Edge Restaurant in Weymouth and Portland

Super dog friendly, family of 10 and 2 dogs were immediately greeted with bowls of dog treats and sausages and water. Human food was lovely. Huge portions, great customer service. We had a lovely lunch as a big group with dogs it was amazing to find somewhere we were all welcome.

Had a lovely lunch. The service was prompt and very friendly. The food was very tasty and good portions. I had the crab sandwich was delicious. I also had a raspberry milkshake, was was a bit of a disappointment. I was expecting something thick and ice creamy, instead was more nesquik and milk. Even so, would highly recommend. The cakes and desserts looked fab, but didn't get to try them this time. Definitely, next time.

This is one of those hidden gems that once you find the place you'll never go elsewhere. Brilliant food and amazing staff. I have never been disappointed eating here and I highly recommend anyone to go try them.

Great little cafe. We stumbled in by chance as it was busy and that's always a good sign. The iced coffee was one of the nicest I've had. Each server we spoke to was really friendly and helpful. I ordered the bubble and squeak, which was delicious, rarely seen on a cafe menu, so I had to try it! It came with two perfectly poached eggs and was top notch. Reasonably priced too.

We had been here a couple of years ago. Revisited today......what a change. Lots of menu choice, very good vegan and vegetarian choice, and delicious food Good job guys

Great service and love well presented food every time

This was a great find when looking for a dog friendly place to eat. Friendly welcome from the young staff members. Menu offered a good choice for drinks,snacks and meals.Even sausage and biscuits for our dog. Definitely be visiting again soon as we were offered a loyalty card for our next visit. We visited Weymouth today and it was very windy and sometimes rainy. We looked for somewhere welcoming to eat and spotted this lovely hidden gem. Very cosy and welcoming and excellent food (and cakes if desired). We had a lovely chicken burger dinner, which was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Very good value at £12.00 or thereabouts. Lovely staff and great value. Thank you 😊.

Was particularly looking for wi-fi when I came across this little gem, the staff were so welcoming 😃 I only had a tea and tea cake which were both lovely. I will definitely be going back.

Fantastic service and what a great menu including plant-based offerings. Even better is that they are dog friendly and Bertie the Labrador was given treats and bowl of water!Highly recommended.

Simple cafe. A bit chilly when we were there on a cold day. Toilet out of action. Cheap enough for coffees. Friendly staff. Reasonable enough but nothing standout special.

This cafe was packed when we arrived at lunch time. It clearly is very popular including with dog owners. We nonetheless got seated in about 5 minutes. The restaurant has a large menu including some good vegan and vegetarian options. We had two melts and a bowl of soup. All tasted delicious. The service was very good too. It’s a little expensive however for what you get.

Spotlessly clean. Very popular cafe with an extensive and varied menu. I had a cracking cup of Latte and fresh Portland crab sandwich, yum! All of this made possible by friendly, hard, working staff who work as quickly as they can to grant your wishes!

Had lunch here today with family (including our little chihuahua) and the place was fabulous, great food, lovely staff. Highly recommended 👌

Food is hearty, very very reasonably priced (£2.50 for a proper plate of beans on toast) and the staff are lovely - water AND sausage+kibble for the doggo. He's begging me to come back again. Perfectly happy to let me work here, but there's no WiFi. No vegan cakes, but I was told that may change very soon 🤞

This restaurant/cafe is absolutely fab, we live in Kent and try to get to visit Dorset twice a year, when in Weymouth we will always go to the Edge, great food, coffee and hospitality all second to none, even the dog is accommodated for!

Not just a cafe! A homely and joyous experience. Dog freindly, seating outside. Plenty of seating inside too. Jacque made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I felt instantly comfortable in her company. She was kind, efficient and helpful. Hoff the dog was greeted with sausage, biscuits & a bowl of water. We had food and drink.. served quickly, food was great and the the cafe had a lovely friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend! Thank-you for a lovely experience Jacque! We'll be back!

Visited on Saturday 14 th September Ordered a tea & a coffee with two breakfasts. The food cam it was really well presented on hot plates and looked delicious it was one of the best breakfasts if not the best I have had in Weymouth & Iam here at leat 4 times a year

Just popped out for coffee (which is excellent here) and couldn’t resist the Portland crab sandwiches. They were absolutely awesome. Wonderful, friendly, independently owned business - might pop back for lunch!

Lovely restaurant. Had the Eggs Benedict which came on a bed of bubble and squeak instead of the usual muffin. Was fantastic, made more so by the addition of a balsamic glaze. Staff were friendly and helpful and the location is good right in the centre of town. Well worth a visit.

