Such a lovely pub landlady was so welcoming ! There was a roaring fire and my husband said one of the best points of Guinness he has had in Lichfield. Really worth a visit we will be back.

Visited here for drinks on Saturday and enjoyed it, place was pretty quiet, staff was nice and friendly, decent choice of drinks and good atmosphere. There is a large beer garden which is ideal for the kids and the pub is dog friendly, worth popping in for a drink.

Really enjoyed our lockdown takeaway pie and chips. Homemade gravy was delicious. Highly recommend this family-run pub.

Most relaxing atmosphere on Sundays. Bar staff, as always, sweet as a nut, well chilled. Great ales and ambience. Check out amazing beer garden it's really family oriented with trestle tables and it's a dogs' paradise even in the bar. Love, just love the Wellington Ale House.

I’ve been using this pub for over 20 years on and off. Many changes of hands, some good, some not so. It has always been a “beer” pub and at one point was the best in Lichfield. Well the beer is still very good and well kept. Staff are friendly and know what they are doing. However, one is greeted by the smell of fried food upon entering the place and it just hangs there. Better ventilation is needed in the kitchen as it really is off putting. All my clothes went straight in the wash when I got home. I will go back in a few weeks and see how it is.

Our favourite place for a drink in Lichfield. Great atmosphere and really friendly. Comfortable inside and when required a welcoming roaring fire. Great choice of unusual ales to try, perfect with the most amazing pizza. Always cooked perfectly with generous toppings, we love them.... Eat in or takeaway, great value. Outside an immense beer garden, both dogs and children made really welcome, so they have the ideal place to let off steam. Themed events are always great and there is a monthly quiz. The Wellington is the perfect place to meet friends and ensure you will have a great time.

I understand this had been refurbished recently and the decor and atmosphere is really good. The landlady was lovely and really friendly. The service was also good. They are limited on food but what we had was good. Mainly bar snacks available but some home made specials also in offer. Well worth a visit. They also show the footie too on various screens around the pub and there is also a large car park and beer garden.

Firstly, this place is under new management and has had a complete refurb. Now fresh and modern with a rustic twist, offering an eclectic range of reasonably priced ales. I attended on Sunday 11 March for the mothers day acoustic lunch. Three courses at £15 per head and a bottle of wine per table. I have to say it was incredible value for money and they could have charged far more. Indeed for a similar calibre meal I have paid double this, if not more. The menu was set, so not a huge selection but the portion sizes were HUGE and cooked to absolute perfection. I had beef and it was lovely and tender. Nikki Rous sang a chilled acoustic set which added a perfect ambience to the day. I was shocked and blown away by the event and although I'd recommend anyone to visit here for a drink, if they have any special events on its well worth the money so get a table booked!

On our monthly lads night out, we always start off at the Duke of Wellington, the beer is excellent, the atmosphere is brilliant, we could sit in comfort, chatting as a group of four, without having to shout. One of the group had the pie platter, which was the first time any of us have eaten at the pub. He feasted on the pie, thoroughly enjoying it. (No, he didn't share any).

This pub has been closed for a few months now. Can someone please gut it and bring it into the 20/21st Century. It wasn’t even quant, it was just a dump. This has the best beer garden in Lichfield but there was never a good reason to go there as it was so awful and depressing inside with little to no interesting (None usual Marston) beers.

I guess it all depends what you are looking for in a pub. This place is OK but it is dated, had manky loos and lacks general appeal. The beer though is great, the staff are very nice and it has a pool table which is rare in Lichfield.

A very welcoming pub. Always a good pint and nice to see Wye Valley beers in Lichfield. Also a nice open fire in the winter great to warm up if you've had a day outdoors.

This is a very average pub in need of some tlc to be honest. The landlord is pleasant and helpful, the beer is good but the place itself needs a complete overhaul. It is stuck in a time warp.

Travelled from the Black Country to meet family and was welcomed by smiling, happy staff serving my favourite ales from home. The beer was served perfectly and at a reasonable price too. I didn't want to leave. Will be visiting again very soon! Thank you.

What can I say.... wrong orders, food not cooked correctly and a very long wait. Customer service was seriously lacking. It wasn't even that busy in there. I don't know what they would if it got busy. On the plus side there is one member of staff that is on the ball. Let's just say she's in the minority.

Came to visit Nineteen during a short day trip. All staff were extremely supportive and helpful regarding the circumstances of our adult friend with autism visiting the cafe. All staff were extremely welcoming and thoughtful when supporting us during this visit, going above and beyond to meet any additional needs. Particular staff members even offered some treats/chocolate on the house (free of charge) to further support the vulnerable adult with us. The atmosphere was great and we felt very comfortable during our stay in the cafe. Food and drink options were lovely and the cakes were delicious. Unfortunately the cafe only accepts card payment. This was my first visit to Lichfield and Cafe Nineteen and we will definitely be returning.

Another Marston's Pub. I ordered the Mixed Grill. They did not have it. In my whole history of visiting Marston's pubs on only one occasion when I ordered the Mixed Grill did they have it. Is this a mythical menu item. The service was exceptional and the real ale was good. Food was standard chain pub grub.
