East Garden Chinese Takeaway in North Tyneside

Found this little takeaway last year handy on my way home working late food nice and cheaper than others.

Great food at a reasonable price. Nice staff dealing politely with customers

We hadn't used this place for a long time. We got a takeaway on Christmas Eve when it was very busy. The food was prepared while we waited for about 30 minutes. What we had was really nice and we will be using them again.

Ordered 9PMwas told 45 min for deliv6 still waiting 1030 called back was told they were busy shocking service I cancelled order bring bak east garden

Food is always amazing from here. Portions are large and fair prices. Highly recommend.

This is by far the nicest, tastiest chinese I have tried in a long, long time. The food was really cheap and reasonable in price. I got plenty for my money as well as free prawn crackers and a free fortune cookie. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The curry sauce was delicious. This is by a mile the nicest chinese takeaway in Wallsend. I would rate this a 5 star and recommend others to try this one.

Have used East Garden for over 20 years. I don't know if they have changed chef and/or owner but Our order last night took 1 hour 15 mins to arrive. On arrival the food was warm and soggy with oil. Definitely not up to the regular standard re food and delivery. Not so sure I'd be happy to use again which is a shame after all these years.

Just had seafood chow mein ,although it was nice there was a seafood stick amongst it with the plastic wrapper still on,bit off putting after speaking to the owner this issue has been resolved.top marks

I cannot say any more about my disappnment in the meal we picked up tonight. I've used this take away for years ,, tonight's was disgusting I can't believe how much this take away has went down £ 25 for the worst meal imaginable,,, I will welcome any feedback from the owners, but have to say to Any one reading this stear clear..

Only chinese i have been to that can mess up curry rice and chips. Curry looked more like gravey, absolutely rotton, avoid like the plague!

I miss this place. Me and my parents would order like clockwork every Friday for years. Food was always good. My folks can't get out like they used to and I'm now abroad.

Never have or received a bad dish and YES...the original prawn crackers are back! Long may it last 😉

Chicken King prawn chow mein is the best I've tasted in years

Gave 1 star as couldn't give 0. Just got a chicken and cashew nut for my daughter and no sooner had she eaten it she's thrown it back up. Luckily she only had 2 pieces of chicken think we'd be at rake Lane if she'd ate more. Give it a miss

We were lucky to win a Munch Box through a competition. Ordered it tonight and it was very nice. Loads of food. Our favourites were the chips, ribs and salt and chilli chicken. It’s the first time We have had food from here and would go back.

Always nice hot food on delivery . Delivery drivers always polite and staff are nice and always accommodating to customer requests and needs if any allergies to foods

We have ordered every Sunday for the last 2 months, recommended by a friend. The food is hot and freshly cooked when we collected. We have enjoyed every meal we have had.

Placed an order for delivery. Didn't get what we ordered. We rang to tell them but we were told that we didn't order what we ordered. They said we had ordered what they had delivered. I think we know what we ordered thank you! Gave them 3:50 tip n'all.

Super fast delivery, even on a friday evening. Food piping hot and all dishes delicious. Never had a bad meal from here.

Chrispy duck full of bones, vermicelli claggy very little meat, king prawn foo young 6 small prawns. Very poor.

Update: 29/05/2020: Another delicious Friday night feast from East Garden. The food was delivered quickly, lovely and fresh and piping hot. They had ran out of the chicken dumplings but I received a phone call from them and all was rectified without any problems. Great level of customer service and great food. Their website to order through is also good as well. Keep up the good work guys! Older Review 01/03/2020: Second meal from East Garden tonight and we really enjoyed it. Fantastic flavour, with lots of nice meat and veg. Also delivered much earlier than expected. Five stars. Older Review 24/12/2019: Delicious and plentiful food delivered earlier than anticipated, being Christmas eve. The only thing I would say is that the quality of the chicken needs to improve. Tasted cheap. But would definitely order again.

Great use of veg and favouring. All under cooked but very tasty.The down fall was the quality of the cuts of chicken. Completely ruined the meal. Quality over quantity!

Really a delicious food, I was searching for a take away and for the first time I ordered and all with nice flavours and the delivery just on time ! Very satisfied customer 😁 And thanks to the chef or anyone who was on charge cooking all the tasty food !

One meal was bland the other only tasted vinegar. Very poor don't know how they're still open.

Quite possibly the worse Chinese takeaway I've ever had. I ordered Cantonese sweet and sour chicken, and whilst the sauce was fine the chicken was pretty much inedible. Overlooked/reheated to the extent I couldn't actually cut through it with a standard knife. Rice tasted okay but was visibly reheated as the rice towards the edge of the container was crispy/dried out. Will never order again.

Was working for a few days in Wallsend. This place gave me something to look forward to every evening. Their 'Salt and Chilli Pepper King Prawn' is fantastic.

This takeaway used to be fairy good but since the recent owners took over the food has been spoilt with their obsession with onions, it seems regardless what you order it is inundated with them. My last, and I mean my last meal from there was salt and chilly ribs and although this as you can imagine us pungent in taste it was once again spoilt by onions. They have been aware of this as many have complained but I can only assume this is their idea of Chinese food. Not been back for a long time.

Great food, extensive menu, and Rich knows how to keep his customers happy!
