Excellent meal and drinks at the Duckworth this evening. Wonderful ambience - lovely and warm on frosty evening. Thank you.

Popped in today with my mum and Dad, the pub was so busy for a Thursday afternoon we hadn’t booked but the landlord managed to accommodate us with a lovely table, from start to finish the staff really looked after us and are friendly, our meals were lovely and freshly cooked, me & mum had chicken with black pudding vegetables chips and topped with peppercorn sauce, my dad had gammon steak vegetables chips topped with a lovely egg, we will definitely be back with the family again many thanks to all of you for making us feel very happy and full 👍🏼

Had a lovely meal here today with four family members we had five different meals and every one was satisfied and enjoyed their meal, generous portions and well presented,they have a great Christmas menu which have already booked in early December

Not often do a write a review. Has to be either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Sorry to say that this one is due to an exceptionally bad experience. I’ll keep it brief. - Mother and father want to have a few beers and take a chance that there may be capacity for a roast dinner - Father is wheelchair bound being an amputee - So they trundle a few miles along a busy road to enjoy a few beers with prospect (hopefully) of a nice lunch - turns out too busy for food. Fair enough. - turns out not even room to sit anywhere… - barman offers standing at bar only? - but dad is in wheel chair - barman offers no other reasonable alternative in a pub that at that moment isn’t too busy - mum being very flustered at this point is left with very few alternatives… - extremely upset, disappointed and humiliated they turn tail and decide to leave - barman then decides to pontificate and be a nuisance making matters worse What a shocking display of customer service. Industry is supposed to be on its knees and a respected retired couple are basically ‘thrown’ out… pub having lost many £££s at this and future opportunities. My mum, two weeks on, is still extremely upset. Shame on you Duckworth Hall!

This was my first time at this venue. It is located on the coutry road connecting Accrington and Blackburn and there is ample parking. The interior is very traditional and it did have quite a stong musty odour. It is a popular eating place for seniors. Service was attentive, and took slightly longer as it was very busy for a midweek lunchtime. Portions were a respectable size and tasted fresh.

Delicous food, a very cosy little pub. We called in for lunch, we had Chicken and Black Pudding with a Peppercorn sauce which was really tasty and served on a hot plate. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We will be visiting again, may take the Husband next time

Absolutely top notch homecooked food. Went last Saturday, 21st October 2023. 3 friends. I ordered the Mince Beef and Onion Pie. Perfectly thin crispy pastry filled with the best quality minced steak and onion. More often than not, too many onions when trying this dish elsewhere. Thoroughly enjoyed. Friends ordered the small Gammon and Egg and a Chicken dish with Black Pudding. Both commented on how good the food was. Highly Recommended. 5 Stars.

I was looking for Dog Friendly places to eat on our way back from a day out and this came up BUT if you go make sure you book as only the bar area is Dog friendly, we arrived early and the whole place was empty apart from the tables in the bar area but these where taken up by other people and not a pet in sight (the staff seat you). I could understand if it was busy but it really wasn't. I have been a long while ago without the dog and the food was good. We ended up going to the Britannia up the road which i knew only the bar was dog friendly and they where great with the dogs. I just wanted to make people aware that only the bar area is dog friendly so they dont drive all the way there to be disappointed.

Just had Sunday lunch here. Had roast turkey with all the trimmings. It was delicious. Fresh veg etc. My husband has the roast beef and the Yorkshire pudding and it was excellent. Good value.. Great friendly and efficient service. Would highly recommend.

The best Sunday dinner I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious and was beautifully presented. You could tell everything was cooked from fresh and all of us there commented on this is the best Sunday dinner we have ever had.

Very friendly staff and Landlord Good selection of meals to choose from on the menu and specials board. Reasonably priced. We had cavan chicken burger, scampi and salmon, all cooked to perfection and nicely presented. Tried the sweets too, hot chocolate fudge cake and sticky toffee pudding both with icecream, yummy.

