Eden River Cafe in Eden

Called in late on Bank Holiday Monday and enjoyed a lovely cappuccino and chocolate cake. It was in fact a huge slice of cake which was chocolatey light and absolutely delicious We’ll definitely be returning for more cake the next time we are in Appleby

Came for a bite to eat today with my mam from Newcastle Upon Tyne.Loved every bit of this little cafe very friendly staff ,SUPER DOOPER food🌯🍟☕️ we will be back if we come back to Appleby 10/10 I highly recommend this cafe💗✨️ ..P.S LOVE💗 the dog🐾🐶 friendly sign😆!!x

Dog friendly cafe with very friendly welcoming staff. The homemade leek and potato soup was delicious and the waitress went out and bought the ham fresh for my sandwiches. The Victoria sponge was also a hit and very enjoyable. Our dogs had a lovely time and we all enjoyed our brief stopover in the town.

Always lovely to pop in here for breakfast when we visit beautiful Appleby. Great food, great prices, great service Thankyou. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the perfect place to sit out on the deck overlooking the river Eden and watch the ducks! Staff were really friendly and efficient. The fruit scones were delicious and the big pot of tea served with beautiful pottery mugs made it feel really relaxed. There is also inside seating.

We were on holiday and had breakfast at Eden River Cafe before catching the bus to Penrith. We were the first customers of the day. Everything was freshly cooked. Excellent value. Staff really friendly and helpful.

We came in for couple of drinks lovely hot chocolate the works cream marshmallows ,cappuccino and bacon baps ,cafe soon filled up wish we had found you couple days ago ,will definitely be back next time we visit .

Stopped for a brew and a smoke whilst wandering around the beautiful little town of Appleby. Sat outside with a great view of the river. Richard the owner made us feel very welcome and we look forward to returning again

Lovely coffee stop after a walk along the river. Breakfasts looked good although we didnt eat there.

Fuimos a Appleby hoy para echar un vistazo. Cuando llegamos decidimos tomar un café. Encontramos este café, cuando entramos pedimos dos cafés y también dos bollos de frutas caseros, que tomamos con mantequilla y un bote de mermelada cada uno. Debemos decir que estos son los mejores bollos en mucho, mucho tiempo. El dueño fue muy servicial y agradable. La próxima vez que estemos en Appleby, sin duda volveremos a ir. Quizás la próxima vez probaríamos un trozo de los pasteles que se ofrecen. También preparan comida caliente.

Una muy buena visita a este café para almorzar. La primera comida "interior" posterior al cierre que habíamos comido, y todo estaba bien, incluido el desinfectante justo dentro de la puerta, que permanecía abierta ya que el día era cálido. El café era tan bueno como la comida, luego me las arreglé para conseguir el último trozo de tarta de limón para el pud. Eso necesita su propia revisión de 5 estrellas, para ser honesto. Bastante ocupado, pero no se sentía lleno de pedidos y servicio eficientes. Muchas gracias

We had lunch here for 3 day's and the food was so lovely, the people where so friendly and what was so nice was it was dog friendly, which our black Labrador loved.

What a fantastic cafe. Lovely warm welcome, super lunch. Just a lovely place to be. The brocoli bake was delicious. Now await the rhubarb crumble. Thank you.

Unpretentious, simple, friendly. Inexpensive. Very good mushroom & ham omellette. Young waiting staff (is one allowed to say "pretty"?). Not an extensive menus, and might be challenging for those with dietary constraints.

Brilliant little cafe, lovely selection of veggie and non-veggie options, scrummy Baileys/hot chocolate drinks, mouth watering cakes ... Place is very clean and tidy and Dave and team are very polite and hard working.

Needed some refreshment at lunch time. Hospitable staff, good value. Try it. Mature cheddar on toasted crumpets hit the spot. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Washed down with a glass of Malbec.

Run by Dave and Helene and their staff.Lovely little cafe, clean and tidy and doggy friendly.They have a good selection of meaty and vegetarian meals and alsolovely cakes including a gorgeous cake with Baileys in it! They also have these amazing tea mugs that are double and have two handles!

