Good food served promptly by our waitress Annemarie. Price reasonable. We enjoyed our meal

Been for meals a few times but very disappointed my niece had come from Australia to visit me so very disappointed with the meal cold meat cold veg meal should be served on hot plates 🍽 😫

Food was luke warm and I didn't receive an acceptable serving of vegetables in comparison to my other family members. I asked for more vegetables, which I was brought. When I paid, I was charged for a 3 course Sunday meal even though I had a 2 course.

It was our annual family meal and the slowest service we’ve ever had anywhere. We had to wait nearly an hour between courses with no explanation and nobody checking on us at any point. The restaurant wasn’t even busy and only 8 of us at the table so nothing to excuse it. When we questioned it the waitress was dismissive, bordering on rude. Extremely disappointing.

Bryony was excellent polite and extremely efficient.

Had Sunday lunch today with bowling friends the whole meal was cold .came here last year it’s gone down hill .

Love this place, great to catch up with girlfriends at lunch time, lovely relaxed atmosphere,food first class without being over expensive, staff very experienced.

Very disappointed. 7 adults and 2 kids booked Sunday 6pm. Lots on the menu not available. Some of our food was cold. Wrong order delivered and one meal was delivered when others were having deserts. They did take these meals off the bill however a very disappointing experience with slow service when it wasn’t busy. We removed the service charge! Woeful. Won’t return

Food was ok had the mix kebab but quite dry. The restaurant is quite pricey so would expect it to amazing. Service is slow but a nice atmosphere.

Was greeted by Alex and show to my seat, greet welcome and asked if you need anything just let me know, ordered Sunday lunch and it was the best ever, it was nice to see proper Roast potatoes not white and pale, after a few minutes I was approached by the manager Antonio and asked if everything was ok, I said it was great, I have been in here many times and nothing is too much trouble, great food great staff and a very professional manager. Well done team

Lovely place, starters were all fine but childrens meals came out without the fish on a very small plate then fish came out a bit worse for wear, junior steak was very dry and hard.kids pizza was great tho. Our fillet was beautiful but onion rings were dripping in oil not the best at all. Lovely surroundings and staff were all great but very expensive for quality of food

The menu is great and they have a very good Gluten free menu too. The staff are very polite, professional and helpful. We will return here and recommend the place to family and friends. We really enjoyed it.

No me pareció tan mal hasta que llegó con la mitad, sí medio panecillo. ¡¡Ver foto! ! Pregunté si esto era correcto y me dijeron abruptamente "esa es la especificación" que estaba estupefacto! Revisé el menú y simplemente decía "pan de masa madre" sin mencionar que la cantidad era medio panecillo. ¡Nadie lo pediría si lo supieran! ¡Engañoso! Sin disculpas, sin "lo siento, está decepcionada, le traeré un poco más, señora" ¡Solo "esa es la especificación"! ¡Increíble! Sé que los tiempos están apretados, los precios de todo está subiendo y las porciones se están haciendo más pequeñas para evitar que los precios suban, pero honestamente! Preferiría haber pagado 6 libras. 99 para la sopa y tenía un panecillo COMPLETO. ¿Seguro que eso también es mejor para el restaurante? ¿Cuánto cuesta un panecillo? Debido a la forma en que esto fue manejado, o mejor dicho NO manejado, no voy a volver. Dicho esto, la sopa estaba sabrosa, al igual que el pan. Café demasiado fuerte para mi gusto, y ni siquiera te molestes con el té. Qué horror.

Overall not a great visit! Usually really good This time trip of meat was way over cooked. Gravy was cold Wasn't asked if we wanted extra drinks after the first drink. Kept having to get up and ask for everything.

Llegó anoche a las 6: 30 pm, pedido comida antes de las 6 : 35 pm ya que teníamos prisa por llegar a un evento local a más tardar a las 8 : 30 pm. Pedí un cóctel de gambas, esperé hasta las 7: 25 antes de criar a un miembro del personal, había esperado más de 45 minutos para comenzar. El arranque llegó finalmente a las 7: 35 pm, una hora para un cóctel de gambas... el empleado me dijo que el chef se había cortado un dedo y que la sangre había pasado por encima de la comida, así que tuvo que rehacerla. Lo que me hizo sentir mal para ser honesto. Entonces nuestra red salió a las 7: 50 pm 2 kebabs mixtos. Honestamente fue la peor carne que había visto, el pollo parecía rosa y había unos 3 pequeños trozos de filete por £ 21. 95 cada uno en un pincho. Mordisqueamos las patatas fritas y fuimos abruptamente a la caja a pagar ya que estábamos tan decepcionados. Esperé una hora y media para comer 4 gambas que venían en el cóctel de gambas. Cuando fuimos a la caja, el camarero ni siquiera nos preguntó si disfrutamos de nuestra comida, ya que podían decir por nuestras caras lo decepcionados que estábamos y probablemente no podíamos molestarnos tratando de rectificar el problema. Esto muestra lo pobre que era el servicio al cliente, también mientras esperaba el arranque durante 50 minutos seguí mirando al personal, pero rápidamente pasaban - evitando el servicio al cliente, lo que me llevó a ir a buscar a alguien a quien preguntar. En general pagamos £ 80 y fue tan asqueroso. Actualmente estoy en la cama al día siguiente sintiéndome muy mal, estoy 99% seguro de que sé que esto es causado por la comida de baja calidad.

