Stopped in for some samosas and masala fries…..best samosas I’ve had and lovely friendly service!

Whilst staying at the campsite adjacent to the cafe, we called in after an 8 mile treck. We ordered the lamb samosas 😋 initially I thought they were quite expensive but after seeing the size and tasting the flavours, they we’re definitely value for money 👌Very recommended cafe 👌

The food here is always delicious ! I normally go for the samosas as they are awesome but today I tried the breakfast triple stacker which was even better 👍😎

Amazing Stack of bacon, sausage and egg with chilli jam. Definitely worth paying the £9. It makes a massive difference to the normal McDonald's offering.

What a little gem this place is. Tucked away in East Brighton park the food is awesome. The samosas are the best we have ever had. The aubergine curry is divine. The wonderful crew makes this a very special place. We recomend the curry club on Friday/Saturday afternoons. £15 a real bargain.

This is not the first time, and won’t be the last time we eat at the East Brighton Cafe. Although a little out of the way, the East Brighton Cafe is well worth finding. Traditional food, with amazing flavours. Staff are attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is chilled out and laid back. Definitely a 15/15 place to go!

At last ……. We’re on holiday and found somewhere that easily and happily caters for a vegan. Tasty . Delicious. Nutritious . ✔️ ⭐️BEST SAMOSA I HAVE EVER EATEN⭐️

We popped in on the off chance while visiting the caravan club site 5mins up the road . The smell as you walked in was incredible. Our plan was to have a light bite but after looking at the menu we decided to have a main meal. I had the butter chicken curry which was heavenly so fresh, the chicken was so tender and the taste was delicious. My husband had the chicken burger & masala fries which he said was absolutely delicious. We felt so welcomed that it was like being in their home. The only downside is we live in London and can't go there as often as we would if we lived near by. I can't recommend this lovely little gem highly enough. Was recommended to go here from the campsite to be fair it was good but I personally had a full English breakfast at 10.30am and the bacon was hard as if been on a warmer for a hour and the beans Luke warm at £13 I would have expected better but it is a lovely place overlooking the fields

Fantastic cafe, a total hidden gem in the heart of Easter Brighton Park. A really relaxing place to enjoy authentic Indian food prepared by a warm and professional all-women team. Plenty of vegan options! Ask for the curry specials. I had an aubergine curry which was excellent, easily on par with what you'd get at an expensive restaurant.

Super food - we had the Dirty Chicken Burgers and lovely coffees. Very pleasant while watching our grandson play cricket

Their blueberry pancakes are equally yummy, and I’ve enjoyed trying other items like the potato and pea samosas, the richly flavoured aubergine curry, and a variety of Indian dishes. They have a fantastic selection of cakes that pair perfectly with a cup of tea or coffee. The staff here are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. Over time, they’ve become like friends, especially since I often use the café's quiet room as a workspace. It’s a warm and welcoming place to stop for a chat, and the vibrant, warm-colored décor only adds to the inviting atmosphere. The unique design and thoughtful details, as seen in the attached photos, really make this café a cozy retreat in the heart of the park. Overall, East Brighton Café is a warm, friendly, and delicious spot that I can’t recommend highly enough. Had breakfast here on 26 July 2024 it was great food top notch , Marilyn and Leonardo were great and very friendly. Will definitely return next time we're in Brighton

This isn't a review because we didn't eat here in the end, and here's why: We wanted to have breakfast there, given the excellent reviews, especially for breakfast/brunch. The location is lovely : in the countryside, spitting distance from Brighton, next to a golf course. Parking is simple. The idea of it being operated by South Africans sounded enticing. We arrived at about 10.15 am, parked and walked in. No customers yet. Tables were all free. We waited just inside the door. 3 people were in the kitchen at the back, preparing food. One of the girls looked up from what she was doing and said good morning to us. I greeted her back. She went back to what she was doing. We waited patiently for one of them to stop or pause what they were doing and come out to us. We waited. The three went on with what they were doing, chatting and laughing with each other. We waited. In the end we left and went somewhere else.

Really nice little cafe. Bright and colourful and the girl serving from South Africa was really friendly! We only ordered drinks and some chips to eat outside (17.08.24 about 15:25) and we were served quickly. Chips were brought out to the table for us outside so we didn’t need to wait for them. Will definitely go back - the burgers that the chef was cooking looked DELICIOUS and so did the chicken wings that we saw them taking out!

This cafe has the best samosas I've ever had. Crispy and fresh. Homemade. Perfect. We had a lovely time thanks to the girls running this cafe. They were so friendly and helpful and cook delicious food, everything from full English to samosa and other Asian treats. We could tell they cared about their community and everyone coming in for coffee treats (dogs) before taking a morning walk. Thanks again for a lovely visit!

Amazing everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The staff were all so lovely, and the food was nothing but 12/10. If I could eat at one place forever it would be at this cafe. The bunny chow is a must try, but also everything else on the menu.

