Bistrot Pierre - Leamington Spa in Warwick

It was a really nice experience and really enjoyed the food. Staff were friendly and helpful. The decor and sitting outside was pleasant, not too close to the road as it may first seem. Overall, great enjoyable visit, clean tasty food, will be back again.

Nice atmosphere-food nearly always good-lovely red wine available. Large portion of calamari disappointing-was enough for one person but poor portion for two.

Group of 30 of retired ladies and gentlemen for a late Christmas meal. Much enjoyed by all. Good and attentive service. Excellent all round. Had Menu Pierre for everyone which provided a good choice and flexibility on whether 2 or 3 courses, and if 2 courses whether the starter or dessert was chosen. Much appreciated.

Ordered Chicken with fries: This was presented with the chicken on the plate with a lump of garlic butter on top. The fries (such as they were) came in a separate miniature bucket. The Chumash dry and appeared to be frozen pre cooked that had been heated up and lightly grilled, dry, tasteless and unappetising, whilst the approximately 20 fries were rubbish. Imagine a succulent roast half chicken on a bed of bed of golden fries with perhaps a few peas well this was the total opposite! And we waited over 30 minutes. The worse meal I’ve ever had. What a change from how this place used to be.

A reasonable restaurant offering French style food. We dined early evening and service was ok but not quick or too friendly. Food was good but not quite French bistro; my steak was supposed to be medium but there was no hint of pink. Nevertheless an enjoyable meal in reasonable atmosphere. A few tweaks or a bit cheaper and it would have been very good indeed.

Not good. Won't return. Of the 5~6 bottled beers on the drinks menu only 1 was available...yes, only 1. Food tasted okay (that's a minimum requirement surely) but it wasn't as described.  Chicken skin was the opposite of crispy and, only when I got home, did I recall that the 'crispy onions' weren't even on the plate. When the food was delivered, we weren't asked if we'd like anything else (sauces etc.). Let's not even talk about the price of the 'very average' wines. Overall, a very mediocre experience.

Very disappointed on my wife's birthday. I arrived and got a table with the lights not working well. The people next to me were using their cell phones ligh to read the menu. After waiting 20 minutes, my wife got up and asked the waitress if she could show her the menu. The waitress was probably not having a good day. I would like to get the 6 course menu and my wife would like to get the 3 course menu. The waitress said that I could not make that order because it would confuse the kitchen. Very strange, so if I single I would not be able to choose 6 course menu. Very disappointed. The food is good but the service is terrible. I arrived at 6:50 pm and left at 9 pm. This is because we got up twice to order things and after dessert I asked for the bill. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Christmas lunch …….the greed factor of cramming as many people in , leaves you with long waiting times for your meal & it is very over priced for the average quality & portions served . A Christmas meal with excellent staff , but not one to remember .

Great deal available (2 courses for £18) most days. The pork was a bit overcooked as it was served on a scalding hot plate for some reason but it was still tasty. My dad had a similar issue with a well done steak that should have been rare and the staff replaced the whole dish without a fuss. Would return.

We were a group of 4 good friends here tonight. The service was great. Phillipe couldn't have been nicer, he was helpful, attentive, friendly & entertaining without being intrusive. A real sweetheart. The tables weren't too close together, we could hear hear each other speak which you can't always in some restraunts. The food was absolute delicious, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. This has always been one of our favourites places to dine but we hadn't been for a while because so many new restraunts opening that we wanted to try, which we have done but here we are back again at our old and still favourite restraunt in Leamington. We look forward to returning.

Very disappointed. The meals served were missing items stated on the menu. Food had little taste. The service wasn’t friendly and it felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. I’ve eat here before which was a pleasant experience. However after my recent visit I will not be returning.

Nice atmosphere, food was good and enjoyed the 6 course taster menu on weekdays. Recommend a visit to all.

Overall everything was excellent ONLY ONE issue that just disappointed. That was the manager named Vijay, he treated differently some of staff in the back of house( kitchen)just NOT FAIR. Sucked staff with no reason ( he made up nonsense reasons)

Thought we’d pop into Bistro Pierre for some lunch as we’d not been before and have been saying we’d like to try it for a while. Having been there now, I doubt we’ll be going again. My partner had the fish cake niçoise and I had the mussels in white wine sauce and truffle frites. Unfortunately, the fish cake was lacking in flavour and the dish, as a whole was very underwhelming. The sauce that the mussels were cooked in was tasty but literally every mussel had a lot of grit and offered some very unwelcome crunch to the meal. I realise that grit is natural in mussels, but honestly, the sheer amount of it put me off and I didn’t finish the plate. The “truffle frites” had more parmesan than anything else and couldn’t taste or smell the truffle at all. Service was slow and the lower half of the restaurant, although not very busy, was largely forgotten by the two staff working.

