Flat Iron Cambridge in Cambridge

The restaurant offers great value for money. I recommend ordering the steak medium-rare; the fries and creamed spinach are both delicious! I always suggest this place to friends—the prices are reasonable, and the food is excellent! After the meal, you can even get ice cream. I’m not usually a fan of ice cream, but this is the best I’ve ever had.

I wish I can finish the free ice-cream inside especially it’s getting colder outside now

I don’t typically gush about meals I’ve had, but I was genuinely blown away by my dinner at Flat Iron. From the drinks to the mains to the sides and ice cream, literally everything was perfection. I regret not having eaten here sooner, and I look forward to returning. The bone marrow mash alone is worth a trip!

We went here before going to The Cambridge Corn Exchange to see Squeeze. The Wagyu on offer was Bavette which is absolutely amazing cooked medium. We also had creamed spinach, fries, macaroni cheese and the mash as sides. All were absolutely top notch. Would highly recommend the mash over anything else! For drink I had a Passionfruit Collins which was also very good!

For a place that specialises in steak I was thoroughly underwhelmed by mine. Small, slightly chewy and lacking in flavour. Side dishes were small.

Some very nice food options and a good drinks selection, came on a Wednesday lunch time so didn’t expect A-game service but felt a little sloppy even so (not just because the waiter was new). Prices are very reasonable and restaurant was clean and tidy. Will visit again in the future though

We had a lovely time here for my wife's birthday this lunchtime. We were very well looked after by Ash - impeccable hospitality.

Flat Iron always get it right. Been to one of their branches in London and thought I’d give it another go while closer to home. A good simple menu with great steak, as always, at a very reasonable price. The sides here are out of this world, I’d drive hours for that creamed spinach. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Free ice cream and pop corn always goes down a treat.

Came here for my birthday with my hot girlfriend, ordered a steak and got exactly what I asked for and was delicious will definitely come again!

It was brilliant! The steak was good for the price really well cooked and the sides were amazing. Ice cream was a surprise star as well. Beef dripping popcorn was a nice touch too. Whole place smelt incredible of cooking steak.

Excellent service at flat iron cambridge, the staff were really great with my sesame allergy and thoroughly checked everything was okay (they had a great allergen menu). Special thanks to Ash who was wonderful! Will be visiting again!

Absolutely lovely as any flat iron! We got incredibly lucky as we checked online and saw no availability but decided to try anyway and were able to reserve a table at 6:45 in person! I'm not sure what the name of our waitress was who did this for us but she was amazing. Food is always delicious and cant go wrong with an ice cream as a treat at the end.

Loved my meal there! Started with some popcorn, a great way to start the meal. The Wagyu steak I would highly recommend. Had it with sides of chips with peppercorn sauce and Mac & cheese. My partner had the regular steak which she enjoyed with mashed potato. The Pinot Noir wine was really nice with the meal too! Staff were really friendly and service was swift, not forgetting the bonus of free ice cream afterwards, tasted really good. Will be returning back on another trip to Cambridge.

Really enjoyable dinner with great food and brilliant service from Oscar. The steaks are always perfectly cooked, and the sides are all amazing. The veggie option of aubergine is just as good quality and taste as the steaks - so no reason not to go! The soft serve on the way out if the perfect way to end dinner 😍

Worth the wait! We waited about 30 mins for our table to be ready. The service was great with my allergies, staff were very friendly and the food was amazing! Cooked beautifully. The price was very affordable, however, the main and sides are sold seperately. £14 for flat iron steak and £3.50 for soft drinks. I would definitely recommend! It's a shame there's only a few restaurants in the UK.

100/10! I have never heard about Flat Iron until our friends recommended it to us. It did not disappoint, everything was fantastic and delicious! Free popcorn and ice-cream! Everything was brilliant and definitely will be back again!!

