There are now two Chineses I will order from in Cleckheaton. This is a small family run takeaway on the main drag in Cleckheaton, it offers both collection and delivery which ever you require. It has a large menu with a lot of choice, I definitely em recommend the hot and sour soup extra hot followed by a salt pepper dish with seczhuan sauce. The prices are reasonable and would definitely recommend giving this a try.

Two out of the three meals were obviously old and inedible. Rang up to complain as we use them regularly and normally very good but won’t be using again as when I called to complain they put phone down on us.

Absolutely disgusting we’ve used this Chinese take away for years but after tonight we’ll never use them again had to return both main meals due to the chicken been un cooked and slimy and to add insult they tried short changing me with the refund

Placed order of 3 mains with side dishes (which are included or a small amount extra, which we expected as this is the case with all others) and portions of onion rings and beansprouts. Informed that it would usual 30-40 minutes. Order came with side dish of noodles, one of salt and pepper chips, but one of ordinary chips missing. This happens sometimes at other take aways, they are happy to drop missing items back off when you call! Rang straight away to be told rudely I had not ordered any (I order methodically main with side each time and extras afterwards). I informed them I had ordered them and they were missing, to be told again that I hadn't, they tried to make out I was lying. I said why would I order a main dish without a side dish, I wouldn't. Was asked to hold, then when the person came back they said they would send a portion of chips I would have to pay for and wouldn't charge the delivery cost like they were doing me a favour providing what they had missed off my just over £30 order!!!! Told them to forget it and hung up. Also told my family do not ask to order from here ever again as it won't be happening and I would never recommend them ever. This comment will be shared as widely as possible!!!

I ordered a £100+ order and they got it spot on and tasted absolutely amazing and would recommend to anyone who wants to eat Chinese. It saddly is a cash only takeout but if I don't have cash on me they will sometimes allow bank transfer.

Always go here as the food is fantastic.The prawn toast is the best ever.Fast service.Obviously some bad reviews as some people don’t know about Chinese food.Should stick to burger and chips.Well done Dragon.😃😃

We absolutely love our meals from here. We’ve tried so many Chinese restaurants in the local area and a bit further afield and we cannot get better than Dragon. The service is great, so friendly on the phone and when they are delivering. They’ve been so great during lockdown and the continuing situation with Covid-19, cannot fault them at all. Food is always piping hot and always on time, portions are massive too. You will not get better salt and pepper chicken or salt and pepper chips anywhere else. Ignore the bad reviews and at least try here if you’re thinking about it to make your own opinions. We wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks for always providing us with delicious food!

Ordered from here as we are new to the area. We tried various other take always that just didn’t hit the spot. When we ordered from here it was good value for money and very tasty. Not heavy on the stomach like some. Will definitely be ordering again.

Just finished my meal from here. The food was excellent! Clean waiting room and polite staff. I can't fault the place and will be going back again soon.

All the staff are friendly, the food is cooked to perfection, and the waiting time is spot on. This is by far the best Chinese I’ve had in a long time.

I’d give a zero if I could. Sent the wrong food again for the 3rd time and when we phoned to tell them asked us to prove it. So rude. Must of been taken over as we never had these problems before. Didn’t bring us the right food so had to eat the rubbish they’d sent us. Won’t order from here ever again for us or friends and family. Certainly won’t recommend again like we have in the past. Might only be £100 a month from us but it’ll be a lot more if the numpty on the phone carries on and the staff accuse people of being liars about what they’ve asked for when ordering. Disgraceful people

I couldn't be bothered to eat in a restaurant and didn't want to go to bed without having eaten, so I decided to try a local takeaway close to my hotel. I drove past Dragon Phoenix, liked the idea of a Chinese, and liked the idea of Beef in Black Pepper Sauce with chips for only £5.50 even better - that's an absolute bargain compared to what I pay at home. My order was taken by a cute, funny guy who suddenly appeared from under the counter. What he was doing under there was anybody's guess and he certainly made me laugh the way he did it. The food was ready quickly, and was still piping hot when I got it back to my hotel. The portions were huge, the chips were great, and there was lots of beef, onion, carrot and peppers in the main meal. They were also happy to leave the mushrooms out for me too. Problem was, the black pepper sauce was very bland and didn't actually taste of anything, which is a huge shame, because everything else was spot on.

