I just had an absolutely brilliant burger here, and my daughter loved her chicken tenders and milkshake too. Great food, the service was really fast and laid back, matching the comfy casual ambience of the restaurant perfectly, with excellent tunes throughout. A*, 10/10! Ps Google is a bit naff for guiding to the door, and there are currently major works on the path outside, but persevere and you will be rewarded...

It was my first time going here, it turned out to be such a lovely establishment, we were welcomed in with a smile and positive attitude. Then to be seated without booking a table, additionally our drink orders were collected quickly, swiftly followed up by our food orders. The food was immaculate, presented nicely and tasted even better. All the staff were very welcoming and worked professionally. I would 100% recommended this restaurant, whether you want to visit for food or for a catch-up with friends as the cocktail menu looked incredible and the music made the atmosphere a lot nicer to be in. I’ll be visiting again☺️

Food was great, although very limited choice but it was great. Waitress was extremely rude and she shouldnt be working there. Very negativ and almost argued with us. She was the worst Waitress i ve ever seen. Very disappointing.

The menu is full of delicious food. Opted for the honey halloumi tacos, which were very tasty. Good portion sizes. Staff were friendly and helpful.

For the day, my boyfriend and I were in Cumbria! Before catching the train back to Edinburgh, we made the decision to go to lunch. Along with a side dish of coleslaw and onion rings, we ordered a Texan brisket and a double bacon burger My burger was still red and raw when I sliced into it! I asked the waitress to check with the chief When the waitress returned, she stated, "The chief checked The temperature and was cooked ," Who want to eat a raw burger?! my partner ate it then notice his was the same. We both have not been feeling great- we only ate a few onion rings chips and a thirds of the slaw We paid just under 40 pounds and was t worth it Also the atmosphere was horrendous and the staff were average. I think if you can’t cook or tell if a burger is raw then don’t work in a kitchen as a chief

My first time in the Cafe and the staff are hundred percent dedicated to the job they do I went in sat down the food very nice with a coffee to wash it down and staff asking how the food was couldn't have been happier

Went here for a friends birthday lunch, we actually really enjoyed the food, the burger was a bit dry however every single one of us (4 people) have ended up really poorly with food poisoning. We have been sick for at least 5 days. We wouldn't return here because of this.

As visitors to the area we were looking for somewhere to get some great food and found this place on Google. It fit expectations and was really good. Great menu options, good gourmet burgers (that come with fries too!) And a good option of drinks, deffo worth a visit

Ate here last night, spur of the moment. Had burgers and cheesy fries, very tasty, good drinks and cocktails, staff were friendly and fun. Atmosphere was relaxed. Will go again

The place was lovely but the brisket burger was a little dry and felt like it could of use a little more BBQ sauce.

Popped into Carlisle from Gretna. Looking for a nice meal to celebrate our anniversary. Whole town was busy but was drawn to Eaten by Monsters. Doorman said the burgers are grest they were amazing. Great atmosphere great staff and the burgers were amazing. If you get the chips then pay for the 3 cheese sauce two pounds well worth it. Definitely will go again next time we are up that way.

Without doubt, the very best burger I have ever had. Awesome food and worth every penny.

Eaten by Monsters is back! Went for lunch today and enjoyed a super triple cheese burger with seasoned fries, buffalo wings on the side. Awesome. Plus they have a great selection of beers too. Nice setup and friendly staff. Check it out...

A great american style eatery that isn't too badly priced.

This was the first time I had been to try this gastro pub but I was more than pleased with the service that I was given and it is not often you get three plates of food as a meal for one Once things get back to normal I will be using them again

Was here yesterday with 5 girlfriends for lunch. Even though we had pre ordered it took an hour for our meals to come out. Food was really nice when it did come out. I had nachos and sweet potato fries. They were big portions. I had 3 gins. Apple and rhubarb and a blood orange which were so good. Very reasonably priced. Was busy place.

Worst service I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. We were advised that there was a 30-45 minute wait for food, but then it was almost another 20 from then before anyone bothered to come over to even take a drinks order. At that point we also ordered food. Then we waited. A table that ordered about the same time as us got theirs, so I figured it wouldn't be long till ours came. Nope. Another table that ordered significantly after we had (actually after the previously mentioned table had received their food), then got theirs. To make things worse, two other tables who placed orders after that had cutlery delivered to them. So over 45 mins after ordering food, and watching customers who ordered after us be served, we left.

