The Food is not worth the price. We ordered the honey glazed chicken sandwich, the rib sandwich and the chicken burger. The chicken burger was burnt to a crisp and had to be sent back, the rib meat was fatty and the bread burned. At almost £13 each they were absolutely not worth the money, a small portion of meat on a basic roll, badly cooked and presented and only realistically worth of half the price. Meal deal food at medium dining prices. Feel ripped off and wouldn’t go back again. A bad experience taking my son out for food who is at Liverpool uni and we don’t get to meet up often.

I don’t really like writing reviews, and I have always liked going to the Duke Street Market, but I did not have a good experience. I celebrated my birthday there with a few friends and ordered from the specials menu on that day, and the food I was served tasted exactly how it looked. It was probably the worst thing I have ever eaten and I barely ate any of it. Then thinking, surely a dessert could fix this, but not, the sticky toffee I was served tasted burnt and was not enjoyable at all.

I like these market hall type food places. This one is a bit like the one up at the old Caines Brewery, but better, as you don’t have to queue up to get your food! The concept is straightforward, seven small kitchens have gathered, like animals seeking warmth at the fireside, to share a common dining hall and pool their overheads. This is an excellent idea and, here, they’ve gone one better in that you can order from all of the different kitchens at once, in a single order, via the QR code on your table. No more trying to coordinate your orders so as not to lose your table, no more angst if you fancy chips and somebody else wants a pizza. Here, all can sup from the keg of their choice and all can order together. The dining hall itself is deceptively large, with a downstairs and a mezzanine. Beware the downstairs as it does have those bench tables that you might have to share with someone else. Smaller tables, benches and perching points exist also. The aesthetic is retro-industrial, with lots of exposed wood and metal. The choice of food is excellent, almost overwhelmingly so – the indecisive will be paralysed with choice. There is Mexican, pizza, meat, Asian etc. And remember, you can have it all and that’s ok. For myself, I began with hoisin duck bao buns from Barnacle – these were juicy and full of flavour. The richness of the sauce was beyond pleasing. I would eat these again. Following that, I opted for the Birria Quesadilla, for Birria must be ordered wherever it occurs, and a side of the pulled lamb shawarma loaded chips from Barnacle. The quesadilla was perfect – beautifully flavoured and rich. The Birria itself was bursting with meaty flavour. I always want more Birria but I fear too much of a good thing. The loaded chips were, well, loaded – piles of pulled lamb upon fat and tasty hot chips. This meal was a definite hit. There was, alas, no room for pudding. The beer selection was limited, but there was a house lager – this came quickly and was as it should be, cold and refreshing. Drinks ae ordered in the same way as food, via the QR code on the table. Overall, a very positive experience and a place I would recommend – visit here if you love good food. Particularly good if you have an indecisive group who can’t decide what to eat or are out with the sort of people that only want to pay the exact cost of their own food, down to the last penny (for they can just order separately…). A point to note – this place doesn’t open on Mondays. I know it says this online, but it still surprised me – it’s such a big endeavour that I overlooked that these are small businesses, they’re just cohabiting under one roof, so they do need time off.

Lovely food here. Came for lunch and it arrived like restaurant standard street food. Dog friendly. WHICH I LOVE!!! The staff was lovely and I personally found the Japanese food place there amazing. So much choice here and it's really relaxed. TIP. Pick what you want before you get there because there is so much choice that you'll end up sitting there forever looking at other peoples food trying to figure out what they ordered.

The place is very popular so be prepared to wait, but the queue moves fast and the staff also did their best to serve with friendly smiles and affable attitude. The food and beers were all good and reasonably priced, which was probably why the place was buzzing the whole time. The orders were placed via QR code at the table.