Not sure what was wrong here yesterday but the customer service was not great, we arrived and waited near the door to be seated and was ignored so after a few minutes we decided to find our own table and sit down my partner went to the bar and ordered some drinks only to be told that we should have waited until we were seated which was repeated when we were handed menu’s with a non welcoming statement of in future reference wait at the door until you seated which I bluntly replied we did and got ignored !! The food wasn’t brilliant and the lack of interest within the staff was very rude and disappointing the smart dressed guy from the north west was the only person who seemed to have interest in his tables the male that served us was not customer focused and quite frankly rude and abrupt I’m not sure what happened yesterday but the relaxed atmosphere advertised It certainly wasn’t ! We all are facing increasing challenges and everyday struggles but if paying customers are spending money in your restaurant please make an effort and appreciate the custom and be grateful a real shame really we experienced this level of service because the usual standards were pretty good when we visited before the standard of food was below what I expected and the bread was burnt and rock hard the chips were cold and overall very disappointing we will be looking at alternative options from now on and hope things change! For the better

Las opciones de menú generales eran bastante amplias, aunque la disponibilidad "sin lácteos" se incorpora con vegano, lo que puede ser más limitante de lo necesario. Cuando se sirvieron, se tuvo cuidado de asegurar el cumplimiento de las limitaciones dietéticas y la calidad de las comidas y el tamaño de las porciones fueron muy buenos, aunque sentimos que contenían un poco demasiado aceite para nuestros gustos. We eat here regularly - as a family, as a date night or out with friends after a dog walk. Great service, the food is always good and lots of options for all dietary requirements. Kids menu is also excellent and if you get the 2 course offer it's good value too!

Excellent both times I've visited. Food was really good. Starters could possibly have been hotter, scallops beautiful however luke warm. Couldn't recommend the Lamb Kleftiko highly enough. Absolutely beautiful. Fully aware its probably microwaved to death, however presentation, temperature, veg and flavour 10 out of 10. Was an amazing gastro pub dish. If I'm wrong with the above please correct me. Staff could maybe more table attentive when drinks are running low, however we're really pleasant when you asked for something. £300 lighter for a table of 6 (2 of whom are kids) and don't feel ripped off. Excellent. Will bring back the the in-laws!

All I'm allowed is chips, not allowed a meal. Get better treated at McDonald's. Don't like the idea of dogs in the restarant when Im trying to relax. I asked twice by two different people if I could have a food menu, but staff refused to give me a food menu but brought me some chips, how am I supposed to know how much my chips are when your wouldn't bring me a food menu to me? Not impressed at all.

Lunch for six today. Impeccable service. Sensational food and atmosphere. What a delightful couple of hours.

Lovely lunch for my birthday, the food and the service was excellent. The 2 of us had 3 courses and everything was top notch !!!

We return to this place often, nice and relaxed, food consistent and very helpful staff. My only disappointment is that when i am booking and we are asked if we have any special requests, i always ask for a table in a quieter area as one of our party has issues with hearing. Without fail we are sat in an already busy part of the restaurant. When i say i have asked for a quiet area i am told "we are not really busy so its all quiet" I don't want to make a fuss as our friend is very conscious of her disability but if requests are not given consideration then it might be better to take the option off the booking form. We will continue to eat here as we always enjoy ourselves but i do feel it needs reviewing by the manager. That's the only reason for the four stars.

Visited for Sunday lunch with wife, daughter and parents. Outstanding in every way, wonderful starters, amazing different Sunday roasts served with homemade yorkies, gravy and vegetables. Hot, fresh and delicious in every way. Great service and value for money, will certainly be back.

Lovely welcoming team at Ego at the Wellington. Menu is varied and high quality. Really enjoyed my fillet steak!

Highly recommend this Restaurant. Food was amazing and service was good. Only downfall was hoping for a quiet lunch but a family of 5 were put at the side of us and it was very noisy.