Can't recommend this place enough, brilliant coffee, delicious food (samosas and masala fries were seriously good) and the loveliest staff! Will be back again soon!

We wanted some bespoke catering for a small family event. Marilyn was so easy to talk to, quickly understood exactly what we wanted and helped us with suggestions that worked within our budget. Marilyn and her team provided buffet food for an outdoor location in East Brighton park then evening food to take home which fed up to 20 adults and children. We were celebrating a 50th birthday with 3 generations of family and friends and the food from East Brighton Cafe was the star of the show! Brilliant communication throughout and absolutely delicious food of the best quality and standard :)

Lovely cafe opposite a country park, can eat in or out and even on the park benches. Second visit in 3 days, got to try the breakfast naan with red chilli jam, yum yum.

I don't normally do reviews but I understand why this place gets all the amazing attention that it deserves! Everything from the bright colourful decor, natural wood furniture, easy, spacious surroundings with the park on the doorstep, together with the scrumptious mum's traditional recipes, customer service at it's best, accommodating for kids and pet-friendly.... all comes together neatly with the most important ingredient - the food. I sometimes go with my the young boys - they love the Full English but I go for the "kitchen sink"- it takes some beating on a Sunday morning, seriously can't get enough of their bhajis and potato and pea samosas ... and that delicious sauce condiment that they have! The chicken biryani and butter chicken are awesome winners and they even do great dishes with all that wild garlic in springtime! They also do something called the Durban Curry Club which I guess is like a take-out - haven't tried it yet but have got friends who rave endlessly about the traditional South African curries and full portion sizes! Marilyn, the lady who runs it is so lovely (her two young boys hang out there and are really cool and funny too!) and she really goes out of her way to get to know us and make the experience fun every time! Defo big thumbs up👍👍👍

We are staying near the Marina and visited yesterday for breakfast and came back today for lunch such was the quality of the food and friendly good service !!! This place is an unexpected delight ! We thought it was just a cafe !! The position and signage belies the hidden gem !!! You have to go to know !!!! Try it !!!!! 🤩🤩🤩

One of the best cafes I have gone to. staff are great and fun to have a laugh with. The home cooked food is so great made with love. Service is given out with a smile. Very Dog friendly.

Egg,bacon coffee £13.00. east even a proper sandwich, came in a pita bread the kind you get when you buy a kebab. Used to be a good cafe at one time now it way to sad old empty place

Fab food freshly prepared by the friendly family team. Light bites and full breakfast available alongside an excellent Durban curry menu and South African cakes. Their Curry Club nights are very good value and always delicious, with meat and veggie options to suit your palate. Sample dishes are often available from the fridge and sometimes freshly frozen. Great coffee too and all readily available with indoor and outdoor seating in dog friendly East Brighton Park.

Wow what an amazing cafe ! We popped in for a coffee and the atmosphere/ ambiance was lovely, the ladies who are running it now as so friendly and polite, the coffees were the best we have had anywhere and the smell of the food was amazing!! Absolute gem of a place, in lovely surroundings. Delicious coffee (non dairy milk options), good vegan options, delicious samosas, avocado naan, coconut balls and aubergine curry! Good vegan options. Fab food, will definitely be back when in Brighton. Well worth a visit, can't recommend highly enough and the staff are lovely!

I visited the East Brighton Cafe for the first time today. The food is very lovely and very tasty. The service is outstanding. Wonderful people and very lovely lady who seems to be running it. I will definitely be going back for the amazing food / service and to see the beautiful smile of the lady who made it for me. 10 star 🌟 review. 15 years I've been a chef 8 of them as a head chef. The food in here is absolutely mind-blowing, and everything is made in-house. You have to try their samosas. They are stunning

Popped in as recommended by our foodie friends. Thought we'd have something light for lunch but ended up eating the best samosas ever and fab special curry's. The red roaster coffee was delicious too. Marilyn is so funny, warm and welcoming and is rightly proud of her food. Totally fab 20/6 Having been back I would advise checking first they have specials on if you want a curry.

This is the friendliest cafe I have been to. The welcome is genuine and the owner makes an effort to be part of the local community. The food is home made and excellent. This is a place I will make the effort to come to.

Freindly cafe run by local people. They do good special food nights as well which whilst not cheap, are excellent value. The owners are totally lovey. Dogs are welcome. A nice place to go for a chat over breakfast or coffee in the awesome east brighton park.

Absolutely amazing and warm hosts. Lovely food too. Probably the best filled samosas and onion bhajis which were not oily at all. Coffee was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend this place and would come again. Beautiful location in the park. Parking at the doorstep

Absolutely love this place, incredible food, I can really recommend the turmeric latte and vegan breakfast!

