Great food, great portions and lovely staff

Charlotte looked after us and was exceptional, the care she gave our table was bar none. Wonderful food, the kitchen smashed it out as per usual.

Recommended this place whilst visiting from Bournemouth and were not disappointed. The decor is reflective of its beach location, all the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Our server Wendy looked after us and made us feel very welcome. We both had the waffles with berries and yogurt, the waffles were fresh and fluffy with cafe con leche and a mimiso made for a perfect breakfast. The dog was also especially pleased as she had a side order of sausage which she highly recommended. NOTE FOR OWNERS : PLEASE OPEN ANOTHER RESTAURANT IN BOSCOMBE/SOUTHBOURNE IN BOURNEMOUTH - WE WOULD LOVE YOU FOREVER!!!

We found this place on the internet and decided to drive 50 minutes to give it a crack as the reviews were good. We were not dissapointed. The full English was the best I've had for a long time. The toast was properly toasted (a rare treat in restaurants these days) and the coffee delicious. Staff were very efficient and friendly. And the atmosphere was really pleasant and they allow dogs in, which I think is a nice community spirited thing to do. I genuinely strongly recommend the place. A two minute walk away is a RingGo parking lot (39706) which is reasonably priced.

Brilliant food and service from Sophie .. very friendly and efficient :) Great view of the sea as a bonus ! Only draw back is the noise levels but it did get quieter as it got less busy .

Wendy took such good care of us - she was full of common sense, humour, generosity and advice. The food was delicious with satisfying portions and arrived swiftly.

On a windy May day the ability to grab a coffee to go was very welcome. Good service and it seemed very busy.

Very good mussel pot, a nice change from the usual wine based ones. Really great atmosphere. Might be a bit noisy for some but I enjoyed it. Sophie our waitress, was great and we didn't have to wait for food or drinks. Great venue by the beach in Lancing.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Perch (Lancing Beach) with my friend, brother and his little 4 year old girl last Tuesday. We were treated with incredible warmth and kindness and nothing was too much trouble for your lovely staff. We had brunch and coffees (I had the sweet waffle with fruit and yoghurt) which was DELICIOUS! Special mention to one of your waitresses, Sophie, who was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely be returning! ☺️

We had lunch at the lancing perch, we did not have a reservation, but Hanna got us a table. She recognised us from a previous visit and was very friendly. We are served by Sophie, wow what a bundle of fun. She made the experience great, very hard worker, and nothing was too much trouble. The food standard was excellent, totally enjoyed our meal. The whole staff worked like a real team, which was great to see, supporting one another and getting the jobs done. The tables were cleaned withing minutes of guest leaving. Well done, and as I said Sophie and Hanna are little stars.

Was there on Sunday .ordered food but they only did a mixed roast .it was disgusting. One chicken leg between two people. Two small slices of beef that looked raw. Small amount of roast potatoes.some gravy Cauliflower that was brick hard. Disgrace. Won't be back there 😡

We had a lovely meal in the Perch on Sunday. The mussels were excellent. The staff very efficient and there was a great atmosphere in there. Definitely will go again.

Very busy spot in lovely Lancing. Has British food. Ate breakfast. Tight quarters, good coffee, great views, good poached eggs. I had 2 very large mushrooms with poached egg. Too much food was on a plate for one, and a bit expensive. Service was fast, despite the crowd. Ocean right outside the window.

Great place, just can't understand why you would close so early on Friday and Saturday, there is money to be made into the later afternoon / early evening... 4pm close on Friday is confusing as we were going to spend money on an evening meal.

Lovely located smallish restaurant. I had a kilo of muscles in cider bacon & shallots with fries & bread £18.50, it's not a sharer but I found it could of been. It was lovely, so tasty. The service was friendly & competent. Didn't rush us even though the restaurant was closed (shuts at 4pm on Saturday) & we weren't the only ones.

What a lovely surprise finding a place like Perch; such a serene bit of the beach, a great space with fantastic views. We had the (Halloumi and Shrooms) breakfast which was really delicious and well cooked. All served with such a lovely smile and attitude, particularly Dionne and Wendy. We had a lovely chat and laugh with them, and some local tips as it was our first time in Lancing. We’ll be back - Highly recommend!