I had such a pleasant experience here at Duke Street Market. Me and my friend visited on a weekday, just yesterday, actually. With it being a weekday it wasn’t overly jam packed full of people. We sat towards the back end of the food hall in a booth, usually utilised for large groups, (thankfully no one was sat there). First thing that hit me was the general size of the place. IT’S MASSIVE! Again, with us sat at the back, it really gave us a scope of the market and how truly open it is. Speaking of, i loved the vibe this place permeated. The sound of everyone conversing with one another, each of the stall traders cooking the food, the beautiful mix of aromas. As for the decor, it’s very much like Mackie Mayor, another food market. But with its own unique and distinctive identity. I ordered the Salmon Bibimbap from the GINGER food stall, were as my friend ordered the vegan and gluten free nachos from Big Lola’s Taqueria. About 10-15 minutes or so later, they both arrived! My Salmon Bibimbap was presented in a rather lovely circular bowl, much like my friends, and we just couldn’t wait to tuck in. The salmon was cooked perfectly, with it falling apart with ease, the sticky rice was soft and smooth, the bok choy with the sweet chilli sauce was delicious, the side of spinach added a slight pepperiness, the sliced carrots were nice and crunchy, bean sprouts were much like the carrots, and the spring onions was the cherry on top of it all. Overall, i really enjoyed the food that i was served. Everything complemented each other so brilliantly and it just worked, really, really tasty. My friend loved theirs as well. Service was ok, not the best i’ve had to be perfectly honest, but i suppose they did their job. Price wise it wasn’t cheap. £35.65 to be exact. But i quite honestly don’t mind paying that. after all, it was salmon that i had, and good quality i imagine. Overall, would i recommend you’d come here? Oh yes i would! For what an experience that me and my friend had here, you must come here and even try something else.

Looked at reviews before I went thought I had to try it queued for a few minutes as it was a Saturday afternoon the young girl on the door was very helpful showed me and my husband to the table explained how to order from the table or just go up to the end to order which is what I did, our food was coming from the same stand ,our drinks came quickly , then my meal came I waited for my husband’s to appear but it didn't I asked if it was coming soon but was told it would be 20 mins and he said when I ordered I was told orders don’t come together which I hadn’t ,I finished my food before my husband got his and would not have came here if we knew we would be eating separately Food was really good though

The food is great but the noise (mostly from the ventilation of the kitchens) is overwhelming. It is worse upstairs and unavoidable in the space. On top of it, there is music playing. As a result, people are shouting which only adds to the noise. If you struggle with sensory overload, avoid.

Loved this place so much we came back for a second visit the next day. Picar was easily my favourite trader, everything we had was delicious and excellent value for money, the tortilla was one of the best I've had. Really impressed with the great wines available from the bar too, the slightly chilled beaujolais was phenomenal. An award winning food market located in the heart of Liverpool serving up something to feed everyone's appetite. With eight kitchens in an upmarket setting without the price tag, this place was definitely my vibe. The staff for each vendor were warming and welcoming and the ease of ordering on the app with table service was impressive. The crispy chilli squid from Ginger was light, super crunchy and not greasy at all. It was served with a mild chilli mayo that was so good I could have licked the bowl clean! From Barbina Pasta Amore, I had the cheese and broccoli pasta which was smooth as silk but needed a little salty kick to really bring it home as a great dish. And from Cahita, the Cahita cubano was probably the best I've ever had! With grilled pork shoulder, pork belly and roast ham, it was the house made mojo mayo and sweet mustard that absolutely sets it apart as a top tier sandwich! And being able to ask for fresh chilli in the note section was an added bonus at no extra cost. Easy to get too, nothing fancy but definitely felt all class, this is a food market win!

Very cool place with postindustrial vibe. Kind and efficient service. However I was underwhelmed by the food. £15.5 for a miserable, thin lamb shoarma is a really steep price. I’m not sure if it was even 200g in one portion, luckily I ordered chunky chips, so that filled me up. I may give it another go soon but so far it felt a bit overpriced.