Good selection of ales, ciders they also offer cocktails too. Freindly staff and busy which is a good sign..

Went here with a group of 9 friends for drinks while celebrating a birthday ordered drinks and found table no problem. Only been in 5 minutes when a member of staff asked us to keep the noise down (we were talking not shouting) as a table had just come in with a small child! Bearing in mind it was a Saturday afternoon and they had other tables in downstairs ours was the only one asked to keep noise down. We payed for our drinks like everyone else so to be told to basically b quiet was somewhat ridiculous. Surely the people when booking a table would know on a Saturday afternoon that people are going to be out having drinks so noise is to be expected as this is classed as a bar and grill.

Maybe a bad day to visit, an hour for food, mains of burger and hanging kebab which were nice... Chips were like the scraps that a left but all the fries like this... Sticky table which had to ask to be cleaned... Heard good things about this place but not worthy on this occasion.

Went in with friends earlier today, advised then we were only looking to have a drink. We were directed to sit downstairs and someone would come and take our drinks orderFive minutes later no one had turned up despite staff passing by many times so we walked out. If you don't want non diners can you be honest about it please and not treat non diners as second class ?! Very poor treatment. We went to many other places afterwards and had an excellent experience.

I love the food here and allways try something different off the menue each time I visit, they offer a good selection of drinks and the atmosphere is allways friendly.

We went here for birthday burgers and there was no complaint at all, as the food was good. But, here was a distinct lack of "atmosphere" really and that's a shame is it is a great location and nice "shabby chic" décor and good amenities.On reflection, we felt the staff (although quite efficient) were a bit disinterested in the patrons and seemed to chat amongst themselves a but more that other places?

We arrived late & was rather a large group. Staff couldn't have been more helpful to accommodate us all. Staff were all pleasant. Place is shabby chic & quirky. The food was amazing and everyone enjoyed it. We will definitely be going back when in the area.

When the hotel where you're staying features a restaurant with mediocre food and worse service, it's time to explore and find someplace else to eat. Fortunately, we found Eaten by Monsters completely by accident. It was a fortuitous find. Good drinks and excellent food awaited us. His ribs and my five-bean chili hit the spot. The prices were good and service was fantastic.

We came here because we liked the name and booked a table (recommended!). The staff were amazing, we were served by a gent in a mustard colour jumper and he was brilliant. So friendly, polite and served us from start to finish. We had chicken wings (huge portion!) to start and then I had the Tequila Fajitas and my friend had the Chicken Goujon burger. I was a bit hesitant as I'm not a fan of tequila and I don't usually like steak in my fajitas as it gets chewy but the price was really cheap considering it was steak and chicken, and so worth a shot. I was not disappointed! The chicken was fresh and juicy and the steak the same and the tequila just added a kind of sweet tase. It was so tasty! My friends burger was really good too.I will definitely be returning if we are back in the area again and recommend others to give this place a go.

Nice cosy atmosphere took my date here to try somthing different, drinks choices was amazing as am a gin drinker had lots and my fave blood orange one, and the meal we had we both enjoyed as I say the drinks catered for all sorts and they do an amazing zombie drink but one was enough to send me over the edge so I can see why its 2 per customer haha. Staff are friendly approachable and really helpful and I cant fault the evening team very engaging to all customers would high recommend to friends and family to visit.

This is the second year we visited for our annual get together and the steak was fantastic, the only time I have tasted steak as good was in Spain and Portugal so any one who can cook steak like the Portuguese get the thumbs up from me

I cannot even start to describe how helpful and amazing the staff here are, myself and my wife booked this place for our reception for our wedding for around 40 people. To start the booking was really easy, answering my questions and ironing out any concerns I had, they gave us the whole downstairs which is a massive space, on the night of the wedding I was allowed to decorate and basically do what I wanted which was absolutely amazing, the food was incredible, most of our party assumed when they heard we were doing buffet food, I'td be cold sandwiches and scotched eggs but it wasn't, burgers, fries, halloumi bites, everyone was so thrilled with the food, even taking home some of the left overs, drinks flowing and people celebrating, it was fantastic and so unstressful, when it was coming to an end the staff were so helpful with the clean up doing it themselves and not wanting us to do it for it was our wedding even popping it back into the boxes and storing them away for us to pick up the next morningSo basically to sum up this whole experience book any special occasion with these guys as you won't regret it.

