered medium-rare. Naturally, we sent it back again. They only took one steak and one glass of wine off the bill, which I think was disgraceful, as the whole experience was very unprofessional.

Amran was great! Very helpful, friendly and our little boy loved his jokes!

Had a celebratory meal on Sunday for 12 of us. The service, as always, was great as was the food. Our go to place in Kenilworth.

Very enjoyable Sunday lunch, trio was amazing. Nice glass of Merlot accompaniment. Staff were excellent, friendly prompt service. Special mention for Anne.

Very good food and attentive staff however waited way too long between courses. Normally food is more timely brought out.

Staff were lovely and friendly but food came extremely late, we were the second customers at the restaurant during dinner but received the food last while all the other tables were served but had ordered much later than us. The staff were kind enough to apologise and gave us complementary desserts which we much appreciated.

Possibly worst afternoon tea. Served within 5 mins of arriving. Sandwiche bread was stale from sitting around. The cream for scones was turning and not at all chilled. Very disappointing.

Food was tasty, mostly seasoned well and mostly plentiful, although the chicken portion was small and stuffing portion was a tiny ball - tasted lovely and I wished there was more. Cauliflower cheese dish wasn't hot and lacked seasoning. Service was slow, initially waiting 45 mins for food to arrive but thankfully we weren't in a hurry. Served table water and drink almost immediately though and staff were attentive. Overall, it was okay and I'd probably return to try other dishes on the menu.

We had to wait 60 mins after ordering before getting our starters. When the server took our order she said the soup of the day was french onion. Two of our party ordered this but when the soup arrived it was red pepper soup which they didn't want. They were offered the chance to order another starter but after a 60 minute wait they declined. Eventually they were offered bread and oils which they accepted. The remainder of the meal went smoothly and we were not charged for the bread. However it would have been acceptable to us if they had deducted all of our starters from the bill due to the long wait and no explanation as to why they decided to change the soup without advising us after we had ordered. Needless to say no tip was left.

Food was immaculate, staff are very polite too. It's an hour drive for us but worth it!

They no longer offer takeaway, which I used to order regularly, but I really wanted the Chicken Supreme. Anne was polite went above and beyond by speaking with the chef to accommodate my request. It's not something they typically do, but it shows just how much they value their customers. I’m absolutely thrilled with their outstanding service! Give her a bonus 😊

The prices are actually quite reasonable. However, I ordered a beer (Estrella Damm) and from my first drink I noticed it was artificially sweet. This was the first time I actually didn’t finish a glass of beer in my life - I found out upon paying by looking at the receipt, that they may have added lemonade to it, which I definitely didn’t ask for. I have never experienced this in my life. Also, the food was definitely not as warm as freshly cooked food would be. It was as if I went to Aldi, I got the most basic ingredients and quickly assembled a dish. Also, the Greek salad was questionable at best, as it looked like they brought well shaken vegetables with a bit of feta on them. The atmosphere in the place is good, though, and the staff is very friendly. I don’t think I can recommend the place given the above.

What a find this Ego is! Came for lunch with my three sisters, to celebrate a birthday. Atmosphere lovely, staff super friendly and attentive, and the food was gorgeous. I had the Moroccan lamb. So tasty and tender. Will definitely be back!

Lovely get together with friends. Great service. I don’t always find you get a good portion so need 2 courses. The Wednesday deal is very good though

The food was ok had an issue with one of the starters and one of the side dishes. They were knocked off the bill without us even mentioning it, which I thought was nice. The service staff were lovely. Atmosphere was a friday night was nice but the aircon was a bit too much for the girls. All in all we had a nice night.

Head’s up, in its day this was a decent place to eat, my last meal there was 12 months ago,, which was awe-full. Today I thought I’d give it a go,,, ! Stay clear kids it’s even worse, I sent cold meals back ,, they ping’d them in the microwave… I paid for me starter and beer ,, that was it , a nice afternoon fooked 👍🏻

Food was good, some pin bones in the fish and dry pork fillet but overall nothing to complain about. Service was lacking. Mains brought out before starters were cleared and having 3-4 members of staff stood by the bar chatting about rotas and talking away meant service wasn’t as efficient.

Not one of my favourite places to eat ,not a lot of choice on the menu could be more choice ending up having a pizza but not that filling bit price four of us paying 90 pounds and had to eat when I got home because I was still hungry. The staff were great and helpful but a bit quiet when we went .

Went for Sunday roast sadly the beef was tough and very overdone as were the potatoes, desserts all delicious on the set menu, service was excellent and friendly. We went at 3.30 so maybe roasts past their best, if you can’t keep the standard up all day maybe just serve roasts 12-3? We wouldn’t return for the roast

Wow, haven’t been to Ego for a while and the Wednesday offer was excellent value for money and also great quality (I expected smaller portions but they were huge!). The staff are so well trained and it felt like they wanted to be there, the vibe was energetic while discreet at the same time (hard to achieve usually!). We had a fabulous evening and will be back soon. And……Great House wine for £10 ❤️❤️❤️

Our second visit to a Ego restaurant, first time for this one. The staff are friendly and the restaurant itself is modern, clean and has a good selection of food on the menu. However on this visit the Sunday roast meats were dry and tough and the vegetables weren't good either. Disappointing as the one in Woburn was excellent.