Durante una parada de 2 horas en Appleby nos apetecía un refrigerio, así que nos dirigimos desde la estación de tren hasta la ciudad y lo encontramos aquí. Chicas encantadoras sirviendo a todos agradables. ¡Ajusté una mesa para acomodar a mi familia anciana! Gran olla encantadora de té fresco y bonitas bollos y tartas tostadas y muy razonable. Definitivamente lo recomendaría a cualquiera que visite!

Called with friends and our dog. Sat in a small back room which was lovely and quiet. Ordered sandwiches - tuna, chicken/bacon which were served with a good salad and crisps. One of us had cheesy chips. All enjoyed our meals - good coffee too.Friendly staff. Recommend and will return.

We called in for a late light lunch, tempted by the all day breakfast and the fact that the cafe was quite busy despite it no longer really bring lunch time.Very friendly staff, chatty and fun.We had a bacon bap, excellent scone with good jam and clotted cream and the biggest pot of tea you’ll ever tea (plus extra hot water... always good) for under a tenner. It’s not the smartest, and the loo isn’t either! But we liked it and would recommend it

Nice friendly cafe with good service, only had a coffee so cannot say a lot more. Would have gone back if we were there longer.

The title sums up this awesome café. The owner has the right attitude and goes much further than the extra mile to please.

This super little cafe is on the Main Street near to the bridge.The 2 young girls were very friendly & we only had drinks but they were nice.

Stopped for coffee and went back again 2 days later for breakfast. Great food, good value and super friendly atmosphere.

Just stopped in for a quick drink but the staff were lovely even though you could tell they were being run off their feet.

Great friendly place and staff. Partner had sausage and mash while i had one of the best bacon cheese burgers in a long time. Will visit again next time we are in Appleby.

We stopped here during a cycle ride around the Appleby Area. There are two cafe's next door to each other. It was quite late in the afternoon and the cafe adjacent had closed. We were greeted with a hello and a recently occupied table was cleaned so we could sit in the window. We chose tea and two cakes. The tea pot was huge - we got three cups of tea each & the cakes were fresh and well baked. It was a traditional simple cafe. Would visit again.

We had arrived early for our accommodation reservation so walked into Appleby for a bite to eat. The place looked inviting so we wandered in. We were met with a smile and an hello and sat down.

Had cheesy chips with bacon which was lovely. Husband had steak pie. Small cafe ,all on one level. A lovely homely place.

Stale scone (at least two days old). I took it back and just got asked if I wanted another. Rather pointless as they all looked stale. Friend asked for beans on toast with wholemeal bread, He got white bread. Coffee - was given a tiny cup and wasn't told larger cups were available.

Thought seating was uncomfortable, but the location is superb. staff friendly, but limited menu, sufficient for snacks.

Basic looking cafe but service was good, friendly and chatty. We had lovely date and pecan scones with clotted cream and jam which were lovely. The place was busy and the prices were reasonable..

This cafe looks pretty from the outside and looked forward to a rainy day refresh there. We ordered a £6:50 bacon and cheese panini to find one piece of fatty bacon on it. We mentioned this when asked about our meal incase it was just a simple error, the reply 'ok'. I'll also mention that they family before me complained that there sausage was only half cooked. The pot of tea wasn't bad though if we want to look at the positives.

Called in here on Sunday afternoon 11/6/17 during the Appleby Horse Fair. Burger and fries for my wife and steak pie , fries and peas for myself. The food was served lukewarm and the peas were a dark green/grey colour like they had been kept warm all day. At nearly £7 for the burger and nearly £8 for mine it did not represent good value. The tea was advertise as a pot of tea for one at £1.85 pence . We had ordered two and the pot was in actual fact a beaker cup half filled with water with the tea bag still in. I questioned the waitress about a teapot of tea and she said it was served this way for convenience . I pointed out that the cup was only half filled with water. She went away and I thought it was to bring some hot water . I was wrong , she was just not interested.
