Beautiful restaurant. Happy hour selections are very good. I recommend the flat bread with roasted vegetables, feta and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Lemondrop martini was delicious.

Went for a birthday dinner and it was delightful. The food was excellent, the service phenomenal, and the company delightful. The only downside was how close and loud it felt. It was a VERY busy Saturday in KC. Never a bad bite of food. Great place for a birthday dinner.

It was my first time here. Great atmosphere, great staff. Service: So I ordered fried buttermilk chicken and was brought chicken Al Pastor Ben the waiter caught his mistake and took accountability and brought out the dish I ordered but, I still had to wait another 10 to 15 min while my table was eating their dishes. Once it arrived, the dish was pretty good. The manager apologized, but I would've liked at least the offer of a free dessert or appetizer for the wait. However, overall, 3 stars and I will be back to them a second chance to be great 😃

This continues to be one of our favorite national chain restaurants around. The food is always delicious. And the service is typically spot-on, though this time it took a fair amount of time for us to get our meals, hence the deduction of a star for service.

Made a reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday. Food was really good (steak, lobster bisque, salmon). Server was extremely dull. (didn’t wish my bf a happy birthday, didn’t smile, made us seem like a bother at times.) Music was also kind of weird (country/ rock/ then slow songs lol). We might be back but we’d hope for better service!

I was truly disappointed with the experience I had dining here. The food was mediocre at best, but what really stood out was the behavior of the manager, Nicole. She treated her employees horribly, speaking to them in a condescending and disrespectful manner. It was uncomfortable to witness, and it really ruined the whole dining experience. The staff seemed overworked and unhappy. No one should have to work in such a toxic environment, and no customer should have to endure this kind of energy when dining out. Although the service was pretty good thanks to the server, everything else was very underwhelming. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Picked McCormick & Schmick's for our Anniversary dinner, and couldn't have been more pleased! We started off with fried calamari and a jumbo shrimp cocktail. The calamari was prepared to perfection, and tossed in a wonderful dressing that was at once both sweet, with a surprising spicy "bite"! The shrimp cocktail was everything I'd been dreaming of when I ordered it! A special drink was featured on the menu, as "Experimental", and called "Aromatized & Smoked". Made with bourbon, vermouth, and a touch of cherry syrup, then infused with smoke (at your table), this treat exploded with an amalgam of wonderful flavors, and was a real highlight during our meal! (Note: ONE IS ENOUGH!!) My wife enjoyed a red wine with her meal, and found it quite satisfying. I ordered a center cut filet mignon, and my Darlin' opted for salmon, stuffed with both crab and shrimp, both entrees accompanied by creamy, flavorful mashed potatoes, and roasted asparagus, both far beyond our expectations! My filet was cooked to juicy medium-rare perfection, and was both wonderfully flavored, and tender enough to cut with my fork, and her stuffed salmon was delightful; a dish I will be sure to order during our next visit! By the time we had finished our meal, we had NO room for dessert, so we opted to take a Chocolate Bag home to enjoy later. Our server, Julian, was the very picture of attentive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable, and blessed with perfect timing. Being served by Julian only added to our fabulous evening, accented by his accurate recommendations, pleasant demeanor, and little perks, like the little "VIP" tent he placed on our table, as well as the "Happy Anniversary" sampling of the sweet, creamy/crunchy creme brulee. He shared our enthusiasm at celebrating our Anniversary, and definitely made our fun night out even better! All told, our visit was flawless, and we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered that our bill was considerably less than we had expected to pay! We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Stopped in for dinner and drinks. We ate at the bar. Their cocktails were the best I’ve had! We had a fantastic bartender! Jaysen was very attentive. He made our evening with his friendly personality and excellent service!!

Anoushka is incredible and her food is to die for! Always fresh, competitive prices and a beautiful selection. Have eaten here 20 times never had a bad meal would recommend to anyone. The care and love she shows my special needs daughter Esme is incredible she always checks on her, looks after her and speaks to her like a human to see how her schoool day has gone. Please visit here and give your money to a hard working local mother who not only sells beautifully tasting food but has an incredible heart.

