Delicious food as always, the boss is lovely, very friendly and was happy to try and remove the garlic butter from my pizza after I forgot to leave a note. The best.

Just arrived in Leeds and TA brought us here. Sunny day and Laynes was very busy. There's a seating area with table service or you can queue as we did and sit outside. Few tables and v close together so if you get someone who likes to deliver a lecture in a loud voice, as we did, then you can't really escape. The café is on the main drag down from the station so a good spot for people watching, talking of 'drag'. Probably the first time I've had a savoury Danish but a great idea and absolutely delicious. Plenty of choice for vegetarians too so we were both happy. Would definitely return, hopefully when quieter.

The food was cold barely no chocolate on the pizza I want my money back

we used to order from here every week, and the parmos were delicious and pizza really nice, it was our go to. but last few times we ordered the parmos are not nice at all and the chicken is chewy and rubbery. the chips have been undercooked and it's been a real let down. they used to do the best parmos in billingham by far ! but past few weeks have had are tastless and rubbery really disappointed

laste review due to app not working, but not as good as they used to be by far , really disappointed it was my fave takeaway place. paid from 6.90 now 8.90 for parmo as well that is nowhere near as nice as they were

I have been using this place for years. I’ve never had a problem. But since new business partners have been introduced it’s not great. I ordered the same thing I always get, kebab, chips, no pitta, chilli sauce, garlic and salad. It was over an hour late, the only food that was hot was the salad! The chilli sauce was different and tasted awful. I’m hoping it was a one off, but it’s not the only bad experience I’m aware of since the changes.

Didn’t even turn up, ordered 45 minutes before they closed and Ive been waiting 2 hours in total. If they couldn’t complete the order they shouldn’t have accepted it or just cancelled it. There is now no other takeaways open unless I go to a different town and pay a fortune in delivery. I will not be making an order here again and I recommend you don’t bother! Absolute joke and unacceptable!

my first complaint for this company as I've never had a problem before. Rude delivery guy, I understand he was in a rush but I let him into the flat multiple times then expected me to get from the top floor to the ground floor within a minute otherwise he'd leave it. Even the caretaker of the building said he was "arrogant and rude". Honestly it would've been quicker for him to come up to my flat than wait for me to call the elevator from the bottom floor all the way to the top floor.

All 3 of my daughters really enjoyed their food tonight, we were able to get them and absolute feast because with the 40% off offer. Will happily order again from here.

gor a regular special kebab just came in the pitta wrapped up full off grease 1 piece of shish which u couldn't eat chips and salad were the best parts won't be ordering here again definitely not for the price of kebab u would get more in a kids meal

Good food, excellent coffee and a warm welcome from this little cafe near Leeds station. They have a big range of sweet and savoury pastries as well as larger breakfasts and lunches. Not especially cheap but very nice. Friendly staff!

Always order from here, never had any issues, but tonight the food wasn’t very hot although nice enough, Creamed cabbage was missing which ruined otherwise okay meal, which was Disappointing

We ordered two pizzas. The parmo pizza was very good. However, the meat feast was unedable. For some reason it was overloaded with salt. So, after a few bites it went in the bin. We never used Espresso Pizza before, but it is needless to say we will never use it again. Nobody can afford to throw a £13 pizza in the bin.

chicken parmo was terrible, there was no cheese on it and there was an option to add topings, I wish I never bothered, the toppings were off I'm sure, salad was terrible cucumber was dry and the rest of it had turned to vinegar from being in the tub too long. garlic masked the taste so I ate some of it. The cookies were OK. Overall a solid 1 out of 10! zero effort and doesn't care about service, will not order again.

the donner meat was in edible its was swimming in grease we got a donner kebab and 2 donner wraps. The parmo was ok but not the best.

Popped in for a quick breakfast. Served very quickly food and coffee great. I had the Turkish eggs. Delicious and very filling. Flat white to follow. Great taste.

Just a few steps out from our hotel, we find this lovely place to start the weekend with the most important meal of the day. Our Full English breakfast were served quickly, as well as our coffees. The beverages were delicious and the cooked brekkies were absolutely amazing, I found mine one of the best I have had in a while. I will definitely come back if I am in Leeds.

Coffee is just average, nothing to shout about. Staff quite rude with an arrogant air about them. Not really a welcoming place that I’d want to go back to. Many better options around at better prices.

Food was fantastic as usual, unfortunately missed out the burger from the meal deal, but were happy to replace tonight or whenever I come next. Can't complain, fabulous food, great service. Never let down 👌

Ordered the new rap parmo an kebab meat an for some random reason it had chips in it too an I'm glad it did beat wrap iv had in ages definitely recommend best takeaway iv had in ages

Stumbled across this little cafè wondering around Leeds City Centre. I have lived in Leeds for 40 years and there is so much that I haven't discovered but Laynes is a smashing find. Having a lovely cup of Yorkshire Tea at Laynes, a really lovely cafè in Leeds City Centre near Train Station.. Not the cheapest but far better than most, very cosy and wonderful food.. Staff very friendly, clean and welcoming environment, city prices, food beautiful. Try the Yorkshire Fishcake Sandwich, Battered Potato and Fish, tatare sauce, Iceberg lettuce, pea puree in a Brioche Bun I didn't have it gent next to me ordered it and looked Amazing I was jealous. I had Turkish Egg with were very nice full of flavour and I really enjoyed them.

We were seated quickly despite it being pretty busy, and our brunch was served promptly. There's a great selection of dishes and everything was delicious!