Another fantastic meal with something for everyone from 18 months to 61 years old. Meat eaters and vegetarian also. Our once yearly trip to Weymouth isn't complete without a visit to your clean,friendly cafe. Great food at very reasonable prices. Don't ever change.

The best dog friendly restaurant we have been to. Very friendly staff who obviously love animals. Our Whippet was treated to a bowl of sausage pieces, biscuits and a bowl of water. Coffee good quality too. GF food on the menu so for us it was a perfect stop. Thanks to all the staff who were all full of smiles and pleasant chat.

My beans were luke warm. My hash brown was very greasy (did you deep fry and not drain properly?) My sausages were pale and anaemic and tasted strange. Even my dog refused to eat his own and my sausage and shes nicknamed Dyson. She'll eat anything. My egg was round with a brown bottom and brown crispy edge. The film over the yolk was hard, I used my fork to pierce it and was able to lift the whole egg from the plate. It was rubbery and inedible. I ordered a slice of toast expecting it to arrive on a side plate which a couple of pats of butter. I prefer my toast dry however. Not only did it arrived buttered (only in the middle thankfully. I ate around the edge) but it had been put on the mushrooms and was was horrible and soggy.

We only had coffee and tea cakes, but will come again and again, I’m sure. The menu gives an amazing choice!

Amazing cafe.super dog friendly,our 4 dogs were each given a bowl of sausage and biscuits on arrival which lasted all of 10 seconds!😀.staff were brilliant.will definitely visit here again.

Took our dog and my family. Kids enjoyed cheese scones. And enjoyed homemade Plain scones. Both were warmed up. Dog had biscuits and water and after a sausage. Very good service. Will be back again

Great value, big selection and all really well cooked. Wandered around for a while looking for a place to get a hearty breakfast and this really didn't disappoint. Something for everyone and really warm and welcoming service.

The best place for breakfast if you have dogs. I have never been to a cafe that cater for dogs so well and the food is amazing definitely will be coming back.

Great 4 dog people and those who don't but like them. Free dog meal that lasted less that 10seconds 🤣🤣 Jacket was good My sandwich wasn't as good as had else where and fries shocking (needed longer in fryer) The dog set up was very good and place was busy.. I would defo go again

Lovely place to eat. Prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food. All freshly cooked and really tasty. Been here a few times and I have no reservations about recommending it.

Me and my partner frequent this delightful cafe often. You are greeted by smiles and a warm welcome which always makes us feel great even when in the depths of hangriness. Me and my partner have tried many things on the menu and we are never too sure what to have as everything is so scrumptious! This is one of the best places for a veggie breakfast. The toasties are awesome too! The cakes are also fantastic, the carrot cake is spectacular! Go and visit this splendid cafe, you will not regret it!

Amazing toasted sandwiches and the best ginger and date scones. The rest of the menu looks great too but I've yet to try. Always busy and staff are polite.

We went in for lunch and the staff were very friendly and good amazing . Being gluten was not a problem either loads to choose from and lots of cake available too .

Only open during weekdays, shut at weekends which I find strange and disappointing.

Dog and child friendly, a must these days. I had the pea and ham soup with soda bread which was amazing. My granddaughter had the childrens sausage and chips but with salad which she enjoyed. I think it was the little extras they offered which put them above others. A fresh individual bowl of water for my dog with a bowl of food at no extra cost. The place felt roomy and we weren't packed in with plenty of room for the dogs to lay down. Service was good with smiling, happy faces.

Just a snack on this visit. Two good coffees, latte and flat white. Well cooked poached eggs with really yellow yolks. Excellent cheese scone. Couple next to us tucking in to a generous Full English that looked the part so we'll be back.

Wow what a little treasure this is. We had wondered if Weymouth had anywhere at all that welcomed dogs! Then quite by chance we found the Edge Cafe. Think of it as a dog cafe that allows humans in .... The staff were very friendly and helpful, service was quick and the food was good. We were asked if our little dog Toby could have a free snack, this turned out to be a bowl with sausage and biscuits. They also bought a bowl of water for him. We'll worth a visit either with or without your dog.

Called in twice on our short-break for breakfast. Food was superb, proper poached eggs, griddled bacon, great toast, avocado etc. Very friendly service and very dog-friendly (offered sausage and biscuits). All at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Wow!!! We walked passed and had a look though the window trying to find somewhere which is dog friendly. The staff there are so polite, great food, so much to choose from. Sandwiches, all day breakfast, chips, children’s meals and great selection of cakes. Recommend to everyone. Unfortunately only open until 2:30pm

Came here for a snack halfway through visiting Weymouth. Very lovely people inside and the cream teas and latte we had were really nice! The scones tasted fresh and was warm and the cream and jam was very delicious. Really would recommend. Outdoor seating too and dog friendly :)