We used to eat here all the time but had quit going out for a while. I felt like a lobster though and I liked their lobster. Unfortunately, the food was not that great. The bread had a stale, yeasty smell and taste. And my husband got the chicken pastor and it was dry, overcooked and seemed like it was old. And he said the sauce for it was inedible and the chicken itself had weird spices one of them being cinnamon. The lobster, also a bit overdone, was good, but I am easy to please when it comes to lobster and this was a nice sized tail with a light butter sauce. The service was slow and not as attentive as we like. All in all, I am not sure if we would come back. I would come back for the lobster but my husband doesn't like anything they do, well enough to get. So it is kind of a bust for him which makes it not a good fit for us. It is too bad because we used to come here all the time and it is a beautiful restaurant.

We typically love this place... but our experience last night was horrible. They have 100% lost their edge. The service was SLOW. Took forever to get our drinks... then the debacle on a smoked old fashioned... they smoked the glass without we cocktail? They were out of scallops early on a Saturday night? Then the waitress spent half the night trying to upsell some rewards program for Landry's? We almost had to beg for a second round of drinks. This used to be a premier restaurant on the Plaze... not anymore. Even the soap despenser in the bathroom was empty? Such a disappointment.

Once they sat our party, it was a while before anyone took our order. We did get drinks eventually and some bread, but no one took our order for two more hours. When the food came out, some of it was cold and some of it was good. They were just so busy that we weren’t able to have a good experience. It was my friends birthday and they offered her a birthday dessert for free but ended up charging her for it. Because the time between talking with our server was so long, we didn’t want to wait for them to fix it. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was busy. I don’t see any reason to go back.

I was here in December waitress spilled wine on my pants. Tried to get stain out would not come out went down to McCormick they said I would have to fill out paperwork and for it to go to corporate. It is over 2 months I have called and am still waiting. The waitress did replace the glass of wine but that was all that was done. I have always loved eating here but very disappointed that they did nothing for a pair of pants that were completely ruined they did offer me club soda to take it out but I really didn’t not want to be soaked it was a cold night just saying very disappointed by this restaurant

We dined here for restaurant week, knowing it would likely be more busy that normal but the service combined with kitchen mistakes took away from everything. Kitchen- we had a food allergy and everything had to be made 2x or more. The gentleman behind us had undercooked fish come out “looking like it’s straight out of the Missouri River”. Cesar salad was overloaded with garlic, no one at the table could stomach it. Steak ordered medium came out med rare. Service- none of our food came out at the same time and the server kept needing reminded of what else we needed. Our 3 course meal that we ordered everything at the beginning took over 3 hours to get through because of slow service and kitchen mistakes. When someone ordered a spoon for dessert, it took over 5 minutes to come back with a spoon. When our checks were dropped off, an employee helping set tables up for the next day (because it was so late) had to go back and get our server from the back (I watched because we were antsy to leave) to tell her to come pick up our checks. The manager helping resolve the kitchen issues was obviously trying to make it better at our table and the one behind us, but it does not excuse the kitchen errors and terribly slow, disorganized service.

The food and service was amazing

Had a reservation for new years eve. Got sat 40min after our reservation. They were packed. The food was exceptional. The calamari with the oriental sauce is to die for. Bread super soft. I had the grilled chicken and it was superb. Everyone at our table got something different and all of it was delicious.

Our server failed in refilling our water glasses; plus did not bring our salads until our entrees arrived. When attempting to pay bill, did not include an itemized bill until we asked for it. Overall, M&S has declined in menu offering and quality below Red Lobster. Our last time to dine there & I suppose they are close to shutting their doors soon. Too bad for what we used to consider an outstanding fish & entertainment establishment. SO SAD!!!

