NEVER GO HERE!!!! Horrible HORRIBLE owners. We have been here 2 times prior to this event singing at the open mic night on Tuesday. I just had a horrible experience getting kicked out for going into a cubicle with my friend at 8pm (on a Tuesday) as two 18 year old girls, with my mum and her friends. They aggressively kicked us out and made a scene and accused us of illicit activities. Firstly the guy was peeking in the toilet to see if we were going in a cubicle together and then the other female owner banged on the cubicle door repeatedly frightening us as we were using the toilet. There was no policy signs at all and this was a shock to all as we were there to perform for an open mic. Plus we were a group of women and had paid and bought drinks about 5 minutes prior to this.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, EXTREMELY RUDE, I was there tonight with my friend (17 and 18), her mother and her mothers friends for an open mic ( that we have done before) my friend and I then went to the toilet, the owner then started banging on our toilet door yelling at us to GET OUT so we left and she continued to be aggressive, we then went back to our drinks, we were then approached by a male owner and we’re shouted at further, to get out and that we were doing illicit things in the cubical, he then stood by the door and aggressively shouted at us to leave, this was a horrific experience, the land Lord and lady are extremely rude and aggressive and I will never be going back.

As usual this place has a good selection of lovely ales and really friendly nice staff, well worth a visit or booking table for the live entertainment

Here tonight but couldn't get served. Watched as bloke after bloke got served even though I was there first. Even served the bloke behind me and he was passing his tenner by my ear and I'm standing front at the bar. I spoke up and said loudly 'are you a sexist pub'. I then got served. Yeh come on guys this ain't 1950s

Great pub. Wide range of beer and some good ciders. No food, so be aware you would need to get this elsewhere - you are allowed to eat it in the pub though.

Nice to know that their are still honest and trust worthy people about. My sister in law lost her debit card in the Wellington it was found on the floor. They immediately took steps to find who the card belonged to and to get it returned. In no time at all her son was able to collect the card from the pub and reunite it to his mum. Not only that they serve good ales and its friendly and welcoming with probably the best prices in the area.

My review is more about a man who works in there who I want to give a 5⭐️ to… he helped my partner who was having a diabetic episode in shoreham, he stayed with him and gave him a drink and some chocolate to help his blood sugar levels go back up and didn’t leave him till he knew he was better a big thank you to that man

Sadly this pub has become a kindergarten. Kids running around, shouting and screaming. Having picnics!!! Lost its charm.

It was just a short stop on a Sunday afternoon, but it was very nice. Liked the outdoor space with the log fire. There's a heater also in the other sheltered outdoor area, also protected from wind and rain. Nice brews. Dog friendly (it was like Battersea in there! 😀). Lively and welcoming. 👌

Best pub in Shoreham-by-sea. A fantastic selection of beer at very reasonable prices. At my last visit it had around 8 cask beers (pales, stouts, IPAS, a slightly odd one and a delicious pale that is brewed exclusively for the pub). They also have keg beers. A highlight is the wheat beer. They serve everything in appropriate glassware. The vibe of the place is relaxed and friendly, it's a "proper" pub with a mix of ages and drunk levels! It's USP is the live music which is most nights, the beer garden is also lovely.

One of the best real pubs in the South East, superb and friendly staff, amazing beers, and an extraordinary atmosphere. Garden is fabulous too.

Excellent pub full of atmosphere and old school charm. Amazing band called Grooves Inc played a soul based old school covers set in the afternoon. Definitely worth checking out.

Fantastic music pub, great range of drinks, very friendly and efficient staff. Superb atmosphere either inside to enjoy many various bands, or outside in the lovely practical garden, huge amount of seating, some under roofing in little snugs. Definitely a must for anyone who wants to meet different people in a great setting with a bit of humour and individuality.

Some pubs are just that - a pub. The Welly is on a different level - it's family: It's at the heart of our local community!

Just a great pub. What more can you say? Well if pushed, the chap behind the bar was quite amusing with his little quips he was making. The beer selection is next level too. A vast selection of cask and all the keg is a diverse and interesting selection, some of which rotate. Anything from St Bernadus to Saxon or even Zyweic from Poland. No household names here which is great. The prices are exceptional versus the quality on offer. I wish this place was nearer home :( There’s a billiards table too and a lovely outside area to boot. Got beaten to the bar by a boxer dog, but it’s all in the name of science! The best pub in Shoreham if not West Sussex in my view.

First time back in 8+ years and I was underwhelmed by the service and drinks selection - there's no longer a choice of proper cider and the beer selection is vastly diminished. I guess Dark Star set a rather high bar! It was busy but they had so many bar staff I don't understand how they were so awful about serving people in some kind of organised manner. Still, it's the Duke and it'll always have a place in my heart as I've been drinking there for over 20 years. And I must say the addition of a second ladies toilet was a very nice surprise! About freaking time!

Fantastic pub with friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We went for the open mic night (Tuesdays from 8:30) which attracts lots of different acts. We were super impressed by the range of talent and warm welcome offered by staff and locals. We will definitely be going back! Highly recommended!

What a fantastic pub. Great beer selection, atmosphere was warm, friendly and welcoming. It's got a proper anarchic charm. A gem in what is a slightly odd town.

Miles better than the last time we were all there. No more licking butter off the knife and putting it back in the butter.

First time here. Sunday afternoon in the garden with live music and quality ales. I returned on a Friday late afternoon and it had a nice vibe in there. £4 a pint was a pleasant surprise.

Got to be my favourite pub in Sussex. Great beer huge selection, good prices and a really nice atmosphere. Is give it 6 stars if I could.

We went to the Welly for New years Eve. The staff are adorable and the clientele are just lovely. The prices of drinks are beyond bonkersly low compared to other bars. They allow dogs. I mean seriously this is a lovely place to visit. Go and enjoy. Also the music is great. Literally everyone is welcome and more than that they feel welcomed. I’m going back soon.

From a beer perspective, there's a big range to choose from. Although, I'm sure the beer selection was better say 5 or 6 years ago. They have music here on a Friday night so don't come if you are intending on having a quiet conversation. However, the music seemed popular and the pub was quite lively.

What a fun creative place! Found it by accident- lovely garden space. Such friendly people. Ended up staying till close watching a fabulous band! Will be back for sure.

I would suggest that, if that is the case. You tell your Bar staff. A very pleasant lady. Working the garden bar. Who refused the Man in front of me. Then refused cash. When I asked. This was Saturday Afternoon.
