My wife and I came here on Saturday with no booking and we were expecting a good meal from starter to main was tasteless blind had a better meal a Toby carvery and that's saying something and to top it off its expensive and a bit snobby wouldn't be back much better places to eat panoramic definitely.

My Husband and myself visited the Dukes Restaurant inside The Pullman hotel whilst staying at the hotel for an Anniversary getaway. First impressions were excellent, the decor and lighting is perfect for a romantic meal or just a family get together. The food however... very well presented and tasty and well seasoned but very small portions for a main meal, probably the smallest I've ever had anywhere. When you look dish description on the menu it gives the impression of coming with accompaniments I.e. With asparagus and carrot etc. But this is more like a garnish than vegetable accompaniment. The waiting staff don't explain the menu and how it works therefore we never ordered any side dishes and to be honest I was starving afterwards. My husband ordered the steak which came with chips so he wa very satisfied, but I was disappointed because i was expecting green veg which is my favourite part of the meal and it was a chicken breast(Beautifully cooked and very tasty but small) with two small spears of Asparagus and some kind of mousse stuff, nothing much really. I'm all for fancy dining but I want to feel full afterwards, no wonder the restaurant was empty. The meal cost around £60.00 for two main meals and a bottle of water, bit on the pricy side considering I had to go to my room and eat snacks. Try if you wish as it wasn't bad food just small portions and expensive, I'd recommend probably best to go for 3 courses rather than a late evening main meal. I would say that the staff Tend to stand around laughing and joking loudly whilst your dining, I found this to very off putting and rude!

Over the last week we have stayed at 2 other hotels in Liverpool and eaten out at recommended restaurants. The food at Dukes in the Pullman far exceeds what you'd expect in a hotel restaurant: perfect medium rare sirloin steak and our waitress Nina was brilliant looking after us and putting up with us :) Stuart & Astrid x

We chose two courses from the table d'hôte menu for £20. Large open kitchen enabled us to see the food prepared, crab cakes didn't have much crab, and the hot and cold contrast of the lamb starter didn't work for me. Despite the two infringements mentioned above, I did enjoy my dinner and didn't mind the cost. Good looking food before the concert.

As we checked in at 9:30pm and had not yet had tea we decided to eat in the hotel and what a good choice we made. I honestly can't say a bad word about our experience eating in Dukes Restaurant. Neither of us had starters, I chose from the specials menu, Pork Loin but as I hate mushroom I asked if they could substitute the mushroom purée for another kind which was not a problem. My partner had the Dukes burger from the main menu which he devoured and the sweet potato fries it came with were delicious, I stole a few for myself. Desert I had lemon posset, orange, rhubarb and oat crumble and my partner had the milk chocolate and Catalan custard tart. Both main meal and deserts we didn't leave a bite, thoroughly enjoyable and we didn't feel that it was terribly over priced. Total it came to £60 including one glass of rosé and a pint of Carling. Be aware there is a 10% service charge added to your bill automatically which you can ask to be removed however gratuities are awarded to the staff and as they were so good with us we felt no need to remove this.

The service was excellent given the size of our party, 20+. Good wine, food was excellent and the vanilla ice cream was a 9.5/10.

After a long day I decided to eat in the hotel. I was not disappointed in the food but the cost of a two course meal was very expensive. The "Mushroom Soil" starter was fabulous and looked like a garden on a plate - however, my colleague ordered it the next day on my recommendation and it was totally different! Probably a different chef but even so it probably should be consistent. Good food if you don't mind the price.