We recently dined at McCormick & Schmick’s for the first time, on our anniversary dinner, and it was an incredibly frustrating experience. From the moment we arrived, the wait time was absurdly long. There were plenty of open tables, yet we sat in the lobby for near a half-hour, despite having a reservation. The hostess was very friendly, but once seated, it took ages for our server to appear, and when Augustin finally did, he was awkward and seemed completely disinterested in offering any kind of decent service. We asked a question about the portion sizing of the shareable appetizers, and we were met with an awkward laugh and a simple "yeah." Things only got worse when Augustin actually walked away in the middle of us asking questions, to visit another table. Leaving us confused, and unsure if we should wait or flag him down again. To make matters worse, neighboring tables shared similar complaints with us. One table was handed steak knives over their heads while Augustin made a snarky comment about how the table guests should hve been more "helpful." It was uncomfortable for everyone around, that left their enitre table making faces to each other, and us. I'm generally a very generous tipper and enjoy supporting service industry workers, as I've been there myself. This experience was so abysmal— with no communication and interminable wait times (it wasn't just the entree, it was everything, from waiting for the bill to waiting for drink refills)—that I couldn’t bring myself to leave a tip that reflected the usual level of appreciation I have. For instance, Augustin strolled by our table four times after being asked to refill our drinks, after telling us that they'd be right out. There was very little communication regarding long wait times (a simple, "I'm so sorry for the wait, we're a little backed up in the kitchen, etc.). From the time of ordering (just our entrees), it was almost an hour and a half. For the meal price of $133, I expected much better service, but instead, it felt more like a fast-food joint. The food itself was of a good quality, and we enjoyed everything we ate, but the poor service completely overshadowed the entire experience. What was supposed to be a romantic anniversary dinner turned into an awkward waiting game. We gave McCormick & Schmick's a chance after admiring the beautiful building it is housed in, and decided to switch up from our usual anniversiery spot, Pierpont's at Union Station. This expereince left us genuinely wishing that we were at Pierpont's, where we have experienced excellent service. We will not be returning to this location, as it's not worth the price tag. When you're treated like an inconvenience instead of a valued customer, everyone loses.

Came in with party of 15 to celebrate my nieces 19th birthday the food was spectacular I cannot debate that I order crab cake filet mignon that served with mash potatoes and some type of asparagus added fried shrimp and spinach my complaint was with lack of service they assigned one waiter to our table and we were seated directly by kitchen wall separating us so it’s no reason we weren’t properly accommodated with refills or free bread they offer spent about we’ll over 1,000 dollars and due to party size tips were already included so I’m not sure why gentleman wasn’t more accommodating maybe the waiter should have additional help for bigger party size

My daughter and I shared a wonderful early New Year ahead on the Plaza with dinner here. Drinks before were really good and the food overall was really good. Our shrimp kisses came to the table literally minutes after we ordered. You could tell they were sitting under the warming lights for too long but the rest of the meal was great. Chocolate bag to go and enjoy in our hotel room. Starting a new family tradition!

Our server was excellent. Food was only par, i had the sword fish, it was good but not great. A little disappointed in the lack of roasted red pepper and bacon, should read a "hint of" not "topped with". Wife had breaded shrimp, she said they lacked seasoning in the breading. Waiter apologized for the food taking so long, 'kitchenhed had an issue'. Food definitely reflected that.

I've been to many "fancy," restaurants that have a dress code, e.g., Privee, Prime Social, etc. The previous restaurants mentioned have excellent food and are worth the effort. However, not all "fancy" restaurants, dress code or not, have great food, some are actually pretty terrible and them saying their food is art is like me saying my dog's paw painting is unique and therefore valuable; BS. Mccormick & Schmick's is a wonderful upscale restaurant with delicious food 😋!! and the young lady who attended our party of 4 was outstanding; awesome service and a beautiful atmosphere. Thank you M&S's for a great visit.

Overpriced steaks. You eat here for the look of the food, not necessarily the flavor. Texas Roadhouse is way better imo.

