Ed's Cafe in Thanet

Well, it’s another sunny, cold, but sunny, morning in Broadstairs. I am, once again, partaking of the best breakfast in Ed’s Cafe. Got in early, as word seems to be spreading and in about an hour it will be pretty busy, but fur now it’s just me, Ed and the friendly staff. Breakfast, as always, is just perfect and just enjoying the conversation with the waitress. Honestly, you will old look a long long way before you find this combination of perfect food, great staff and comfort, that is Ed’s. If you find yourself in Broadstairs, or even Margate or Ramsgate, it’s worth the drive, do yourself a favour and give Ed’s a visit. You will not be disappointed, I promise.

Great cafe in the centre of town. Brilliant service and lovely breakfasts. Ed and the team love what they do and it shows. Always a warm welcome and the food is consistently good, whatever you order from the varied menu.

Over the years, parents retired to Broadstairs 2001, weeks have visited and enjoyed many eateries. One thing that always got my goat was cafes doing breakfasts that start at 10am. Where that all about? During the summer you can sit and watch all the family holiday makers walking around Broadstairs at 8:30, like a scene from the Walking dead, trying to find a decent breakfast that is open. Then, one day, Ed’s arrived. Opens at 8am, tick. Thought, give it a go, see how he fares. Nearly two years later, still coming here every time we visit the parents. Breakfast is really top class. Plus quite wide choice. Keep meaning to try his lunches, but after his breakfast you won’t eat again until the evening, if at all. Over the years the quality has been so consistent and I sit and watch as customers come and go, some vegan, who all rave at his breakfasts. I honestly cannot understand why you would go anywhere else. Staff are friendly and he obviously makes customer service their number one goal. The layout is comfortable, he changed it around from the last owners and it works so much better. Food is great, number one consideration for a cafe, good food. Plus open when you need him, breakfast time. You may think I have shares in Ed’s, I wax do lyrical about it, the honest answer is, I wish I had!

This was a big hit for us on our stay In Broadstairs. Friendly welcoming staff, fantastic cooked breakfast! Sausage was delicious! 5 of us and served very promptly ! We all had a small which we struggled with! Very good value for money in this little cafe and warm friendly staff ! Wish I was local

Everytime I visit my parents in Broadstairs, since they moved here in 2000, it was a struggle to get a breakfast at breakfast time! Everybody seemed to open businesses that started breakfasts at 10am and they are always very average. That’s until Ed’s opened. Not only is it a brilliant breakfast, a superb variety of options and lovely staff, he is open every day at 8am…breakfast time. If you are visiting for the day, staying for a long weekend or having a holiday, do yourself a favour, visit Ed’s. Take the family, or sneak down in your own like I do. I promise you, you will not regret it.

What can I say…… this was my sons favourite place to have breakfast before I sadly lost him to mental health. Gabriel loved it and because of him I now love it too, always a wonderful breakfast and such lovely owners and staff who welcome me all the time with smiles and compassion. They have even put a memorial of my son in their cafe! So this isn’t just somewhere to eat, it’s a safe place where they actually care about YOU too xx thank you for everything you have done for me, my family, friends and most of all my son, Gabriel xx Lou

I live in Broadstairs and go as often as as we can to this delightful cafe. Lovely family, amazing food and good value. A sunny courtyard garden a perfect sun trap. My only complaint. It’s so popular the other day it was so packed we couldn’t get a table. This cafe deserves to continue to do well we have been taking our grandson in with since he was a newborn baby and they celebrate all his developments with us. Just wish we could afford to buy our own table there so we could always get in 😍

Just visited for the first time and had breakfast. No wonder the reviews are so good. We couldn't fault it. Great hygiene Service was quick and food was delicious. They also served the food hot..... hallelujah! If only all establishments were run like this. We will br back !!!

Visited today and could not fault their breakfast. Very tasty with a fabulous choice, do tinned tomatoes as an option which I loved. Decent size mug of coffee which comes with the breakfast. We'll worth a visit.

You can't, get better. I have almost gone through the menu and every meal has been fantastic. I would recommend this cafe without hesitation. Make sure you go their when you are in Broadstairs.

Visited last year and food was delicious,do made a point of coming again this year, both had roast dinners which were excellent,lovely pleasant staff as well.

A very good cafe in the high street with friendly staff and excellent home cooked food. A clean and tidy establishment using quality produce from local suppliers. Really enjoyed our visit and will return again soon.

Stopped in Ed's on a quick visit to Broadstairs on a Sunday. Very clean, nice staff food came quickly and the roast lamb and chicken was really nice fresh vegetables and potatoes (no cheap freezer roast potatoes). Recommended.

Staff are alway very happy to help. They are always cleaning and clearing the tables as a major priority. Cutlery is always clean.