We have been to a couple of Flat Iron restaurants in London and the food quality and service was just as good in Cambridge. The flat iron steak is absolutely wonderful and so tasty. The little extras like the popcorn when you arrive and the ice cream when you leave make this a great restaurant. You do need to book (particularly on a Saturday evening - we had booked)!

I like my steak well done, and this usually means the chef gives you an old boot; not here. Good meat with a lovely crust of seasoning. Bit stingy with the sauces. Sides okay. Good cocktails.

Absolutely lovely. Had medium rare Steak, Maccaroni Cheese Rosé. The Free Popcorn we started with - loved it. The staff are welcoming and we were put us on a waiting list and I got a message when the table was ready. Thank you fir the ice cream also

Just had the most amazing evening at flat iron!! The manager lady who greeted us was so helpful and friendly, (sorry i didnt get her name) instantly made us feel soo welcome!!! Then we got our table and wow!!! We had the pleasure of meeting the amazing waiter JAY!!! His banter was unreal and he made our evening super special!!! The food was suberb and cooked to perfection!!! Such a lovely atmoshere!! I would highly recommend anyone to to come here!! Hopefully i get to see JAY again 😍too!!!

Since we visited Cambridge in an off peak season, we didn’t have to wait much in the queue. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The food was great especially the side of roasted aubergine and the mash potato. They offered free ice cream at the end but it was extremely sweet. All in all, it was a good experience.

Really nice decor inside and good service. They bring you popcorn to start very quickly followed by your food order. We had a flat iron steak (£14) and a pichana wagyu steak (£22) woth side of garlic mash and beef dripping fries. The mash had little beef dripping scratchings on top. Sauces were bernaise, wild mushroom, mayo and peppercorn. Overall really good food for the price. Plus a free ice cream at the end!

The food was 10/10. Each side dish has their own beautiful flavours, that complemented the perfectly cooked steak. Ash, - our server was flawless, and informed us in detail, what the different steak cuts were, & how they come about. We finished with a gorgeous ice-cream as we walked out the door. My husband & I were amazed at the reasonable price for a such beautiful meal. Thank you.

Incredible food and great customer service. We were told our food would be a bit of a wait but the waiter (Lucy) was incredibly hospitable and friendly and even gave us two free drinks on the house!

I came yesterday with my boyfriend, we both had the flat iron steak which was cooked perfectly. The sides here are amazing, on this occasion i had truffle mac and cheese and chips. Service was great, the waiter was very charming. Drinks on the pricey side, would be nice to have a full pint of beer

Flat Iron had been recommended, but there are not many in my area. So when we got the chance we went to the one in Cambridge. Went for lunch on a Sunday. Firstly, we walked in at 11ish and the lady took our reservation for 4 at 1pm but without a name. Of course when we went back customers were queuing out the door but sure enough, she remembered us and we were taken to the table. Surprisingly brilliant. Ash looked after us at the table. His knowledge was amazing and service was fabulous. He made some really good recommendations and all of us loved our food. It was the loveliest steak meal we had eaten for a long, long time. Puddings were great too. Definitely recommend the restaurant, and there is a lovely treat at the end.. but I won't spoil the surprise. Thanks, Flat Iron and Ash.❤️

Great food, lovely service and great atmosphere. This is the third flat iron restaurant we have dined in. Inexpensive cut of flat iron steak tastes so good. Really top notch and a foodie wouldn’t complain. Excellent sided such as the chips triple cooked in beef dripping, excellent mashed potatoes and other such simple sides. However you need to know as this place is relatively inexpensive, they have to get you in and out quickly. So they do not offer starters or pudding ( except for a cone of delicious ice cream as you leave). No coffee nor tea to finish the meal with. This is why they keep the price down. Pile them high (albeit quality) and sell it cheap ( for a steak restaurant). But at the price it would be churlish to complain so for what it is, highly recommended-although prices have increased considerably in recent times as have most other restaurants.