We had a great family get together at Perch. Managing our group of 20 with the usual suspects arriving late was never going to be easy but the staff were very helpful and flexible. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere in keeping with the great sea side location. Tasty food from traditional fish and chips to other classics with a twist. A couple of hours on the beach in the sun after lunch with some braving a quick dip. All in all a great day out. We may be back next year for the 93rd birthday reunion! Many thanks

Sophie was brilliant! A budding actress perhaps? She was quick and efficient and seemed genuinely pleased to help us. The food was great. Excellent black pudding. Bacon was smoked with a sweet aroma, perhaps too sweet for my personal preferences, but it was still delicious as were the eggs and bread. Great views, but a bit noisey, but if you’re as popular as it clearly was, that’s gonna happen. Finally, it’s great to get proper tea in a pot rather than some weak rubbish dangling from a limp tea bag.

Visited for breakfast, busy restaurant but with plenty of happy attentive and friendly staff! Great coffee, amazing food, the fried chicken waffle is highly recommended! Book in advance to avoid any disappointment, it's busy for a reason!

A warm welcome great food and super service

Open until 7pm but stop serving food at 3pm on a Sunday. Why?! Totally ridiculous. Response edited to reply to you: You need to train your Sunday staff then because at no point did the young lady mention 4pm Roast dinner option. This makes this even more frustrating for us as we would have had a drink and waited. Very odd. I am not sure whether your reply is correct or a show for those reading on Google.

Great location on the beach, always popular.

A nice and convenient cafe on the lancing beach if you want to grab a bite or drink. It's got both inside and outside seating areas in case it gets windy and chilly, as frequently is the case in UK beaches :) There are toiletsb here that's very welcome as I couldn't find any public toilets on the beach.

The main reason that Lancing is my second most visited parkrun (other than my local). There is nothing better than finishing a 5k, then heading to the Perch for one of their Monty breakfast baps and a fabulous coffee. And the Monty is by far the best breakfast bap I've come across - I'm always raving about it to fellow parkrunners. Sausage, bacon, egg, and rosti, in a beautifully toasted brioche bap - all you could want. I often pick up one of the brownies too - some delicious flavours on offer, including biscoff, kinder bueno, etc. Top that off with gorgeous views of the seafront right in front of you. On a sunny day, it really is stunning. You might even receive a visit from the starlings who must nest nearby, and you're serenaded by beautiful birdsong in exchange for a few crumbs from your plate. Ample parking for a reasonable price on the green too. Definitely a wonderful little gem, tucked away between Worthing and Brighton.

Tasty baps, breakfasts, and mussels... Coffee always served hot and has a wonderful aroma and taste.. Never rushed.... Wendy gave efficient, friendly, fun service.... Me and my dad are always well looked after. Views always amazing... It's our favourite place.. Thank you, Perch people!

“We enjoyed our evening. I would say it was 3.5 star experience but could easily have been a 5 star experience IF the kitchen team and the Chef attended to how hot the food and plates are when served. We found the food, whilst delicious and generous, was only tepid. The plates were also not hot. Serving the food on boards means that food needs to be piping hot and also the plates for the food to retain its heat. The fact that the food was tepid took the edge of the meal. We didn't want to disrupt the meal by sending the food back so said nothing at the time. Overall, we still enjoyed the experience. The service was friendly, the food is tasty and the view is uplifting”.

We regularly eat breakfast here and generally the food is good. However, today the full breakfast had inedible mushrooms, raw/ undercooked tomatoes and why they can’t serve scrambled eggs I simply don’t understand.

Lovely place to eat with a great view of the sea. The staff r friendly and the food was tasty.

It's always very busy here, especially on a sunny day, so it is sometimes hard to find inside seating but you can take away and sit on the beach so it doesn't matter. The food is great, service is friendly and even though it was very busy our food came out quickly and was delicious.

Lovely location looking out to the sea, great food at a decent price and all the staff are really friendly. Dog's are welcomed too.

Had seen this place praised often on social media, but felt quite let down was busy as expected due to the weekend and hols. Very noisy dirty toilets, dirty floors, and cutlery. Staff looked stressed and our booking couldn't be found, though, done online and card details taken.

