Went on a Thursday evening. Start with the good! Chicken Karaage was great, crunchy on outside, tender chicken inside - and a good size portion too. Pork Gyozaas were light and with a delicate flavour. Now the bad. I found the Tayoyaki absolutely disgusting. Meant to be filled with Octopus, but it was just tasteless claggy sauce with no sizeable chunks of Octopus in it at all. Others have praised the Tayoyaki, but it was not to my taste. Will return, but will never order the Tayoyaki again!

The best sushi in Sheffield! This was my first time having sushi from here and it was great. Food was beautifully presented and was delicious. I will definitely be ordering again! Thank you 😊

Really enjoyed our visit here. Great atmosphere in the Cutlery Works itself. This outlet is upstairs. We tried the Japanese tapas which was 3 dishes for £12. We had six dishes in total which was more than enough for the two of us. Everything was lovely, the pumpkin croquettes being a surprise star of the show. Sent a pic of the food to a family member living in Japan who said the dishes looked pretty authentic. Will definitely be back.

The best outlet in the cutlery works by some distance. I’ve not had a bad course from the menu and I’ve tried quite a bit of it. Even my kids who aren’t massive fans of anything spicy loved it.

My partner and I went for a later valentines trip last week and had a really wonderful evening. Considering it is a one man show, the service is all top tier. The chef runs the service, cooks, and interacts with customers in front of the open grill in a really welcoming and non-invasive way. The food is also fantastic value for money with top quality ingredients portioned generously. Can't recommend this place enough!

Came here as I’m already a fan of there sushi from their takeaway. It’s a little tricky to find as they share the building with another restaurant, and occupy the lower floor, so you have to walk down the stairs if you’ve entered the top entrance, otherwise they have a back entrance direct into their venue. We were very impressed with the service, presentation and range of delicious Japanese food. The Tapas menu was a winner with my wife who got to try a few different things, while for myself, the char siu ramen very tasty and extremely moorish. All in all, can’t wait to return!

We originally booked a different night intended to celebrate our wedding anniversary but ended up being phoned by the restaurant to change the booking due to an unexpected situation. However we were offered a 50% discount as compensation, and they were able to accommodate us two Saturdays later. The service was brilliant, attentive, polite and friendly humour throughout. Unfortunately there was no non alcoholic beer but I enjoyed the Japanese passion fruit martini, which was delicious. We opted for the Menu65 which gave us chance to try quite a bit of the menu. The portion sizes were decent. The standout food was some sushi that had edible gold leaf on it (can't recall the name now) and the fillet steak main. I also enjoyed the prawn tempura sushi which had fillet steak wrapped around it. All delicious. We had a table by the door which meant unfortunately there was a cold draft whenever anyone came in or out of the restaurant so recommend wearing something warm. Also one downside was the sticky rice we ordered had a slightly too strong garlic flavour and my main meal was a bit delayed coming out, but weirdly it wasn't enough to dampen the rest of the meal and the server was really polite and apologetic about the slight delay. Everything else came out in good time. I would definitely go back as the flavour and texture of the food was fabulous and the friendly service and communication meant we still felt we were able to celebrate our special occasion
