The Katsu Curry from Ginger was lovely, I’d rate it 8/10, just because the chicken was a little too crispy. Other than that the food was hot and full of flavour, and we didn’t wait too long even though it was a busy Saturday afternoon!

I love this place very much and today I came with a friend for breakfast. I was, to put it mildly, shocked and never dared to tell the waiter that something was wrong with my dishes. The halumi on the avocado toast was burnt and a lot of oil was poured everywhere, which flowed down the hands and left an unpleasant taste afterwards. I was hungry so I put one toast on and another one my body refused to eat it. Unfortunately, the matcha I ordered was also impossible to drink because it was poorly mixed and I came across lumps. I will definitely come to this place again, but I do not recommend avocado toast with halloumi and matcha. Wasted 19£ :(

I’m a frequent visitor to duke st but my last visit wasn’t up-to scratch. I enjoy the food, however when I ordered two Jubel beers I was expecting a bottle as they don’t exactly tell you what you’re getting. Instead I got two cans for £13. I tried to email just to make the manager aware that maybe it needs to be put on the menu, but have been ignored for days. Safe to say I won’t be ordering any alcoholic drinks from here again. It’s not the first time we have had an issue with the bar, we ordered cocktails the time before last, we’d already finished our food, waited up-to 40 minutes.

A vibrant, fast-moving food experience. Plenty of choice of different cuisines. Staff were friendly and helpful. To say how busy it was we were seated quickly and food arrived promptly. My only gripe would be the online ordering. Two of our party had phones that wouldn't connect via the QR code and so this made ordering and paying for food via friends a bit more complicated.

Just Mid. I went in off-peak on a weekday round noon, slowie, stuff was pretty average tbh. I got steak frites for from Bone and Block and shared a plate of nachos from big Lola's with my mum. I thought it was a bit weird that the stall that specialises exclusively with steak and red meats only gives you two options; palid, grey edible leather (well-done), or what I went for as a normal (albeit apprehensive to what doneness it would come back as) person, named rather indistinctively as just """""pink"""". Thing was still mooing and grazing on the dressed-watercress garnish when it arrived. Although I can't say I'm very partial to really chunky steak tartare, it was quite delicious aside from the vague doneness and cook. Should probably sort that on the mobile site though, considering some people are completely intolerant to blue-rare/rare meat and/or too much pink. Don't want the punters to ruin those lovely, and they really are gorgeous, bathroom tiles upstairs. The nachos were kind of under-dressed and the corn chips were EXTREEEMELY similar to the blue bag brand I used to handle when I worked in a food stall in another food market, they are stupid-cheap, and while ours were absolutely piled with all kinds (all done in-house, the only thing pre-made were the nachos) they were like 5 quid cheaper than big lola's adjusted for inflation, and we were in town as well. The whole lot was really overpriced tbh. The skimpy nachos were 12 quid; while the steak and the frites were lovely, those two ingredients costed 24. The steak was not massive and the quality of the meat was... alright. Chips were excellent though, seasoned well. they also did that thing where restaurants do the STEEPEST bias cut possible on the protein to make the cuts look thicker, and henceforth the steak look bigger, kind of a pet-peeve of mine, also makes the steak cool way too fast, if that were peak times that steak's coming back Steve-Austin. The real deal-breaker had to be the fact I paid like nearly a fiver for a 330ml old Jamaica ginger beer can in a glass with ice and a skinny wedge of lime. That was taking the piss, come on, the stuff's like 79p in the offies. One thing to add, the whole market just reeked of tacky, "qUiRkY" middle-class-corporate-millennial "just a couple guys with a crazy idea" places you get all over the gaff in central LA or London: The uncomfortable steel stools, the dangly lights far too close to the table so you kept banging your fod everytime you got up for something, the "qUiRkY" exposed brick and chalkboard menus that all these types of places have. If I wanna spend 20 quid on a grotty smash burger and super-original-recipe-never-done-before side of parmesan truffle fries, I'll go to california and get ripped off the right way. Took one step in and We Will Never Die by Kyle Gordon started blairing in the back of my head. Bit of originality goes a long way fellas. And why does every server in these types of places always wear new balance runners or doc lows and just an offensive amount of second-hand carhartt??? swear it's not just me picking up on this. Rant over, service was good tho, thanks you lot. Don't go here if you earn less than 40k paying for your own meal.