This restaurant, which is part of the Pullman Hotel, looks stylish and has a good ambience, though despite being next to the Mersey there are minimal views of the river - you are mainly facing the back door of the Conference Centre. We decided to eat here on our first night at the hotel, especially as after joining Le Club Accor (the chain's card/points scheme) our booking confirmation had said we would have a 20% discount on food. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately there the good aspects of the evening ended. My starter ('picked salmon') was absolutely tiny: it could have been eaten in literally one mouthful. Our main courses were not much better. Tasty and well-cooked but small, and neither my wife nor I have huge appetites. Prices were reasonable but were compensated for by the high drinks prices - I thought it was no wonder the discount was only on food, and that was why the food/drink prices were apparently out of synch. We had ordered off the a la carte menu but for some reason the waitress left the basic menu for desserts and we had to get it switched. Then came the 'fun' part. As I gave the waitress my room number and asked for the bill to be charged to it, I thought I might as well mention the 20% discount, and gave her my Club card. She came back to say we were not entitled to it, as our Club card was a 'classic card' only! I pointed out that our booking confirmation had promised the discount, and she eventually came back to inform us "The manager says you are entitled to the discount, but it's because of your room rate and not your card. By way of apology, she has removed the service charge". Service charge?? We had not noticed anything about this on the menu - it must have been in miniscule print, if there at all. The discount being due to our room rate and not the card? How were we supposed to know that? - the distinction certainly wasn't made clear on our booking. And where was the manager? Why was she letting the poor waitress apologise for her? And why had she not checked our room rate before assuming I was in the wrong and declining the discount? When we checked out of the hotel the guy asked if everything had been OK. I told him about this debacle and he promised to look into it. 2 days later I received a standard, obviously computer-written, email regretting that we had not been happy and hoping it would not stop us from staying again. It will! And this is quite apart from all the other problems with our stay that I will detail on a separate review of the hotel.

Thought we would go here for our anniversary dinner as we saw online they offered a three course meal for £30. We could't find a menu anywhere until we sat down. What was offered on the set menu wasn't great so we opted for the main menu. The size portion is silly for the price. Tiny bit of chicken, sprinkle of seaweed? and bit of potato. We were still hungry afterwards. Decided to boycott the dessert for the sake of price. Made a mistake going there and we should've gone elsewhere.

After reading the reviews before visiting I was weary. The food truly was beautiful - not your very day burger. But the price I am unsure if it was worth it. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Honestly couldn't fault this fantastic restaurant. The service was brilliant and the dishes were just beautiful. I had the starter of pork belly with scallops and mushroom ash as a main and it was just to die for and certainly filled me up! Can't wait to return here.

I came here in March because my friends rated so highly even the staff back then were amazing especially the bar team they were quick and helpful from all different parts of the world. Ive been there three times after that and the new staff there is terrible and know nothing and just clearly dont want to work and just want a pay check chefs are rude , bar staff no nothing , 15 min for a martini ?! It has three ingredients! Not one or two but three times guests have fallen in that hotel abd then Pullman deletes off trip advisor then states they the best! Its baffling but its okay i found the other bar tenders and staff at another hotel and il stay there and my friends and family because you guys changed from amazing to just plain cocky arrogant staff and managers , how sad ps chefs dont burn food especially when its just me and my wife while its running late and one of your managers tries to sell me some vinoteca thats facing away from the customers appalling !

Having came to Liverpool for a concert in the Arena, my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a really good (and expensive steak). We must admit at over £20 for each steak, we were extremely disappointed at the quality of it! It was full of gristle. I think i should have gone to Specsavers as the total cost for 2 main meals and 2 drinks came to ..... £69.80!!!!! This price believe it or not also included A £6.30 SERVICE CHARGE!!!! I immediately had this removed from my bill as i wasnt happy at all. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN and would rather go to McDonald's for a Happy Meal!!!!!

Friday evening at 20:00 and we were only 1 of three couples having dinner in the restaurant. It is very new, the Pullman has only been open a few months and I expect it relies heavily on the conference venues as well as hotel guests.

9pm dinner on Saturday night. Good service , very good cooking - did not grudge higher than average price which was commensurate with a four star hotel however there was no menu on display and my wife and I both failed to notice on the menu foot - an additional 10% service automatically added to the bill. When queried on the bill the waiter immediately offered to remove the charge if we objected however that would have been unjust to the staff because the service was good.

Used the restaurant on Bank Holiday Monday evening while stopping at the hotel. The restaurant was not full but service was excellent. The décor of the restaurant is in keeping with its surroundings and is effective. There is not a vast selection of food on the menu, but that is no bad thing. Starters of scallops and chicken terrine were well presented and the scallops were perfectly cooked. Main courses of steak and lamb were again perfectly cooked and very well presented. Desserts included a cheese board which was excellent as was the strawberry millefeuille. Our waitress, Nicole, was very friendly and very efficient and it was a pleasure to eat here. Would definitely use this restaurant agin even if we did not stay at the hotel.

I had dinner at the Duke Restaurant in the Pullman Hotel on my final evening in Liverpool. The service is professional, and the flatcap and waistcoat uniform of the staff is a nod to the city's heritage. The overall atmosphere is very much as one comes to expect from hotel restaurants, but was nonetheless pleasant.
