A cool little unassuming place on a relatively quiet side street that serves awesome fried chicken in waffles and other dirty loaded fries/mac’n’cheese. The cauliflower wings are also VG. Portions are v big!! Definitely recommend!

We visited this pub after seeing it on social media. It’s a small pub with great service. The chicken in a waffle was tasty, but it didn’t look as amazing as in the Instagram reels and posts. Luckily, we shared just one. However the cauliflower was absolutely amazing! Everyone should try it!

Absolutely fabulous pub. We came here all the way from Australia to try their Killa Waffles which were sensational. But what we didn’t expect was the delightful staff and atmosphere being the best part! Charlie was a delight!!!

So it's a pub. But this is not pub food, it's amazing! The chicken was seriously amazing. The Most Tender stuff ever! The vegetarisn fawaffle Was really nice as well and the garlic Parmesan Fries were great. The Staff was extremely friendly. I'll be back

Visited The Duke of York pub yesterday and had an amazing experience sitting outside. The food was delicious, and the drinks were spot on. A great spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere—highly recommended!

My and 2 sons came for a cheeky meal manager warren was unreal, although he was upselling not doing it to the point where we end up wasting food. Service was unreal, food cannot fault chicken was able to cut with a spoon Mac and cheese was cheesier then a dad joke, and the winner was the brisket soft, juicy and falling apart cannot fault anything, 100/10 that good I didn’t even take photos before😂

Warm welcome by bar staff, good selection of drinks and a nice vibe inside with music. The waffle was everything I dreamed of! Really tasty! The sun was shining so I sat outside - lots of seating available. It was really peaceful until someone (presume owner, manager?) arrived and gave one of the staff a very over the top dress down for a single pint glass being left on one the the tables - hope he will read this and think about being nicer to the staff. Thanks to the team, will come again!

I came here because I really wanted to eat the viral Killa Waffle meal and my God, it delivered and is worth every single pence of my money! Furthermore, the service and vibes were incredible and I’ll definitely come back here! Therefore, I rate the pub a 5/5 on everything!

Great food. Recommended by a friend.. not heard of killa waffles.. but the chicken I had was worth the visit. Only 4 stars for atmos (it was a quiet day) but the music was great, very 70s and disco.. Tommy behind the bar was great, friendly and welcoming and kept himself busy. Highly recommend a visit.

So so good ! First of all, be mentally prepared to be full, then make sure you have napkins finally dig in. These waffles were really tasty and the portions were perfect. We tried the Fawafel (falafel and Greek salad waffle) with spicy mango sauce and can only recommend. The staff was super nice and it was lovely to be able to eat outside and enjoy the sun.

I booked a table for food and drinks only to find out on arrival that the kitchen was closed all week. Nothing on social media, nothing online and no contact from the pub. This was the second time we tried to go and have both agreed we won’t bother again.

The best type of food & flavours with friendly service. Drinks were a little hit & miss with some lines either not available & gas ran out on Guinness but it was soon fixed & our drinks were comp for the inconvenience. Great problem resolution. Really enjoyed my experience ❤️

We came here after 5 hours sleep, our flight from Edinburgh and a good few hours exploring London with increasingly tired legs. It was everything we were hoping for and then some! It was a lovely location in a quieter part of London than the main tourist hubs which was great. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating and they gave us great recommendations and made us feel super welcome. We felt very looked after! The food was amazing. We had nachos as a starter and the portions were generous and the flavour was great. It's not often that I rave about guac but this guac had the right balance of creaminess and lime acidity. We had the brisket waffle at the recommendation of the staff and were were not disappointed. The pulled pork was succulent and the sauces and butter made it so rich and flavourful. The selection of drinks was really good and all at a reasonable price. This place is a real gem and we would highly recommend!

An exceptional experience ! First of all, the neighborhood is very quiet, which is ideal if you want to eat in peace and quiet. Secondly, the setting is very pretty, the atmosphere in the pub is superb, and the music is just right. Everything is very clean ! The people who work here are friendly, warm and smiling. The service is fast! And last but not least, the food is absolutely outstanding! The quantities are very generous, and what's more, it's delicious. You can be sure that you'll leave having eaten enough and for less than 20 pounds per person. I can only encourage you to push open their door. You won't be disappointed. As for me, I'll be going back with my eyes closed because I've still got plenty of dishes to try :) ! Keep going KILLA WAFFLES staff, you are doing really great !

Waited so long to finally try Killa Waffles, so happy they’ve finally got a home. Great atmosphere in the Duke of York, staff are spot on and the food was out of this world. Never had anything like it…can’t recommend enough!

