Great place to get a takeaway, always super friendly, great food and they cater for dietary restrictions such as coeliac and salt restrictions.

Great food and I look forward to eating as soon as I smell it. I’ve been going there for years and have never been disappointed.

Use this chinese pretty regular usually fine but the curry this evening was so spicy much more than usual so couldn't eat and enjoy

Great crispy Peking duck. We also enjoyed the duck in plum sauce, prawn toast. Delivery and service was fantastic.

Very enjoyable evening meal, I had chilli and black bean King prawn which was very tasty and had a lot of lovely crispy vegetables. Excellent.

Food took 2 hours but the lady did ring and say it was going to be late, the crispy beef wasn’t nice and the noodles were full of water not a great meal the rice was nice but wouldn’t order again

Moved to the local area 6 months ago. Have now had 3 meals from here with family. Everyone was delicious, fresh and ready on time . Great portions, lots of meat and fresh veggies. Brilliant!

Fantastic quality Chinese takeaway food. Much better than our ones at home and we have more choice! Would highly recommend the duck noodle and chicken cashew specials.

First time visit - we will definitely return!! King prawn kung po far exceeded the same dish I've had from other take-aways. High quality ingredients cooked perfectly. Husband was likewise impressed with his chicken and tomato dish. Really quick and friendly service.

We had Dragon Inn recommended by a family member. Delivery was available, but as we were only 15 minutes away from Leyburn, we decided to visit. It was a pleasant drive to Leyburn. As it always is. Full covid restrictions were being strictly adhered to. We had already had a look online at the menu, so we knew what we wanted to order. At no point did I feel rushed. My order was swiftly dealt with. Following a short wait we were on our way. It has been quite a while since we have had Chinese food. Mainly due to the restrictions imposed by horrid Covid 19. The order was very tasty indeed. It was also very filling. I won't go into the minutiae of the ingredients and how they were prepared and cooked. The meal was a complete success. We will certainly be returning.

The service was prompt and friendly. We had takeaway for 4 and the price was very fair. The chicken curry was delicious and the amount of chicken extremely generous. My friends said chowmein was one of the best they've had. Very happy. Will definately use next time we are in area. Can't go wrong if the foods always this tasty.

Had some great takeaway food, the chips were the best, thick and crispy. The Chinese food is still great but the chips are frozen beefeater style, still OK but not as good as they used to be; hoping they revert back with the winter potatoes.

They only open for takeaway at the moment. Ordered chicken chow mein and it was really nicely flavoured. Not too greasy or salty. The nice lady at the counter even gave us prawn crackers on the house. Would recommend to anyone visiting leyburn.

Possible the worst Chinese in the country !!! 6 meals ordered and only two chicken curry’s where edible, just. The guy who left the review about the the satay dish is either the chef, family member or friend as this is possible the worst satay ever, certainly didn’t have any peanut “vibe” stickiness or taste. It was just a runny mess that left my arse a runny mess too. Never again.

we have had the worst food imaginable, stone cold glue rice, cold curry sauce, minus prawns and chicken. I cannot believe this meal was cooked from scratch. Phoned up to complain, meaningless apology, no offer of refund. I wouldnt have any more food. Definaely a different chef, but thaey changed so many times in the last couple of years, Its constantly poor quality Im finally done for good. Its hard to describe how anyone could produce such slop. You can see the humongous pan that has all the rice in the kitchen from the counter, so I guess its just scooped out as and when a dish is ordered.

Again sent chicken balls instead of prawn,will never use this ridiculous excuse for a restaurant again,started deliveries and still wrong,shambles of a place

Decent quality food, quite expensive for what we got. Eating as a couple, we ordered a 3 in 1 with curry sauce, chicken balls, egg fried rice, portion of chips with 2 pots of curry sauce.No where near enough curry sauce for the amount of food we had. All of this came to £15-£20 which I thought was quite expensive.We were away on a holiday and this was the local Chinese, our Chinese at home we could feed 4 people with double the amount of food for just over £25. The food tasted okay, just wish we got what we paid for.

I called here a couple of years ago and hoped it had improved. It hasn’t.I got a takeaway and it was totally uneatable.Over cooked mushy rice , tasteless grey meat , undercooked boiled prawns and a sauce I honestly couldn’t tell you what was in it apart from lots of carrots and no flavour whatsoever.I took it back to them and asked the chef to eat it. He declined

We have used The Dragon Inn, Leyburn for over 30 years and have seen owners come and go and the quality of food fluctuate. However, we decided to give it another chance and were pleasantly surprised with the meals we got....you're back in favour!I would have scored 5 but the Spring Roll starters were devoid of the shrimps that used to give them that special quality.