Amazing night and amazing staff. My partner had booked us a meal for my birthday on the Wednesday evening. The restaurant had to unfortunately close at short notice due to possible riots taking place that evening and them wanting to keep staff and customers safe. After speaking to them in just a normal way and not even complaining they offered us to come back and have a meal on the house which we couldn’t believe. We re booked for the Friday evening that week. From the moment we arrived we were treated like complete vips. From Milla arranging it all for us and taking us to the table and ensuring we were ok through the night to Jay - USA our waiter being just amazing and explaining everything to us from the different steaks down to the sides and drinks. And a massive thanks to the general manager Gracia. The whole atmosphere and decor was just what I like modern with a quirky twist. Now the food was in my opinion absolutely amazing and one of my top 5 meals I have had to date. From the soft and tender steak to the beef dripping chips and the Mac and cheese was completely out of this world. Carl and Katie would like to say a massive thank you for making the evening so special for us and for a birthday meal I will never forget. Can’t wait to come back again in the future and try something different.

Fake wagyu! Tiny portion! Awful experience. But at least they give you complimentary popcorn before meal to cover the dissapointed steak.

Very good, with a clear offer and excellent drinks. A safe and warm place, good vibes, everything is done to make you feel good. Plants, quality music, very welcoming staff, it was perfect, thank you!

really bad, 45 minutes to give the drinks and then 1 hour for the food, and we didn’t order a lot, we are just 3 people and also the restaurant is not really busy to have this service I’ll never come back Really bad The worst restaurant in cambridge

Spectacular place, nice place and great meat

We went to Flat Iron for lunch after hearing all the hype about it. On arrival you get a cup of popcorn and water for the table - which was free, a nice touch. Soft drinks on average £3.50 We ordered 2 steaks medium rare, they looked rare, but we didn't mention it. We also ordered the mac and cheese, which had an off taste. The mash and chips which were delicious. The bill came to just over £50 after several charity donations and 12.5% tip which was automatically added to the bill, you could ask for it to be taken off, but that's very awkward to do, so we don't do it. After paying you are given 2 mini meat cleavers which you can exchange for ice cream, we decided to keep them as mementos. It was a nice meal, but I feel you're paying for the name and the hype.

The store is full of beef flavor, with special knives. The main character beef is a bit hard, not really firewood, average level, no big surprise.

I recently dined and was thoroughly disappointed, particularly with their highly anticipated wagyu steak. Despite the expectations, the steak was unchewable, though the taste was passable at best. The only redeeming part of the meal was the free ice cream, which was genuinely enjoyable. The service was good , but didn't make up for the poor quality of the main dish. On a positive note, the atmosphere and decoration were quite good, providing a pleasant dining environment. However, this alone isn't enough to warrant a recommendation.

We are regulars at Flat Iron in Covent Garden and just love the chain. Saw that they have a nicely decorated branch in Cambridge and decided to give it a try. We all took the Wagyu Picanha and enjoyed it - rare is the way to go! Friendly service, though they almost forgot our popcorn. Disappointed though that almost everywhere they have switched to the tasteless soft serve ice cream, prefer the salted caramel one at Covent Garden.

There were 4 of us waiters very helpful we ordered the flat iron steak the waiter decided two of the steaks weren’t cooked as they should be so took them back and we got two new ones. We got the bill at the end paid and left. When I checked it on bus home they had charged us for 6 steaks which isn’t right I can’t ring as no phone no we shan’t be going back and ask everyone to check there bills before they leave.

Great place to have a well-cooked steak! 😋 Good customer service and clearly a company that is expanding, as they’ve just opened their brand-new restaurant in Manchester too. The steaks are cooked very well and presented nicely. Not too expensive, but not on the lower end of the spectrum either. A good meal for two with a drink will easily come to £90. Worth the cost as the value is very good. #steak

Lovely buzzy atmosphere. Steaks done to perfection and excellent chips and aubergine side. A nice touch is the popcorn before and ice cream after, eat in or take out! Our waitress was excellent. Decent wine (and choice of drinks). Highly recommended. Would be wise to book.

