Ed’s is a significant other refuge in the Grand Arcade. Drop your husbands off, they can get a snack, a drink, and relax while, while you shop till you drop. It was a life saver for me. I really needed a Coke Zero and a place to sit while my wife shopped. I would give them a 10 stars on a scale of 1-5 stars, just for the relief of getting to sit down.

Iconic Waffle Fries Absolutely love the waffle fries of Ed's. Generous amount of sides, as usual. That makes the burgers looking relatively small. Food delivered without any delay, as usual. Everything was hot. The sides were well prepared. Didn't taste dry and overcooked. Could finish the sides without any dipping sauces. Interested in the hotdog too, but seeing other customers who had ordered the hotdog meal deal then I hesitated. The hotdog looked genuinely tasty but it's too big for me to finish alone. Personally I recommend their waffle fries rather than their skin on fries. After all waffle fries are their speciality. But no problem to other sides, all of them are very nice. The environment was nice, clean and comfortable.

Oh my goodness I wish we’d have read the reviews becoming coming again. We’ve been a few times over the last two years . This must’ve been taken over because it was really not worth the money ….. First of all the young waitress didn’t know what ‘bottomless’ drink meant when I asked her , ok this happens. Secondly we sat and watched the manager behind the counter laughing and messing around with the cook , ok we thought have fun at work, as long as the food is good …. It really wasn’t . The loaded fries were cold and I mean cold , sat around waiting for the burger . The burger itself was so greasy the bun was soaking , it was really unappetising. There was a sprinkling of limp onion and some kind of sauce in the bottom , in both our burgers even though mine was supposed to have BBQ sauce in it …… the bacon in the topped fries was burnt and they gave my sister waffle chips instead . The coleslaw tasted as if it was a value line one , not creamy , a direct contrast from last time we came . Overall for £50 it wasn’t value for money , it felt like much cheaper ingredients were used . It wasn’t even ok , no one checked on us we were ok , maybe it should be the managers job to do this rather than laughing and joking and doing nothing else whilst we were in there . Actually there was a blond haired lady who seemed to be giving orders out and checking on staff , maybe it needs to be checked that food is tasted and fit for sale ! Overall I was so disappointed as the last three visits had been so good .

Haven’t had an Ed’s in ages since my local one was closed. Food was good. Service poor. Order via app but staff sit at the bar playing in their phones, so why can’t they take your order? Only interaction was the food being served. No “how is your food” or anything whilst eating and no “thank you” or “good bye” when you leave. A far cry from my past Ed’s experiences at a now closed restaurant or indeed any restaurant I’ve been in.

I visited this restaurant three days ago with two great freinds, and I still remember the quality of the experience today. When I arrived, I believed my friends and I were the only people there. The interior had that ’50s American fast-food-diner look to it, and the seating, colours and lighting brought with them a quaint charm, one I have come to associate with that era of fast food. I wasn’t especially pleased with the lavatories, but I’m not sure how often I am anyway with fast-food establishments, and that hasn’t prevented me from returning to them. Also, In Ed’s Easy Diner’s defence, the manager (or at least whom I believe to be so), Lia, told us that the current staff (including her, I believe) had taken over from a previous team, and they apparently were in the process of re-building the restaurant’s reputation, so I imagine improvements are still in the pipeline, and I would therefore consider it unduly harsh to deduct a star for the lavatories. The customer service went far above and beyond my expectations. The server, Eevie (her nickname, I believe), was incredibly understanding, flexible and easy to talk to. We even had a short yet fun conversation going on. Lia was also equally as inviting and bubbly. Assuming she is the manager, if she treats her colleagues the same way she treated me, I’d be happy to work there. I do not remember waiting too long for my food and drink to arrive. However, if it took longer than it should have, I probably didn’t notice due to the conversation I had with the staff. I drank a Lotus Biscoff milkshake, and I ate chicken tenders and a side of French fries (hereafter ‘fries’), and I didn’t feel like the price was unreasonable for the portions I received. I paid well deserved compliments to the chef before I left. Starting with the Lotus Biscoff milkshake, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn’t saccharine, had an authentic Lotus Biscoff flavour and wasn’t overly viscous. If you are fonder of your milkshakes a bit on the thicker side though, you should know that my milkshake, at least in my honest opinion, was more on the side of ‘smoothie’ consistency. Fortunately for me, I am indifferent, and it tasted spectacular. The chicken tenders had pieces of chicken that pleased my taste buds with each bite, but the breaded coating was a little crunchier than I would have liked, if I am to be brutally honest. From memory, the tenders’ temperature was also, in Golidlocks’s terms, just right. The fries were of a consistent shape and texture, nice colour, had good rigidly and were beautifully seasoned (seriously, I might have even commented on the seasoning when I first ate them!). That said, if you’re someone who ravages meals like me when they’re even a little hungry, you may want slow down! I say this because, if my memory is correct, the fries were a fair bit hotter than the tenders. Don’t let that put you off though, because that seasoning is amazing! I didn’t actually dip any of my tenders or fries in the sauce I was provided, because I’m just weird like that, so I cannot comment on the sauce. Overall, based on my experience, this place has a lovely atmosphere, great people and delicious food. I will probably visit this place again when I’m next in Cambridge, and I recommend you give it a chance. I feel like this place needs the love! I look forward to this team’s progress with this place, and I hope more customers can share my experience.