Weird vibe, no customer service because you just order on your phone and get it delivered to your table. Doesn't help when your food isn't cooked properly because you don't know who to talk to. I had to send my food back because it wasn't fully cooked, but then it took ages for my new portion and nobody came to check if everything was OK. Guess it's good if you don't want to be looked after by someone. I'm obviously just a bit old school and want someone to be there to help when you need it.

No phone. No point. Work night out, but I should have realised something was amiss when I arrived. Unless you have your phone on you and use apps, don't bother! You had to scan a code to get a menu and pay by phone! Some of my colleagues were equally unimpressed, particularly by the overpriced beer and small portions of food. Do you not realise that not taking cash, not having a printable menu, and relying on apps you are isolating a huge proportion of potential customers? Needless to say, some of us stayed long enough to be polite to fellow work colleagues before my cash was spent elsewhere in a proper establishment that provided a more welcoming, less sterile atmosphere.

Overpriced and tiny portions..beef brisket sandwich £13.50 on tiny hot dog roll , don't get me wrong the brisket ws delicious! The portion size was joke. Childs tomato pasta £7. It's pasta? Left starving

Cahita is brilliant! The OG cubano sandwich is delicious, fantastic flavours. Superb chicken strips too. Super crispy and well seasoned. Although the gravy wasn't to my liking. My Dad said the ribs were some of the best he's had and that's a very strong endorsement! The place has a good drinks selection and friendly staff.

Great selection of food but by no means cheap. Multiple items soon add up. Drinks very expensive. Beer served in 2/3 pint glasses which cost more than a pint in nearby pubs.

Food nothing special. I had katsu chicken, the rice left a strange film in my mouth? We were taken upstairs which was noisy and packed atmosphere. Ordering is by app, then food is brought by an unenthusiastic waiter. All 3 of our meals brought separately. It's not for me I'm afraid. No comparison with Macclesfield and Altrincham food halls.

Came here with three friends. I have been to places like this before and they are not what I would usually choose, I prefer restaurants. In saying that the food was of a good standard, we all enjoyed our choices and there is a lot of choice between the various vendors. You could come here often and not run out of options. Service was fast. I am not a fan of QR codes unfortunately but I understand why it works best for this type of venue.

When I'm in Liverpool I always visit Duke Street Food market, more precisely the Cahita restaurant. I've been a huge fan of their food since the Finca times. Their Cubano sandwich and the doughnuts are a must, but all of their dishes are delicious and well presented. Highly recommend them!

Many outstanding market style restaurants in one place. All top quality and came in only a few minutes. Absolutely worth a visit. Potentially a queue outside to get a table.

highly recommnend this place!!! friendly staff that helped us the moment we entered, the place is so clean and you have a lot of options to choose! We tried ramen, it’s not really authentic Japanese but it’s decent to eat, the tacos are a bit salty for me but the churros is amazing 🤤 besides that you have other 5 restaurants to choose from so i think there’s always something for you

I don’t make reviews often but felt I needed to make one here. What an utterly bizarre place, bouncer on the door, airport lounge atmosphere and takeaway food quality at restaurant prices. What’s not to like? Our side came first, then 15 mins later our main. No table service, sauces, salt, pepper. Never been to a restaurant like it. Could not recommend any less.

This is a very cosy little bar on Castle street. I believe it used to be a pharmacy for many years and they took over the name with little links in the display window to its previous history. It's mainly cocktails and wine with a small selection of beers. There's comfortable seating inside and outside seating for when the weather's a bit better.

My twin brother and I were pub hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop into The Hatch, been here before, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I like the look of this bar, interior is superb, exposed brickwork, eclectic decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Slater Street. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, we got a beer each from Carling Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and as it was happy hour only £2.50p a pint, great value for money indeed in Liverpool City Centre, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. My beer was really good, it's a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this bar, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a cold beer sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Hatch we had a great time. The Hatch is easy to locate along Slater Street, a street famous for its great pubs and bar. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 3pm till 2am. Friday to Sunday, midday till 4am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