Simply great, and the food spectacular.

The atmosphere was good and location is lovely but that’s probably as far as it goes for a great meal out. The food was average and tastes did not really pop out to me but worse still was the service… it was not memorable at all. The person who served us spoke only to one person who he believed will pay the bill and that was how we decided to keep it.

We went to Leamington Spa purely for Bistrot Pierre, and it didn't disappoint! Great town, great food!

A lovely restaurant, wether it be for lunch or dinner. We travelled to Leamington for a day out and enjoyed a lovely lunch with Vijay as our host. Although it was around 3.00pm the atmosphere was calm and pleasant, the service good and the food and wine were excellent. Thank you Vijay be back soon.

Not cheap, but personally I'd prefer to pay a little more for lovely food than pay a little less but be disappointed, especially as it was a special occasion All 3 of my courses (pea & mint soup, Boeuf Bourguinon and Pot au Chocolat) were delicious. My wife also enjoyed all 3 of her courses (brie starter, Chicken Printanier & Sticky Toffee Madeleine). Our waiter seemed a bit grumpy at first, but he warmed up as the evening wore on! With my Blue Light Card discount, it took the cost down to a more reasonable total, so very happy, would happily recommend this restaurant to others.

They were exceptional today. A year ago, my experience here was quite average. However, the food today was outstanding, and the staff were attentive and friendly, with our French server providing the most exceptional service. If today reflects their current standard, to which I have no reason to doubt, I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

It’s a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff but the food was very disappointing. My friend had the bouef bourguignon and said it tasted like a TV dinner and the beef was tough. I had the salmon which was very overcooked and the accompanying asparagus woody. It’s a shame really as, with a good chef, this could be a very nice restaurant .

The food was fresh and tasty. Great value. The service is excellent and the place is spotless. Special thanks to Vijay who was extremely helpful and courteous.

They seemed short staffed today. 40 mins to take our order, 2h 45 mins total for our meal.

We went with some girlfriends for their bistro evening , the menu looked interesting for the prices. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed by the whole experience. The food was very average, and portions, smalls , and services were ok. They tried to accommodate some of the dietary requests, which was appreciated, but then the waiter never knew what he had in his hand before putting the plates down. The worst was probably the tomato salad, which looked more like a side with the biggest slice of shallots in it. The best dish was the chocolate mousse. Finally, our waiter, which was kind of ok , suddenly was super nice at the end when it was time to pay and then gave us a card so we could leave feedback about him... nice try ! 🤪 I might go back, though, to try their normal menu or lunch menu, which looked much better !

I booked for a table of 9 people, all work colleagues. I had slight reservations given the small number of negative reviews, but the set menu looked good and one of our party is a regular so I thought we'd try it. We were well looked after, and everything I ate I enjoyed - the Pot au Chocolat was a particular highlight. The mid week set menu is excellent value.

Wonderful food and very attentive staff.

Visited this evening advising two out of the 3 of us are gluten intolerant which was told upon booking and arrival. Two of the mains were lovely but the chicken was obviously left on the hot pass for a long time as sauce had a skin on top of mash was hard and chicken was dry and tough, chicken dish also missing peas as stated on menu. Wrong drink served and when ordering dessert we specified again gluten free but when desert served was to find they had put the gluten biscuits on plate, luckily I spotted this before my mother ate them. At the end of the evening when getting the bill we were told that because of the dissatisfaction with the main they had taken off the "discretionary" tip. I do not feel the staff really cared about the mistakes they made.

Really enjoyed our lunchtime visit, 1st time visitors, and really surprised about how good everything was, the welcome, the service, and the food. So good we've booked for one of their gastronomique nights.

RUDE and AGGRESSIVE Manager PHILLIPE I went for breakfast today at Bistrot Pierre. Initially, a lovely waitress served me, and everything went smoothly. The food was enjoyable as well. When I asked for the bill, the manager, Philippe, brought it along with the card machine. Without communicating, he set the card machine on the table, seeming to prepare it. Suddenly, he stopped, and I assumed it was ready for payment. As I went to pay with my card, he AGGRESSIVELY PUSHED MY HAND AWAY, wearing an annoyed expression. I was shocked, I hadn't expected such behaviour. I do not appreciate being physically touched or having my hand pushed away in such a manner. He had no right to act so aggressively! It felt almost like a physical assault. A company like yours should not tolerate this behaviour under any circumstances. It's a shame because the restaurant itself is lovely, and the waitress who initially served me was wonderful. I won't return unless this aggressive gentleman is no longer working there.He completely ruined my experience, and I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there unless they want to be humiliated by the manager, PHILLIPE.