Dropped in for brunch, sign at the front mentioned low table availability due to staff shortages - restaurant only had 2 tables occupied when I arrived. Welcomed by lovely lady who provided me with a table & menu. Other staff were 2 x kitchen staff plus 1 x waitress & 1 x 'manager' but hard ro tell. Ordered Ed's Breakfast plus americano & asked for egg over-easy soft (had to explain but no probs). Food arrived promptly - beans lukewarm & only one egg (menu mentions 'eggs') & hard, not soft. Mentioned to waitress (who did everything except cook the food BTW, manager did NOTHING) who apologised but manager just sat behind the counter chatting to the kitchen staff or on his phone the entire time (see pics). Do yourself a favour and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE for food, as this place is going under due to apathy...

It’s a shame that our favourite brand is so s..t in Cambridge . 2023 was a great year for us as we always visited Ed’s in Grand Arcade on weekends . What TF happened … Who is the manager now ? We asked to see a manager but we were told that she went home … Really ? At 13:30 on Saturday …??? Well… It’s for you to sort out … P.s. ( as in Post Scriptum ) It looks like most of the team is trying to patch up the holes that the other team made…( team that stands at the bar picking their nose …literally )

Called in yesterday for a bite. Had chicken wings in a spicy sauce with skin on fries with Coleslaw. My wife had chicken burger and Coleslaw Her lunch look very unappetising and dry but she said it would do . My chicken wings were extremely small and dry with no moisture at all . Fries were luke was and a small portion for £4.50 . Coleslaw was the only thing worth eating . We went there as we had had a previous lunch there during the pandemic when you could only eat outside .. Have to say that was why we returned as it was infinitely better then . All said and done the guy that took the order was fine . Hope they can improve the rest of the criticisms on my rant

From the first moment I walked through the door. I was welcomed extremely nicely by a lady called Ewelina, it was my first time eating at an Ed’s dinner and it really did not disappoint!! within 30 seconds of sitting down this same lady had colouring, pencils and paper for my child to do crosswords and spot the difference, which she absolutely loved!!!! when the food came. It was all absolutely delicious. A massive thumbs up on all levels.!!!!!thank you Ewelina for making our lunch so special!!!!! and we will definitely come back next time. We’re in Cambridge!!!!!

I have never complained in a restaurant or wrote a bad review however, I have never been to a restaurant where the staff are so rude, unprofessional and unwelcoming. I stood in the doorway (as guided by the sign) waiting to be seated with my child and the staff walked past me several times and blanked me and pretended I was not there. Eventually I asked for a seat (which seemed too much hassle for them) and once sat down I was given no menus and staff walked off straight away, I asked for a menu and the staff member said yes, then walked straight past the menus and went off somewhere else pretending to look busy. I had to get up whilst with my child and get my own menu. Staff eventually acknowledged me and came over and took my order (the staff were extremely miserable and unfriendly). The food arrives to the table but no cutlery (had to get my own) and no offers on the refill drinks that I had paid for. The staff have no interest in customers, don’t want to be there, and doing their job seemed too much to ask from them. My order came out and was inadequate, the meat was hard and chewy which I had to send back (and trust me I did not ask for a new one). Staff were not apologetic and did not care about this issue. When I left the restaurant staff were stood around doing nothing, ignoring customers, and general not interest in their jobs. The manager seriously needs to address this issue with the staff and the atmosphere of the place. I have never felt like this whilst eating out.

