Very very busy Sunday lunch service. Roast beef and all the trimmings, nice wobbly panacotta with ice cream. So tasty, one of the best Sunday lunch meals we’ve had in a long time. The staff are great friendly and helpful. The chefs who cooked our food produced quality food. Well done.

Another wonderful lunch = this was the first proper meal we have had since going down with that lurgey that is doing the rounds. We've been off food and not really been able to taste or eat much till now. So it was really eally nice to get out and have a Sunday lunch our only regret was that we couldnt eat it all (left over side effect from the lurgery). So fabulous fabulous food well presented by great great staff - thank you.

It's situation in a village in Suffolk countryside. The atmosphere was very pleasant and food was fantastic. The menu only had a small selection of meals and dessert, starters but that was fine me, as quality of food was superb. I ate Halloumi Burger and Chocolate Brownie for desert 👍

Hugely disappointed. We arrived after booking on the day, waited 20 mins before the food booking was placed. We then sat and waited & waited & waited. After 50 mins we asked where our food was, there had been no staff interaction before then, We were told our food was just being plated up, another 10 mins went by we asked another member of staff who asked the kitchen when I food would be cooked ! At this point we decided to leave. We had established the kitchen had over extended itself by cooking for a buffet !, they should never have taken our booking in the first place. Customer service was poor in terms of communication, we could also over hear staff discussing customers who had also complained, not very professional. I would not return.

I really like the Duke's Head for both having a cold beer on a summers day/evening or sitting down for dinner. Each time we have been there, the staff have always looked after us well and the food on the most part has been fantastic. Will definitely return and also recommend it.

Reasonable menu..but the butcher hadn’t been so NO meat options available. Nice staff, but not very organised so it took 15 mins to order, despite being 3rd in the queue. Ordered starter and mains…which came at the same time. As we were sat outside, you needed your take cutlery etc with you…but were not reminded when ordering so a number of tables had to come back for that.

Food was great quality and albeit on the higher end price wise ...it was worth it! Nice atmosphere. Staff when they came to the table were friendly but I had to go to the bar twice to get their attention.

The meal at the Dukes Head, Somerleyton was one of the most disappointing and overpriced meals we have ever had. The alarm bells rang as soon as the Crab starter arrived. It was crabmeat and mayonnaise on a piece of toast 15cm x 4cm with a sliced radish garnish, this cost a staggering £9! As if this was not enough the main course of gammon was equally pathetic. A small gammon steak topped with diced pineapple? This cost £19. See pics. I also asked for some English mustard which appeared to be about a teaspoonful. Drinks were extortionate too at £15 for a pint and a large white wine After reading the reviews there were no recent ones about the Dukes Head I wonder why??

We moored our boat at Somerleyton to visit the Duke’s Head for Sunday lunch as a family of 5. Four of us had a roast dinner (2 chicken, a beef and a pork belly) and one a burger, and we all agreed it was the best Sunday lunch in memory! The chicken was a generous portion and succulent (see picture) the beef fell apart on eating and the pork belly had plentiful meat with a beautiful, blisteringly crispy skin. All the trimmings (which were many) were cooked just right too, with as the meal’s crown a fabulously oversized yorkshire pudding. Service was a bit slow but it was friendly and accommodating so that didn’t spoil the mood. We will definitely be back!

We had planned to visit the Duke's Head by taking our boat to Somerleyton Staithe. Weather foiled that plan but we took a train from Brundall to Somerleyton. It was well worth the effort. The food, service, decor and ambience were all top notch. It was a little quiet when we arrived at 4pm (Wednesday afternoon) but we were well looked after from the outset to the end of our meal. By the time we were eating dinner a little after 6pm there were plenty of others dining giving the restaurant a nice buzz. We hadn't eaten much so we had nibbles (Halloumi Chips and Figs - sorry no pic but these were great), starters (Crab and Parma Ham) and mains (Duck and Chicken Supreme). We would have had dessert but had to get the train back and were short of time. All the food was well prepared, looked great and tasted wonderful. Really very good combinations of textures and flavours. We would have gone back for lunch the next day but again travel arrangements interfered. If you like high quality food this is a place to go - you will not be disappointed.

We enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the Dukes Head so much we altered our itinerary so we could call in again. The staff were all friendly and professional and the chef is a food alchemist. We all had different meals and we all had food envy and all of us were delighted with our choices. As a none meat eater it was great to see something better than the usual bland offerings. The veggie burger was by far the best one I've eaten since I gave up eating meat 8 years ago. I highly recommend the Dukes Head.

Really great welcome and really dog friendly, made more of a fuss of the dogs than they did if us (in a good way). Really nice food and a friendly local atmosphere.

We booked a table for evening meal after having driven past earlier in the day. On arrival we were greeted and shown our reserved table. The menu was on a blackboard. It didn't excite my wife nor me. It appeared more like an Asian menu with nothing that we fancied. Whatever happened to steaks, pies or chicken. Very disappointed, we left without ordering but were offered scampi and chips which we declined.

Considering our order was very large. Everything was still hot and cooked well. nothing was missing. delivery took a little longer than originally stated but we were kept fully updated with times. delivery driver was pleasant too. We will definitely order from this Harvester again.