Fantastic time there every time, has become a regular favourite of mine. Good food, good price, really fun atmosphere. Been served by Pierre several times and he really adds to the experience, he’s a great personality, jovial, fun, great service, but also not intrusive. Always a pleasure to see him. Highly recommend

I have visited Bistro Pierre before and visited again when I came up to visit my daughter from Brighton in March. The actual restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The service is 2nd to none. Unfortunately the food is mediocre and I found this on my first visit too. The humous to start, was very good and tasty. I had the fish cake nicoise for main and it was very under-seasoned and very dry and served, not with French beans, as stated on the menu but served with very al dente courgettes, which was disappointing. The sauce it was served with on the side, was bland and the baby new potatoes were tasteless and squishy. My daughter had the haddock which she’s said was ‘ok.’ Going on other reviews, I would probably come back and try something else. Again, the service by Pierre was very, very good, friendly and welcoming and he took something off the bill for the missing French beans.The food needs to match the 5 star service.

Starters were alright but most of the mains were nearly not acceptable level. We finished the steak because of the hunger but not the quality. 3 steaks ordered to be cooked at same rate and all of them were different. 2 of the steaks were really low quality, hard and rubbery. Risotto was like a precooked meal. First and last time definitely. There are much better places in L.Spa. Just don’t waste your time and money in here.

Parking - is difficult so plan ahead...although I think there is a parking garage in the same street and if so then ignore this part Service - its clear that the staff work hard and are rushing. But the positive to that is that they are trying hard to look after you and be attentive to everyone. This also includes the bar staff who did an excellent job. Special mention to Phillipe. I always ask my wait staff for advice and recommendations and Philipe was super helpful in making decisions. He was personable and funny, attentive and thorough. To be specific, I appreciated his food knowledge. Its clear that he likes the food that he serves. The Food; Was excellent. We had the 3 courses for 23GBP (must order before 5pm) which I consider to be very good value. I saw promos for a 6 course degustation for a very low price (I can't remember but its less than 30GBP) which will be on tonight (2nd and 4th tuesdays of the month) which I might just turn up to (this review was for 2 days ago). The carrot soup seemed to have a curry based spice in it and was excellent. The steaks were buttery and perfectly cooked. The desserts are winners and the mocktails were perfect additions. the Restaurant itself - clean, well decorated and good ambience. I highly recommend....thanks again phillipe

We had a family occasion to celebrate Mothering Sunday. Everything was perfect - wonderful food, lovely atmosphere, and the waiter provided excellent service with a delightful sense of humour. The Mothering Sunday menu had a good choice and was very reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend this venue.

A long wait for our food. The poached egg on my fishcake nicoise was hard, as were the potatoes. My husband's burger was also very average, overcooked and hard. Disappointing first visit.

Disgraceful service. I was there with my family. I arrived on time. After 30 minutes waiting to someone come to take our order we’ve left. 30 minutes. Not really serious place.

Was a really nice romantic experience, went for Valentine’s Day. The food was great and filling! Only thing was service was a tad slow at times, but was due to peak time.

Had the pleasure of being served by Raph, a lovely gentleman who was kind and welcoming to my party and me. By far the best service in Leamington Spa and I recommend Bistro Pierre and Raphs services to everyone!

Philippe is a wonder, one of the most thoughtful servers I’ve ever encountered. Superb staff, delicious food, and a warm homey atmosphere. 5* across the board.

Excellent value for money food, could not fault service, was a little quiet but still a buzz for a Sunday afternoon which is the best you can get in Leamington!

It was a fantastic experience, 2nd time we have come , we have now celebrated a 60th birthday and a 30th birthday. Both times we were served by Philippe who was extremely welcoming and attentive. Definitely will be returning soon

Had a group booking on the 5th. Reception was excellent, as was seating. Background music was too loud but was turned down after complaining. As the restaurant filled the music was turned down even more and we were able to speak without shouting too loudly. The service was initially good, but deteriorated as the restaurant filled. The food was excellent and really couldn't be faulted. Checkout took far longer than necessary - mostly due to the cashier having a long conversation with another customer. Overall a very good evening, which I would certainly repeat.

had a lovely midweek lunch with my boyfriend, service was quick and the staff were very friendly, Vijay and Flo made us feel very welcome.

Took an age to get served and when the food finally arrived it was cold. The restaurant didn't seem very busy but the staff seemed to be running around like headless (poulets). Maybe we were lucky but it has definitely put me off returning in the future.
