We came for a birthday party at the soft play and stayed and had some lunch - such a lovely venue with gardens and walking areas as well as the cafe and softplay for kids. The food in the cafe was surprisingly good. Excellent options for those with dietary requirements and really delicious food which seemed to be properly made from scratch (veggie/vegan mushroom sausage roll and GF pizza were a real hit!). Service was lovely too. Will definitely visit again.

Brilliant family orientated place. Beautiful play area outside to eat so the kids can play outside. A brilliant softplay and they have a meet the animals experience where you get to feed them, hold them and stroke them. If going with young ones I’d recommend taking a pram up to do the animal experience as it’s quite a walk to get them to the animals

We know this place well for a start to walking the nearby reservoirs but have not eaten there We love the look of the cafe and the staff we're very helpful and friendly. We ordered a panini between two and they halved it and on separate plates with salad and coleslaw.Delicious We had to send out lattes back as not hot and we had asked for extra hot.The lady apologised and brought another two over which were hotter but not extra hot but we just kept them. The views are lovely and everything is very clean. Quite pricey but where isn't but food is from local suppliers and cooked on the spot. Discussing with friends ,one friend was meeting her friend today for lunch. There is a play area for kids which she loves and gives her time to chat.My other friend was there at the weekend for the same reason. Recommended.

After a hike to The Whangie, we visited Edenhill for lunch refuelling stop before going for round two. Set in the dramatic scenery of Kilpatrick Hills, the place has great views, although it was too cold to sit outside. The indoor seating area has large windows where you can still enjoy the views. The outdoor area has a small play area which I'm guessing would be fantastic for children in the summer. The interior is tastefully decorated and quite a homely shaded of faded blue. Everywhere in the dining area looked really clean despite the number of hikers who must pass through. They even have a real fireplace where there was a log fire. The menu has a good selection of options for vegetarians and meat eaters. As we were going to hike in The Whangie again, we only wanted some light items. We went for the Minestrone Soup, the Veggie Sausage Roll, a couple of coffees. I had a little of the soup. It was good homemade soup. The sausage roll was excellent. Instead of meat or veggie meat, it was filled with mushrooms, leek and cauliflower, but compacted nicely together into a proper British sausage roll pastry. For dessert, the selection of cakes weren't really to my tastes, although I still got a Pecan Flapjack. The staff were friendly throughout and I think Edenhill is ideal for families and as a stop for hiking in Kilpatrick Hills.

Lovely friendly staff. The log burner is just lovely at this time of year. Food was lovely and portions more than ample. We opted for the egg mayo sandwich on brown bread. This was delicious and crammed with filling. My companion had the macaroni cheese and said this was also delicious. Only down side it is very small, we arrived about 2pm on a Sunday and the place was almost full. Reasonably priced menu. Will definitely go back.

Arrived at 18:10 for my half past 6 experience (as we were asked to do on the website) to be greeted by a lady in high vis who said we were too early and that we would have to wait in our car. At 18:30 we went back over to the lady who checked us in but didn't us much information about what we were going to do. We were given a piece of paper for the scavenger hunt but no pen as they said they'd run out. My wee one was excited to spot the objects and was really disappointed when we could only find 2. We walked along a short path through some Christmas trees and were disappointed not to meet any more members of staff or elves along the way. Santa's grotto was...lets just say tired looking, we waited outside for 10 minutes to then be greeted by Mrs Clause, during the time in Santa's grotto my wee one had a grand total of 4 minutes with Santa and was told he could pick from a range of 4 toys. Santa's dog was on Santa's seat so we didn't have a chance to get a photo with him sitting down. Thankfully we're not afraid of dogs but felt i was unnecessary to have the dog in the grotto. My son was then offered a selfie with Santa and then we were asked to leave. His gift was a little magic set and the wand inside was broken - it seemed very cheap and poor quality for the £22.50 we paid for a child's ticket. Next was the animals and i can only presume they were tired after being fed all day as they had no interest in coming over (i realise you can't guarantee anything with animals). We went down and met another staff member in high vis selling marshmallows and animal feed and we thought we'd see if we could attract them over however this didn't work either. We went to toast marshmallows but couldn't because the fire was pretty much out - we tried for a while but had to give up and just eat them untoasted. Animal feed and marshmallows were £7 extra - quite steep for 2 marshmallows on a stick. I tried to cheer my son up by telling him the next stop was decorating an ornament but when we got there there were none left in the workshop - the tables were all drawn over and pens all over the place but no decorations - the whole place was very dingy looking and just two slumped toy elves watching over proceedings - a staff member in here would've really made a difference. I was shocked to realise this was this was the experience over - we were heading back to our car not even 30 mins later. The two members of staff we saw weren't dressed in any Christmas outifts and were seriously lacking in Christmas cheer. We were not directed to any hot food or face painting as promised on the website and from what I could see everything was closed up. I'm not sure why you would have a 18:30 slot sold if you weren't offering the same as you offer to your customers in the middle of the day. I definitely won't be returning here next year as for the amount of money I paid I expected a far better experience. Really let down by this and now have to find another Santa visit to get some real Christmas cheer for my son.