Shame air con was broken and had been for some time on one f the hottest days of the year

Booked on a Monday evening prior to going to the theatre. Had an excellent meal with highly attentive service, and a great welcome. The quality of the food was brilliant, and the Monday offer with Wine was a bargain! We had to rush out as we were very late for the performance, but Andrea sorted our bill immediately, in a really helpful way. Well done to all the staff, no wonder it was so busy!

What a lovely welcoming restaurant! Myself and my Husband, walked in after a long day at Silverstone at this lovely restaurant, a lovely blond lady welcomed us with a smile, which is very rare these days. We didn't book but she gives us a lovely table and give us time to have a look in the menu..... All the staff where very smiley to! We fancied a steak and this is the place to go if you like your steak! Pil Pil Prawns and tomato garlic bread was cooked perfect, ribeye steaks fantastic. Staff and Management brilliant! Enjoyed an early Father's Day dinner here and surprised my husband with this restaurant but unknown to me, he had been wanting to visit! We had the calamari and camembert for starters, both being delicious. For mains, I went for the goats cheese and caramelised onion pizza with my husband choosing the cod. As I can't resist anything that includes truffle, I also went for a side of the truffle fries. Both kids went for pizza from the children's menu with my daughter going for the build your own - she was provided with a base, cheese, tomato sauce and 2 toppings of her choice (plus a chef's hat, fun touch) and the pizza was cooked after she decorated it. I was too full for pudding but my husband treated himself to a liqueur coffee and mini pudding. Great service and good atmosphere.

Not an enjoyable experience tonight. Food choice and quality is excellent but service was poor. Main course was heading to our table before we had even finished the starter so it was then left on the hot plates and unfortunately dried out and was not fresh when it eventually arrived. We felt we were rushed and were only there a short time an hour and 15 mins but on the booking we had the table from 7 to 9.30. Very disappointing.

Food tasty but felt quite expensive for what you got with the paella portion quite small. Good variety though on the menu. Service was great couldn't have been more attentive but in some ways found it was too efficient. Clearing plates when one was still eating, no break in between courses. Feel they were trying to turn the table around quick. It got very busy as night went on which is great to see for a business but it was very noisy and we had a large table sat right next to us/ below us which felt very awkward. Feel there should be more partitions to separate the tables which would make a big difference Would definitely return but would ask to not sit where we were again.

Always a warm welcome and good service at Ego Kenilworth, our top choice of restaurants in Kenilworth. Some good offers at different times of the week, and most menu choices taste great! Hanging kebabs and the Eton Mess desert are particular favourites.

Early Saturday evening meal and beat expectations! Not trying to over complicate, good food, helpful staff, nice and busy.

Always a great place to eat, staff great. I'm only commenting on a charity bash we went to last month. All was good with the food but service for the time it took for coffee and tea was a tad disappointing as most of us were on a parking limit and had to leave. Being a charity bash there was a speech and a raffle and it was difficult to hear as no microphone (not the restaurants fault I might add) but with normal service going on the noise was dreadful. I know not practical but maybe a few sounding boards inbetween events and the restaurant may be an idea worth considering for the future. Saying that its a great place to meet friends. And After all, its only my opinion And yes...I have given my feedback to the said charity who might consider a sound system😁 .

Great service, lovely food, not too expensive. Couldn't ask for more attentive staff. The food was tasty and very hot. They have an open kitchen, which we sat close to. Amazing to see so many people working and all appearing to know what they were doing. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful, unique restaurant with an exiting range of food and drink. Really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant and the staff were really friendly. The deals are clearly attracting people as it was busy for a Monday night. Very attractive offers. Drink: I would recommend the Lemon Drizzle cocktail. Light and zingy drink with a slight sweetness to balance out the tart with the vanilla absolute vodka. The house wine was also one to recommend. Food: The food could have been a bit better. The flavour was all there but I I found my main dish (Paella Mixta) to be slightly overcooked as well as the mixed kebab. Other than that the flavours were amazing and the starters were perfect. Would recommend the garlic prawns and muscles for starter and the steak for the main. Summary: Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff. Exiting menu and tasty food and drinks. Slightly let down by the execution of the food but this is not enough to deter me from eating there again.

This used to be our place of choice , used to be amazing food, great atmosphere and a lovely gentleman in charge, Mario. Not been for a while and sadly won’t be going back. Table for two smack bang in a noisy area between two birthday parties, meant we waited ages and ages for our food. Pizza, nothing amazing plain and bland. Didn’t bother with desserts.

Have dined here many times but last evening was very disappointing. Calamari was over cooked and carbonara was completely dry no sauce. After plates were taken waitress did not return to take our desert or coffee order. When I pointed this out there was a sharp apology!

Came to this restaurant 5 year ago, food was good and I gave it 5 stars. Unfortunately, this same cannot be said this time. Flaws with food and service on so many levels. Ordered the mixed hanging kebab and mint lamb rump. Lamb rump was overcooked and drenched in gravy involuntarily. The menu claimed it would be served "pink". But alas it was very much brown. Any chef worth their salt will serve gravy separately in jug/pot. It's just uncaring food, and shows a severe lack of confidence in their own food. We asked for extra plates for sharing, but they were greasy (and obviously so, surprised the waiter didn't realise...). No waiter asked us if we wanted drinks, or just tap water etc. Waiters are quite cold and ignoring.

Excellent food service in this friendly restaurant which had a good set vegan options. The place was busy but we got such great service from Julie. Thanks for a great meal.