Absolutely fantastic chicken and the loaded waffles were class. Amazing people running this place. Only missed out of a 5 for atmosphere as there was only 1 other table in when we visited.

In terms of food it's nice. But I experienced bad service, i think there was a staff shortage and the place was not cosy, we didn't feel welcome. A few people were served before us and we had to wait for a lot of time.

Comfort food at its finest! The Killa Mac is absolutely phenomenal and the staff were kind and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough, its a must go!

Lovely little hole in the wall style pub with rooms upstairs. I stopped in for a quick bite to eat in the afternoon, I hadnt realised the kitchen had been taken over by killa waffles….. bloody fantastic food!! Pints were fresh, they had Erdinger on tap which I love. I had the buttermilk chicken mac and cheese… wow was awesome! Will definitely be returning 🫡

These waffles are insane. We had the truffle fries and the killa mac waffle between two and it’s was plenty of food! So many more things on the menu to try though. The service was also great - the guys behind the bar very friendly and attentive. Still seems like it could be under the radar…. Get in quick below this place blows up!

Killa food from killa People. These guys have brought a superb new energy and vibe to the building and community. The portions are HUGE and tasty as. I Can see why they going viral and smashing the internet, but it's real people doing real food - visit in real time and you won't be disappointed ! Brisket fries - wow !

Have popped by the Duke a couple of times. Amazing service and very friendly staff. They've also just done a refurb which looks great.

Really cool new menu now that Killa Waffles have taken over the kitchen. Fresh fitout and new management have made this place great again!

No vayas a este pub fue un desastre total, En cuanto a pubs: no draft ale no draft corona no draft cocktails Comida sabia varios platos no disponibles y al ser un menú pequeño quedó Usted con una opción muy limitada, sin cordero ni croquetas ni pasteles de pescado Sin tocino para la hamburguesa de queso con tocino y para taparla tampoco mostaza. Also El chef no cambiaría papas por puré. ¿Por qué no? ¿Terminas la noche con té o café? ¡Ninguno de ellos tampoco! Luego se puso a hablar con el barman sobre la eliminación del cargo por servicio Nunca más oscurecerán su puerta.

We stopped in while in the area for a quick bite to eat for dinner. We were a party of 5 on a Thursday evening. They were not very busy at all. There was one guy behind the bar and he was really nice. We ordered and sat outside. The beers were really good and we got hamburgers and one of us got the fish and chips. The food was good and the prices were fair for what you get. We did not try the bathrooms or any of that, so we can't speak to that. The service was okay for what we were doing, but we did not need much. We got our order, enjoyed the beers, then left. So it was good for that. The area was great and easy to get to from our Airbnb in the area. Would recommend to those in the area.

Best part of the experience was the people! Steve the owner was behind the bar, and Bhargav the hotel manager were behind the bar. They were so kind and helpful. Made sure everything was good and even switched out the drink I didn’t like. Great food and drinks. I’m visiting from Canada and see the reviews about great food, but not sure where you the bad reviews on service came from…my experience was great!

Nice little boozer but the staff were collapsed on the table half asleep

I was in London for six days and tried six different fish and chips. Far away the best I ate. Far and away. The beer batter highlights the fish not the batter. My family and I were treated warmly when I brought them for dinner, and I was treated warmly when I came down every night for a pint. It is home away from home and I could not recommend more highly. The owner is hands on, the staff he’s chosen is welcoming, knowledgeable, and really good people to get to know if you have the time. I will never forget my time at The Duke of York. I wish Stephen and all the best and hope you are able to get a 10th of my experience should you be fortunate enough to go. Pricing is a poor survey question. It’s affordable for a family on vacation. It’s a meal for anyone who doesn’t worry about the price.

Asked for a non alcoholic drink and he was confused on the concept. Toilets are grim, put me off ordering any food from here and actually visiting again.

By far the best food we had during our entire week visit to the city.

We came for a bit to eat and a beer. This is a small hole in the wall pub. The atmosphere matches is character, which is working class neighborhood pub style. The bar keep seemed put off by us showing up. Not at all welcoming. We bothered him with our order... Chicken filets with chips and sweet potato chips, a beer and a soda. The food was really good. The bed was great. Even at the end of the visit the bar keep was kinda cold. I'd go back if I lived around here. Probably would recommend to friends unless I knew they'd be up for the lack of hospitality.

Had the best bank holiday Monday ! Went for walk to walk off all the Easter chocolates and ended up here for a little hydration after and end up stay for lunch and couldn’t have been happier! Food came out quickly and it was delicious and the drinks were just as good ! Will definitely be back !