What an experience we had at Edenmill. We arrived (6 of us) to get our annual Christmas Tree, and event in itself and was totally blown away with the vast range of trees on sale, and thanks to the lovely gent who had the banter too. We ended up buying 2 lovely trees........ Then over to the busy cafe, and ordered a round of toasties and soup for us all. After spending a morning at Edenmill, I truly recommend for a stop off. And to make it even more special, we had the snow. Thank you and Merry Christmas

After such a lovely experience seeing Santa (which I would give 5 stars!) We went for some lunch. Ordered 2 soups and a portion of chips. Was told it would be a 20minute wait we could see they were busy and said that was fine. We waited 45 minutes and were eventually served cold soup. Took it back to the till, the lady was quite rude saying if you want your money back you’ll need to bring the chips up now before I refund you…. No apology. People around us were all waiting a long time as well. Such a shame after a lovely day seeing Santa. Went to the st mocha drive thru down the road. Go and see Santa but avoid the cafe.

Came for the day to choose and cut down two Christmas trees which was great, the guys, Ben and Findlay were really helpful. Went to cafe, admittedly very busy however waited so long for food that the trees had the chance to grow back in the field. A little frustrating in that orders were leaving the kitchen randomly. Top tip, don’t sit next to the door to outside area. Nice idea, shame about the execution.

Went to see Santa today which was great, Santa and Mrs Clause were 10/10. The cafe on the other hand was shocking with poor service. Waited nearly and hour for two soups and a plate of chips. Not ideal trying to entertain a young child for this length of time. Soup arrived cold. When pointing this out to the rather rude lady on the till she offered no apology, simply saying they were busy. Stating there is a 20 min wait (which we were happy with as they were busy) then leave folks waiting nearly and hour is outrageous. Got my money back and went to the drive through cafe just down the road which was excellent. Not sure I would return even to see Santa purely based on the rude and unprofessional lady on the till in the cafe which is a real shame.

We had a fabulous morning at Edenmill yesterday. It’s our second visit. Well worth travelling from Glasgow for beautiful surroundings, great food, welcoming staff and a clean soft play 👍🏼

Dropped in for a sport of brunch today... Food and drink cannot be faulted. Staff were a tad lackadaisical too many behind the counter and not concentrating on the customers (talking) but did eventually come over to take our order and apologised for the delay....

Very disappointing. Coffee served cold. Told it was Table service so took a seat only to see counter service in operation. No leadership in view. Seemed disorganised.

The cafe and soft play area have been completely re vamped and now it’s a fun place to visit with younger children and enjoy a good coffee and home baking or lunch. As the soft play is not very large I would recommend this for...

Like other recent reviewers have mentioned , ignore the old reviews as Edenmill had just been completely revamped and reopened. The cafè/ restaurant is bright and airy, and even on a midweek visit, had a steady stream of visitors. The food was excellent and the...

Great news that the Edenmill Farm has been taken back over and recently reopened by the original owners. The butcher meat they supplied was always the best especially the steak pies. Great to see they have even brought back the original butcher they had too....

Stopped for a lunch break thoroughly enjoyed it and was made aware of the parking situation and there is also a display to allow you to put in your details so why others have complained when it's right in front of you ? Anyway food service and surroundings were all excellent

I ordered the venison burger, it was really awful. If one part of the meal was not good i would of mentioned it and given them the chance to sort it. But due to so many parts of the meal being really bad it made more sense to write a bad review. The food was what the food was. Chips were sickly pale and undercooked, onion rings were undercooked in oil not hot enough leaving it thick and soaked through the batter, oil was also not clean, it had black bits throughout. The burger bun was dry and freezer burned, either stale or hard at edges from being microwaved. The venison burger had been frozen and defrosted in the microwave, but too long in the microwave so it was dry and solid like a hockey puck. The woman at the bar was not particularly friendly either, not the younger girl, the older one. We spend £45 in there, we were extremely hungry from climbing so we ate it all but it really really was terrible and just to fill a hole.

Pulled in on a rest stop and how wonderful it was. My sister was veggies so was worried about the choice but the burgers were great! 10/10 recommended!