I visited the street food market at the weekend while visiting friends. They had to raved about this place so much, that I had high expectations and I certainly was not disappointed! Despite there being a little queue outside, it didn’t take us long to be seated. I like the fact that the menu was all online and that we didn’t have to walk around the market to see the different options available to us. I placed my order of herb and lemon chicken pasta, and some arancini. I didn’t take long before it came and it tasted as good as it looked! Overall, I was very happy and would come back in a heartbeat!

The food is great, nice selection of vendors. Makes the place very welcoming and the atmosphere of the venue is perfect. I would recommend visiting here if you are in Liverpool. Only reason for the lower stars - I ordered a wine and there were worryingly shards of broken glass in the drink. I reported it and the staff acted correctly by taking the glass away and replacing it. Just due to the fact that the broken glass wasn’t from mine meant other glasses in the building may have had the same and it’s a serious health and safety matter - I was not offered any compensation for raising, what could have been an incredibly major issue.

We had our wedding reception here last year and it was amazing! Ruth and the DSM team went above and beyond to make sure we had the best day and were so accommodating in the lead up and during our time there. The atmosphere is perfect for a chilled out, intimate, small gathering and even enough room to dance as well. An unforgettable day and I’ve been here multiple times before and since and the food is always amazing and the staff are so helpful. Nothing was too much to ask for and even when we realised on the day that we didn’t have enough table cloths, they provided us with some which turned out to be exactly the same in a different colour! So much choice and variation on the menus - cake/dessert menu was exquisite, if I could eat everything again then I absolutely would, 100 times over. The food was quite expensive we paid £14 for a burger and it was just that there was nothing with it it wasn't even large or what id call gourmet. Took my friend a half hour to order her food because the system wouldn’t work and the bank couldn’t verify with the mass overload of Peazi app. She ordered her food ten minutes after me, but my food didn’t come for AN HOUR. Apparently there was a problem in the Bone and Block kitchen, and we were never informed, and because they do preordering of food, could not cancel the order. Really disappointing, because the food here is really good but I was pulling out my hair by the end. Don’t come here if you’re in a rush or peak time. When you enter the place, you are greeted by an interesting setting, not very modern, a classic English pub. Locally, the locality is on the ground floor, it does not have a terrace, but the interior looks very good! The menu offers a fairly wide range of dishes, you have plenty to choose from. There are also vegetarian and vegan dishes. I had some kind of mac and cheese, which was pretty good. All the products were fresh, and the dishes had the warmth of home cooking. The restaurant also caters for all tastes, offering a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The prices of the dishes are decent. It is justified, the quality-price ratio. The place was about half full, the food came in a decent time of 15-20 minutes.  The service was good, the waiters are kind, funny and very talkative, in a good way and they do their job very well. Initially, we encountered some difficulty accessing the menu via the QR code, particularly for the seniors in our group. Very good sizable pizzas. Good choice of beers. Great atmosphere. One gripe! And this is a big one - the toilets are shared so ladies are forced to queue with lads to use toilets the lads may have missed the pan or wetted the seat in. Then if that wasn't bad enough, they then have to tidy themselves up with lads standing about. This might be trendy but it's a dreadful idea. Certainly I won't be choosing to take any ladies here myself, which is a real shame as everything else was great. I'm having to score down for this reason alone.

Nice place, is very noisy which didn’t bother us but if you’re looking for a quiet place this isn’t it. There is a good choice of food. However, in my opinion it is over priced for what you get. You’ll likely need to add sides to get enough for a good meal. The food is over priced and quality is standard, which doesn’t reflect the price. Food was ok though, just not worth the money. You have to order from your phone, but phone signal is so bad you have to then sign up to their WiFi really to be able to order, giving a load of details in the sign up form. Service was terrible. Drinks ordered at the same time as food, we had eaten our meal by the time 2 drinks arrived, despite speaking to 3 people about our missing drinks. They did then refund the drinks which was a nice gesture. Staff not very friendly, some appeared to not know what they were doing. This seems like a good idea on paper but without the right staff it just doesn't work. You order a drink as you receive your meal and it arrives 10 minutes after you've finished. Also I ordered the same drink twice and it tasted completely different? The food is hit and miss. But it's really the very slow and lacklustre service that lets this place down.