My goodness how we have.missed everyone at Duckworth Hall and wonderful to see them open again.This is a true English Inn with a good choice of drinks and excellent food. We've had family parties and weekly visits over the years always good.Working away and returning yesterday we were excited to see it open again and with a nice open air beer restaurant garden they have taken great effort to make it safe to visit. Tables are a good distance apart and staff followed all the guide lines perfectly.Food. Loved the new menu but always top of my list is the excellent fish and chips which for me is the best in Lancashire.My wife loves the Gammon which is also nice.Everything tastes just as it should PROPPER HOME COOKING, full of flavour and fresh.Drinks. We had attended a funeral at Accrington Crem and due to restrictions were unable to meet all together afterwards. My sister, brother in law, husband and myself went here. My sister had goggled the area and this came up in the top 10. On arrival we were shown to a table following guidelines. Drinks order taken and menus given. Brilliant choice of food with different plate sizes. Also a separate menu with starters and mains of the day. Everything was done quickly and efficiently. Food was lovely with a good sized portion, three of which were small ones. Staff were very attentive and polite. We will definitely go there again if we are in the area. Thank you for making what was an emotional day an enjoyable one.

Haven’t been here for a very long time but we called in at lunchtime. It was quite late and was empty but I’ve heard good reviews about it. I enjoyed my salmon, very tasty. And very fresh salad. My partner had cheese pie and chips. The pie was OK ,a bit chewy maybe but all in all a pleasant lunch. Would like to try an evening when there’s probably more ambience.

Duckworth Hall provided my mum a cooked lunch and dessert during the pandemic free of charge, we are waiting to go for a large family gathering but due to pandemic haven’t been able to go altogether but have managed to have a lovely lunch with my mum. Service was great, staff are friendly and attentive. Thank you so much for making my mums week every week during the pandemic she looked forward to this every week

Excellent covid procedures. We had two very nice courses each and Boris picked up half the tab! Except for a glass of wine. Lamb kofta starter, mains Steak & musroom pie in ale (choice of potatoes & veg) & prawn & advocado salad, & lemon & raspberry pie all excellent. Cheers - back next wk Boris!

Visited today with my husband, baby and my parents. We had booked before as requested due to the current COVID situation. One way system in place and hand gel at the entrance. Shown to our table, disposal menus provided and now it is all table service to limit people walking round. Good choice of food available, served quickly and the delicious food arrived within a good time.Very helpful and friendly staff, will definitely recommend and visit again.

Booked a table for 15 for New Year’s Day behind the bar, even rang twice to change the quantity, they said no problem. We also offered to give them our meal order prior to us coming, they said no need!! we all arrived at duckworth hall early to have a drink and settle down before our meal at 5.00pm .we asked behind the bar about our reservation and she looked blank at us saying she had no booking for 15 that night!? We told her the story that we had booked the table and even rang twice to confirm our booking and quantity, she said sorry we have no booking for your name or for a quantity of 15?I honestly think that they couldn’t cope with our numbers so they (management) cancelled our booking but didn’t tell us. It’s a disgusting and a disgrace that Duckworth hall inn could turn away customers when they have booked in September, so if you intend to go to this establishment,, MAKE SURE YOU GET IT IN WRITING, OR AN EMAIL or you’ll probably end up being disappointed and let down like us!!

We booked for 15ppl for family gathering in october in person whilst eating in the pub ,so we all arrived today to find booking hasn't even been booked ,with only a sorry ,where the hell is 15ppl on new years day supposed to go ??? Absolutly discussed not even offer of compensation if we booked another time.they have not only lost this booking but all future bookings now and all family used to go at least once a month .do not book here .we have supported this business for years to be told only sorry absolutly disgusting ,I work in the industry of catering and this is not acceptable

Booked in person back in September for 15 adults for NY day. Rang twice to add numbers and they were happy to accommodate. Turned up tonight all 15 of us and they had no booking! No apology no ownership of error. Fully booked so couldn’t stay. All went home!! Disgusted isn’t the word

Visited just before Christmas for the special Christmas dinner and we were pleasantly surprised by the whole affair as each of three courses were excellent. As we had mostly chosen different dishes from the special menu must congratulate the chef on the splendid job he did.

Visited today for first time with friends,arrived just after 12:00 had booked a table.....good job we did iv never seen a place fill up so fast once doors are opened.Extensive menu mainly home cooked style.we opted for the plate steak pie X 3 and fish and chips X 1. All food was freshly cooked red hot and presented well.deserts were again very traditional.....sticky treacle pud,x2 spotted dick x2 again excellent.Very friendly and professional service,highly recommend.....but I would reserve a table to be sure.Looking forward to a return visit already

First time here at Duckworth Hall for something to eat and was it worth it. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was the best I have ever tasted. The batter was very light and the fish was very white and flaky. Delicious. I wil be back.

