Best veggie samosas we’ve ever had! Really friendly & accommodating staff. The food was incredible, very tasty! So happy we found this little gem! Will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely fab. Food that went way beyond expectations! Who’s had bacon & egg with naan for breakfast before.? Not me - but I wasn’t disappointed..far from it.! That was SO good, we ordered a take out dinner for the evening then & there. Butter chicken, rice, partha spring rolls & samosas...OMG. Amazing.!! The owner is a real gem of a lady; happy to go out of her way to help us. All I can say is ignore the tired look of the place - dive in & ENJOY.!! You won’t be disappointed.

We found this cafe whilst camping at the CAMC in Brighton - we had some breakfast cobs (say yes to the chilli jam it’s well worth it) Avo, mushroom & egg bap was to die for. The ladies packed up 2 butter chicken curries with the works for dinner after our 4 hour drive home - it was gorgeous! Give this hidden gem a try its truly worth it xxx

Great little parkside cafe, tasty breakfast, super friendly folk

£3.50 for a measly portion of chips, accompanied by attitude with a very reasonable request. They do a curry night which very much interested me, they have lost a local customer.

The cafe is an absolute gem. Be it a coffee and breakfast after walking our dog or their superb curries I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Marilyn and the team…keep up the smiles, welcomes and wonderful food.

The curries are like being on holiday, a South African next to me said just like our Durban curry from home! Well spiced, well priced! Lovely staff, quirky venue, my dog's new favourite place :-)The breakfasts are addictive and the Kitchen Sink version is like Charles meets Ghandi on one plate! Intrigued, go try ;-)

My daughter had eaten here previously and said the food was good. We met for lunch. 😋 yum 😋. They also offered chicken tikka which I took home to eat later. Oh, I wish I could get those flavours. Absolutely delicious.

Set in the most spacious, manicured park this wonderful cafe is worth visiting. Amazing views across the park, delicious food, I had vegetable samosas and onion bhajis my pal had a sausage and bacon burger. The cappuccino was served hot and tasted good too. The cafe also has a quiet room if needed. Dine in or take out, the staff are talented, worldly and kind. Plenty of outdoor seating and parking. Good vibes and unique.

Don't bother. Went in with family not so much as a hello or smile. Stood by a dirty table for 10mins waiting for at least a "I'll be over in a minute and clear this for you so you can sit down" but nothing. Went to stand by the till twice and still didn't get spoken to once and saw they wanted to charge £12 for a breakfast. Ended up walking out so can't comment on how good the food is.

Fabulous birthday lunch for our daughters 3rd birthday. Highly recommend the kitchen sink breakfast and the samosas and masala fries what a hit all round. Big thanks to Marilyn and the team. Keep up the amazing work.

Fantastic service ...I had the mackerel samosas with masala fries ....omg.... the best I have ever had ...highly recommended, give this place a try, excellent peaceful setting with a very lovely team working there, the menu is very extensive with South African and Indian influences...I shall certainly be going there again

Really good Durban lamb curry,the best outside of Durban!! And great starters and strawberry and chilli Eton mess which was a great end to the meal. Lovely freindly staff and great atmosphere with a view over the park.

Found this ace cafe whilst dog-sitting for a long weekend. Experienced the excellent pea & potato samosas on the Sunday and just had to return on the Monday for more, plus a take-away of butter chicken curry and all the extra bits to enjoy after our journey back home to Kent :-) We will certainly visit again when we are back on dog-sitting duties! East Brighton Cafe's food is delicious!! My partner and I had an bacon sarnie and an egg avo, mushroom naan for breakfast then came back for tea. It wasn't a supper club evening, so we had take away instead. We collected at 5pm and the food was freshly cooked and we ate on the picnic benches outside and watched the cricket. We had an aubergine curry and a butter chicken curry that came with poppadom and naan (thin fried and delicious). The menu changes from week to week. Also had veggie samosa and onion bhaji, which were probably the best I've ever eaten. We really enjoyed all the food and the cafe has a lovely vibe with friendly helpful staff. I cannot wait to go back, take my mates and eat it all again!