The Food is not worth the price. We ordered the honey glazed chicken sandwich, the rib sandwich and the chicken burger. The chicken burger was burnt to a crisp and had to be sent back, the rib meat was fatty and the bread burned. At almost £13 each they were absolutely not worth the money, a small portion of meat on a basic roll, badly cooked and presented and only realistically worth of half the price. Meal deal food at medium dining prices. Feel ripped off and wouldn’t go back again. A bad experience taking my son out for food who is at Liverpool uni and we don’t get to meet up often.

I don’t really like writing reviews, and I have always liked going to the Duke Street Market, but I did not have a good experience. I celebrated my birthday there with a few friends and ordered from the specials menu on that day, and the food I was served tasted exactly how it looked. It was probably the worst thing I have ever eaten and I barely ate any of it. Then thinking, surely a dessert could fix this, but not, the sticky toffee I was served tasted burnt and was not enjoyable at all.

I like these market hall type food places. This one is a bit like the one up at the old Caines Brewery, but better, as you don’t have to queue up to get your food! The concept is straightforward, seven small kitchens have gathered, like animals seeking warmth at the fireside, to share a common dining hall and pool their overheads. This is an excellent idea and, here, they’ve gone one better in that you can order from all of the different kitchens at once, in a single order, via the QR code on your table. No more trying to coordinate your orders so as not to lose your table, no more angst if you fancy chips and somebody else wants a pizza. Here, all can sup from the keg of their choice and all can order together. The dining hall itself is deceptively large, with a downstairs and a mezzanine. Beware the downstairs as it does have those bench tables that you might have to share with someone else. Smaller tables, benches and perching points exist also. The aesthetic is retro-industrial, with lots of exposed wood and metal. The choice of food is excellent, almost overwhelmingly so – the indecisive will be paralysed with choice. There is Mexican, pizza, meat, Asian etc. And remember, you can have it all and that’s ok. For myself, I began with hoisin duck bao buns from Barnacle – these were juicy and full of flavour. The richness of the sauce was beyond pleasing. I would eat these again. Following that, I opted for the Birria Quesadilla, for Birria must be ordered wherever it occurs, and a side of the pulled lamb shawarma loaded chips from Barnacle. The quesadilla was perfect – beautifully flavoured and rich. The Birria itself was bursting with meaty flavour. I always want more Birria but I fear too much of a good thing. The loaded chips were, well, loaded – piles of pulled lamb upon fat and tasty hot chips. This meal was a definite hit. There was, alas, no room for pudding. The beer selection was limited, but there was a house lager – this came quickly and was as it should be, cold and refreshing. Drinks ae ordered in the same way as food, via the QR code on the table. Overall, a very positive experience and a place I would recommend – visit here if you love good food. Particularly good if you have an indecisive group who can’t decide what to eat or are out with the sort of people that only want to pay the exact cost of their own food, down to the last penny (for they can just order separately…). A point to note – this place doesn’t open on Mondays. I know it says this online, but it still surprised me – it’s such a big endeavour that I overlooked that these are small businesses, they’re just cohabiting under one roof, so they do need time off.

Lovely food here. Came for lunch and it arrived like restaurant standard street food. Dog friendly. WHICH I LOVE!!! The staff was lovely and I personally found the Japanese food place there amazing. So much choice here and it's really relaxed. TIP. Pick what you want before you get there because there is so much choice that you'll end up sitting there forever looking at other peoples food trying to figure out what they ordered.

The place is very popular so be prepared to wait, but the queue moves fast and the staff also did their best to serve with friendly smiles and affable attitude. The food and beers were all good and reasonably priced, which was probably why the place was buzzing the whole time. The orders were placed via QR code at the table.

