Ed's Easy Diner in Cheshire West and Chester

I've been here twice now and most recent time the whole place was jam packed with a que outside and and I was so impressed with the staff and how professional and friendly they all were in such a high pressure time of year (28/12/24)! Especially Emma who dealt with me and my family both times! I actually took all the names of the servers but lost the paper which bums me out because everyone working that day deserves serious praise!!!

Food was absolutely disgusting and extremely over priced

Absolutely shocking service. Drinks arrived 1 by 1 and when we asked the waiter which was which his response was "dunno" and we had to slowly wait for the rest to come out to figure out who's was who's. The toilets were absolutely filthy with dirty toilet paper and even used pades on the floor. Wouldn't even recommend the food as it's price is ridiculous for what you're getting

The driest pancakes, only edible with the help of a cup of coffee! The waiter said he would tell the chef but that was it. Disappointing breakfast and a waste of money to say the least. My husband had the full English which he said was nice.

This place was what I could only describe as ok, we went in for food on a whim, seeing they did breakfast and sausage, bacon, etc, as its just what we fancied. We were seated very quickly and the order was taken really quickly too but that soon changed, we waited a long time for the breakfasts to come and to be fair it wasn't that busy so couldn't understand why it took so long. When we finally got the food, it was disappointing. Admittedly, we'd gone for the smaller breakfast, but it was lacking, unfortunately. The staff, to be honest, were pleasant and friendly, but I don't think we'd be going back soon.

What an amazing experience at Ed’s Diner, the staff are exceptional the food was the best I’ve had across the UK, today i was greeted and seated straight away, there was various members who checked on how we were through out and I will list there names below but I also want to credit the kitchen staff too as the food was outstanding. We went on a busy weekend , to the diner it was open before the shops.The staff explained there might be a wait as there was not many staff on.We got served quick and very efficiently.

The old days of Ed’s are gone. I visited this place few good years ago and it was amazing. The best place in the UK. Now it’s just another fancy McDonalds. £35 for a poor, small, boring burger with slaw, double fries, apple juice and Vanilla Shake. Free shake refills? Nope. Bottomless Coke? Nada. Friendly table service? Only to inform me that I need an app to order and 20 minutes waiting for some not well trained student who basically did nothing exceptional. And they tricked me into 10% tip by default in the app. Low. I will never go again. I loved the old Ed’s, American style. British one was boring and ripped me off. When in Cheshire Oaks outlet, I’ll just go to McD, they at least won’t pretend to be something they’re not.

The food is poor to match its price.

The burger is very small and so does the side portion, the chicken wings are extremely dry, the dipping sauce is also terrible. There is only one piece of brownie on the milkshake. The floor is slippery and greasy, and the toilet is dirty. Considering all the disadvantages, it’s extremely expensive. I will recommended to walk a few steps to eat at the Five Guys next door.

Didn't have food but stopped in to feed the baby, lady was lovely and nothing was too much trouble, very polite amd welcoming.

Nipped in here whilst out shopping with my wife and what can I say this place is awesome. Super clean. The staff were amazing super friendly and polite. Our server/Front of house gent was called ste. He was polite and very helpful with sorting out our order especially the allergies side of things. Highly recommend and will 100% be using again.

It's not the place it used to be, meaning eds diner. They forgot some ingredients in the burger, how and why?? All dishes were luke warm and taste less hardly any fries on the dishes served. To be fair, it's hardly surprising that no one was in their. (It sounds like I'm moaning, but please, it's just an honest review) of the Cheshire Oaks Eds diner My advice is to eat else where, no American atmosphere, certainly not the food either. Better going Five Guys, if ur after a tasty burger. Won't be going bk, won't be recommending either. Reckon these places will close shortly and won't be mist.

Seated quickly and food speedily arrived. Emma was great ensuring that our drinks were topped up. Food was brilliant and our fussy teenagers requests were granted

Sarita was a fabulous, attentive server. My low mark on food is the pancakes were cold, but still good. Thanks really to Sarita.

Had lunch in Cheshire oaks Restaurant. Probably the best burger I've had in a long while really tasty and piping hot. Staff very friendly and explained about GF options for my wife. Restaurant very clean and well looked after.

This is the first time I have been to Ed’s Diner. I went up to order the food for family rather than scan qr code and the girl taking the order was incredibly rude. She kept rolling her eyes everytime I asked a question! I will never go in here again.