me and my boyfriend went here to eat as there weren’t many restaurant options around and he wanted the texas burger that he saw. i had some chicken strips and waffle fries, they were perfectly fine. my boyfriend had the burger which he also thought was good at the time but then that same night he was sick twice - assuming food poisoning because that’s the only place we went to eat that day and didn’t have much of other food. the service was also quite bad as the waitresses didn’t seem like they wanted to be there either, and the hygiene of the general restaurant seems poor. wasted around £50 there and regret it a lot. the food portions were also advertised completely wrong on the online ordering, we over ordered as we believed some portions were bigger/smaller than we saw. very dissapointed and hope you guys fix your staff and food quality! as my boyfriend had to suffer the consequences of poorly managed food

The manager did not even blink an eye when we came in. I did not feel welcomed at all. I waited ages for someone to take my order, while the staff just chatted behind the bar. THE PLACE ONLY HAD 3 customers. The food was a disgusting slobber, This felt nothing like the American diners i have been to before. What can I say other than Wow !! Working in this industry myself I was absolutely gobsmacked by how poor this place was on almost every level… The manager was walking around the floor eating food they picked from peoples meals as they were being plated up ! No check back to see how our food was (It wasn’t good for note) No cutlery or napkins or anything on the table until we asked for it after receiving our food.. Honestly it was the most unprofessionally run restaurant i’ve been in for a long long time !!

Tldr: The food was delicious. Which is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. We came in for lunch on Feb 24th. The waitress barely said a single word to us, not even to tell us we had to order from the qr code. We waited about 5 minutes before I realised. My issue started when the tip screen popped up.. I tip based on service so that was pointless. We ordered 2 kids meals, 2 adult meals, 4 milkshakes 1 fountain drink. About 30 minutes later our food comes, very tasty, hot etc. But we still didn't have any of our drinks. Or cutlery. We had to ASK for them. I also asked for our drinks, which still took a further 10 minutes to come out. My daughter is autistic, she won't eat if she doesn't have a drink. I finished my coke about halfway through, they didn't come to see if I wanted a refill or anything. Luckily my husband managed to get her attention and also had to request the dessert he had ordered at the start. Eds used to have the best customer service and hit has gone way downhill since our last visit. The waitress ignored the table of 3 teen boys next to us completely even when they were calling for her. Would not recommend if you want to not feel like a burden.

What can I say apart from I’m saddened to have a negative experience at one of my favourite restaurants. My partner and I came in at the weekend for breakfast. I was told I couldn’t get the big American with pancakes because of staff shortages. We both ordered the big Ed’s breakfast and it was tasteless. We got apple juice and it was warm. Usually my partner orders this and really enjoys it but this time it was a disaster. We was also seated next to a table with a married couple and their children. The dad was so loud. Really giving the staff a hard time with his order which made me feel uncomfortable because of the atmosphere it caused. I overheard staff talking about him which isn’t professional in ear shot of customers. Although the staff were very nice and accommodating to my partner and I. Quick seating and service. It’s just a real shame about the food because this has been one of my favourite places to eat for several years. Perhaps work on staff shortages to be able to cook what is advertised on the menu and put the juices in the fridge. :)

We love Ed's Easy Dinner, the kids (both mid-teens) still think of it as an absolute treat and integral to a 'family' visit to Cambridge. The service is usually impeccable, although our last visit wasn't quite as good - which I'm putting down to it being the Christmas run down. The food is always great and you should make it part of your next trip.

Unfortunately we just left before ordering having seen appalling food hygiene! One of the men got some sauce or grease or something on his hand and full on licked all over his palm and sucked all his fingers one by one before picking the burger up with his bare hand and sticking it under the hot plate. Your colleague (the one in braids and smirking in the pics and goading me as she saw I was disappointed and about to take pictures) is probably the rudest waiter/customer service assistant in my 30 years of eating out. Absolute awful experience even before or wanting to buy any thing at all from there. I sat down (16th November 2023) on the chairs outside wanting a rest before my APPOINTMENT nearby. I got told by a very rude colleague in the most derogatory way that the seats were for customers only. The restaurant was empty, no customers and I felt ot was just out of spite as I wasn't even eating or drinking, just barely sat down. The supervisor came and still repeated the same gibberish and said will call security because I was just sat down It's just an indication the way the place is run is not very good. If simple common sense like this does not prevail, I wonder the junk food they serve must be even more junk.