Authentic ambience, a calming experience and exquisite succulent Chinese food. The chicken satay sauce was simply one of the best I've ever tried, and believe me I've tried many. Sticky, thick, sweet and full of peanut vibes. The young lad who worked there did a great job and is a credit to his parents. In a world with so many Chinese restaurants, Dragon Inn keeps that level of passion that is important for our Chinese food culture in the UK. Exquisite.

Woman behind counter was beat customer service. Hope restaurant can tell u what womn was called. Had a cool Ralph Lauren cardigan on and was so so nice. Customer service is so important to me as I work in it myself and she was world class!!! Been vegetarian nearly a year and she customised my order to be vegetarian. Love the food and her. Give her a extra day holiday pay cos she made my experience xxxx.

Starters of hit n sour soup very tasty, comp crackers ok... Service hit n miss.... restaurant area clean and tidy .... Good menu reasonable prices... House curry and house chow mein... very good. All in all decent value for money

Went for a Chinese with my young daughter last night because my wife was out and she would never eat from this Chinese because she said it “is disgusting” she was not wrong! I ordered the duck wraps, it came out in a plastic container comprising of a soggy prawn cracker mixed in with the duck! The duck was very fatty and over cooked as if it had been taken off peoples plates, the sliced spring onions and I think it was cucumber smelt really off! I ordered a curry sauce and it was a lump of congealed mush, absolutely disgusting. I ordered a chicken rice and that was undercooked and hard, the peas and chicken were solid and tasteless. The ribs were also very dry and burnt. The young girl behind the counter didn’t look up once to take our order, she was chewing on Something and on her mobile answering yep to everything I said....not helpful at all!! It was so comical I was expecting Jeremy Beadle to jump out! This is positively to worst Chinese I have ever eaten!!

We had visiting relatives ,who had made a special request for Chinese food, so searched trip advisor and found Dragon Inn. We were not disappointed, but more importantly our visitors were not disappointed. The food was freshly cooked and worth the wait. The staff looked after us really well and were are going to return.

Ordered takeaway for four. Called to order but it was hard work then one main course missed off. Worst of all was the food, we all agreed it was positively the worst Chinese we’d ever had. Found it hard to identify a couple of dishes. Kung Po chicken was weak and tasteless and nothing like anything I’ve had before.There’s a Coop over the road which does a decent selection so I’d suggest going there first.

It’s a shame when you have to leave a poor review but speak as you find! The starters were good but one of the mains (duck) was dreadful! It’s a fatty meat but really it was bordering on being unpalatable! The proprietors were friendly enough but the young lady serving with long blonde hair couldn’t give a toss if we were happy or not because she was too busy on her mobile! Then when we pose the question as to what coffee was available the response we got from said person was “I don’t know cause it’s in a sachet’I think I’d give it a miss

Visited here whilst on holiday, had a takeaway on 01 August - food was really good and ready for collection within 15 minutes. Really could not fault the quality as we have many Chinese takeaways back home. You are doing a great job, thanks !

An excellent meal in pleasant surroundings. The staff were very friendly, attentive and made us feel comfortable.

We enjoyed the food here - large portion sizes and good value. Earlier reviews refer to not having drinks licence in place, but this seems to have been sorted out as serving alcohol. We were allowed to bring our dog, which meant we came twice, and will return!

While on holiday we tried this restaurant for a takeaway. Have to say we were very impressed. The crispy shredded beef was the best we have had, Szechuan chicken the same. Very large portions and we couldn’t believe the quantity of special fried rice, twice the size we get back home. Very polite lady.

Always have a good meal here and the takeaway is excellent. I particularly enjoy the duck and the chop suey.

The food was nice. Staff were friendly. Prices were reasonable. Alcohol would have been good on site but they are currently in the process of renewing their drinks licence so opted for soft drinks instead.

Called on my way home after work, was left standing for 5 minutes with nobody there to take any orders. The people in front of me had been waiting longer.

Just had take away from here, chips were a bit rough, my wife got special fried rice which had dirty prawns in and she said it was the worst she had ever had, I had salt and pepper chicken which was nice, prawn toast was ok, the okay sauce was nice. Overall I was satisfied the wife hated it.

I have eaten here several times. I will eat there again! friends who I took there recently hoovered up everything from all the various plates that we shared. Good value, generous helpings, excellent friendly service. JUST one thing to remember, not licensed, so take your own alcohol...there is a supermarket just opposite.