After speaking to the owner of the shop on the phone and placing the order on just eat we didnt receive our food. We then rang the owner again after 2 hours since placing the order and he said our food was 20 minutes away however no food was delivered. New Year’s Eve put on a downer because that was what we had planned on eating.

Best garlic cheese and chips in Billingham. If you want a semi cheap takeaway without the hassle of expensive service charge, go here theyre food are unreal. The parmo’s are beautiful, donnar is lovely with a tub of garlic. Only thing i’ll say is the burgers are a bit burnt sometimes but that’s all.

Busy brunch/lunch spot with an interesting menu that combines European and American standards with more interesting Eastern Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern options. The acoustics means that Laynes is a noisy spot but the food is good - particularly the roast halloumi and poached eggs on a bed of wilted spinach and garlic yoghurt.

The coffee here is the best I've ever had, and I am a coffee lover who's tried a few. The vegan breakfast is exceptional, it's the only time I've ever been offered vegan bacon in a breakfast.

No pinapple freezing cold and under cooked

After checking what was in the area we decided to walk in for breakfast. There was a waiting time of about 20 mins to get in and a wait ( which we were warned about) after we received our coffee to finally get our breakfast. It was worth it for sure. We would definitely come again. :)

Shame, as usually fine. Food was luke warm at best. Barely any garlic sauce in wrap. Had notification that food was on the way. 25 minutes later and 5min after delivery window I rang restaurant. I was informed it was out with the driver, what should have been a 5 minute (max) journey waited an additional 15 minutes before food arrived. I wouldn't normally make a review but this wasn't great.

Did not receive order. Restaurant was closed before delivery so did not pick up phone. I was called at 00.15 and instantly checked door, there was no car waiting & rung back numerous times with no answer.

Tremendous food, fries are nice and the parmo was excellent, one of the best ones I've had from a takeaway in a while. Burger and Donner meat were both good, the only slight let down was the chili bake, probably the one thing to avoid. I'd certainly be back though, overall a superb meal.

Went here based on reviews, decided to try our luck as walk-ins and if not, there is so much choice on offer nearby. Was a short wait outside in the rain. Basic no frills cafe seating. Popular. Adequate menu selection. Food presented well and tasted fine….just not sure why it was served warm (-0.5*). Was not checked-on after serving, with the usual ‘Is everything ok?’ and when asked for the bill noticed the auto-adding of service charge (imo -0.5*). Would I return? After I’ve tried the other brunch places in Leeds. Would I recommend? For now, no. Maybe after I’ve given them a second visit.

We had an hour between trains and needed a cooked breakfast. Zipped around and were served very quickly and the breakfast was fantastic. Loved th variation on the beans and flat sausage. No skins. Coffee was very tasty also.

Lovely Dog friendly Cafe. Amazing homemade food. I had a Vegetarian breakfast which as well as homemade berlotti beans, I was asked how I liked my egg cooked. Small things make a difference. Coffee was strong and tasty. My wife had French toast and that looked delicious too. Would definitely come back for breakfast again.

Sunday breakfast - first impressions ok but tables are too close to each other. So close that you are practically involved in the conversations of those wedged in either side of you. Who it turned out were the kind of people who order halfcaf almond oatmilk mongolian lattes with a sprinkling of chameleon dust and a side of BS which I could have done without at 9.30 on a Sunday. The food was merely ok, poached eggs themselves were good although oversalted but the sourdough toast was overdone to the point it was nearly teeth breakingly hard. Coffee was good, I'd have liked another cup but getting anyone's attention was impossible so gave up and went elsewhere. It's also the kind of place who add a service charge to the bill automatically without asking...

First time trying this place.. Food was discusting. The lasagne was burnt and dried out ..won't be back again

Missed items and not as nice as normally

I had visited this cafe on trips to Leeds before lockdown but was not prepared for the well designed expansion, both at ground level and in the basement, that had taken place. Laynes is in an ideal location very close to the city railway station, but nicely tucked away. Great for travellers arriving to pause before embarking on a day’s shopping or business, also great to pop in to before catching your train - and a preferable alternative to the bland offerings from the chains. I was there for breakfast and had 2 poached eggs on sourdough toast- the eggs were probably the most perfectly cooked I have ever had. The cappuccino was also excellent. I would definitely recommend and will aim to visit on my next trip to Leeds. The staff are very friendly and helpful and although busy they found me a table quite quickly.

Had a very good, well presented lunch. A very interesting menu. Something for everyone (vegetarian etc). Pleasant friendly service. The only thing that could be improved - the accoustics - a bit noisy so conversation slightly difficult.

Delicious lunch, enjoyed the sweetcorn fritters with halloumi and tomato topping, so nice to have an independent in a city that serves fresh and home cooked food. Laynes has recently had a refurb and extended, plenty of space, we love it, it’s a buzzing place.

Got sat in the basement when we visited which is incredibly tired- holes in the wall and ceiling with mismatched paint on the walls and bright white lights, which make the place feel clinical. Waited 35 minutes for breakfast (a bacon sandwich and some museli)...

Called in for breakfast having read the reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Glad we pre-booked table as it’s popular and can see why. Excellent food, drink and service, when next in Leeds we will be back!

Received the wrong food. Usually everything is fine and correct. Today I received the wrong food. They said they’d call the driver but we still haven’t received the correct order or heard anything back from the restaurant to say they’re on their way to give us our correct order.

Probably the best place in Leeds to get a decent cappuccino. It's amazing for coffee. Would of given 5 but the food isn't as top level as the coffee. Great place though.