Went there on a quiet evening. Surprisingly cheap Guinness/beers for the location (good news). Didn't eat a meal, but had some nice fries.

Just wandering around. Popped in for a point and decided to try their fish and chips. Excellent.

Fantastic food and very welcoming staff. Fish and chips were exactly as they should be, crispy and flaky. My partner had the bangers and mash which were also wonderful! Finished it off with a delightful sticky toffee pudding. Was a perfect meal for our first night in London. Would highly recommend!

My wife chose this place at random for dinner on a Tuesday night last week. The food was great, and so was the service. My kid especially loved the chicken wings. Just a pity they didn't have any cask ales on tap.

It was a pleasure to fine this beautiful place in Victoria. The staff were very welcoming, the food was excellent and good value. it was a pleasure to visit such a clean polished place. My mother had a saying, if the brass was polished and the toilets are clean, the kitchen must be good, and I can vouch for this. Highly recommend it, just across the street from Victoria station and all the hustle and bustle

We actually stayed two nights at the Duke rooms. Very cozy room. The very best staff imaginable.

Staff let down by greedy management with no back up. We had a table booked for 6 at 2.45pm to be told our table had been given to another group who also booked with management and they got there first. There were no other tables inside but we could sit outside in the showers, there is no cover what so ever! Initially I felt sorry for the young barman but when we ordered food he advised 30 minutes, this turned into 70 minutes. 😡 We were given a couple of free rounds to keep us happy it's just a shame the management choose to treat customers badly.

Really nice little pub off busy Edgware Road, a good find and friendly place for a spot of lunch. Service was excellent and we enjoyed our lunch very much.

We arrived here as it got booked for us by a client as we were working close by the next day. It was shut at 2030 on a Sunday night. We had to buzz in to check in. The rooms were a real let down but adequate. They haven't been cleaned very well for a while. The upkeep has clearly been minimal in the room I stayed in and there were stains on the sheets. Not great at all.

I had the best burger here for lunch. The service were very friendly and efficient. The ground floor was busy with people and drinks. Upstairs for restaurant services was a different vibe. We enjoyed our meal

The pub is quite small but has seating outside which expands the size of the place on a nice day. We arrived just after 1pm and there was 2 other people there sitting at separate tables. The bartender wasn't overly friendly (a welcoming smile would have probably improved the atmosphere) and we had to ask for food menus when we ordered drinks. Music was on quite a low volume and I commented on this to my husband (it felt like we were in a library) and I think the bartender may of heard me because he turned the volume up! The menu is quite small and two of the 'snack' items weren't available. That was fine, we ordered the chicken wings, spring rolls and chips. Food arrived in good time and the bartender asked if we wanted napkins and plates. Yes, most definitely! The snacks were quite good. :) Then the 'chef' came out of the kitchen on his scooter and scooted out the door. Within half and hour, the place got busy and the bartender had to tell anyone who wanted to order food that the 'chef' was away and that they could order upon his return. The pub appeared to be clean, as long as you were looking down or at eye level, but as soon as you looked up, everything you can see is covered in a thick layer of dust. The food was good, the drink selection was good, what could really improve is the atmosphere. A little warmth and friendliness can go a long way, especially in smaller establishments.

Unwelcoming, unprofessional staff. Rang day before to confirm booking they claimed to know nothing about and told me there were loads of pubs in London with same name …? Asked about parking due to rail strikes and the bloke that I was talking to said he had no idea where there was any local parking for visitors - got the impression they don’t like strangers in town. Turned up on the day - no table for 20 but a couple of tables laid up for 10 - 14. We sat on another table and were duly moved off it as they said it was booked for someone else. We finished our drinks and left without eating

The drinks selection here is really good along with the snack selection. However the atmosphere is seriously lacking: the music is quiet, the bar staff are cold, the atmosphere is stale and the place feels more of a halfway house than a comfortable pub.

We booked a room here for 1 night when we visited London for personal reasons. At first the room looked okay but on closer inspection the pillows did not have protectors on and the actual pillows were YELLOW with stains.I checked both pillows and even the 2 spare ones on the shelving unit, and they were all the same. When we complained about this, we were told that all pillows in the hotel are the same and that the covers always get changed and are clean - so what was the problem? I explained that they should have protectors on for a start but also just because the covers are clean, it still leaves the pillow dirty! The man also said they don’t change pillows all the time, just like they don’t change mattresses all the time. The man didn’t quite get it and kept referring to the fact that the covers were clean on and we should have been satisfied with that. He offered us to have a few more pillow cases on per pillow but I just couldn’t settle. A quick inspection of the mattress showed that it had a protector on but the actual mattress was grubby and had stains on too. The carpet was also extremely dusty around the edges, paintwork messy, stained toilet, and generally dusty on lampshades. The phone also didn’t work. We had to leave that tonight and find somewhere else as the manager was called and ‘couldn’t offer us a refund’. No apologies were made either. Just avoid!!