Ed’s Easy Diner of Cambridge… First time trying Ed’s diner. my other half had a chicken burger, I had the cheese burger. We had both agreed on our meals being a 6/10 (based on size and taste) which for the price is a bit adequate. The staff were mildly unprofessional, with a blunt and rushed welcoming to the joint as well as our meals not logged onto the system. (Added time reminding staff) Menu was fairly varied with meals etc. but still adequate at most, and nothing to rave about. I’d recommend getting a Five Guys more than an Ed’s Diner, as they’re the same price point. Cheers for reading - Big Nayf 👍🏻

Nice place has a great atmosphere and is done up with all the 50s design. However my personal preference is I am not a fan of the QR code scanning. Not really proper service especially when the poor staff have to come back anyway and ask a load of questions about your order which could be avoided by just having normal table service. That aside with this feature it asks for your tip upfront before you have really received any service unfair for the waitress if they deliver a great service and you want to tip after. Also unfair if they don’t deserve a tip. However over all staff were lovely food was good along with drinks can’t complain

Overall, I'm a bit disappointed. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Neon lights and checkered floor give an authentic 50's aesthetic. The burger was satisfactory, nothing special. The price felt too expensive for the quality. However, the chicken tenders were very tasty and would order again. As for the milkshakes, it's worth a try. Hit or miss. Service was a let-down. It was very difficult to contact staff for assistance, especially for a refill. Perhaps consider installing a drinks dispenser for customer use?

The food was okay. Chicken tenders surprisingly tender would get again. Loaded Chips were seasoned nicely if a tiny bit on the salty side at points but that's more to do with sprinkling distribution. Didn't like the pretzel milkshake I thought the chocolate covered pretzels would also be blended in so you could taste a little more chocolate (kind of like how you get the taste with five guy's Reese's pieces milkshake) but it was basically a peanut butter milkshake. The Edspresso hard shake was very nice I'd go back to have that and the chicken tenders! Haven't tried the burgers but I've heard their average which is why we didn't order them.

Would make a profit if your staff ever turn up on time. Says 11 am on your site, we would stand outside until 11.30. No staff would enquire or assure us it would be open soon. Rather sit on their phone and drink coffee. Twice this happenned in a week. If I was the owner I would fire the lot. What I got was nothing just wasting my time.

Refused entry due to small private party, manager claimed the private party turned up late, and could not serve anyone else till the private party left. Even though his staff were leaning on the counter just chatting. Clearly this manager should be sacked immediately. As he is not in control of this eatery. Will not re visit.

I have tried to come to this restaurant a number of times over the last 3 months and it has always been closed with staff in. One time i got told they had a food delivery come but once they’ve restocked I still can’t come in. I feel the staff are dismissive and rude. What’s the point of having a restaurant and staff if it’s never open to eat in?

Was really looking forward to trying the nachos after my daughter said they were the BEST Unfortunately wasnt the case. When we arrived resturant was closed (by two tables at front entrance) due to maintenance. The only person serving was eating at the bar at the time... ordered nachos to take away as that was only option, they came promptly but in 2 small boxes (they had no large left) no guacamole, no sourcream, just loads of chilli's and cheese. I didnt complain due to having a tired baby in hand and being hungry. They were edible but definitely not worth the money sadly. Wont be returning.

Really not up to standards. £48 for two small burgers with sides, absolute rip off. The buns were stale and the burgers were incredibly wet, absolutely dripping with some strange fluid. Both of our stomachs felt uncomfortable after eating here. Didn't finish the meal. Certainly won't return.

