Drift Clifford Street in York

Good decor, Nice atmosphere, but I was so cold. Just before I left I discovered why, the window above to door was wide open. The food was delicious, as was the coffee, the tea was appalling. Try twinings! The service was slow -we even got up to get our food as we could see it, but no one was bringing it to us. The staff weren’t unfriendly exactly, but they could be friendlier, no smiles, little eye contact. Great idea poorly executed.

What a lovely place! My son and I came for a light brunch as part of his birthday day out, on the recommendation of one of his work colleagues. Really lovely, warm atmosphere, DELICIOUS food and delightful staff. India and Rosa were extremely friendly and we sat chatting for quite a while and were not disturbed or made to feel we had outstayed our welcome. They are a credit to your team. We shall DEFINITELY return. We go to York on a regular basis and it will now firmly be on our list of haunts!

Coffee was excellent! Service was really nice as well - shout out specifically to Chloe. Loved the atmosphere and decoration of the location and how quickly I was seated.

Previously had several lovely meals at the Drift Inn, with Lovely atmosphere, food & service. Full today, we were directed to Drift. Very poor service, staff totally disinterested, burger raw in the middle, sent back to be 'reheated', meagre portions, cramped tables, dirty hallway to toilets. Table next to us unhappy with cold tuna melt. Very poor, wouldn't recommend.

I waited and waited because I was unaware that one had to go to the counter. I finally ordered something and waited and waited. Meanwhile I was given a drink and a bottle of water. I couldn't get the lid off the water. I still did not get the burger and couldn't leave my seat because there was a dog in the way. I had to go somewhere else to get something to eat.

Dropped by for a spot of breakfast. Food pleasant, if a little overpriced for what you actually got. Seriously quirky atmosphere. Cafe seemed clean enough. Negatives - I suffer with asthma, extraction system in the place needs seriously improving and if you like your clothes smelling like a chip pan then this is the place for you! This place is in dire need of some nice plates to serve their breakfast on.. I dont like eating my food out of pie dishes - seriously weird and cluttered up the table - probably wouldn't return - bit too strange. I prefer a more refined experience

Gorgeous!! It was the perfect breakfast/brunch for us! The coffee was incredible the portions were generous without compromising on quality. We stayed in a large hotel chain down the road and didn't fancy spending £40 on a average breakfast buffet. Headed out to see what we would find and stumbled apon this place. Huevos rancheros for me and avocado on toast for my partner. It was absolutely spot on. Fresh, tasty and very reasonably priced. If we ever visit York again we will definitely be popping back for brekki!!

Brilliant, would absolutely recommend. Fabulous breakfast and excellent service by some of the most friendly and welcoming staff ever.

Great little cafe very close (opposite the Dungeons) milkshakes were gorgeous and good toilet! Nice friendly staff and quirky seating

Found this corner cafe as we came off our river cruise, what a Great place, staff were friendly and chatty, we ordered soft drinks, the menu has a good selection for all tastes i ordered an onion bhaji wrap hubby ordered a club sandwich, food arrived quite quick beautifully presented and the flavours were spot on really fresh both sandwiches came with a side salad and kettle crisps, we were tempted to order pancakes unfortunately we were on a time limit so didnt. Will deffinitely try and re visit before we leave our holiday This place is well worth a visit tgey cater for gluten free and vegan too.

Had coffee - it was spot on. As was the warm welcome. Menu looked inviting / lots of variety. And good looked appetising - wish I hadn’t eaten already. I could easily visit regularly and not be disappointed.

This trendy coffee shop does amazing brunch. We had poached eggs, bacon and avo. It was amazing. My partner enjoyed her smoothie as well. The coffee was a local and tasted great. Very reasonably priced too