Pub mit toller Atmosphäre. Wir wurden hier sehr freundlich empfangen und bedient. Essen war gut (wir hatten nur Beilagen für den Hunger zwischendurch daher kann dies nur bedingt aussagefähig beurteilt werden).

This pub is a little peaceful gem amidst the otherwise bustling Central London area! The owner is lovely and the food was not only reasonably priced but arrived quickly and tasted scrumptious. The place itself has been tastefully decorated and facilities were nice and clean. Will stop by again :)

So, another of the great London pubs to visit. Food, great choice (Try the Haddock) , cosy setting and has a good outdoor area to hang out, day or night!

Came today at 20:50 and wanted to order dinner, the worker today be the kitchen is closed that it closes between 20:30-21:00. Being a tourist from out of town I didn’t expect that a place closing at 23:00 would stop serving food so early. Very disappointed especially since I wasted my time travelling here and back for nothing.

Great spot. We came for a few pints and stayed for dinner. Shasha was a fantastic bar host. She really made us feel like locals.

Perfectly average as far as bars go, but great name!

By far my most fav pub. Great selection to choose from on the food menu and always cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable, the staff members are friendly and the atmosphere is light.

Amazing burgers, good prices and really friendly landlord- nothing not to like about this place!

What has happened to this place? New owners, new management? Used to be a friendly and well managed neighbourhood pub. Now looks and feels messy and unorganised, as if nobody cares much. A barman with headphones and a body language that makes a customer feel like a nuisance is not a winning combination. Let alone the fact that the pub had run out of half of their beer choices. Sad, really.

Nice pub , well located for Victoria train and underground station . And the theatres . But very simple basic menu . Pub was very busy even during covid . Food was served quickly , and was tasty and cheap .a good choice for all .

We were visiting winter wonderland (2 sets of couples) as our Christmas tradition and after usually booking a standard branded hotel thought we would look for a smaller bios unless closer to Hyde park. Checking in was emailed as 3pm but as most hotels we assumed we could drop our bags off prior to this time. The pub online opened at 12:00 so we arrived at 13:30 to drop bags off. The pub was bolted and locked shut. We were not the only people waiting to get into the pub. After trying every door and banging on the windows we could see a man behind the bar as well as a man seated at a table on his laptop. Neither of which were interested for a while. After being let in we were told the pub was closed but we could leave our bags on a bar stool and come back later. I didn’t feel safe about this, thinking the bar would open for the evening period and after asking was told out bags would be left in the room. The gent checking us in also had no idea we had booked 2 rooms, after booking two rooms online. Returning from winter wonderland we were surprised that our bags even made it to the room, however rooms were not at all as advertised, much smaller than the photographs and the only resemblance being the grey and white paint. Other than that, a quarter the size and nothing like promoted as booked. My parents found an open pot of KFC gravy next to their bed as well as screwed up tissues on the floor and loose change along their window sill upon arrival also. The toilet was BROWN AND STAINED nothing like I’ve ever seen. I took pictures but on consideration can’t even bare to post them in fear they will make anyone reading this hurl. The toilet door doesn’t lock so if you book I hope you’re extremely close with the person you’re sharing the room with as the privacy is minimal. Do yourself a favour and book the cheapest hotel possible NOT this one. I hate complaining and won’t nit pick. This may be a nice pub to eat/drink in but please do yourself a favour and don’t stay here. ALSO do not be misconceived my the photographs of a breakfast buffet on the bar when you stay, they DO NOT offer this. Breakfast is given on your way out and consisted of a brown paper bag with a croissant (not in a packet just open - considering the current COVID situation I wasn’t best pleased) an apple and a carton or orange juice. Be sure we won’t ever come back, even for a drink.

Booked for Sunday lunch. Should have realised that this public house was not the gastro dining place they advertise. People tell me you can tell the type of establishment by the quality of their rest rooms & they were appalling. Then onto the food which was supplied, this was without doubt nowhere near fit to consume. It was cold to the touch and was informed that it was not cooked on the premises but delivered by a courier on a electric scooter. Gave this pub 1 star because of the fraught beer, even the mulled wine wasn’t fit to drink. Not even an apology from bar manager. Would not recommend eating here, plenty of of choice around this area ashamed I picked the wrong one
