Honestly the worst place I have ever eaten from. Not only did they forget the 2 portions of pigs and blankets I ordered which were £2.50 each. They put a raw potato on my dinner completely uncooked. Also forgot the sweetcorn off my Sunday dinner. The mash was disgusting with hardened bits in it. I wouldn’t feed my dog this. The dinner went straight in the bin but this is the potatoe they put in.

Had a roast dinner today dished out by the staff to take out , the poorest meal we've ever had , 4 mushed sprouts , 5 small roast potatoes about 10 over cooked peas and 5 carrots , 3 small pieces of meat , not worth £4 , never mind £8 ,

Had a carvery meal delivered on time, hot and delicious, plenty of food, would definitely reccomend

if I could give 0 stars I would, received food from them thru Uber eats and all the food had collapsed in the bag, leaking everywhere.

£27 on food, which all went in the bin. Home made chips aren’t home made at all, soggy garlic mushrooms, cold pork and stuffing bap!! Like not even warmed up, stone cold. Blue cheese sauce? Didn’t resemble any taste of cheese what so ever, absolutely disgusting. Ordered spicy chicken wings and got plain, which were also dry and disgusting. Used to enjoy food from here, never again.

Put an order through on uber and scheduled a time for delivery. It arrived late, when i called the pub to see where it was the girl was rude and just said she can't do anything about it and i just have to wait until a driver turns up. The food arrived, the portion of cauliflower cheese barely covered the bottom of the tub (it cost £3 extra btw) it was dry with no cheese sauce left. The pigs in blankets were not cooked and the sausages were still pink and white inside (these were also an extra £3) so were inedible. It was the worst £30 I've ever spent for a carvery we barely touched. Previous carverys have been gorgeous but the past few times it's been appalling, late and cold. I gave it the benefit of the doubt last time it arrived an hour late and the same quality, i won't again.

So miss half my items wouldn’t send the driver back to give me my items that I ordered and then sent me cold lumpy disgusting gravy place has gone downhill. Don’t even bother getting a delivery from them.

I ordered of the just eat app and the food wasn't cooked properly the veg , and the meat wasn't right smelled funny like it was off also I ordered dessert with all the cream missing off every dessert

If you’re thinking about ordering a carvery from here please don’t and save your money. It was probably the worst takeaway I’ve ever had and definitely the worst carvery I’ve ever ate. They forgot the drinks and most of the food was raw and inedible. The new potatoes were just raw potatoes, the vegetables were cold and hard, yorkshires were soggy and underdone and the meat was just vile. Disgusting. I’ve never left a review before but this place really deserved one.

Don't waste your money. Tonight, my partner ordered through Deliveroo, and our experience was disappointing. The chicken tikka curry had an overpowering vinegar and onion taste, far from the expected flavor. The beef burger, featuring a brioche patty, was entirely soggy, and the overall burger was excessively greasy. The chips had an odd and greasy taste, and the peas were over-boiled and lacked flavor.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I had to start the meal I just had! I bought chicken new yorker and... Wow! I love chicken. I know that the thicker it is, the harder it is to cook. This was about 2 inches thick and consistent throughout! It was amazing and genuinely the best cooked chicken I have ever had! I said as much to the last who was behind the bar. I suspect she was the landlady. She said the chef was her 20 year old daughter. If she's aiming high in the future, good luck to her. I paid £8. If I paid 50% more, I'd have been happy that I got value for money! I cannot recommend more highly! 👏

First time i have ever ordered a carvery from here and won't order again. The roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked in pepper and had raw bits inside. The food was bearly warm, the gravey was mainly in the foil it came in not the pot. I hadn't eaten all day so managed to eat some but ended up with a bad stomach through out the night, would not recommend this place to anyone

Carvery (vegetarian) discusting cabbage brown colour and smelt funny, wouldn't even feed my dogs this!

Had breakfast here the food was lovely but serivce was shocking our food was on the serving counter for over 5 minutes and had to get it ourself to stop food going horrible

Food was missing and it was cold lady tried to blame just eat and said they are busy if it was me I'd of sent another meal out the food looked bad quality anyway gave it the dogs

Ordered through just eat, 3 meals all looked like supermarket ready meals heated up and dumped in a plastic tub, absolutely garbage, all food inedible all tasted like vineger had been poured over all food to try and give it some flavour! Will not order again as trying to communicate with the resteraunt is a joke!!

First visit for two or three years and it has had its layout changed considerably. The layout is actually very strange and disjointed. There is also now a restaurant and a bar. I didn't try any food and can't comment on this. Selection of beer is good but the atmosphere remains as per padt reputation and as it was on my last visit - groups of lads and men, in caps, basically dominating the place. Extremely rowdy. All in all if you are on the rowdy side this is one for you (plays good music too). If you are out with the Mrs would definitely NOT recommend. Would also not recommend if you are looking for somewhere more relaxing or sophisticated.

Nice quiet pub, football channels always on. Nice drinks on the tap too.