I hate to write unfavorable reviews and my record shows, I've written very few. However, in this case, I feel obligated to help people avoid a bad dining experience. We dine out often; typically four to five dinners per week with at least one being fine dining. Since we favor locally owned restaurants, we had not been to McCormick & Schmick's for quite a while and we excited when invited to a dinner party for 10 there on November 9, 2024. It was a horrifically bad experience. We arrived early, so went to the bar where the hostess said she would get us when the party arrived. We ordered two drinks, Vodka Press (house Vodka) and a Tanguary and Tonic. When a member from the party found us, the party had been seated for at least five minutes (no hostess alert as promised), so I didn't want to question the tab for $30.50, but I'm confident we were over-charged by the rather rude and inefficient bar tender. Dinner service was terrible and the waitress came across as though she was doing us favors when she occasionally dropped by our table - even getting a water refill was an ordeal. Silverware was missing and never brought to the table, entrees were not described correctly, bread that was promised with salads was never delivered, and so on. Simply bad service from every aspect. Eight of the party had various cuts of steak and no one was particularly happy - bar steak quality at best. One guest ordered the center cut fillet mginon and was served a rib eye. When the waitress was questioned, she claimed he ordered the center cut rib eye. Since we waited too long for the entrees, he decided to choke down what was in no way a 14 ounce cut that was tough, not very flavorful and smothered in some sort of sauce. My wife had seafood pasta. The pasta was over-cooked as was the seafood - tough and lacking flavor. I had the sea bass, which is a common choice for me. It was cooked correctly, but lacked flavor and was smothered in the worst ponzu sauce I've ever tasted. I did my best to carefully keep it away from the sauce, but there was so much it was difficult. The noodles were terrible. When serving deserts, the waitress brought the two who ordered ice cream large serving spoons and never responded to the request for desert spoons. We ordered the "chocolate bag," which is promoted as the chef's favorite. We also asked for spoons that we never got, but after a long wait, we were given two forks. It was a pitiful excuse for a special desert. The dark chocolate was okay, but what was supposed to be a white chocolate filling was whipped cream and there was only a small scattering of fresh berries. Do yourself a favor. There are many fine restaurants in Kansas City. This is not one of them - it is a huge disappointment in every aspect. Please note: While the restaurant responded to this review and invited me to write. I wrote twice and have not received a reply. Do yourself a favor and patronize a locally owned restaurant.

Perks..... I got the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken was moist, full of flavor and went well with the creamy potatoes! For dessert I got the apple pie and ice cream. The apple pie had candy almonds which actual was a nice surprise. The atmosphere was great. We went there for a friend birthday. I made a reservation and was able to get seated right away upon arriving. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Cons... I ordered a Mai Tai and when it came it out, it definitely was not made correctly. Finally, we were eating dessert when a different server lost balance of a tray of drink and they literally fell and broke all under my seat and table. My skirt was soaked. My friend and I carefully got up as there was glass everywhere and moved to the side while they cleaned up. Unfortunately, by the time we sat back down my ice cream was completely melted. Now non of those cons are what I deducted a start for, the part that I actually felt they lost a point on was at NO point during the tray breaking, clean up, or after did a manager come to verify we were ok. AND when we got our bill there was no discount for our trouble or not actually getting to eat our dessert. Mind you we did end mentioning this to the server and he did end up giving a 10% discount. Still no manager... :(

Do not order the raw oysters!! I got very sick from eating the raw oysters here. It was disgusting -- use your imagination. Everything else about the restaurant was very nice. Our waitress was the sweetest nicest person ever. Good location and great service. Just a PSA -- avoid the raw oysters and your visit will probably be fine.

We are here in KC for a Chiefs game and we wanted to have a nice restaurant to eat at one of our nights and we were not disappointed! Every single thing everyone got was absolutely delicious. We ended up getting the Chinese chicken salad, the grilled cheese and soup, the stuffed salmon, and the clam chowder. Everything was so delicious and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. My mom and I split the Chinese chicken salad so this is just a half portion and everything was perfect. 10/10!