Wow! Excellent food, chairs bloody uncomfortable as they are going for the bearded brown shoe Bohemia patron which is a shame as it probably puts people off sampling bloody excellent food!

Quirky decor, friendly service, great bar and loved the food.Being a chef it’s so hard to find a good meal cooked by someone that cares. This place certainly does care. One of the biggest and best burgers have had. The buggers was really tasty with just the right amount of seasoning it dry (like most big burgers are) the chilli cheese chips are tremendous. Bit of advise make sure you have of room for the food it's brilliant

Had tea and drinks here on a Friday night. Even though they were relatively busy, the service was excellent and food very good too.

We did not book ahead but despite a busy Saturday evening we managed to get seated downstairs away from the hustle of the drinking trade in the main bar. The menu was straightforward, burger and fries with a few extras; wings, burritos, club sandwich. Our server was polite and attentive. We had a good time and wouldn't hesitate to go again. Good selection of beers and tap and hand pull to go alongside a cocktail menu.

Delicious food. The chicken burger was amazing!! Better than the beef. Food was a bit slow for a table of 6- but definitely worth the wait. Big starter size. Service was 5 star. Would come again if I was in Carlisle.

Initially, we planned going to Nando’s as it seemed the easy option but noticed the bright yellow menu in the window and the options looked great. The restaurant is quite small so I imagine at busy times there would be quite a wait however we struck lucky and

Attended EbM with a group of girls for a friends birthday lunch. We were seated downstairs promptly and had our drinks orders taken quickly. We ordered food which was absolutely delicious. Very reasonable prices for what you get. Would recommend.

We went here on 2 occasions before going elsewhere to eat. A very good range of wine, spirits, cocktails. Great music, varied play list we were there early 6-7 and it was fairly busy. Casual atmosphere so we didnt feel scruffy when we turned up in our walking gear having finished Hadrians wall. Friendly staff, Food coming out looked good, lots of burgers and shared plates.Would have eaten there if doing something later like going to cinema A range of ages but mainly younger people, couples, friends,people just popping in for a drink.

This place has a nice interior decor, some interesting cocktails and charismatic staff. I'm yet to try the food but from what I've seen it looks delicious.

Being a Chef by trade its hard to find a venue that isn't like a 'Busmans Holiday', thankfully EBM is exactly that. Very cool styling, good music, and a great choice of drinks to complement the menu. I started with a Coffee before a Punk IPA, but the Cocktails are the standout beverages. The Food was served relatively quickly, and does exactly what it says on the tin - Monster portions. Good flavours, piles of calories, exactly what I wanted.

Intentionally shabby surroundings probably throb with life of a night - but our party of nine ate a late lunch there which was reasonably OK, the portions were generous and the service pleasant, but those of us who had steak were all served with medium to well done meat even though rare and medium rare had been ordered.

Lovely place, if you go in you need to try the Zombie cocktail.

We happened to pass this restaurant and thought we would give it a go. A good decision. The decor is quirky but nice. The service was excellent. The burger was one of the best I have had. It was well cooked and clearly made of superior meat.

Had the most meal. Halloumi fries to start, and then I had the chicken parmo burger and my husband had the monster mac. Both were delicious, reasonably priced and great service. Definitely recommend

Excellent food and ambiance but the seats were hard.

Excellent meal last night. Shared the nachos and onion ring stack for staters. I had the mixed grill for main. It beat me. Chili fries are amazing. The rack of ribs was a slight let down but not enough to mark the meal down. I have to confess it beat me. I was uncomfortably full! And I've got a big appetite!

Had an amazing time. Great food and a menu with some serious highlights. All the burgers feel unique and you can customise fries/sides, etc... Worth the trip!

Tiny tables, weird dissolving flowers in the gin, cold chips and a burnt hot dog roll. Not much else to say except it was very disappointing and the only redeeming feature was the chilli cheese fries.

We have been here a many times now a great night for dates or simply having a few drinks with friends. The food is and always has been amazing, we cannot fault it in any way. The service is likewise excellent friendly staff who treat you as friends rather than punters (as mentioned by some other reviews here)