I had such a pleasant experience here at Duke Street Market. Me and my friend visited on a weekday, just yesterday, actually. With it being a weekday it wasn’t overly jam packed full of people. We sat towards the back end of the food hall in a booth, usually utilised for large groups, (thankfully no one was sat there). First thing that hit me was the general size of the place. IT’S MASSIVE! Again, with us sat at the back, it really gave us a scope of the market and how truly open it is. Speaking of, i loved the vibe this place permeated. The sound of everyone conversing with one another, each of the stall traders cooking the food, the beautiful mix of aromas. As for the decor, it’s very much like Mackie Mayor, another food market. But with its own unique and distinctive identity. I ordered the Salmon Bibimbap from the GINGER food stall, were as my friend ordered the vegan and gluten free nachos from Big Lola’s Taqueria. About 10-15 minutes or so later, they both arrived! My Salmon Bibimbap was presented in a rather lovely circular bowl, much like my friends, and we just couldn’t wait to tuck in. The salmon was cooked perfectly, with it falling apart with ease, the sticky rice was soft and smooth, the bok choy with the sweet chilli sauce was delicious, the side of spinach added a slight pepperiness, the sliced carrots were nice and crunchy, bean sprouts were much like the carrots, and the spring onions was the cherry on top of it all. Overall, i really enjoyed the food that i was served. Everything complemented each other so brilliantly and it just worked, really, really tasty. My friend loved theirs as well. Service was ok, not the best i’ve had to be perfectly honest, but i suppose they did their job. Price wise it wasn’t cheap. £35.65 to be exact. But i quite honestly don’t mind paying that. after all, it was salmon that i had, and good quality i imagine. Overall, would i recommend you’d come here? Oh yes i would! For what an experience that me and my friend had here, you must come here and even try something else.

Looked at reviews before I went thought I had to try it queued for a few minutes as it was a Saturday afternoon the young girl on the door was very helpful showed me and my husband to the table explained how to order from the table or just go up to the end to order which is what I did, our food was coming from the same stand ,our drinks came quickly , then my meal came I waited for my husband’s to appear but it didn't I asked if it was coming soon but was told it would be 20 mins and he said when I ordered I was told orders don’t come together which I hadn’t ,I finished my food before my husband got his and would not have came here if we knew we would be eating separately Food was really good though

The food is great but the noise (mostly from the ventilation of the kitchens) is overwhelming. It is worse upstairs and unavoidable in the space. On top of it, there is music playing. As a result, people are shouting which only adds to the noise. If you struggle with sensory overload, avoid.

Loved this place so much we came back for a second visit the next day. Picar was easily my favourite trader, everything we had was delicious and excellent value for money, the tortilla was one of the best I've had. Really impressed with the great wines available from the bar too, the slightly chilled beaujolais was phenomenal. Loved the atmosphere, really lovely staff, also ordering by QR was so easy (especially if you join the WiFi first) A must visit if you're in Liverpool

Perfect for solo travellers like me. You just seat yourself, use the QR code to order from any or all of the ‘stalls’ and they bring it to you. The atmosphere was great and the food was way better than I expected from the cost and convenience.

An award winning food market located in the heart of Liverpool serving up something to feed everyone's appetite. With eight kitchens in an upmarket setting without the price tag, this place was definitely my vibe. The staff for each vendor were warming and welcoming and the ease of ordering on the app with table service was impressive. The crispy chilli squid from Ginger was light, super crunchy and not greasy at all. It was served with a mild chilli mayo that was so good I could have licked the bowl clean! From Barbina Pasta Amore, I had the cheese and broccoli pasta which was smooth as silk but needed a little salty kick to really bring it home as a great dish. And from Cahita, the Cahita cubano was probably the best I've ever had! With grilled pork shoulder, pork belly and roast ham, it was the house made mojo mayo and sweet mustard that absolutely sets it apart as a top tier sandwich! And being able to ask for fresh chilli in the note section was an added bonus at no extra cost. Easy to get too, nothing fancy but definitely felt all class, this is a food market win!

Love the idea of the place and would visit again.. BUT I won't order the pie again. Chips tasted like they had been re-cooked from last night, pie should have been 5" (see pic, my fingers are not 5") very bland taste, not filled either... Missus brisket bun and chips was very nice though. Hash browns to start were yummy too

On the way back from the West Country, we stayed the night at the Hatch Inn. Warm friendly welcome, comfortable room and very good food at dinner and breakfast. For a local pub/rooms the Hatch has maximised it's appeal with the facilities, presentation and Menus, A very positive experience and we will certainly return when next in the area.