They no longer have live music, the interior didn't seem to really be finished and is a mismatch as they've tried to make it to a venue which can do anything. Since they started to make food it also reeks, couldn't stand inside there long enough to order a drink

Fantastic pub with absolutely delicious fresh cooked food. Handmade chips cooked to perfection, burgers, pizzas, Indian meals.

Had a carvery from there ordered turkey beef and gammon beef was just scraps mash was lumpy and tasteless and I found piece of paper or something in my stuffing appallingly bad food

Ordered a sunday carvery and after reading so many bad reviews was worried but such a big serving and well cooked food! Would definitely order again.

Honestly the worst 'food' I've ever tried! Roast Pork Chow Mein in a BBQ Sauce - £6.00 - the tinned spaghetti looking one just 🤢 Garlic Mushrooms - £3.24 - 5 microwaved mushrooms cold and rock hard BBQ Chicken Wings £3.24 - undercooked and inedible Big Jules Burger £6.24 - see photo...nuff said Beef Curry Mild £5.50 - smells like minestrone soup and tastes worse with a pile of pepper to spice it up. Microwave rice stuck together Mixed Kebab £5.88 - see photos, wouldnt even dare try it. How can you serve wedges of doner meat which is charcoal on the outside and squishy uncooked and cold on the inside?!?! Chicken is also burnt on the outside and raw inside. Disaster waiting to happen!

Fantastic pub recently moved to area and found this pub basic inside but megga friendly staff awsome food and 5stars. Cheap beer tetley 2.25 apint megga portions of food luv the plaice .tbis is the place to visit gr8 plaice .paul and dawn

Delivery great but that's about it Rice wasn't brought, mild curry was really spicy, no pork at all in chow min, chicken nan with no chicken in it Expensive and total waste of money

First pub of our stay... £9.60 for a pint of Guinness and pint of dark fruit. Never again

Wasnt all that bad, but was late. Then the meat feast pizza I orederd was more like a roast dinner pizza, had roast pork and huge chunks of gammon on it. The hot wings were slimey and over covered with sauce. Do t think I'd order again

Only one star, because I have to. Ordered 2 Sunday dinners at 15.00, for delivery at between 18.00 and 18.30. Didn't arrive, so called them. Was told to call back, as it was noisy at the bar. Tried, not answer, numerous times, and left a message. The "food" eventually arrived at 20.40. Check out the "cauliflower cheese", absolutely foul. Being busy is not an excuse, if you can't fulfill the order, don't take it. Tried to refuse delivery, but was told that we couldn't.

So disappointed today, always had superb meals from here but just had several Sunday roasts delivered, not one of us could eat our roast potatoes rock hard could not bite them, cut them, absolutly awful!

Just been here with wife for meal and had 16oz rump steak omg amazing and big portions, chips were huge, mushrooms cooked good, steak cooked perfect, peas nice, all good, big out door tables with good seating areas......keep up the top cooking guys.

We booked for lunch and when we arrived, were told that the chef hadn't arrived. Ordered some beers and asked if we could get food elsewhere and eat it with our beers and were told not! Not recommended!

After having several meals that were very nice, the last 2 meals have been far from satisfactory. Breakfast over 2 hrs late. Bacon dry egg hard. Cheap sausages. Egg hard Tonight dinner over 1hr late gammon inedible eggs hard

The menu on the app isn't up to date. The menu has 2 pages but this wasn't clear when we ordered. Service was good. Had the football on. Food was nice. Only outdoor seating at time of visit

Went yesterday for two breakfasts. We had the gourmet which was really tasty and good produce. Tea and coffee were top notch. However, let down by the cleanliness of the place. We were sitting outside on the stage by the TV. The tables were sticky with old beer and food, the menus were filthy and sticky and the floor looked like it hadn't seen a mop in weeks. This is the problem when you are waiting so long for food, you tend to look around you. The waitress was great, Tasha. The two barmaids (long blonde ponytails) were busy doing nothing except short changing us by 7quid. You really need to get your cleaning up to scratch, especially these days.

Just had Sunday carvery 70th birthday meal for 6 really nice meal tasty plenty full well presented , very enjoyable would definitely recommend a try, thanks to the staff for supplying as requested made my day that bit more special .

They've given me £7 when I asked for money back when the order cost over £17. Absolutely disgusted, cannot stress enough how useless customer service was. I've got work at 7pm so by the time the food comes I won't be able to eat it, hence why I preordered it for 5pm, so not only did i pay for something that I'm not getting, I've lost out on money and food money and customer service couldn't get a flying monkey about their customers . Told the 'Land lady' how angry, disgusted and disappointed I was And that it was ridiculous, still nothing was done for me, she told me the food is ready now and she's waiting for me to give her the okay to send the food, I said yes someone else in the house can have it but it wouldn't be me, she hung up on me on the phone And the order came in about 10 minutes The delivery driver apologised At this point I had already left for work on an empty stomach. A family member said that it was NOT worth the money effort and time for the food they'll got . Ordered no peas and it even said no peas on the container but in the actual meal there were peas. Couldn't even feed a child on the meat that was given and a very small portion of cabbage and carrots and 2 peices of broccoli. 4 roast potatoes, mash and a Yorkshire pudding with stuffing. I'd advise people not to order from here, don't even wast your time and effort as you will only be treated the same as me as they have admitted that they couldn't handle with the orders they were taking on, told them they shouldn't accept orders if they cannot handle it. And was told that I wouldn't know until I was in their position. I have worked in a takeaway for years so I know exactly what I should and shouldn't of done.