I have on many occasions ordered a variety of chinese meals from Dragon Phoenix and always been delighted with taste, appearance, quantity, warmnest of food etc etc. My wife who partakes with their food wholeheatredly agrees with me. I know people have diiferent tastes but this takeaway suits us to a T.

Never open when they say they are, they seem to take enough money then close straight to the casino me thinks

Really lucky with two high quality takeaways around us but ever since one of them opened there restaurant their takeaway seems to have dipped somewhat, anyway having been using Dragon Pheonix lately and can have no complaints whatsoever, top quality food at decent prices, their pancake rolls are absolutely out of this world, won’t need to be swapping between the two takeaways anymore as this place just keeps getting better and better, also a 5 star hygiene rating is always reassuring.

The consistancy and quality of the food is really good. No complaints at all from us and a god selection of options plus they will do you a bespoke dish if you ask them to.

I have never had a bad meal from here the house special chowmein is superb I buy 2 one for supper one for breakfast at work, meals are always delivered on time can't fault it I've been here about 2 months and I order at least once a week to the Old Saw pub,having another tonight

Very fortunate to have two good Chinese takeaway's within a couple of miles of where I live, never had a bad meal from here, they are very polite and will cook just about anything you like even if your a bit awkward like myself, chicken in OK sauce is superb. Doesn't blow you away as a takeaway but if your stuck and need something quick then definitely worth a try

We accidently ordered from here had number stored as Chinese from previous order which we said we would never come back. Chips burnt and unedible, mixed starter was just grease and so chewy. Chicken chow mein tasted of banana?!?! Do not order from here!

Thought we'd have a Chinese for my 60th birthday, my wife's was fine, but the special curry was absolutely disgusting, just bite at the back of the throat and no flavor, the small amount of meat was bland and the so called prawns were chewier than whelks, I have garnished it with tea leaves an thrown it in the bin along with the fried rice that was just like stodge, didn't call them as I'd hate to get a replacement, I'm already feeling a bit iffy.

We have used this takeaway for over 3 years, mostly because it delivers and is reliable. The staff are polite and helpful, and the delivery is reasonably quick, sometimes very quick. The food is good, not too salty and arrives hot. Good value for monay.

We have been using this take away for about 3 years & we have always enjoyed the food. The menu is varied & the prices are very reasonable. The speed of the delivery service is real bonus & the food always arrives hot.

This takeaway is fabulous. The food is quality and they have a variety of dishes to chose from on their menu which is reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you fancy a Chinese takeaway.

You've got to try the duck in plum sauce but the food overall is great for a takeaway. Service is good and they once replaced when they or I got the order wrong. No blame given just wanted to fix so I was happy.Kids nag me for Chinese now I wouldn't go elsewhere.

I get takeaway from here.. been using this place a good 6 months now and never no complaint. Staff and delivery ppl always polite. Food is beautz never had no complaints. Vermicelli is best around. Never ordered from any other Chinese after trying dragon phoenix. Food always at your door when they state...they tell you how long when u order and it's always been on time. Overall really good takeaway and would defo recommend

Ordered a selection of dishes for delivery, which came promptly, everything hot and the prawn toasts excellent, virtually everything else seemed to have a smoky, bbq flavouring, which would be great if you liked it, but we weren't mad keen on it.

Dragon Phoenix is by far the best Chinese takeaway in Cleckheaton, and we've tried them all and always return here.The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Portion sizes are good and I'm not sure whether it's because we live within a mile or that we are fairly regular customers but delivery times are incredible! 20 minutes seems to be an average time from us putting down the phone to the knock at the door, far better than any other takeaway I've ever ordered from!!

This is by far the best Chinese around. The crispy duck and pancakes with hoisin sauce is to die for with gorgeous cooked perfectly side orders. Better still if you get a set meal for 2, 4 etc.. You get tons and you've got to try the hot and spicey soup, probably the best your ever going to get with chunks of meat in it. 5 out of 5 every time :-)
