Duke of York public house in Suffolk Coastal

Brilliant food service and atmosphere we celebrated wedding anniversary very good. Food was delish and cocktails lovely.

I had such high expectations for this venue. Had tried to come a few times. Finally managed to book a table. Must say was very disappointed. I was looking forward to the fish cakes. When we were seated, what was one of the 3 items they didn't have on the menu? Yep, you guessed it, the fish cakes! The service was so slow. Ordered drinks first and had to chase them up due to the length of time it took to get them. The venue wasn't that busy, so I was surprised how slow service was. Even my second order of drinks had to again chase it up and was told "sorry they missed the ticket." The food wasn't that great either. The curry definitely wasn't worth the £18 price tag. The rice was over cooked and like mush. Needless to say, we didn't stay for dessert. Shouldn't have had such high expectations! 😕

Well cooked food, good menu. Efficient and friendly staff. Ample parking. Five older family, we all enjoyed our meals. Thanks to Haley and Kirsty who looked after us.

We came to the Duke of York for a girly catch up and were so happy with the experience. We were greeted at the door, shown to a table and the girl kari was so polite and helpful. She did everything for us during our visit and was really smiley and friendly. She got us numerous drinks and recommended a good dessert for us to tey. Thank you for such an amazing experience.

Food and service to the highest standard as usual. Such a fantastic place to eat . Thanks especially to Kari and Emily our waitress, they were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. They are both dedicated to the job. Duke of York boss’s you need to keep these girls, they are a credit to you and the Pub.

My friends and I visited at lunch for our post Christmas meal. Straight from the offset we received fantastic service from our server Kari. Her professionalism shone throughout. Always attentive and polite. Service like this wants to make you come back. Thanks Kari - we will see you again soon.

Another good meal at the Duke of York, topped by brilliant service by Kari. The food is good for what you pay but Kari always makes the meal. She is attentive and always willing to accommodate our requests. Hubby and I are finding that we only want to go when we know Kari is working and we have sussed she works a Tuesday and Wednesday lunch/afternoon shift. Kari - we will be back soon and hope you can our waitress!!

This particular day I was at the duke was one I shall remember, while I was at a business dinner I received some heartbreaking news. There was a waitress called kari who immediately stopped what she was doing when she noticed I was upset. She was amazing. Not only was she a great support emotional wise she handled my wheat intolerance so professionally, I was a total pain with the menu!! I have already booked to come back for my birthday meal with family.

Excellent food A bit pricey but the food was worth it. Really good service from the young waitress called Carrie I believe

The Duke of York had a super friendly ambiance. I came in with my partner and it was a great spot to sit and chat, the service was fast and friendly. I had the Signature Burger, and thought it was excellent and I found it very filling.

Dinner with family, four of us. Starter very good, the mains sea bass, chicken & fish cakes, spot on, service by Lily perfect, then, the fire alarms went off…..all the building evacuated to the car park by the staff, went well with absolutely no fuss. We were outside for twenty minutes, brigade turned up, apparently an electrical fault. When seated again, Lily appeared to check we were ok, the manager then arranged a drink on the house to compensate for the disruption. Good meal, lovely server, Lily, and considerate manager. First time we’d been here. Really lovely service from the get go. Very impressed with the food. Also loved the decor. Haley looked after us, really helpful, friendly and welcoming.