I sat outside for lunch. It's a nice rooftop. My waitress was really pleasant. I ordered the chicken Alfredo. It was really good, and the Alfredo sauce was creamy. I thought I should've had some bread with my dish. This resturant is located in a shopping district so it was nice to visit the different shops within the area.

Fete N Lime provided the catering for my mum in laws wake at Tribes in Shoreham.... The food and service is quite outstanding. We went for the afternoon tea option and everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was so impressed by the quality of the food. Every single item was delicious. Anouska and her team should be very proud of the service they offer.... Well done and thank you so much !!

We had a lovely dinner at McCormick & Schmick's in KC. I appreciated the attention to detail from our server and our food was delicious. (I had Lobster Carbonara and my date had Buttermilk Fried Shrimp.) But despite a reservation - the host staff was ovewhelmed and it took over 10 minutes to get to our table. One other constructive comment: the speakers over the booths are too loud. Doesn't go with fine dining vibe. Overall - very good.

Very good restaurant, from amazing customer service on the phone to the phenomenon waiters this is a place to go when looking for a nice restaurant, only cons were truffle Mac and cheese came out a lil cold and wasn’t the best , but all the other food was so phenomal I wouldn’t complain the chicle bag and seafood pasta are to die for , and the only other slight con was the kitchen being close to some tables causing a little bit of noice but again all the other pros made it worth it , server was very nice and effect and everyone enjoyed most their food

I recently dined at McCormick & Schmick's in Kansas City, and I was very impressed! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a nice night out. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made sure everything was just right. I ordered the salmon, and it was cooked perfectly—so fresh and flavorful! The menu had a great selection, especially for seafood lovers, but there were options for everyone. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but for the quality of the food and experience, I felt it was worth it. I’ll definitely be back, and I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a nice place to celebrate a special occasion or just treat themselves to a lovely meal.

The food was amazing as well as the service. I felt like I had a private dining experience in a public setting and had wonderful recommendations for the types of dinners we were observing. Annie and LT did a phenomenal job serving us and the cooks made a fantastic meal. We did the three-course anniversary meal and it was well priced and delicious. Me and my girlfriend celebrated our 5 year anniversary here. Staff was extremely exceptional, service was amazing, food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing. Great servers. They had happy 5 anniversary on our menu which was a great touch as well as on our desert. Definitely coming back soon.

As frequent visitors of your Kansas City location, my family and I have always enjoyed our dining experiences. However, our visit on 9/21 was an exception. My parents and I were seated outside on the patio, as requested, but shortly after we settled in, a waitress on the patio abruptly told us to move. She explained that someone had been sitting at the table before us and had left due to an emergency with their dog. However, the way she communicated this was rude and unprofessional, with no indication that the table was previously occupied. While we had no issue moving to another table, her tone and approach were unnecessarily harsh. Feeling uncomfortable, we went inside to request a table in the bar area, where the always-wonderful Russell accommodated us, as he has done on previous visits. As we waited for our new table and chatted amongst ourselves, the same young lady passed by and suddenly stopped, asking us, "Are you talking about me?" in a confrontational tone, which was completely inappropriate. We also noticed her pointing us out to other staff members, making the situation even more uncomfortable. Just as we were about to leave due to how unwelcome we felt, the manager on duty encouraged us to stay, assuring us we could still enjoy our meal. While we appreciated her kindness and chose to stay, the experience with the young lady left us feeling disappointed and disheartened. We’ve always loved coming to M&S, but this encounter has made us hesitant to return. I'd also like to add that the table on the patio remained unoccupied the whole time we were there. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the server’s name, but she was a Caucasian woman with short blonde hair and a tattoo on the back of her neck. We never received an apology for how we were treated, which added to our frustration.

Lobster and Shrimp roll was light and tasty. Shoestring fries are overseasoned imo causing them to be crazy salty. The clam chowder is always great. Fresh squeeze juice in the drinks.

