Overriding impression is the pub is dirty, loads of beer choices but the glass and/or the beer smelt horrible. Do not bother, head for the Gun it's much cleaner and the staff are friendlier.

An awful pub. Staff were disgustingly rude, cannot believe how we were spoken too. Somebody else tried to say they were being rude and then they got spoken down to as well. Was our first visit and thankfully our last.

If I could give a 0 star I would ! I have been drinking in this pub for over 35 years . When you go to the loo and some stranger takes your seat you expect the staff to back you up not laugh ! The place no longer cares about the people paying their wages, we should have let it be demolished and redeveloped

Nice pub around the area. Lots of pubs in the area were very busy. Whereas here it had a good vibe. Places to sit. And friendly bar staff. Shoutout to Angie and Lily.

I used to love this pub. Last night I got charged for 3 drinks instead of 2. They said they couldn't give me a refund. Well that's rubbish for a start. If you have a card reader to take money that same card reader can refund you. They said write your bank details down we can do a transfer tomorrow. No I'm not writing my bank details down on a scrappy bit of paper thank you very much. They gave me a couple of drinks to take away after some back and forth. AVOID. Obviously trying to scam customers.

Almost everything about this pub is terrible. Music: reminded me of being in a continental cocktail bar - playing reggaeton and Ibiza chill. Just not on. Beer: this place has about 30 taps - all serving the most generic lagers and corporate craft. For some reason they have stuffed crisps along the top of the taps. Odd. Seating - all the high stools are for some reason also very low. Not a comfortable place to have a drink. Temperature: the pub is absolutely boiling - the bar staff have sweat running down their foreheads and reapplying deodorant Someone left the lid off the mulled wine pot so it belches out steam like a boozy sauna. Neon sign on wall that says “F**king Beautiful” 🥱 Decor: what was once a beautiful old heritage pub has been glammed up with the aforementioned neon sign, navy wall paint and exposed filament lighting. Sad to see. The kind of place that would be highly recommended by Topjaw. AVOID.

6 ladies on a visit from Birmingham for the weekend we found this little gem close to Spitalfields market Very friendly and welcoming and the staff were fabulous especially Lucciano who looked after us Highly recommend!

Great Guinness one of the best in London would highly recommend, will be back for some of the black stuff

I have been treated as a drunk when I was sober by the door man and when I called the manager instead of apologizing for their mistake, he defended his colleague. It could have been solved by a simple apology and maybe an invite but instead he was keeping excusing his colleague when he was seeing that it was a mistake . That’s what I call really low Hospitality . 8 years coming to this bar and I have never been treated like tonight . What a staff!! Really third class who doesn’t know how to treat their clients!! I left and my night was ruined .

This is a really great boozer! Always a warm welcome and they have such a good selection of beers and wines, the house wine is very descent. All the bar staff are extremely knowledgeable on their drinks, one member of staff in particular , We think his name is Phillipo was so attentive, friendly and welcoming. Made our visit such a pleasant experience. They also have a really good covered our door area. We will definitely be back!

The nostalgic amongst us were thrilled to hear that the Duke was reopening having signed petitions to support it before developers tried to rob the community of a decent pub. For decent, read average beer (Guinness was good, everything else on a scale from pot luck to average) sticky floor, careless lighting and at best impatient/ambivalent services. In its latest iteration the pub appeared soulless and gentrified. Nostalgia clouded our view but proximity kept us coming. Over time however, it dawned. The Nuke (New Duke) was staffed by a couple of hard working Italians who delivered exactly what a regular customer wanted. Friendly service, intuitive approach to what a customer likes, a friendly face after a hard days work and most of all a feeling that you were valued, which compensated for almost eye watering prices. Thank you Kevin and Martina. You are what makes the Duke tick. I hope you are valued as employees as I am sure you would be very hard/impossible to replace. Thank you for looking after us so well and making it easy to come back over and over again.

The refurbishment has been good and the open space at the back of the pub, with umbrellas is good for those who want to drink outside and smoke. Rather spacious outdoor area. Bartender Kirill is warm and welcoming, well groomed and smart. Barmaid Martina is very charming and friendly. Beautiful gal. I wonder if the staff have been hired for their looks?! Managers Miri & Olivier are professional, friendly, courteous and polite. With a welcoming atmosphere and laid back and friendly vibe, I'm not surprised by the popularity of this pub, among locals. I rarely visit pubs but this is one of the very few I visit and it's basically my local. I always bump in to locals here. And that's not just residents. Staff who work in other pubs and restaurants also frequent this place. If you live in and/or work in Spitalfields, or are visiting, do visit this pub.

We went on a Saturday afternoon at 5pm. The place was empty with only one other person. We got told to leave because we had a baby with us. The baby was only 7 months old. Terrible. I have never been treated so badly. I will never go here again and will advise friends to stay clear!

Manager had a real issue with us having a baby with us. Ending up telling us we couldn't stay. I get no children rules but this was a babe in arms on a Saturday afternoon - why let us in in the first place? Man on a power trip with anger issues.

We visited this pub on our tour of Spitalfields Market while on a trip to London. After selcting our drinks my partner went to pay only to be told by both the bar staff that they would not accept our £20 note. Apparently the owner has them on strict instruction not to accept any Scottish bank notes due to forgery. I didn't realise that forgers we so selective that the only forged scottish bank notes.

Stumbled across this pub as I needed the toilet but after a couple of pints and a break in between I ended up staying all night. Friendly service, really good choice of beers and a pleasant atmosphere, a nice hidden gem off the beaten track.

Very authentic place with large of beers on tap. I love all pale ales they offered me. The staff is very friendly and patient (as I ask questions about beer). Food is also good - nice sharing platters for a few persons and delicious roasted leg of lamb. Vegan dishes also available. Very nice ambiance and good music.

Good pub, has a huge amount of beer selection on tap. Not a particularly cosy pub and has lost the traditional element but still a nice place.

Personal agradable.Colega tenía un par de Guinness mientras yo tenía algunos jugos de frutas.Un buen pub en una buena ubicación.

La renovación se ve muy bien, y el pub tiene un ambiente agradable con muchas buenas cervezas de barril. Pero 5. 80 por una pinta de Amstel es alto incluso para esta área de Londres. La cerveza más barata es 5. 50Mejor caminar más lejos a Williams Ale & Cider House o Kings Stores.No volveré

¡Estoy muy feliz de ver esta excelente casa pública de vuelta en el negocio! Ahora tiene una excelente gama / selección de cervezas de barril y una decoración muy peculiar que se adapta maravillosamente al carácter de su entorno. Sería bueno si el pub pudiera tener un par de pantallas de TV y mostrar los deportes, ¡pero el jardín de la cerveza y todo el lugar han sido un placer! Definitivamente vale la pena una visita y que el DOW continúe por mucho tiempo . .

Pub tradicional antiguo en Londres, cerca de la estación de Liverpool Street.Bastante oscura y dinghy dentro. Sadly this is one of a dying breed. It's a traditional Eastend pub slightly off the main trendy parts of Spitalfields. Beer is well kept. Friendly atmosphere.

If you want an off the beaten path pub in London, this is the place. It has a nice beer garden and friendly staff.
