We visited for a family members birthday last night. I found we didn’t get a warm welcome everything seemed to be a bit rushed with ordering food etc. The starter was good so it looked promising for the main but how wrong was I. I ordered the king prawns with cashew nuts which had absolutely no flavour, the sauce was quite clumpy. Myself and a member of my family didn’t feel well during the night have felt quite sick today also. The duck didn’t come out how we thought it would and didn’t look very appetising at all so I didn’t touch it. Other members of the party who tried it didn’t rate the duck at all. I understand about not wanting to waste food but we felt like we had to eat all of it as the man serving wasn’t very approachable and basically told us if we didn’t eat the majority of it he’d refuse to serve us. The restaurant didn’t seem to have any atmosphere, I visited a few years back and I didn’t get the same experience as I got last night so unfortunately we will not be returning again.

Nice place, make sure you come with a big appetite to get your money worth.

So I've not eaten from here before and the reviews were good but unfortunately my food wasn't cooked properly,my chicken was pink had it delivered and had to get a family member to take me back to get a partial refund for the dishes that wasn't cooked and got no apology won't be eating here again.

I rang to find out about the buffet he said £20 I said I wanted to come on my own he said he wanted to charge me double I said this is wrong and the man shouted at me saying everybody knows this I feel this man has mental health and is greedy I would spend your money here I eve been b4 and the restaurant is rough after being spoken to the way he did I won’t be returning

Ordered food for delivery was told it would be an hour phoned after hour and a half was told it was on the way after 2 and 1/2 cancelled the order as we have a family to feed and ordered elsewhere…. Never got to try the food so can’t comment on its quality, but service terrible!

YUM YUM! Buffet menu on a Friday with no booking. I'd say we got lucky as the food was delicious. My only complaint was they didn't warn me how nice the food would be!!! Aka no complaint what so ever!!!

We were extremely impressed with our experience this evening. Sit down buffet for 3 people. Order your food and its bought to you and then order more when ready, no heat lamps or sloppy serve yourself areas. The young waitor there was brilliant, made our experience great. Food quality was very impressive, quality of meat was great, veggie options were nice and you dont get much food waste due to sensible portion sizes and ordering only what you can eat.

Came here for the last night of our holiday, as we’d been to the beautiful Carlyon Beach. Poor tasting food, expensive for what was served and we have been suffering with stomach problems since (my son was repeatedly sick the following morning). One to absolutely avoid!

First time we have ordered takeaway or even eaten here. Heard great things so thought let's give it a go!! Friendly service on the phone...prompt service and amazing yumming hot food!!! Ordered way too much think we will be eating this for breakfast!!! Thank you

Ordered delivery to Carlyon Bay Campsite. Pre ordered before opening. Opened at 17:00 and delivered by 17:30! Lovely service by delivery lady. Beautiful food, we had sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken, egg fried rice, plain chow mein (which they were kind enough to make with rice noodles), seaweed and prawn toast. Absolutely DELICIOUS. Delivered hot. 100% recommend! Will be ordering again when we visit the area.

Mixed review, was annoyed that because i was on my own, i couldn't eat from the all you can eat, which i find very odd. Rice was very sticky and ribs did not have much meat on them, very fatty. The beef in black bean was the highlight. Because i had to order from the menu, it very expensive, 6 pound for fried rice and beef in black bean is 11.20. Ribs came in at £8 and potion was very small. id suggest going a little bit out and finding better, locals don`t have much good to say about here which i found out in my meeting the day after. What funny is because of this, the day after i took my party of 20 somewhere else, if i was treated the same i would of returned because the food was ok and it was close, not amazing but ok. Service was good in fairness, lady was very polite.

Went for the all you can eat menu, very very good!!! The best Chinese we have had in a long time. Dishes came out super fast, every dish really good and tasty, great service and constantly checking on us and taking orders very quickly. Very impressed and cider for £4.80! Totally worth it and will be going again!!

Been a few times over the month, quick service even when busy, food is good.

The food was poor and that's being polite. Chips were hard like they were reheated, not cooked fresh. Curry sauce was pale, watery, with no real flavour. The chow mein was dry, as was the mixed meat fried rice. The only thing that was nice was the chicken balls, which were lovely. £30 down the drain and It would of been more enjoyable if I'd made my family toast for tea. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

My family of 8 just rolled into town and we wanted something good to eat in a short time. Food came out quickly. Staff was friendly. Budget friendly.

Don't go here on your own if you're on business if you want the buffet as they don't serve single people that menu.

I would have liked to give 5 stars but I can't for anything. We got a delivery (that costs) and the delivery man wouldn't deliver to our home so my poor other half had to drive to get our dinner from the delivery man and then the delivery man had ago because we didn't give him a tip. Now the food. The rice had no taste and it was sloppy the chicken balls we're burnt and couldn't eat them. I'm not a fussy eater but I couldn't eat that at all.

Sadly I had a hard day and decision to treat my self as I read some review which read well the meal I had was the worst Chinese meal I’ve ever been served absolutely awful I’ve. Just moved here to retire

Had a takeaway but arrived later than they had said. Had given directions but they said they couldn't find us. I opened the front door and they were down the road . Food was just warm but edible and very nice

The all you can eat is just lush and very good for filling the empty stomach of the hungry ones the food is very well presented as well and the atmosphere is ok

We found the food second to none, Fresh and nicely cooked and a really good variety of choice. The Service was really good, the food arrived swiftly and the staff were friendly, Would definitely eat there again.

