Caffe nero in Carlisle

The prices keep going up but the quality of the drinks do not match. Today I ordered a cappuccino, it came in a latte cup, no chocolate and was pretty tasteless and not particularly hot. Drinks are either scalding hot or just warm. A toilet would be really appreciated as well. On the plus side you can take dogs in and the drinks are better than Costa! And you can't fault the staff for the prices and quality! I just wish we had a Starbucks in the city centre as well!

Coffee is lovely. However, virtually nothing at all to eat for coeliacs. I was offered a date-expired, mass produced flapjack in a plastic wrapping. Staff did their best to find a fresher one without success.

I am a regular customer in Cafe Nero. Coffee always tastes nice. Always getting hot and never had any problems. Food wise is really good as well. Staff friendly and chatty and also very helpful. You can have a good banter with them.

This is my go to cafe for coffee but I usually have the chai latte which is my favourite. There's plenty of seating and it has easy access on the ground floor. I gave four stars because when I visited on Sunday quite a few tables needed clearing and cleaning.

This is my third time dining at Caffe Neero and I can say that I truly like the coffee and foods they are catering. However I felt discriminated earlier when we dined in together with my friends. I patiently waited for my turn in the queue however the lady with the orange hair (staff) called the person behind me instead of taking my order. She honestly saw me already as an English elderly man is infront of me. Not too tall just the average and my height isnt that small. Im 5 ' 2" in height and medium size frame ( Just to emphasize that I am not too small for anybody not to see ) . She actually looked at me twice prior calling the guy and her partner behind me and took their order first before asking if I ordered already. Didnt even received any apology from her or anybody from the staff who heard and saw the incident. I hope this wont happen again to anybody especially to immigrants like me. I still cannot forget how bad this makes me feel today even if Im so tired and entertained well by my friends earlier. I understand that everybody is just getting along and has hardships in life nowadays, but if you experienced this I dont think youll gonna like it either. I dont think it will make you feel good at all. I dont think youll forget it.

My wife was discriminated in this establishment when she went here today. The queue was long and the lady with the orange hair took the order of the guy behind my partner when she's supposed to be the next in line. It's not that she didn't see my wife because she looked at my wife twice before taking the guy's order. Disappointing that in this day and age, people are still looking down at immigrants with different color of skin than the white folks. Just my 2c.

Staff are always friendly and consistently good coffee. There is good seating, especially if you want to stay longer and read, study, write etc. Lots of power points for charging phones, laptops etc The toasties/toasted sandwiches are really good. I recommend the tomato and mascarpone. Also recommend the lemon drizzle cake and/or scillian lemon muffin.

Gave me wrong coffee, then poured it into a takeaway cup as initially requested. Rude staff dissing customers to each other 'tell her its not take service!' Charged £3.50+ for a 2cm slither of cheesecake with dried up muffin.

Reasonable waiting time for counter service. Pleasant staff, plenty of seating available both inside and out. Good choice of pastries, cakes, snacks. Lovely coffee. The cafe is on ground floor within House of Fraser department store, city centre. Wheelchair access. Lifts to toilets on 2nd floor.

The girl behind the counter wad really nice and helpful, and the one star is for her. The other two guys that I came I to contact with were totally miserable. The one who cleared my table and the other one who wiped it. Not a nice word in fact not a word. Got the feeling I was a nuisance to them. So rude!

Really good coffee and hot chocolates. Staff are pretty friendly but I find some of them a little bit cold when I only pop in for the O2 priority free drink...service seems better when you order more which can be a little annoying but all in all a really nice big place to chill with a coffee.

Treated myself to lunch. Great food and friendly staff.

Consistently inconsistent in their ability to make coffee. I paid for a large cappuccino and in the end also had to pay for an espresso, which I was able to drink. Even though this is a premium product, "you get what you are given and should be thankful for it." I like Nero coffee, but this place needs new management.

It’s a Nero. In a shop - so it does what it says on the tin (so to speak!). You can sit outside if you wish / the weather is kind. As other reviewers have mentioned the toilets are upstairs so beware if mobility is an issue at all.

Burnt coffee and filthy cutlery and crockery accompanied by rude staff behind the counter. Won’t be returning. 2 stars because the service was prompt, the very least I’d expect.

Toilets are on 2nd floor of adjoining retail shop. Not easy to find and can only take one person in lift at any one time. Not good if you can't manage stairs.

Not bad americano. Pork and pancetta sausage roll promised more than it delivered. Still it was warm and a nice place to sit for an hour. BTW, can anyone explain why the name has 2f's and a grave not acute accent?

I asked for a very hot chocolate and was given a warm one 🙄 annoying! Would of complained but long queues and went outside to sit down. IF I go back again , I'll make sure to sip it before I pay.

Cafe Nero has some really great coffee. It also sits right in the centre of Carlisle do you've got ready access to all if the shops. It's attached to House of Fraser for some quick shopping. I'd highly recommend visiting Cafe Nero once it twice but also check out the independent cafes available in Carlisle too.

It would be no stars of I could because they don't pay tax in the UK I've decided never to give them any of my money ever again until they start contributing to the UK revenue.

Caffe Nero make the best coffee by far. The shop is always busy but the staff work quickly to keep things moving.

Absolute shambles of a place, handed over sandwiches and ordered 2 fruit coolers, was handed back a heated up flatbread and pretty much ordered to a table, 10 minutes later still waiting in queue and it was only when someone else asked for a cooler was ours made. Had to ask for the blt sandwich which was handed over to be barked at “what blt” said the 1 I have already paid for then told it was put on the tray I got which I DID NOT get with the first plate! Eventually it was found and thrown at me with NO apology. First visit and last!! Not the only customers complaining today.

Coffee is the weakest I have ever had, barista didn't even tamp the coffee. Tasted like warm milk, couldn't fast the coffee so I asked for an extra shot and it was no better just added a bitter aftertaste, the Crema was non existent just black water. Put some effort into your coffee.

Nice coffee but food range is not that great. There is sometimes not much in the fridge area so you do not have much range but coffee make up for it.