Staff as always friendly, attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Food always cooked just right and always hot. The £40 deal has to be one of the best deals there is. Well done folks!!

used my birthday offer with wife decent value 2 courses each 1 glass of coke 25 quid very disappointed with starters tiny dish of garlic mushrooms with 2 small pieces of toast the spoon i was given was as big as the dish about 3 small m/rooms sliced to charge nearly 8 quid is truly criminal had them before and ego have severely cut sizes and put price up plus was the excellent polite friendly service from the 3 waiters relaxed atmosphere the ego replied and apologised saying i should have said something at time ha ha so they want us to embarrass ourselves to other diners saying this starter is not enough dya think they would have gave us a larger portion i think not my biggest regret is not taking a photo. i have waited in the past and would have been embarrassed to serve 2 paying adults with that starter. the review is to make diners aware,don,t order mushrooms the rest of the meal was great and will be returning in a few weeks

Hadn't been for a few months as last time we had a poor experience, but decided to try it again, this time for lunch. Had a lovely meal, with good food and friendly service and will return again now.

This used to be one of my favourite places to eat out. For the past 3 times I have been the seating areas were unclean, food all over the floor and seats. The food may be okay but I don’t expect to be standing in chips and peas from someone else’s meal. Maybe I would expect that in a fast food place but not here, very disappointing! A clean table, chairs and floor is so important to a restaurant surely?!

Afternoon Tea for two been here twice now recently the food was lovely but why do they not give you a cup and saucer and pot of tea when they bring your afternoon tea both times we have had to ask for it

Great meal today and fantastic Wednesday off of 2 courses for 2 people for £30. Told staff we didn’t have long between finishing work and the school pick up and they brought the food quickly and offered to bring pudding at the same time so we didn’t miss out. Amazing sweet potato fries. Delicious.

When we visited, it was not busy and there were plenty of staff working the service was poor. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 children and not once did staff proactively come over to us to check on us. We had to flag staff down to order initial drinks, then order food and after finished chase them down to get dessert menu for kids. It was not like we were rushing as were there for 2.5hrs. Often we saw groups of 3 staff stood around talking. As the staff were young they probably need training on how to manage tables. When ever they came over I will say they were always friendly and courteous. Given the cost of the food waiting support needs serious improvement if we were to come back.

First time visitor and we had Sundays lunch choosing the two courses for £20.95 menu and it was excellent. Top quality food cooked to perfection . We had the lamb and the beef. If you have a large appetite maybe order some more sides such as potatoes or pigs in blankets but for us there was enough as we had to leave room for pudding. Choice of puddings was good and I would recommend the sticky toffee with custard. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside one choice of cider Stowford press on draught the others were fruit bottled cider but I can live with that.

A last minute booking we have tried the chain else where and always enjoy the only slight criticism I would have was that the building was extremely cold for a rainy day and I had to keep my coat on

A friend suggested this place as we struggle to fine places with nice sunday dinner. We have been coming here for the last year and it doesnt dissapoint. The food is great and the service. We have never had a bad exsperince and will continue going.

Amazing food and brilliant service. Mia, Poppy and Alex looked after us and their service was brilliant as always! The cod supreme and the duo of pork were spot on! Always a good spot! The bottle of wine and cocktails were amazing too!

Always very good food. Delivered and presented tastefully. The two courses for £30.00 for two people is excellent. But disappointed with speed of service. On this occasion quite busy but we had to wait over 15 mins before each course. Lack of staff ?? However all my group (70's; 80's; and 90's) of seven throroughly enjoyed our visit. We have been before (and to Wyke Lion) and will definitely visit again

We came on Wednesday for the 2 course set menu for £30. The food was lovely and our waitress Isla was lovely!

Called today for the first time ,for Sunday lunch and have to say it was fabulous . Lovely surroundings ,excellent service by very pleasant staff. The food was superb, we went for the rare roast beef Sunday lunch and it and all the accompaniments were delicious .It was nice and hot and very tasty .One small grouse, but it does not detract from the 5 stars ,was that the aniseed in the red cabbage was not to our taste, but did not detract from our enjoyment of the meal . Thank you for making our lunch out a very pleasant experience

Honestly it’s thuggish food nowadays- it used to be reasonable but the process is totally lacking in integrity and competence. The vegetables are destroyed by overcooking and then reheating, the food isn’t seasoned, chips reheated cardboard. Absolutely chore to eat.

Really soulless food nowadays- cynical catering. Vegetables cooked to death, brown and untrimmed, returned and replaced with extra microwaved ones. Chicken lemon schnitzel extremely bland, badly prepared. Chips a chore, cardboardy re-heated. Small glass house rose is £8.80 inc service. Staff friendly but this is like hospital food. Steak pie alright perhaps but not as good as a good supermarket one.