Myself and my partner ate here on Thursday 31st August, in the evening. We had the All you can eat buffet, it was our first time. And it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place.

For us, this wasn’t the experience we had expected from the previous reviews. Being our families first visit, we would of expected better customer service, no one really knew how the buffet worked and this was not really explained by them. The food was very grey, bland and not to a great standard, not what you would expect from reviews. (I do hope they were genuine). Not somewhere we would revisit and certainly not recommend 😞

Food was nice. We had the buffet but had to order extra portions as there were three of us. Drinks were expensive. £7.95 for a glass of Chardonnay. They only did bottles of Pinot. Duck was very nice and crispy

Awful 😖 i had diarrhoea and was sick after. The curry sauce was powdery and had no flavour and both meals were cold. Even the chips were not cooked properly!

Always thought of this as the best in St Austell. After today I've changed my mind! Nasty sweet and sour chicken balls made with tough chicken thigh. The BBQ spare ribs were swimming in a watery tastless sauce. Very disappointed!

Ordered take away. Ready on time. Good choice on menu. Fairly priced. Wonderful meal.

Only the chicken noodle soup and the prawn crisps were good. Tom yam soup was just clear hot water and a couple of prawns. The vegetables were covered with sticky sauce, and it tasted like glue.

I had a mixed meat curry. Hardly any flavour, rice under cooked. Hubby had chicken chow mein and it was very dry with minimal flavour. Quite disappointed.

Very good food and plentiful, best chicken in black bean sauce, I've had in a while and starters were fab. Good price at £22 per person for the buffet which is cooked freshly and served to you. Will definitely go again.

Customer service was disgusting. Don't do the buffet, think their objective was to give you as little good as possible. How to order wasn't explained, and when confronted he was very rude. The owner was very argumentative.

Ate in-house as a walk in for a large group of 14 people. Did not pre-book. The staff were very accommodating, setting up 2 large tables for the group. There is an extensive menu choice and the food was quick to arrive, tasty and enjoyed by all.

Disgusting takeaway thai curry .. Think oily/gravy /chunks of un cooked chicken / mushrooms/ few slices of chilli. customer service slack. Won't be back.

Service is average at the best. No check back to see if my food was OK. I had pork chow mein noodles and cashew chicken. The noodles where quite good but the chicken tasted really funky (from past experiences it's had that taste of a food ready to go off) over all a really average expirience.

The food is excellent - unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Customer Service. You can only order and pay for delivery online by card if your address is very nearby (less than 4 miles) then you have to pay cash on delivery or, go and collect it!! This is not stated on their menu. Who uses cash post Covid? No-one.

We have used East Meets West for many years and wouldn't go anywhere else for Chinese/Thai food in St Austell! The food is always delicious.

Ordered food online at 6pm....food had not been delivered by 8pm...called and was told it would be delivered in 10-15mins....when is had still not arrived by 9pm tried calling again and eventually after 15minutes of trying to get through was told our food hadn't even been cooked! Whilst we appreciate it can be busy this is ridiculous!! Cancelled the order and had to settle for pizza instead 😢 will never use again!

All you can eat is absolutely delicious. My husband loves Chinese food and he really liked everything he tried. I am not fan of this kind of food but it was first time I tried so many dishes and every single one was very tasty. And banana fritters with ice cream was great finish to our lovely evening. Very polite and friendly lady who served us food and thank you to the Chef 🤗🎉

Nice food, terrible delivery, 2 hours late..!

Ordered for delivery, rice was cold, meat was tough and chewy, sweet and sour sauce was just sour and vinegary and the crispy chilli beef was soggy and drenched in that nasty sweet and sour sauce!! You would think clues in the name CRISPY!!.... Chilli beef . Really disappointing!!!

Best all you can eat place I've been as all food prepared fresh and in small portions. Only reason it's not 4 stars is the 1970s decor.

Lovely place to eat in or Take Away. Eat all you want and charged per head. Drinks are charged separately. The Chinese food is very delicious and the staff are so welcoming. Parking is a bit tight.

Apasoultely discusting. Received salt and pepper chicken that had been clearly reheated in plastic tub 3 to 4 times. Special fried rice disgusting. Healthy and safety needs to call to this place ASAP. Has to be the worst chinese I've ever been to.

Food is always really nice, especially their deep fried seaweed and the spicy honey dishes / crispy chilli beef. Only 4 stars cause it lacks a bit in terms of atmosphere.

Stunning take away. Hot and tasty

Felt service was too slow. I was there on a friday evening, the restaurant was hardly half full. I ordered egg fried rice and chicken balls. Which took 45 minutes to come out. I ordered a pint of coke at the same time that never arrived and had to order again the next time a lady came around. I was there for 1.5hours, by the time my first order came out there wasnt any point ordering again another 45minute wait, my taxi would have arrived by then. Definitely left feeling ripped off. It was all you can eat, so was charged £16. For my small amount of food. On a food note... the rice was quite nice,it was fluffy and not too greasy but the chicken had a chewy/rubbery texture. I've been here a few times,service is normally a little on the slow side but it seems to to be getting worse each time we go. Dont think I'll be attended again.
