Dudu bar Nigerian Restaurant and Lounge in Luton

I went to Dudu bar in hightown luton and it was the best experience of my life no restaurant is better than Dudu bar!

Second time dining at this Nigerian(not sure if it is strictly Nigerian) restaurant and the it has been renovated since the first time we were there. Love the new look. The ambiance is welcoming and comfortable. The service is also quite good. The food is well presented with generous portions, but I must say, the food was tastier the first time I visited. Apart from the Jollof rice, which was really good, we weren't really impressed with the other two dishes. The Ayamashe was unusual.

This used to be quite nice. Just wasted £35 for two different meals (Fried Rice and fish and also ewa agoyin) cos I had unexpected guests. Cheap tasteless fish, and the plantain must be left overs. There's no way you can ness up plantain! Never again. Going over to nandos with my guests but this organisation needs to restrategise.

The food was nice, very good. The atmosphere was amazing and relaxing.

This review is about the takeaway part of dudu bar. I'd googled a few places in Luton for Nigerian food and this one was the closest to me at the time. I'm so glad it was! I went in about 3 weeks ago. The man at the counter was so lovely. I explained to him that my mum had missed her traditional food and wasn't really eating anymore. We had a chat about where she was from, her tribe etc. He recommended a few dishes and made her fresh stew/soup. When I went to see her with it, she was so happy. She said the food reminded her of home and she reminisced about her childhood etc (she has dementia). She ate every thing that I offered her, jollof rice, plantain, mackerel, amala. It's the first time I've seen her eat properly in months. I also had some, the food was flavourful, not too spicy, massive portions. I went back again on Friday. At this point I'm making my way through the menu with her, so far we have not been disappointed and I look forward to taking her to the restaurant one day.

My order was not delivered and my money is yet to be refunded. I need my money back immediately

The food was nice but when you say you’re doing buffet service and tell me you can only give me plates twice and being rude about it with my hard earned money then you must be a joker. The female staff needs proper customer service training. While the other male staff(didn’t get his name unfortunately) was trying to make customers happy and comfortable she was being rude. I would not recommend this restaurant and will never visit again. Terrible customer service

One of the best African foods you will ever have. I especially recommend the pounded yam with egusi soup as shown in the picture and also jollof rice. You'll love it.

I have had take out many times here and this was my first time eating in. I was very disappointed. The sauce used to cook efo riro was very undercooked and very bitter. To the point that it was not edible. I left the whole dish unfortunately as it was unpalatable and no help from the staff to rectify this. To make matters worse I only received an apology when we left and refused to pack the disgusting food for takeaway. I was embarrassed to have brought my husband here as it was his first time.

Food is so peppery I can’t eat it. Ordered for a meal in for our anniversary. Was so disappointed. Phone number is not connecting to call and let the restaurant know.

The service would have been faster if there were more waiters tending. They had only 2 waiters tending the whole restaurant on a busy weekend, making waiting time ridiculously long. Waited 1 hour and half to get served!

We love this amazing restaurant!! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We love the food too!! I was there for Mother's day and I was shocked when the lady from the restaurant bought free drinks to all the Mothers. This was such a sweet gesture!!

this is the problem with most restaurants(Nigerian) having a non Nigeria management, they become rude and poor people management. Continue with this strides and they won't last. Dudd bar luton your frontdesk staff for Thursday needs upgrading..

I am sorry to leave bad review. In the past the orders were very good but this 2 last time were very bad. First it was chewy and not very cooked and today even if I left the note the food was 1 hour late and completely bad, the sauce was very bitter and not the usual taste. I throw it again unfortunately

Ordered on deliveroo, food took over 3 hours to come, it came cold and didn’t even taste that nice. Woke up the next morning feeling very very sick

Time to getting the food ready should be reduced from 45minutes to 15-20minutes

I had a lovely late lunch. I enjoyed a delicious meal on rice, beef, coleslaw and plaintain. I found it delicious and filling. I wasnt disturbed and thoroughly enjoyed the music being played in the background.

We treated our guest to lunch, we all enjoyed our meal. Our guest were so happy we brought them to Dudu bar because the food was exceptional Staff are friendly and professional especially Mimi.

Very bad place to be, service very horrible and the tray used for the drinks was very dirty.We waited for an hour plus and the food was not served.when we asked the waiter after an hour, all she could say was we have to wait for another 30- 50mins.we than decided to cancel the order.I will not recommend this place to anyone.

I gave it one star because Dudu bar’s food quantity is out of wickedness that's why majority of its customer prefer Victoria kitchen. Dudu bar’s swallow is equivalent to none, heartless person that partition these swallows and little soup quantity. Soups taste lovely in all honesty. I often ordered via deliveroo n uber eat. I am done ordering soon they will start serving their meal to the manager n employees. Money wise service foolish.

Typical Nigerian Food in High Town

My order was INCOMPLETE. The rice and plantain were missing. And I hour late.

Food has so much oil, the plantain was not ripe, and was not well fried, the fish was buried inside oil. The extra spicy that i requested for was not added. The overral food just had soooo much oil, and its not everyone that likes too much oil. Lastly, utensils were specifically requested via the uber eats app, but it came with zero utensil.

Delicious food. Could have had more sauce as the rice can get dry. But other than that it was really tasty 😋

I collected my order. I got there at the time specified. They told menit would be an extra 15 mins when i got there. It took another 20 mins on top of that to get my food. The food itself was mainly bones and hardly any meat. Based on this, theyre over charging for food.

Food takes way too long to be served, noisy restaurant, you can’t eat in piece, not even seat down just to have a normal conversation. Food tried at the first time it was alright. Service is awful, they take long blame each other and once you’re tired and give up from waiting, they turned aggressive and rude. Never go back

Brilliant and excellent experience

I went to this restaurant and one east African lady who can't speak English ruined the evening. That lady was so rude and argues her life out . We won't be going there anymore she did same to my mum and brother on different occasions my colleagues complain as well. I wish I was served by the other slim lady. she has a better customer service compared to the other one. The rude lady couldnt even communicate properly, we kept asking what she said and asked to be served by another staff she refused. Good food good music horrible service. #sad

I’m only giving two stars because some of their meals are good but the service…HORRIBLE… they’re very unprofessional and will mix up your orders. You’d think that a restaurant that charges so much for food will focus on great service but they couldn’t be bothered, after all they’ll always be people to patronise them. Never coming back here again.

I agree with the last review! I won’t be coming here again. The waitress ( Saturday evening) needs a course or maybe a degree in customer service- very shocking behaviour. The food was nice but I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

The quality of the Luton food is good, I really enjoyed the meal the first time I went there. Service needs to be improved though especially the tat in delivery.

I don’t usually write reviews but this was so bad I had to warn other people, I ordered egusi which was pretty bland and the meat was rock hard, couldn’t even chew it, the fish was so tough it was like jerky. For £17 it was definitely not worth the price, in my opinion. Incredibly disappointed as some of the reviews were positive.

Bought food for collection and not all my food was there. Drove home and back kmt. Very disorganised. Check your orders always.

The ayamase was filled with low quality protein and a ridiculous amount of rice. The flavour was nice but it could have been better.