Isla looked after us really well.

Mine and my daughter recieved vouchers for a meal. Brought my grandson and a friend and had amazing starters mains and desserts. The food was piping hot and the lamb and cod dishes were especially good. Fantastic is all I can say. Holly was very good and was supported well my other members of the team. Good value for money.

Called in for an early dinner and ordered pizzas. Service was great and the food was delicious. With the ego club discount very reasonable.

SHOCKING FOOD!!!! went in hungry came out hungry. Lamb rump tiny, fatty and just warm. My husbands steak was just warm too. Garlic potatoes reheated with no flavour of garlic, fries reheated tasted terrible so left them. Only ate tiny bit of meat paid over £30 and still hungry. Waitress lovely and polite, food very, very poor!! Plus carpet needed a good hoover.

Main course was well below expectations. Suspect the vegetables were kept warming far too long whilst the fish was cooked, hence vegetables were way overcooked and very very dry !! Service was glacial ! Waited 20 mins for drinks and 40 mins for main courses !!!

Had a lovely meal here on Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The manager had to sort out a miscalculation on a drinks bill. We were there to listen to a live singer,the daughter of our friends,halfway through her set a grumpy old couple came in and complained about the noise(it wasn’t very loud) so their views were listened to and the volume was turned down to a minimum. They should not have been pandered to.

Went to the Wellington on the 6th of Augustordered a steak well done it came back bloody inside my friend had eaten her food by the time l waited for my food presentation was awful a blob of mash half of tomato and sauce the apple pie was OK but the custard was like water it was not proper custard don't go to this place go to Wetherby and get fish and chips

Live local and been here loads of times however last 3 including tonight 2 hours after eating got serious tummy upset, both of us. 3rd time. Wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. The place looks good at first glance but then you look closer. The hygiene is poor. Toilets, doors, glass, tables all unclean. That's what you can see. Anyway such a shame. We will not be going again. 3 times not well after eating at this restaurant. Big shame.

Very easy to book afternoon tea for a group of 6 ladies. Allergies catered for but not a great alternative choice was offered. Service was nice enough but quite slow and it was difficult to attract staff. Our biggest disappointment was that the sandwiches had dried up a little and the cakes were ‘sloppy’. For afternoon tea, one small pot of tea is allocated person and just one cup of coffee to those non tea drinkers…. More fluids were definitely needed, we did have a jug of water but really?? Afternoon tea is just that, not afternoon water. When we asked for a coffee refill we were charged the full price. Our suggestion would be to provide small pots of coffee as well as pots of tea, and perhaps make up the sandwiches when the group arrives rather than in advance. Again, it was ok but mainly because of the company and not the quality of food.

A slightly up market restaurant and bar within walking reach of whinmoor and Wellington Hill. Reservations for food are recommended. Email subscriptions give you offers around your birthday and early notice of special events. Staff are great and always happy to chat. Fabulous Sunday Lunch. Excellent service. We both had Lamb, which was succulent and tender. Lovely crisp yorkshire pudding and fresh perfectly cooked vegetables.

As always a warm welcome, well trained staff. Wednesday meal deal, great value, garlic mushrooms love them. Hubby has fried camembert the salad leaves were going a little yellow but he never eats it anyway. Mains we both had trio of pork & dauphinoise potatoes good size portion wonderful sauce my meat was not quite as tender as hubby. I only know because I couldn't finish I was ful, hubby went to eat some of mine & said his was better. Didn't have dessert, coffees was far far to strong, quite unpleasant, asked for a pot of hot water, not a problem brought straight away. Will be back.

Pre booked a large table and pre ordered food, had to change a few details and edit the order. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Food and service on the day were excellent.

As ever we always enjoy eating at the Ego Shadwell Leeds and this visit didn't disappoint with the normal excellent welcome, service and attention from the staff, the Lamb Sunday Roast wonderful - will no doubt be there again quite soon as not only a regular haunt but a venue of excellent good value.

Lovely, friendly, and very patient service which could not be faulted and the best coffee I've had for a long time. The food was enjoyable with tasty tender steak pie and fresh crispy fish with perfectly cooked flakes of white fish. One of our party of 9 chose badly and didn't enjoy her main course but everyone else was happy. The chips, however, were not very crispy, I suspect because 7 of us wanted them at the same time. I have eaten chips there before and they were fine if not fabulous. We will definitely go again.

Food was bang on not 1 complaint On arrival guy didn't seem too happy little bit off with me and my son reason must of been because i look a little ruff and ready pint was nice

Not the first time I've been here and will not be the last. How to set the bar high. The food quality is excellent, the service is excellent. Quality, quality, quality.