Me and my husband Tym moved from Lancashire to West Sussex a few months ago. The Perch at Lancing is a favourite of ours. I actually avoid busy places a lot of the time ,but there is something about The Perch that allows me to relax even though it is busy . The ambience, sea views and attentive staff must be part of it. The Sunday roast sharing platter is perfect for us. We eat proportionally different amounts of a roast and yet there is no waste and this feels good in an age where wasting food is a bad thing all round. We took our dogs today as well. No problem and they settled and loved it, especially receiving some scraps of meat we gave them from the roast and the attention from others . The staff smile ( worth its weight in gold ) and the whole experience is just blissful . We love it and consider ourselves very lucky indeed. Thank you x Debbie

Always busy, which adds to a buzzy atmosphere. At busy times, wait for food and drinks can be long. Friendly atmosphere, though. Kid friendly and dog friendly.

Amazing food and friendly staff. I haven't lived in Lancing for 35 years...The Perch is a welcome addition to the seafront and is a huge difference from the Mermaid cafe that it replaced.

Have only been in twice and I can say amazing the young lady that seated us was so so bubbly and welcoming and both times served by Wendy what an asset these to ladies are to the perch I work in customer services Wendy was fabulous thank you ladies xxx I had the keran chicken burger with then my husband changed his mind and had the same after Wendy's recommendations to try the keran chicken he loved it Wendy came back to check on us she joked and was Awsome ❤️ from Emma 7th April

Visited yesterday for my sister's birthday. Had booked a window table. Had a coffee while we waited for it to become available. Ordered our food and drinks. Haloumi mushroom brunch dish was exceptional and the salmon bowl was delicious with lots of salmon. A very enjoyable visit.

As always it was a great experience. The food, staff and service were fantastic. Because it was Monday lunch it wasn't too busy and so we could talk quite easily. The one down side is the noise when it's busy. It's really hard to hear or be heard. Need soft furnishings to deaden the sound.

Dionne was great and looked after us really nocely; the food was great, thank you. We'll return!x

Booked on 8 February for Mothers Day paid £80 deposit. Today I asked for deposit to be taken off bill and was told they only hold the money they don’t take it unless we don’t turn up. So paid bill in full but as soon as I got home I checked statement they had taken £80 on 8 February as I said Rang them and one manager said it wasn’t their fault it was the system - no apology just refunded the £80. I said I had been embarrassed in front of family and wanted my tip back as they were not apologetic and didn’t own the problem. Put on to another Manager because they can’t refund my tip. Hayley has said Head Office will sort the tip refund tomorrow. I am a very unhappy customer, everyone please check your bill as they do take the deposit.

We had a lovely meal with friends at The Perch. The menu has a large selection to choose from. The staff are always very friendly, and nothing is to much trouble. The atmosphere is always good. The views are amazing. I love my trips to lancing. You can also order a takeaway when you are spending a lovely sunny day at the beach. My favourite has got to be the Fish and Chips. Also dog friendly. I love my visits to Lancing. Thank you

The food was delightful. We waited ages for a glass of water and eventually had to ask again. The staff were very friendly Ir was a great atmosphere

8 of us went for lunch, 6 different meals. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I had mussels and I haven't enjoyed a meal out more than this for a while. Absolutely superb, extremely satisfying. Loved it. It was pretty busy but the staff were on it. We were told that it was taking a bit longer to get the meals out because of that but it wasn't that much of a delay really. We like Perch. It's all good, the staff are lovely it's casual and relaxed, the food is excellent and it feels like you get good value too. 5 stars all round

Been here twice now for lunch after a lovely walk along the beach. Had the chicken bowl both times. OMG it's awesome. Service good, location nice. My son had the burger and said it's one of the best he's ever had! Visited in March '25. Terrible news! Why have they taken the Bang Bang Chicken off the menu? Not happy with that at all. Had the fish n chips, which was just, OK. :(

We liked the Perch in Worthing, but the Perch in Lancing is much better! Great atmosphere and the food was excellent (massive portion of smoked salmom!). The service was even better!

My first time to this lovely, dog friendly cafe literally on the beach. Plenty of tables but not squeezed in. Great food, many friendly staff providing service at the table. Pleasant background music. We will definitely go back. My advice would be to definitely book a table once the weather warms up, as this place is sure to be really popular.

We met friends here today and was really happy with our experience- we ordered just before closing of the menu ordering and our food still came out print and hot It was super delicious and really great value for what we paid. We had 2 Korean chicken burgers chips and sides with coffees and sparkling water for just under £40 - amazing! Sadly my puppy was ill whilst we sat chatting after our food and when I helped clean up the mess I was helped by a waitress and thanked. No drama no judgment just kindness Thankyou Thankyou for a lovely two hours