Myself, daughter and daughter-in-law are regular customers at Duckworth Hall for a Saturday lunch. We occasionally try different venues but always return as whilst some are very good they never quite match up to the excellent quality of food and homely atmosphere of Duckworth Hall.

My family goes quite often to the Duckworth Hall. People of all ages eat there. On my last visit I saw everything from young families to a lady having a 90th birthday dinner with her family.. The atmosphere is calm, happy and very welcoming. The staff are very polite and always look very well groomed. The food is always so good.I recommend you try it yourself. You will not be disappointed.

This pub is a family favourite. You get good honest pub grub in a traditional atmosphere at decent prices. Can highly recommend the pies! The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. We were visiting the area and stumbled upon this pleasant pub. We had a lovely meal which was well cooked and good value for money.

On Sunday I just fancied a home made Sunday lunch without all the washing up that comes with it and my partner suggested eating here.

Absolutely brilliant food! Service was excellent, the girls work so hard and all with a smile on their faces! The portion size were more than enough, and the atmosphere were really good! I would definitely go back, and would recommend Duckworth Hall to anyone! Top food, top service

A family of 3 visited Friday 17 May. One of us had the fish chips and mushy peas. A very good sized portion, served piping hot. Very good value for the money. One had a whopping mixed grill with everything cooked perfect and I had the chicken n mushroom pie chips, peas, mashed carrots and broccoli. They said the wait was around half an hour but the food came within 20 minutes. All meals served piping hot. I’d I had just one little criticism it would be the lack of choices with desserts. I had the caramel apple pie with pouring cream, very nice. Will definitely return in the near future and would recommend.

Just had a meal to celebrate a friends 40th, I have little or no appetite but wanted to join in the celebration, at the time of ordering it was made very clear that I would be ordering from the children’s menu, I am fighting cancer. I ordered egg, chips and garden pea’s it arrived as a children’s portion, I ate only half, not because it was bad, what I did eat it was fresh and tasty.

Let us not beat about the bush . A family of 4 arrived hungry . A family of 4 left extremely satisfied and fully nourished . The end .

Traditional pub with fantastic choice of home cooked food. Cheese and onion pie was delicious. Generous portions and cooked perfectly. Friendly service and a lovely warm atmosphere.

Four of us ate here tonight. We have eaten previously on at least 3 occasions. However I am disappointed to say we shall not be returning. 3 meals were absolutely fine however one of the meals, the bacon and brie burger was very burnt. I ate half the burger and none of the bacon as it was too charred to eat comfortably and tasted burnt. When our plates were collected we complained to the young (very pleasant waitress with dark hair) who was most apologetic and said she would tell the chef. However when we came to pay the blonde girl behind the bar was very very rude. She said she had charged full for the burger because most of it had been eaten. I don't call half almost eaten and the half I did eat was awful!!! She refused to speak to us about it and totally blanked us when we tried speaking to her. She thereafter turned her back, marched out of the bar and slammed the door shut!! I have never seen such a petulant display in my entire life. Disgusting. Shame on you Duckworth Hall for employing staff with no customer care skills!

Recently returned to this eatery after new people took over and was pleasantly surprised to find that standards of food was still very good. Most of the menu Lancashire favourites and quite reasonably priced, recommend booking as we visited on a Friday evening and no spare tables.

Location great and easy to find there is parking but not plenty has an old feel to the place food all tastes home cooked

6 of us visited Duckworth Hall last Saturday lunchtime for my Mum’s Birthday and had a very enjoyable meal.

The service here is great the food is fabulous always well presented and never over facing the landlady/landlord are the best always have time for a chat very friendly and have become great friends of ours the best pub by far. We love you

Were to start , on Saturday 22nd Sept we has a family or over twenty five , went for a meal here , the atmosphere was that of a country pub , full of charm yet welcoming, we range in age from 12 years old to almost 80 , the food was awsome from starters to mains , each dish served was greeted with either that looks good or yummy , we couldn't recommend you try this establishment any more , we will absolutely be returning , value you couldn't beat .
