Went tonight for the opening night of the new menu. Great gastro food. We had Thai prawns and deep fried Brie. Then pea and mint risotto and sea bass on a paella bed. It was delicious. Well done. Can’t wait to go back. Lovely wine, great service and lovely people.

Four of us enjoyed a cracking meal at the Duke this evening. Now under new management, Julie and Luke seem to have transformed the place since the last time we were in. There's a good range of beers and wines, non-alcoholic (for the driver) too. We had a sea bass, paella, chicken and scampi - all served piping hot, generous portions and very tasty. We thoroughly recommend this if you're local, or visiting Broseley, Much Wenlock or Ironbridge. We'll be back for more!

We enjoyed a lovely evening in the company of hosts Ann and Martin , the atmosphere was very friendly and enhanced by the cosy log fire and pictures of days gone by. We would have loved to return to try the food here as was well recommended. Was lovely chatting the evening away with friendly locals, well worth a visit !!!!!!

Luckily this pub does lighter bites as well as their normal generous portions, or we would all have needed “doggy bags” to take home the uneaten portions! The food was freshly cooked and tasty, as well as reasonably priced. I’d call it No Frills dining.

Stopped in Broseley for lunch and after a quick walk round around the place decided this looked the best of the local options. Very quite & characterless interior so we opted to eat outside and sat at the front of the pub. We both had sandwiches which were freshly made and nicely presented – they did the job but were nothing to write home about and wouldn’t tempt us to return for something more substantial.

We come here often as a family, grandparent, parents, kids, friends... They are very accommodating, the food is always good and plentiful and we have never had a bad experience. We live locally and feel very fortunate to be able to walk to a friendly, child appropriate restaurant and know that we will always enjoy our meal and time spent there.

Cant beat the Duke of York, best pub in Broseley. Traditional feel and not pretentious. with Martin and Ann are always welcoming. Food I haven't really explored other than a buffet or bowl of chips which have always been lovely. Would recommend over any other pub in the town.

We popped in to the Duke of York to get a pint and a bit of food before going to an event in Broseley. Not knowing the town we didn't know where to go and went to the Duke of York and we were glad we did. It was obviously a locals pub but very friendly and the beer was good. We were a bit concerned we wouldn't be able to get any food in time but when we said we were in a bit a of rush they made sure we were served quickly and the food was very nice too.

Last weekend we travelled up to Broseley in Shropshire to visit an old friend for a couple of days. On the first evening, Friday, we walked up through the town to the Duke of York pub for a meal. We'd been there before so we were looking forward to it and we were not disappointed. This is always a busy pub, Martyn & Ann run a very efficient ship, so while the bar can be crowded, the restaurant area is quiet and relaxing, putting the diner into just the right mood for the excellent food - all three of us had different dishes, so suffice it to say it was all beautifully cooked and served with friendly smiles. The people of Shropshire are the same - friendly and welcoming. Broseley is one of my favourite places away from home and with Ironbridge a few miles away, it's well worth a visit.

We stopped here at lunchtime on our way to Benthall Hall (NT). Although the décor and furnishings are very traditional and a bit battered it did feel cosy and the landlord was very welcoming. There was a choice of 4 cask ales on offer, in addition to the usual lagers, and the St. Austell Tribute was excellent (perfectly kept). The lunchtime menu was fairly typical but it offered a good choice of baked potatoes, sandwiches, paninis, fish & chips etc. The food was incredibly good value for the standard and quantity (although we would probably have preferred ordinary chips to twizzle chips with the sandwiches because they were very good). Those customers eating in the dining area, rather than the bar, certainly seemed to be enjoying their meals. If you don't mind a traditional pub then this is certainly somewhere to go, especially if you enjoy a good pint.

Ate here on Saturday night during the Broseley festival. Good range of ales to accompany the sizzling dishes which all four of us had. All very tasty & filling with good choice of sauces. Still had room for a pudding which was also very good. Service was very good on a busy evening.

Some friends were staying on a camp site at Benthall and wanted somewhere within walking distance to meet, so they booked a table for five at the DoY. We found a really welcoming proper pub - dart board in use, well behaved dogs in the bar, and a separate (but still in sight of the bar) dining area. Service friendly and efficient. We had a choice of excellent real ales, my wife praised her glass of chardonnay, and all the meals were tasty, hot, and good value. Not a bad word to say!

The Duke of York in Broseley, Shropshire, is one of eight eating and drinking licensed premises in Broseley. It is well maintained, excellent Hosts, and a very good menu, and in my opinion rates the top place to eat. Homely, locally sourced food, guest ales. Full marks to Ann & Martin who run the Pub and Restaurant. We held our wedding reception there last year - brilliant.

A warm welcome in this beautiful, cosy pub/restaurant. The food was fantastic, well cooked and of high quality. Plenty of choice from a main menu and superb specials on offer. The staff are friendly and efficient. A well run pub with happy staff. And clearly a very good chef…. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the evening too being given a warm welcome, plenty of fuss and a bonio! So lovely to be able to take your dog out with you when you go out to dinner. Thank you all at the Ragleth Inn.

Featured in the Good Pub Guide and popped in for a pint whilst staying in the area. An unpretentious 15th century pub, doggy friendly and an excellent real ale from a choice of six. A local brew from the Three Tuns brewery in Bishops Castle. Friendly crew and punters.🇬🇧🇳🇿