Great service from Sarita today. Seated is quickly, breakfast was great, not fatty at all. Milkshakes are amazing as always. Table wasn't clean when we sat down however it was super busy and was probably just overlooked. It happens. No issue. Will happily come back again.

First and last visit. Food very poor for cost, McDonald's would have been better value. Service was good just very disappointed with food... cold nachos , tiny burgers . My partner never leaves food but on this occasion he did . Very disappointed 😞. Cook with beard but no beard mask on while cooking.

Came for a late lunch, disappointed at the complete lack of vegetarian options however staff were so apologetic and it isn’t their fault anyway, all staff were lovely and we’ll definitely be back!

Lovely relaxing diner. Amazing old-school decor. A warm welcome on entry by lovely staff. Came a few weeks ago and had one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Had to come back to check it wasn't a fluke. I'm very happy to say it was not. I will definitely be returning. My compliments to the chef.

There was only one other couple besides us in there on a Tuesday lunch time, so doesn't seem to be doing too well at the moment plus no atmosphere at all sadly! My partners hot dog was actually a very cold dog 😳🤣 this was rectified and another brought out within 10 minutes! The staff were nice and tried there best. My chicken tenders were very nice and hot! Sadly it's like a lot of places now, pretty expensive for not that much. Unfortunately that will be our last time in there!🙁

Visited here for lunch and it was a good experience. The staff were friendly and fast. The menu had a good variety and we gave the burgers a try. They were filling but not sure if they were worth the price in terms of taste but would definitely recommend the waffle fries. The milkshake on the other hand was amazing as it was thick and creamy. Outdoor seating also available if interested.

The manager (I presume) was arguing with all the kitchen staff and the waitress very awkward and could feel the tension. Food was under average quality and overpriced. You might be in a quirky diner but I wish I went to maccies cause atleast there is a better atmosphere and food.

Expect way more from this company. Empty and still 4 people looked so rushed. Not a great service. Had to call twice for a drink that arrived almost at the end of our breakfast. It is visible anyway when there are conflicts in the team. It ruined a bit the experience

Staff were very nice and accommodating especially Jess who, when asked about, allowed me to try and test the Inferno Sauce which helped me make the right decision on my food. The food then came out very quickly and was very tasty so thank you to the cook Stan. The milkshakes are huge as well. The staff were all very nice being talkative and welcoming too. Would recommend.

Came here after visiting here over three years ago as a stop off travelling back from Wales and the food and service was incredible. I think covid may have killed this, all the staff seemed as if they didn't want to be there at all, the food quality was dire. Ordered are boy some food and the carrot and cucumber sticks were so dry they must of been from the day before. Ordered a milkshake and it was so bland it was supposed to be peanut butter and tasted just like vanilla. Avoid

Not value to eat..chicken wing too small... The main meal same as kids meal why i need paid main meal prices??? staff are not friendly, poor serivce and food quality. Not recommendation! We won't be returning anymore....

Food is always spot on here and love the real American diner feel. Only negative really is that you now have to order via a qr code which doesn't allow you to order anything extra to your meal that is on the menu and if you don't do this you have to go up to the counter to order and pay.

Ed’s Easy Diner is okay. It’s not the best place over ever been to, but it’s far from the worst. The food is average, but the milkshakes are incredible! Service was good. I think for what you get and for what you pay for, it’s just okay. Would I choose to eat here again, maybe not. But I wouldn’t grumble if it was the only option

Whilst the food was tasty, unfortunately the lack of inclusivity and accommodating our needs means we won't be returning. Upon entering we were looking to sit away from other customers as we had a pushchair, yet we were asked to sit at the front (when all the tables at the back were empty). Not only this but our table was wobbling, when asked for something to stop it from wobbling we were greeted with being told to 'just move the table forward a bit, all tables wobble'. When going to order we requested an ingredient removed as we cannot eat it and asked for it to be replaced with something else. The answer, no, the other ingredient is more expensive so you have to pay more. Not the most inclusive answer you expect to here when you are unable to eat an ingredient. Overall, nice food but lack of inclusivity.

9 of us dropped in here for lunch during our shopping trip to Cheshire Oaks and despite giving a very customised order to a new staff member, the staff were spot on and got everything correct. It all arrived at the same time and was hot, fresh and tasted amazing.