Popped in for a coffee after a dog walk, but after being told what was on the menu we decided to switch our lunch and dinner around and returned for 1pm. Great coffee too. The meal was as delicious as we hoped. We had two different samosas to start (rather large so brought remainder back with us. The butter chicken curry and the aubergine curry were served with rice, a poppadom and flat bread. All amazing. A nice little gem to find on the edge of the park.

Fantastic Full English breakfast, and waffles (kids rated them best ever!), lovely staff, peaceful music and colourful cafe, v happy with our visit. Will definitely be back 😄

This is an amazing gem of a cafe. We popped in to grab some samosas and ended up staying for the curry specials. Absolutely delicious. Hands down one of the best curries I’ve eaten, If not THE best. Staff were really friendly and the lovely owner told us how the recipes are much loved family recipes passed to her by her mum. Highly recommend a visit here. You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely fab. Food that went way beyond expectations! Who’s had bacon & egg with naan for breakfast before.? Not me - but I wasn’t disappointed..far from it.! That was SO good, we ordered a take out dinner for the evening then & there. Butter chicken, rice, partha spring rolls & samosas...OMG. Amazing.!! The owner is a real gem of a lady; happy to go out of her way to help us. All I can say is ignore the tired look of the place - dive in & ENJOY.!! You won’t be disappointed.

We found this cafe whilst camping at the CAMC in Brighton - we had some breakfast cobs (say yes to the chilli jam it’s well worth it) Avo, mushroom & egg bap was to die for. The ladies packed up 2 butter chicken curries with the works for dinner after our 4 hour drive home - it was gorgeous! Give this hidden gem a try its truly worth it xxx

Great little parkside cafe, tasty breakfast, super friendly folk

£3.50 for a measly portion of chips, accompanied by attitude with a very reasonable request. They do a curry night which very much interested me, they have lost a local customer.

The cafe is an absolute gem. Be it a coffee and breakfast after walking our dog or their superb curries I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Marilyn and the team…keep up the smiles, welcomes and wonderful food.

The curries are like being on holiday, a South African next to me said just like our Durban curry from home! Well spiced, well priced! Lovely staff, quirky venue, my dog's new favourite place :-)The breakfasts are addictive and the Kitchen Sink version is like Charles meets Ghandi on one plate! Intrigued, go try ;-)

Set in the most spacious, manicured park this wonderful cafe is worth visiting. Amazing views across the park, delicious food, I had vegetable samosas and onion bhajis my pal had a sausage and bacon burger. The cappuccino was served hot and tasted good too. The cafe also has a quiet room if needed. Dine in or take out, the staff are talented, worldly and kind. Plenty of outdoor seating and parking. Good vibes and unique.

Don't bother. Went in with family not so much as a hello or smile. Stood by a dirty table for 10mins waiting for at least a "I'll be over in a minute and clear this for you so you can sit down" but nothing. Went to stand by the till twice and still didn't get spoken to once and saw they wanted to charge £12 for a breakfast. Ended up walking out so can't comment on how good the food is.

Fabulous birthday lunch for our daughters 3rd birthday. Highly recommend the kitchen sink breakfast and the samosas and masala fries what a hit all round. Big thanks to Marilyn and the team. Keep up the amazing work.

Really good Durban lamb curry,the best outside of Durban!! And great starters and strawberry and chilli Eton mess which was a great end to the meal. Lovely freindly staff and great atmosphere with a view over the park.

Found this ace cafe whilst dog-sitting for a long weekend. Experienced the excellent pea & potato samosas on the Sunday and just had to return on the Monday for more, plus a take-away of butter chicken curry and all the extra bits to enjoy after our journey back home to Kent :-) We will certainly visit again when we are back on dog-sitting duties! East Brighton Cafe's food is delicious!! My partner and I had an bacon sarnie and an egg avo, mushroom naan for breakfast then came back for tea. It wasn't a supper club evening, so we had take away instead. We collected at 5pm and the food was freshly cooked and we ate on the picnic benches outside and watched the cricket. We had an aubergine curry and a butter chicken curry that came with poppadom and naan (thin fried and delicious). The menu changes from week to week. Also had veggie samosa and onion bhaji, which were probably the best I've ever eaten. We really enjoyed all the food and the cafe has a lovely vibe with friendly helpful staff. I cannot wait to go back, take my mates and eat it all again!

Excellent cafe - lovely British and South Asian food and snacks; hot & cold & alcoholic drinks; friendly staff and a great place for families. Large field space and walks too. Highly recommended.

The food is excellent and there is a friendly relaxed atmosphere.. The only downside is closing at 4pm, especially in the summer and it means the toilets close at the same time!

We arrived as a 14 person stag do. Marilyn and her team did an amazing job in accommodating us all and made us some delicious food! The service was prompt and friendly. A great little cafe.

A hidden gem at the back of East Brighton Park. Parking out front for those who need transport but some great walks in either the park or on SheepCote Valley and beyond too. Indian inspired food and a weekend curry club as well as excellent coffee - whats not to like?
