The only Chinese I visit when in Richmond, great food, dim sum is so tasty, great selection of wine, food comes out so hot. Will be back

We were staying in Richmond for a few days (which is a very nice district of Greater London by the way) and went dining there twice in two days. The food was excellent, so was the atmosphere. The second night was even better as we received a very warm and friendly welcome. The place is busy so make sure you book a table. The service is very good too. I will certainly return when I can 👌

Keep comming here and every time the food is fantastic. Ed & his team are excellent. They are friendly, considerate & efficient. One time we'd booked a party, but due to illness had to cancel, but they accommodated us and we turned the whole thing in to a delivery. They saved the day! I cannot recommend them highly enough! Absolutely love this place.

New to the area & visited for a takeout. Was really excited to try this place as reviews look fantastic! We went inside the staff were so lovely & ambience in the restaurant was buzzing on a Friday evening. We ordered a takeout, all looked great but unfortunately flavour didn’t hit the mark for me !! I eat a lot of Chinese food as my family are in the business & every single dish just wasn’t quite right. Even the spring rolls had a strange taste. Chicken black bean dish had different cuts of meat not just breast which we weren't keen on. Salt & Chilli prawns - great! It’s quite pricey for a takeout & sadly don’t think we’ll be going back as food missed the mark!!

Amazing restaurant, wonderful food, freshly made and service was attentive but subtle, ie didn't hover at the table. Very busy too so would recommend to reserve a table.

Finally, we found a good chinese restaurant in the Richmond / Twickenham area!! Varied menu with interesting dishes - General Tso's chicken was my favourite - with lots of flavour and didn't leave us feeling bloated afterwards.

Great place to dine in or a take away, owner is very friendly and listens and caters to his customers. Really nice and ambient place.

The environment is elegant and comfortable, the service attitude is friendly and polite, the meal prices are moderate, and the food quality👍😋😋😋🍻🥂

Fab food. Although we didn't have it the Sea bass looked wonderful. Yet we had a delightful meal with a generous portion of crispy duck. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Phenomenal restaurant. Chinese like not tasted before, crispy, fresh, beautifully presented. Huge choice of dishes for any diet. Atmosphere has a real buzz and usually packed out. Lovely, courteous service and owner Eddie is fantastic. Very special place. Visit if we are ever back in London.

Unfortunately, I have to complaint. We order tonight two set menus, we read good reviews and decided to try. Omg, the meat was all dry and not tasty, we had duck, chicken and beef and everything was so dry. We aren't sure how they manage to serve that. I understand that they are busy but paying 69 pounds honestly we feel this is unacceptable.... disappointing for us.

The Dragon Inn has been part of the Richmond restaurant scene for many years and is always busy even in today's financial climate. The food is delicious and always tastes freshly cooked. They have a good selection of wines and other drinks. Even though it is busy the atmosphere never gets too noisy - you can carry on a conversation without having to shout ... It is not the cheapest ... but represents good value for what it is. Be sure to book rather than turning up on the off chance.

One of the worst take aways I’ve ever had! So disappointing

I may be biased as I've been going here for 33 years. However the consistency of both service and quality of food is difficult to beat . Noticeably more expensive, but you'll never walk away disappointed. Eddie and his staff keep the place running smoothly even on the busiest of evenings.

As always a first class meal! We ordered a takeaway through Deliveroo and had a long wait time due to it being a busy Saturday night. After I ordered, the restaurant called to say they could prepare the food sooner than the Deliveroo app advised and managed to get Deliveroo to bring it forward. Not only did the restaurant call to ask if this was what we wanted but called again to re-confirm the new delivery time themselves. They recognise a regular customer and we appreciate that. This is why we come back again and again. Well done Eddie and the Dragon Inn team- great service, delicious food!

First visit with family and a friend. Very happy with both the food quality and service. Waiting times for food preparation very reasonable. The ambience music very nice, quiet and relaxing - good for eating, digestion and not hindering the conversations between us. Looking forwards for our next visit!