The beef burger was extremely basic and a bit of a let down. The cheese wasn't even melted and the burger was extremely dry. The chicken burger was nice. The milkshakes were big and tasty. Staff were friendly. Order using the QR code or at the bar Maybe don't order the basic beef burger - you probably need some sauce etc.

This was a brilliant place to go for breakfast... I had the big American breakfast and it was phenomenal... latte was also delicious... staff very friendly and efficient... good atmosphere and spotlessly clean

First time here and last, thought you would gets a decent burger for the price and pictures shown but when it came I thought it was from the kids menu. Never gone out from a place so hungry the portion sizes are for kids. Very disappointing meal and so expensive for what you get.

Hotdog is not worth the money, staff are rude and wouldn’t give out refunds for food that couldn’t be eaten, offered a milkshake, but not really what you want when your starving, I’ll now have to spend more of food elsewhere

Visited here for tea with the family. Wasn't overly impressed - the menu upsells the food - I had the Nashville burger, which was basically a regular chicken burger with hot sauce on it, and it was already falling apart when it arrived at the table. I upgraded to loaded fries with bacon and cheese sauce - again disappointing, with no more than 4 shriveled up small bits of bacon and I had to search for the cheese sauce. For the price of the food compared to the quality, it wouldn't justify a recommendation or a return visit unfortunately.

The Staff really give this place a good friendly atmosphere. Food was quick and of good quality.

Half of the order didn’t turn up and what did come was absolutely stone cold and inedible the hotdog was the only main that came and was upside down in the bag at £15 a meal and £2.50 a side I expect my food to actually show up

My daughter and I visited there last Sunday to have some time together the food was nice the atmosphere was good and the staff were really polite .

Staff was not friendly. We ordered Nashville burger and seasoned fries,bun was not fresh and it was weird in taste. Fried chicken in was soggy no crunch at all. There were onion rings as well in burger but they were so salty. Fries were not cooked properly. Staff was just cleaning they did ask other customers if they wanted sauce but chose to ignore us for some reason . Mud pie shake was okay.

Very helpful and friendly service by Sarah. My food was served quick, nice and hot with the usual great standard I've found at other Ed's diners. Clean and spacious seating area, highly recommend.

First time visiting to celebrate my birthday and didn't disappoint the food was amazing, and the milkshake was one of the best I've ever had. Definitely recommend this place. I will be having a return visit very soon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What has gone wrong here ? American soul food ? More like British soulless frozen food! Spare a thought for the poor sods that work there, they have no control of service system or ingredients! Everything is engineered so you don’t have to actually order in person, so yet another obstacle for leaving a tip. I think the fluffy pancakes came out of the packet a couple of days too early before they were served…………atrocious hyped up rip off. DO NOT TRUST THE GOOGLE FOUR STAR RATING

Sorry to say pancakes were horrible had a chat with assistant manager to talk about them seeing as other folks were complaining about the pancakes she did offer a refund but I said no I just wanted them to be better & offer constructive criticism!

Disappointed with Ed’s. We’ve been going there for a number of years, when we visit Cheshire Oaks and it’s gone steadily down hill. They stopped the bottomless coffee. They stopped serving Root Beer, that my kids loved. On our latest visit, Friday, we were shown to a table and given a menu. But told to order using the QR code. So we did and it automatically adds a 10% service charge! We ordered ourselves then when our food was brought over had to ask for our drinks. Told if we wanted condiments we’d need to go get them. So what service deserved 10%? The food was 😏 American Bacon wasn’t crispy, as American Bacon should be and only a drizzle of Syrup on the pancakes. It’s a shame that this Diner doesn’t now resemble anything like an American Diner

We didn't have food, just a hot drink, but would go back for food. If you love Americana you'll live this place!

the driver received the order at 8.00 with the expected delivery time at 8.13. it then looked like he picked up another order from another restaurant and delivered that first. our food did not get delivered till 20min after the scheduled time at 8.35. this meant the food was cold.

Lovely staff; however, the food does not match up to the price. Spending over a certain amount means expecting good quality food. The wings were extremely overcooked and very visible that they were not fresh. The same goes for the chips and the inferior portion that they give you. The burger also was not fresh, and for this kind of price, you would expect fresh produce, not frozen, and a poor attempt at reheating does not make this any better. Also, the staff were amiable and polite; they were also very forgetful.