This is our local Chinese now that the one in hawes has closed. Although I visit quire often but just recent I have got home 10miles away to find I have not got what I ordered. Unfortunately yesterday I asked for a prawn fried rice without any veg bits in as it was for my fussy grandson, when I got it home they had given me king prawns with noodles.

Cheap and cheerful with friendly service. Horrible carpet on the stairs leading up to this upstairs room might put you off. The food was fine and a reasonable price but not the best Chinese I have had, and the beef satay was far too spicy.

We had two meals here on our stay and found them really delicious. There were always lots of people in or getting takeaways which proves how good it was.

If you put on you opening times you are open, then please stick to them. We checked the times and when we turned up they were closed. Will never use again

I suppose that we shouldn't have expected much deep in the Yorkshire Dales. We decided to go for an early evening takeaway. Spring rolls which were over cooked on the outside and marginally ok on the inside. I had a Cashew and Chicken main course with Plain rice, luckily I had some sweet and sour sauce left over to go with it. The food was tasteless, god knows what the Chicken was, it just like eating white rubber so I left it. The food left the Dragon inside me. I will NEVER go there again.

My wife and I decided to have dinner here when we were looking for something different than British pub grub (staying a week in West Burton, choices are somewhat limited nearby). We were pleasantly surprised that we got a tasty meal, with friendly—but slightly awkward—service. On a Monday night, we had the place to ourselves, had a fixed meal for two and enjoyed sharing. As noted, they do not take credit cards.

Interior design is satisfying to see with the harmonizing pastel colors with proberly the best menu book I’ve seen with fairly good amounts of dishes. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Food was out in time and delicious. Loved the mixed starter specially as it had a local brought little bird on the middle which brought a smile to my face. Got free fortune cookie and aftermints after finishing.

After some drinks in Leyburn we popped in for a chinese. We were told we couldn't pay by card on Fridays and weekends as they had problems with payments not going through so had to go draw some cash out. We were the only ones in the restaurant so the atmosphere was lacking, looked more like a take out place. Our server was new but did a good job. We had a set meal and the food was lovely! Can't fault it. We got some free prawn crackers to start and a fortune cookie at the end which was a nice gesture. Not a bad little chinese.

We had a take away from here whilst holidaying nearby, superb food and the nicest Chinese I have had in a very long time. Ample portions the duck and noodles was huge! Well recommended if nearby.

Visited twice during the last week. Warm welcome, good choice of meals in a clear menu format. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The portion sizes were large and we were offered a doggy bag if we couldn't finish everything. See you soon.

The restaurant is on the first floor and overlooking the main market place, with nearby parking. The lady who greeted us was most pleasant and took care of us throughout the visit. Service was fast and efficient and the waitress attentive. All food eaten was well cooked and tasty. Would we go again? - most certainly!

We visited here twice while staying in Carlton for the week....my little boy enjoyed the king doo chicken so much on his first visit that he really wanted to eat here again. Good service and reasonable prices. Not the smartest looking restaurant but that doesn't matter too much when the food is so good!

Staying in Leyburn for our holiday. We had a meal planned, then had a power cut! We made a swift decision to got for a chinese instead. We were made very welcome and seated straight away. The few questions we had about the menu were answered and the food ordered. What a lovely selection of dishes we had and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We even learnt a little about chinese customs from our host! My advised, don't wait for a power cut, just go when you fancy a good chinese!

Despite some of the negative comments on this premises we decided to give it a go and we're glad we did so. The staff were very welcoming and quickly sat us at our table. With our drinks and food orders taken both were delivered very quickly. Both our meals were excellent. There was a little lack of atmosphere not helped by a Sunday evening and with us being the only customers. My partner used the loo before leaving and stated they were far better than some we have used recently.

I travelled to Leyburn for something to eat for a change and parked on the main square. Me my wife and 2 kids got out the car to go into one of the pubs for a family meal but our heads where turned by the smell of Chinese food.

We have been here before, as we are staying in Harmby this week we rang in our order, house special chow mein and steak and chips, told it would be 15 minutes. We went to collect our order and was met by a very welcoming and polite young man, back at our holiday bungalow a short drive away our meal was piping hot, steak just as requested, chow mein again good, would have liked to see more water chestnut though.

Never ever have the sweet and sour balls- the batter was pappy and under cooked - quite spoiled what was otherwise a reasonable take-away. They failed to put the lid on one carton properly and hence brown goo was all over the car by the time we got home. Other than that, it was fine...not wonderful, but an adequate quick fix meal after a busy day.