Portions are small. Takeaway was pre packaged and not tasty. I supposed that restaurant will send fresh meal. Probably the meal includes preservatives for increase shelve life. If i want expensive pre packaged food, there is many alternatives even includes in supermarkets or fast food chains. It was disappointment.. Thank you.

I did not like the foods at all. We ordered some soups and one pork item. Soups were full of tofu and very little amount of chicken. For the pork item it was same, full of onions amd capsicums. Literally you can count the numbers of shredded pork pieces. I was totally disappointed with the food. Expected much better with this price.

We had a wonderful meal at the Dragon Inn - the food is excellent quality, the service is second to none and the restaurant is clean with plenty of space between tables. This is a real find in Richmond and somewhere we will definitely return to! Fantastic!

The friendly and welcoming staff, excellent service as well as the food which is consistently of a high standard with fresh quality ingredients and clean flavours has kept us coming back to the Dragon Inn for over a decade Its a great family restaurant with something for everyone on the menu and we are looking forward to our next dinner there! Btw, I am pescatarian and my husband suffers from food allergies, but the Dragon Inn has always been happy to accomodate our dietary requirements.

Telephone order for collection, half hour to wait.Is it me or is Chinese takeaway getting expensive? I know we ordered more than enough but £45?The food was good though, although I also think that the portions are getting smaller as well? Perhaps it’s just me.Satisfied with meal and service though, will use again.

Great Food, Great Service And A Homely Environment

I live close by, but the first time I have visited. Absolutely lovely, authentic chinese food. The food is presented well, nice colours, great aroma, not too oily and a nice depth of flavour. I love ho fun rice noodles and the special noodle dish was superb, with a rich sauce and a good amount of char siu, chicken, prawn and veg. The kung po was really nice, not too spicy (kids loved it).I have travelled to China a number of times on business for weeks at a time through different regions, eating out 2-3 times a day at good quality restaurants with 20+ dishes at the table, so I would like to think I have a seasoned enough palate to recognise authentic and good quality chinese food.This has to be the best Chinese restaurant in Richmond Upon Thames and I will be back on a regular basis and looking forward to eating many of the seafood and fish dishes.

The Dragon Inn is our local Chinese Restaurant. We have been dining here since 2007. The staff is super friendly. It’s a family run restaurant which really gives it a personal touch. The food is very authentic and very tasty. We have lived in Asia for a long time so we do believe to know what authentic Chinese food should taste like. Love the Peking duck! One of the criterias when we moved house was to be close to the Dragon Inn.

Best Chinese for miles. There really is something for everyone. It’s Chinese fine dining, delicate, fresh, subtle. Very unique. Lovely owners & staff. Hope to eat in again soon 😊

Just had a really lovely meal at The Dragon Inn. The food was delicious. The staff were very attentive and polite and i will most certainly be booking again.

Ordered a takeaway tonight. Very disappointing. Very small portions. Overpriced for what it was. The fried rice was just boiled or steamed rice tossed with a big of spring onion and miniscule bits of egg. Totally white. Won't order from here again. For a bit more we can get much better food and better portions from another local takeaway in Barnes.

Ordered deliveroo, both our noodles were completely tasteless. Had to add soy to give even a hint of something. Disgraceful charging £10 for a portion of bland noodles.

Can’t fault it! The most delicious food and the best service. I’ve eaten there many times and it’s always great. During lockdown I ordered a takeout (top tip - collection is available later than deliveroo) and they were so wonderful we arrived early and were waiting in the car outside they noticed and told us they’d bring the food out, offered to put it in the back of the car so we could maintain distance. The food was still as wonderful when we got it home.

My family and I have been coming here for years, the food is second to none and Eddie (the owner) is always going out of his way to make your visit lovely. I recently celebrated a birthday in lockdown, and Eddie made a special effort to help with a large takeaway order and the food was remarkable as always! 10/10 would recommend!!!