Somewhat disappointed with Ed's. The burger was OK but the size of the portions was not good. The amount of fries was particularly poor. Apparently however the hot dog was very tasty.

I certainly enjoyed the visit to Cheshire Oaks, and Ed's Diner was the perfect place to eat- with friendly staff, extremely delicious food and a variety to choose from and a nice atmosphere. I would definitely return here but hopefully when it's not as busy since the wait for the food can get rather long.

I came here for a meal a few months ago, my meal came with hair in it. I told the waitress and she took it back, the replacement meal came with hair in it. My partners meal was undercooked to the point it was inedible. I've emailed Ed's diner 3 times about this as we were still asked to pay the full bill even though neither of us ate our meals, I've never had a reply. When there's an economic crisis and you're more mindful about where you spend your money it's pretty frustrating to waste money on inedible meals with hair in them and then to have no response whatsoever from the company about it. Pathetic customer service.

We've ordered before and it was really nice so went in for breakfast the other day getting the chicken breast with waffles!

Enjoyed our family meal here today, burgers were very nice and the kids deal was excellent value for money. £16 for a cheese burger and fries is probably the going rate these days plus another £3 for a bottomless drink. They had run out of coke including zero so we ordered Fanta and milkshakes which were nice. I would probably go here again but it does need some money spending on it as it's looking a bit tatty in places. Quality is a cross between McDonald's and little chef. I'm not a fan of ordering on the qr codes especially when it adds a tip into the bill before our meal had arrived.

Unfortunately really underwhelming. The welcome was okay, ordered via the app and the drinks came soon after I ordered. They put them right Infront of our little one who dunked his hand right in. Don't put food or drink Infront of babies. It won't end well. This place used to be great, but by the fact it was mostly empty you can see people don't like it anymore. The food is very very average for the money you pay for it now, it gone way down hill. Loaded fries are an embarrassment and the chicken wings are frozen small rubbish you can get from shop. They also won't allow you to refill a refillable fizzy drink with a Fanta for example if you ordered a coke zero even thought it's all sugar free. This is a really silly rule. The place itself really needs a lick of paint and some love. Dirty light fittings, half the lights don't work and the toilets old and dirty. Seriously disappointed with this and I'm afraid I won't be coming back to visit again as it simply does not act as value for money and the staff and atmosphere wasn't that welcoming.

Really bizarre experience here recently. Waiter messed up the order then looked at me like I had three heads when I corrected him. Food was burnt and sent back. Not even that cheap at all. Found manners to be lacking as well.

We love to come to Ed’s with the children When we are visiting Cheshire Oaks, the food is nice, and there never is much of a wait. We came in last night and spoke to a lovely lady that was waiting on, she was very friendly on bubbly. Everything went well until we came to the end of our meal, a waiter? I’m assuming came over and shoved a receipt under my husbands nose, A, I’m not used to this as we usually ask for the bill. B, he didn’t speak he just stood there with the receipt in his hand. I found this so rude, I looked at him and he said Cash or card, I replied cash to be told there was no change available, I was going to tell the waitress to keep the change but couldn’t see her. But there was no way I was leaving this guy anything so paid by card. Really left a bad impression.

Milkshakes taste awful, don't waste your money.

My wife and I's first time at Ed's Easy Diner during our visit to Cheshire Oaks. We received a really warm welcome and had a fantastic lunch. My 'Dirty Texan' burger was the tastiest burger (even Sam L Jackson would have approved) that I've ever eaten. The Ceasar salad was excellently prepared and also really tasty. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone visiting Cheshire Oaks.

Nutella milkshake was fabulous, burger 10/10. Busy restaurant, staff worked hard. Had to wait in a queue but worth it. ( No photos as we were so hungry 😀)

Absolutely spot on. Breakfast was fantastic I was literally stuffed for hours first time we had ever tried eds and would definitely be back. Staff were amazing especially considering how busy the place is. Mocha is to die for as well 👌 thanks to the staff x

unfortunately, this place has suffered through lack of investment in the premises the food is average the fixtures and fittings are grim and shabby everything feels and lucks icky the staff however are still always friendly just a real shame as this used to be a must for us when shopping

Food was cold and the coleslaw portion was tiny hardly a spoonful for £4.50 !