The food is excellent and there is a friendly relaxed atmosphere.. The only downside is closing at 4pm, especially in the summer and it means the toilets close at the same time!

Excellent cafe - lovely British and South Asian food and snacks; hot & cold & alcoholic drinks; friendly staff and a great place for families. Large field space and walks too. Highly recommended.

We arrived as a 14 person stag do. Marilyn and her team did an amazing job in accommodating us all and made us some delicious food! The service was prompt and friendly. A great little cafe.

A hidden gem at the back of East Brighton Park. Parking out front for those who need transport but some great walks in either the park or on SheepCote Valley and beyond too. Indian inspired food and a weekend curry club as well as excellent coffee - whats not to like?

Another wonderful lunch at the great East Brighton Cafe. Lovely veggie curry with rice, poppadom and paratha. Always a friendly welcome and great vibe. We're fast becoming regulars!

We found that cafe on a Sunday afternoon. It is truly a hidden gem. Everything we ordered tastes so good. 10/10 for Maralyn and Oscar. Amazing taste and quality of food.Made from heart. Kids loved it, too. We will definitely visit again.

Delicious food served here,Aubergine curry was absolutely amazing, great home made samosas too,they also do full English breakfast and vegan breakfast so could feed us all with our dietary requirements 😋, will definitely be going back. Friendly service and told me the ingredients so I can eat without the worry of food intolerances. Great place to walk the dog right outside the door as well.

Again what a lovely lunch, the milk chicken burger with the divine dirty sauce of their own was crazy good! Fab place for dogs to walk too, and dog friendly inside . A top class toastie, was super enjoyed also! Highly recommend indeed . !

An unexpected gem! The service is always incredibly friendly, the setting is perfect, and the food and drinks are very reasonably priced as well as delicious. We are slowly working our way through the menu and look forward to trying out the curry club soon! Very family friendly too

Brilliant food and chicken burger

A delicious brunch reunion with family and dear friend (plus patient dog Finn). We tried several variations from the menu and they were all equally delicious. Proper breakfast tea ( a treat) and good coffee. A lovely relaxed, personal and unhurried experience in a laid back venue which really deserves to be called a hidden gem - almost hate to share the secret!

Delicious, tasty proper home cooked food! The parathas are so good. Lovely friendly place to eat in or take away. Marilyn and her team make you feel so welcome. This is a bit of a hidden gem and something for everyone including breakfasts and fries, ice creams etc. A must for anyone in east Brighton area.

Catered for my coeliac wife who needed gluten free food , they were happy to talk through the menu and what she could have. Happily she was able to get a full breakfast. Rather than bought in a lot of the food was homemade, therefore much tastier and full of flavour. Great coffee and we were also allowed to bring our dog inside. Well done to the team here

LOVELY coffee and really nice food. At this point so far, I’ve returned twice a week even just for a coffee. Nice and peaceful location too. Really want to try more of the food. So far we’ve only had the sausage and bacon bap with home made chilli jam- DELICIOUS! I am only giving 4 stars because the cafe isn’t wheelchair/pram accessible :(

Wow what an unbelievable gem nestled in the glorious East Brighton park. The food is absolutely delicious. I having tried the entire menu at this point so can't single out one particular item, as all are perfectly cooked, with the most wonderful ingredients. I would say make sure you grab a bag of samosas to take home, they are hands down the best I have ever had.

Amazing cafe with beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces to sit. The food is very special -- some incredibly delicious Durban treats (the bhaji and avocado naan invention especially spectacular). Great coffee and everyone who works there is lovely. Ideal spot before or after a Whitehawk match!

Went to East Brighton Park for a dog walk then swang into the cafe for a bit to eat and a coffee. Had a wonderful cappuccino, an awesome slice of home made cheesecake and then some absolutely fantastic samosas! Will definitely return.

Love this place. There are only a few places that I revisit more than once. Not only am I extremely fussy about my coffee, I am an also an opinionated cook and I often wonder what the point in eating out is when I can cook better at home. This place ticks all the boxes for me. What I love about East Brighton Cafe is the creativity of the owner. Today we had - Kitchen Sink - a wonderfully indulgent breakfast where East meets West on a plate. Also to love here are the Bhaji Naans and I'm desperate to try the Wild Garlic Bhajis. We will be back!