Very happy with the lunch everything tasted nice . I just found the web site a little awkward .yes I would definitely eat from there again.

Went for xmas dinner. Soup. Inedible. Turkey dinner was the one star. Strawberry cheese cake. As pic. Was slop with Strawberry jam on top

Took 1 hour 24 minutes to deliver. Food was luke warm at best. Meat was not very nice. Veg was not pealed and crunchy. Very little gravy. Cauliflower cheese was tasty and the yorkshire, altho soggy were fine. Bread was super soft, but over buttered so had turned to mush in certain places. Bacon was... Interesting. Sausage was...cheap. Wasnt a full pint of coke. Closer to 3/4 and ice on top. Wont be ordering again, 75% of the food went in the bin, hope what I ate hasnt made me ill.

This was the worst meal i have ever had, rang the pub to speak to management who to no surprise had popped out for 10 minutes. The beans was the most digusting thing, they reminded me from when i worked in a cafe and the beans had been sat on the warming trays for several hours. The sausage had been microwaved as the outsides was rock hard and they had burnt it in the microwave. I have never had food so bad in my life, will never order from this place again.

Just had a meal delivered via Just Eat i had 16oz Tbone the wife had the American chicken breast what a fantastic meal and value for money 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Good live music venue, improved after the refurb. Beer choice could be better, Oakengates is a real ale oasis except for this pub.

Going through a refit and it looks like it'll b s really good place for a drink. Don't no how they've managed to create so much space but it definitely looks bigger

I have been here before. Under the old management. And it was lovely. Today however, when I went with my mum and sister. It was awful. The barmaid was lovely. Can’t fault her at all. So this is not aimed at her... The landlady however leaves a lot to be desired... and another person sat in the bar told us that he’s surprised anybody was in the place with the way the staff were. Before anything had even happened. We didn’t really know what he meant. But now. We do! Firstly. I was sipping my drink. Meaning my coaster was on the table with no drink on it. When the landlady came over. Didn’t speak to any of us which is incredibly rude. Did not even look at me. And placed said coaster back where I had got it from. In a little pattern. In the centre of the table. Then walked off. So when I put my drink back down I placed it on the table. Not the coaster. As I was afraid I would be kicked out or put on a naughty step for disturbing her pretty pattern... at which point. She marched over. Put a coaster in front of me. Picked my drink up. Placed it onto the coaster. And said “the fact that they’re there is a bit of a clue”... at which point me and my family just stared at each other. Not quite believing how rude this person was. I was only no longer using the coaster. Because she removed it and put it into her beautiful pattern while I was drinking my drink! She also couldn’t quite contain her irritation at the fact that my sister was feeding her baby in the pub. Making comments about dirty wet wipes when she walked past. The wetwipe was in my sisters hand!!! Not on the floor or anywhere inappropriate! We didn’t hammer a nail into the wall and hang up a dirty cloth like a decoration. Or just wipe his face on her curtains! And then she picked a toy up from the floor that my nephew who is only six months had just accidentally dropped. And slamming it on the table. My sister said thank you and smiled. Even though it had been slammed. And the landlady completely blanked her. Turned her back. And walked off... she also came over and cleaned the table around where I was sat. Without speaking to me. Or apologising. Or even acknowledging that I was there. Just leant right over me and cleaned away. I do shower thank you. No need to fear I may contaminate your table... And I wasn’t eating or making a mess. She just randomly kept cleaning it. She’s a very rude individual. considering it was the Christmas lights switch on event. I had wondered why it was so quiet in there when we first arrived. But now I know why! It was pouring with rain and freezing. And everyone would rather be out in that waiting for Santa. Than sit in her pub with her!! As I said. A man told us he was surprised anyone was sat in there. And we hadn’t known why he said it at first. But he also said “I’d be surprised if you are even allowed to fart in here!” Because. No paying with a card. No food after 2pm. No wetwipes. No drinks allowed on tables. But also. No moving the coasters to use them either it would seem. No babies accidentally dropping a toy. No sitting comfortably laughing at your mums joke either because today when I did. I got such a vile stare from the landlady. I felt like a naughty child! So. If you do venture out to the place. Don’t laugh. Don’t smile. Hold your drink at all times because the coasters are for show. In patterns. And not to be used. But if you don’t use them. You’ll be in trouble! So just hold it for dear life. Don’t let your child accidentally drop anything. Don’t wipe a child’s face at any point. Wetwipes are offensive. Don’t sit near any furniture. Otherwise she will have to keep cleaning around you. And maybe even fumigate the area whilst you enjoy your pint. And for gods sake don’t look at her and smile. All you will get is a sarcastic rude comment. Or her back turned to you. What a disappiontment.

I have frequented this establishment for some years and have always received a warm welcome. It has recently been taken-over by new management who seem friendly enough.

Great place always good entertainment for families and reasonable prices too