So thrilled to find this! I hadn't eaten Chinese in so long as I don't eat meat and am fed up of finding chicken stock in veg dishes and even in fish ones. This one is 'clean' meaning the stick matches the dishes so veg for veg and so on. It is always piping hot and really tasty. The prawn lemongrass dish is outstanding.

To treat ourselves, we ordered from Dragon Inn via Deliveroo last night. We are great fans of Chinese food; I hadn't eaten at the Dragon Inn for years but the reviews were very promising.What a dreadful experience it was - every dish was ghastly. The prawn toast was saturated in fat, the rice and noodles were tasteless and the sizzling Mandarin beef was overcooked and covered in gloopy sugary sauce. The meal for three diners was expensive. Nothing to tempt me to give it another chance.

In town visiting a friend and it’s been a while since I’d eaten chinese. I couldn’t have asked for a better restaurant to tantalise my tastebuds to this cuisine. Starting with a warm welcome, the service is attentive and the owner Eddy goes out of his way to see you get a good experience. The menu is very varied and was hard not to choose all of it. We had a good selection and the food quality is of a very high standard worthy of the price. An excellent restaurant and would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area. The Dragon Inn has been my favourite restaurant since I was literally in a basket on the floor. Year after year it continues to be excellent. Our large family have many different dietary requirements, including allergies, and Eddie is amazing at suggesting the best dishes, altering others and creating whole new items to mimic what we can’t have. After going vegan, Eddie makes sure I don’t miss out on duck pancakes and suggested a meat free version which I love! The whole staff go above and beyond. P.S. get the dark chocolate sorbet with mango sorbet. Even if you’re full. It’s insanely good.

The dishes are very authentic and value for money. It may be slightly on the expensive side, but it is worth it. Very cosy atmosphere and service is second to none.

Food, service and deco very good. Not cheap but price OK. However atmosphere ruined by noisy badly behaved overtired toddlers whose parents seemed oblivious of their behaviour and other diners. Not the fault of the restaurant, it's an all to common fact of modern life!

This place is simply amazing! The food is brilliant - the crispy duck is an absolute must every time we go and the crispy lettuce wrap chicken, vegetarian dumplings in chilli sauce, and the aubergine are also fantastic. Everything we have ever ordered has been so lovely! The portions are very generous too - we always end up taking away some of the food. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity you are getting. The service is also great - quick and personal. The staff really care (both about the customers and the food they serve) and nothing is too much trouble. If there is any downside to this place, it is that you need a reservation most of the time, but it is totally worth it and you will not be disappointed.

Have now been a few times and the experience, ambience, customer service is outstanding. One of my children can’t have gluten and Eddy knew exactly what he could have and went out of his way to provide the right food. If only other restaurants shared the same knowledge and understanding when it comes to allergies.

Visited this restaurant for the 1st time for a 72nd birthday. We had our starters (weren't anything special) and were remembering family members who are no longer with us.As expected we were laughing and having a lovely family get together, when the waiter/ proprierter Eddie came to the table to ask us to keep the noise down, he then said other customers had complained. When we asked which customers he denied saying it and was rude. Would not recommend.

Went to this restaurant last week for my 72nd birthday with my family, bad mistake, before we had even finished our 1st course waiter Eddie approached my Daughter and asked her if we would keep the noise down. Bearing in mind we were there for a birthday not a prayer meeting, I decided that we would walk out immediately and go elsewhere that had a much more relaxed atmosphere, which of course is what we did.

This restaurant is very popular (book ahead) for good reason. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our meal and will add it to our list of regular local haunts. They offer Deliveroo too, but I'd recommend dining in, the food tastes that bit better and the service is charming.

Eddie has run this lovely Chineses restaurant for over 25 years. The food is good quality and the ambiance is on point for a late aupper with family.

First time to the Dragon Inn, we took our kids aged 7 & 9. Customer service was excellent, the food was outstanding and my kids tried everything from prawns in lemongrass & garlic to crispy duck pancakes and loved all of it.

We always enjoy visiting this restaurant. The food is first class as is the service. This is the only place I will eat tofu. Do try the spicy tofu starter. The wine list is extensive and excellent.