This place has gone down hill/better off at other places on the plaza. 8$ per scallop, not even bourbon bacon glazed. Chemical taste. Waiting for food 30 min. Waiting for drinks 30 min. Red fish good, steak good. Lobster mediocre, Mac good, 4 people 400+$, muscles were great. Stair picture the best part of the place.

We didn’t eat in - we had the delicious grazing boards which were utterly amazing along with some mini sweet treats too all super tasty and looked amazing - we were so pleased and will definitely be using lime n Feta again it was all beautifully made to good quality my whole family and friends loved it all for my daughters leaving do to Madrid.

Anouska provided absolutely outstanding grazing boards and deserts, the service can not be faulted in any way, and the food was so so yummy, we had a family function at home with around 40 people attending, not one single person said anything bad about the food the feed back from guests was only positive feedback, will 100000% be using anouska brilliant service again! I had the ribeye, which was good and appropriately cooked to my liking, but I feel it lacked sufficient seasonings. It was still good, but I set higher expectations when paying that much for a steak. Lisa was an outstanding waitress, had an amazing positive attitude, and was always available to provide quick service for a table of 14 guests.

Food was amazing and arrived at our table much quicker than expected. The shrimp kisses appetizer was just absolutely delicious and the crab and shrimp stuffed salmon was the best I’ve had in KC. We will definitely be returning.

I remember this place being better than our most recent visit. It seems to be going the same direction as the rest of the Plaza. While our waitress was nice and provided good service, the atmosphere was pretty basic and the food quality should have been higher. Our appetizers (shrimp kiss) tasted like they were warmed up frozen food. I think the kitchen was having issues getting bread out to all of the tables. Our entrees were okay but not amazing. Left us feeling overall disappointed in our choice for a birthday celebration.

Salad was bad, bread was bad, scallops were ok, you get 4 for 46.00. The cole slaw was horrible, chicken sandwich had no taste, and you get a better hamburger at casual theme

Food was delightful and filling. "The best salmon I've ever had" - my 10 year old. Caesar salad is divine as well as the calamari. Mac n cheese was a bit dryer than I personally like but that's my only remark about food opportunity areas. Service was initially a slow start, especially for as slow as the restaurant was, but once we got our server, everything was great thereafter.

It was my wife's birthday n she wanted to go to Mccormicks. We made a reservation. We ordered crispy asian calamari, Maine lobster bisque, kids chicken tenders, ribeye, Chilean seabass in meso soup, lobster n shrimp stuffed salmon. Calamari was average at best. Kids' tender was really salty. Ribeye wasn't cooked evenly. The center was raw n the sides were medium well when we asked for medium. Lobster n shrimp stuffing felt like crab cake fillers. Salmon was ok. Sea bass was decent, but the miso soup was average. Before we placed our order, we clarified with the server that our son has allergies to all types of nuts n sesame seeds n oil. She went and asked the chef n said the Chilean bass with miso soup had no sesame seeds. This dish was ordered by our son. In a few minutes of eating the sea bass, he started complaining that he was choking n unable to swallow. We immediately brought it to the servers attention n the manager showed up after a long time, assuring us that there were no sesame seeds or nuts. We left with the leftovers n got home n when we went through the miso soup; Guess what it had! sesame seeds!! You can clearly look at the last picture. My wife called the restaurant the very next day n some other manager answered n assured us she will take it to corporate n we would get a call. It's been 10 days, no call or any email correspondence! Terrible communication n customer service. This could have been a life n death situation. The manager lied to our face, n so did the server.

The food is just okay. Mostly fish or steak options. Very limited vegetarian options. Chocolate box dessert is always a hit

I made a callin order and the Gm hung up in my face like that not coo man very unprofessional so Faith called me back and took my order now Faith has very good customer service skills. The GM does not.

My fiance and I took my Sister and Brother In-law to dinner Friday evening. The food was delicious as usual! We have never had a bad experience. The service we received from Mackenzie was impeccable she never missed a beat! We were having a celebratory dinner and she brought us a chocolate dessert with writing on the plate in raspberry sauce. We will definitely be back again!