A lovely snack of Samosas, Spring Rolls and a treat of Masala Fries which all tasted amazing! A wonderful small team of people that care and food that is cooked with skill and love. Going to try the Curry night very soon!

What a lovely gem of a place!! We had brunch here and it was filling enough to tide me over till 7pm. A very generous portion of smashed avocado and poached eggs on toast for me, sausage and bacon bap for my partner. They also make the best tea in Brighton❤️ Lovely staff, lovely place. Dog friendly and easy to park nearby. Will definitely be going back!!

The service and atmosphere was fine. I'm giving this cafe a 2 star review based on the pricing. £6 for a bacon roll consisting of a brioche bun and 2 slices of bacon that looked like they'd been cooked in a dirty frying pan is not on. I get that it takes two to tango, I could have refused at the point of sale but part of me was intrigued to see what a £6 bacon roll looked like - it looks like a £1.50 bacon roll.

Called in during a dog walk intending to only get a drink, which as soon as we saw the menu turned into snacks of Samosas and Masala fries. Absolutely delicious, we will be back soon for the Durban Curry Club evening. They do takeaway to which is great too. What a fantastic find, the owner and staff are lovely, and it’s very dog friendly too.

Absolutely delicious curry and samosas, and always a warm welcome.

What a lovely place to eat and socialise. Took my chihuahuas for breakfast the two mornings we stayed at the local camp site and they were welcomed with the same warm reception as we were. Plenty of fresh water and treats for them too. The cafe is set within a lovely picnic area with a place for the dogs to play. We grew fond of all the staff particularly the young man who made sure we were looked after like one of his friends. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever tasted and the quality of the food was second to none and the cup of tea was a proper cuppa. The facilities in the cafe were fantastic and very thoughtful, with a separate quiet room, bathroom with baby changing area and a large seating area to eat, gave a lovely open and friendly feel. We were even greeted by the locals. Highly Recommended to everyone.

This place is amazing. It is warm and friendly, serves an amazing cup of coffee and the food is absolutely superb - we had samosas, masala fries and a lamb curry between three of us. It wasn't cheap, but it was really tasty and worth every penny. Authentic South African Indian food in a Brighton park - who knew?

Marilyn and the team run a brilliant cafe and the Durban curry 3 course set menu on a Saturday night is incredible. Just had a coffee in the Sunday winter sunshine - heaven.

I had the pleasure to eat at Marilyn's cafe and I can't recommend it enough! Super friendly staff and location is brilliant, especially if you have little people that can run safe and free in the park grounds while you enjoy a lovely organic coffee/hot drink indoors :) We had homecooked curries and samosas which are the cafe specialities! We definitely will come back again very soon!

We had brunch at the Cafe last week Great meaty and Veggie breakfasts, simple but cosy surroundings and such friendly, welcoming people - the youngest member of the party fell madly in love with the chicken burger and fries, and declared them the best ever! Indeed, he liked them so much we had to come back for lunch the following day, when I got to try one of the chef's speciality curries! So full of flavour and so delicious - and her breads and samosas are the lightest I've ever tasted. We will be back next time we are in Brighton. Highly recommended!

Lovely little cafe, friendly staff, good food. A short walk from the Brighton Caravan and Motorhome Club site, made a very tasty full english breakfast.

We ordered samosas, bhajis, spring rolls and gulabjam to take away for our party. They were perfect - substantial and full of punchy flavours, and much enjoyed! The gulabjam are sumptuous! Thank you!

We use the café most weeks after parkrun. The service is always friendly and with a smile. The coffee is excellent, freshly made, and the samosas are even better! Marilyn and other servers make everyone welcome. Try it for yourself.

Marilyn catered for my husband’s 50th at our house (50 guests) and it was all utterly fantastic - the food was such a hit, completely delicious - the whole process was stress free, we had so many compliments - couldn’t have been happier and won’t hesitate to do again - totally brilliant.