Myself and my husband visited tonight for dinner before going to the the Corn Exchange. We have been a couple of times previously and had great food and good service. But tonight, the food was great, but the waiting staff were absolutely brilliantly wonderful, very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.. big shout out to Gina, Jay and Lucy, who were all beautiful and brilliant..

First time visiting Flat Iron at the proposal of a friend of mine and I only have great things to say about it! We ordered a Wagyu (crossbred) steak, flat iron steak, macaroni and cheese and also fries along with a coke and a passion fruit cocktail. Altogether it came to about £67 + tip. Although a little pricey for a regular meal out, the quality was fantastic! Oh and the service, my goodness the service! Absolutely wonderful all around! Jess was probably one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering anywhere. And by God if she isn’t rewarded with at least a free passion fruit cocktail after this smfh 🗿 All in all 10/10 and Vegantards beware 🥓🍖🍗🥩

Fabulous steak and sides. Very nice wine. BUT….. no choice of starters - only salted popcorn! No choice of desert - only an ice cream cone. We were in and out in less than 45 minutes. It was our wedding anniversary and I was expecting an evening out, however, we were home by 8:30pm. If you want a quick bite, then this place is to be recommended. If you want an evening out then find other steak houses. Overall - very disappointing.

Simple choice steak menu, 4 cuts of meat, it should be easy, a couple of sides, and your home. A mug of beef dripping popcorn munch on whilst you are waiting. The maim arrive on a board a central stone so it's hot and sizzling. Great side of tomato and onion salad with flavoured chips - magic. I added aubergine, tomato basil & mozzarella. It's certainly different, no starters limited mains, one desert, but these guys know their steak and produce a very good reasonably priced lunch. A different offering to Hawksmoor and the like, but in many ways better. I am a convert!

The food was good, the stake was cooked nicely and the sides were tasty. The server helped us with the menu and gave us details of the cuts and the different stakes. The burger was the most tasty dish. Loved the chips. The knife/cleaver was good fun but it was very bland. Could do better job with a knife. Unless you order a few sides, the steak itself is not enough to fill your appetite. If you are really hungry, this is not the place for you. One of the highlights of my visit was the excellent service provided by Ash. Ash was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure every detail of my dining experience was perfect. They went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious. The flat iron steak was cooked to perfection, tender, and flavorful. The sides complemented the main dish wonderfully, and the presentation was top-notch. Overall, I highly recommend Flat Iron Steak for anyone looking for a fantastic meal with outstanding service. I will definitely be returning, and I hope to be served by Ash again!

Great atmosphere and menu concept. Good was outstanding

All three of us had a bad stomach after eating there. Bad service. It was impossible to distinguish between staff and guests as they did not wear work clothes. When we entered the restaurant, no one was interested in the fact that new guests were coming. After the drinks and the food were served, no one was interested in whether we needed anything else or wanted to drink anything else. Air conditioning was very cold, it was chilly.

Nice food, but serving "2/3 pint" (380ml) draught beer with a large head in a glass that barely takes a 330ml bottle is stealing from customers.

Great atmosphere and service. Sirloin steak for two was pretty fatty. I’d stick to their original flat iron steak on future. Nice sides, the mozzarella side dish tastes just like a pizza. It’s my favourite thing on the menu.

I had Flat Iron experience with my husband twice in London, but Cambridge is so cool! Kindly and helpful staff welcomed us with smiley faces. Meat of the day Picanha wagyu was perfect prepared, sides (creamy spinach, fries and crispy bone marrow garlic mash) too! Highly recommend for all meat lovers. Staff deserves for good pay raise.

It was my first time at Flat Iron, and I'm not sure I would rush back. Menu was very limited re steak options, and fries were very small in size. Steak price was reasonable even size of portion.