Great atmosphere, okay food, but an over thirty minute wait. No check backs to ensure we're having a good meal, or to take dirty dishes, or even refill the bottomless sodas. The staff are friendly enough, but seem fed up constantly. Somewhat enjoyable meal, just terrible service and they even turn away so many customers since the "kitchen is overloaded". I think a lot of their problems would be fixed by having more kitchen staff and making sure there are often check backs. 12 clean tables, four tables sat - insane. Wouldn't go back here, but I don't necessarily regret going, since I eventually got my okay food and it was nice and clean (mostly). Pictures attached :)

This is was I felt from Saturday: I wouldn't say there was much service there. Thanks to technology you have to scan a QR barcode and order in when there's bored staff lingering around. When food finally arrived, you had to ask for sauces rather than them giving you the choice (only time they asked was allergens and that was it). Apart from the price the food was good but no dips on the side. But above all else the 'World Famous Shakes' did not appeal to the mind. If you went to an OK Diner, you'd get a much better atmosphere, order service, all day breakfasts (which they weren't doing here) and a milkshake with an extra metal cup to add more ice cream to your drink. In conclusion it's alright if you're bored and stuck in Cambridge but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants a proper Diner Experience, I'd rather fancy my chance at Burger King next time!

We tried to go here for lunch today in Cambridge and were left disappointed. 20minutes sat in a booth waiting to order and no one came to us, we watched everyone who came in after us get served quickly and efficiently but for us we got tired of waiting and unfortunately decided to leave and go elsewhere. This was not even during a busy period. If you want to go there just be aware you’ll be waiting a very long time for service. Incredibly disappointing!

Cosy feel to the restaurant. Friendly staff and patient with our indecision. My daughter who is a fussy eater, chose the hotdog and to be as plain as can be. Unfortunately, ketchup and mustard was added and she turned it down. The server very nicely asked if there was a problem, explained we asked for nothing on it and he got it replaced. Awesome customer service.

I love Ed's and used to go regularly as a student. On a visit back to Cambridge I just about had time to squeeze in a trip before closing to get a takeout milkshake, but was told they were closed half an hour before their advertised closing time. There were still people in there eating. Gutted!

Just had a great vegan lunch with the family. Between us we had the vegan burgers, hot dogs and all day breakfast as well as the vegan milk shake. We all really enjoyed it all. Will be returning!

Extremely bad service and rude staff. One of the staff girls greeted us with an attitude just because we walked in normally like any other restaurant. She tried to school us that next time we need to wait by the door until she comes to serve us. She deliberately made us wait to take our order and did the same for another couple who came after us and also didn't see the invisible sign they had. If the business owners are keen on making revenue and ensure customers come again, they need to invest in hiring staff who are more experienced and don't have a teenagers eye rolling attitude.

I have recently been in Cambridge for my friends Hen do, which I organised. We were due to be visiting The Snug Grafton on Sunday 1st August for a cocktail master class which was the last activity before we travelled home on Monday. I booked this event in early June, and have had ongoing communication with the bar and also paid a deposit. On the Sunday morning we were all gearing up and getting excited about our Sunday evening of cocktail making. Little did we know, this wasn't going to happen. At 12.30pm on Sunday 1st August ( THE DAY DUE TO ATTEND THE MASTER CLASS) I received a phone from someone from the bar, saying that our master class is cancelled due to not having the trained staff to be able to carry out this event. The lady on the phone explained the bar had recently been taken over and they don't check what bookings they have until the day.. this is absolutely ridiculous. To top things off, the lady was not sympathetic and didn't understand the frustration caused. I had to break this news to 7 very excited hens, with only 6 hours until we were due to attend our class. The deposit paid I did get back today, however that doesn't resolve the issue. I find it astonishing that a company does not check what bookings they have until the day and don't pre plan events like a master class until the day. I would advise anyone who is thinking of arranging a master class at The Snug Bar, to avoid. I wouldn't want anyone to go through the same situation as myself and my hens did. I was left with the difficult job of trying to arrange another activity due to the unorganised mess the Snug Bar has caused us.

Soy un ventilador enorme de todos los comerciantes y foodPark comida de la calle alrededor de Cambridge. Después de visitar eventos foodpark muchas veces nunca estoy decepcionado con la cola y la calidad de la comida increíble y bebidas. El mercado nocturno está en una ubicación estupenda, fácil de llegar y crea un fantástico ambiente relajado - llueva o truene. Siempre hay muchas variedades de comida creativa y camionetas, con algo para todo el mundo, y aún tengo que encontrar uno que no me gusta! No tengo ningún problema en absoluto con colas y esperando cuando todo está recién preparado (en una furgoneta no menos! Como delicioso como) y lo es! Mi otra mitad y yo tuvimos un tiempo estupendo aquí encontrarse con amigos y disfrutar de una noche llena de comida, bebida y diversión. Mantener los mercados de noche y increíble trabajo equipo foodPark! :)
