The only thing I can fault is the wait... Food was fantastic

Food was great, unfortunately the time I had to wait wasn't. Called just after 6 was told to collect at 7-10.... Fair enough. When I arrived about 7-05 there were maybe a dozen disgruntled customers waiting for their food. 30 to 40 minutes wait from collection time seemed to be the norm. Staff were apologetic, and trying to calm things, but the reason they gave (card machine not working) didn't make sense to me. Think my food was 20 minutes late, not the end of the world but a bit annoying. Really enjoyed the food, I just wish they would give accurate collection times. Maybe they were having a bad night, although the people waiting said it was a regular thing.

Food was piping hot and tasty. Only negative would be the portion size. I wish the chicken Cantonese was bigger

We had a fantastic meal. When it comes was hot but still ok. One of the lids was broken but thankfully the broken peace was not in are meal. Will order from here again next time we visit.

Unfortunately very big disappointment. Carry so spicy you burn your mouth, chicken on sticks hasn't been spicy in any other Chinese but these was very spicy .chicken in orange sauce are separate so the chicken is very dry and adding sauce is not making any better. Only thing was was good is sweet sour balls of chicken and spring rolls...paid 35 pound and very devastated. Unfortunately definitely not the place to order again

Amazing takeaway. After the living in boston for over 2 years, we had struggled to find a good chinese takeaway until we came across dragon garden. Food is amazing, always delivered within the specified time they give. It's just a shame it took me 2 years to find this place. We now have a regular chinese once a month from dragon garden and it's always amazing 👏

Just a Takeway Now and a VERY POOR ONE at that. Ordered at 5.30pm was told to come at 7.20pm. I waited with a vast crowd of people who all Ordered before me and EVENTUALLY GOT MY ORDER AT 8pm. All the food wasnt freshly cooked and the Cantonese sweet and sour chicken missed the chicken pot and was like a childs portion. The meal wrecked the evening and my house guests were not impressed. WANTED TO POST THE SWEET AND SOUR BACK THROUGH THEIR LETTER BOX I WAS SO DISGUSTED! FIRST AND LAST VISIT FROM ME AND ANY OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS!

Just grabbed what we thought would be a nice chinese for dinner.. what a disappointment 😞 chicken chow mean, sweet and sour chicken balls and egg fried rice.... it was disgusting 🫣 everything had been pre-cooked and re-cooked when ordered. Owner adamant that everything is cooked fresh to order... no way was it fresh,it was inedible... went straight in the bin!! Definitely won't be using this place ever again!!!!

We used to order from Dragon Garden on a regular basis but had a bad meal, tonight we thought let’s try the food again and see if things had changed, really disappointed, in fact this time I thought it was worse, ended up throwing it in the bin, not happy

Thought we give this place a try! Husband ordered pork balls like he has at our regular Chinese, he was nearly sick ...pieces of pork sausage meat rolled into balls dipped in batter and fried. NEVER AGAIN

BE WARNED - NOT A GOOD REVIEW!!!Phoned in an order at 6pm. Was told to come pick up at 7.30pm - an hour and a half wait! Didn't have much choice so gave the order in. Turned up just after 7.30pm after having difficulty parking outside - be warned, a very narrow street, people park in the turn around point!! Got inside, gave name to pick up food, she couldn't find it!! Checked the receipts again and found it this time! Paid for the food and asked if it was ready as she went to walk off! She said we'd have to wait with everyone else in there so it could be a while!! Some were in here for nearly an hour despite phoning!! I was confused and said we'd phoned an hour and half ago, and was told to come at this time!! It turns out from other customers in there that they only start cooking the food when you've come in and paid!!! Why didn't they say that on the phone?! Why not take payment on the phone?! I've never had a business do this EVER!! We'd have just come at 6pm and ordered and paid then!!! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Really good food, at an average price for boston. this was my first time going there and the staff were friendly and efficient from walk-in. seems to be a family owned business so they are doing very well managing it all, and the menu had easy visibility which is always a bonus. large portions which means we have leftovers for lunch tomorrow and very nice authentic scenery. will be going back soon. this place also takes card, while others don’t. thank you so much dragon garden!

We ordered at 5pm and were told delivery would be approx one hour. TWO hours later called again to be told that the driver had just left. Finally arrived after a further 30 minutes. Food could have been warmer and better. But the real issue is being lied to about delivery. It is situated about half a mile away from us. No apology either. Will not be using them again!

7/10 wasn't too bad , crunchy chicken balls which I don't mind , perfume taste in the chicken curry ,, all in all better than most in boston .

Rude customer service. Lady at front tried to confirm my order when asked on a cracked phone line to confirm what was placed she rudely replied with "I wouldn't send you sweet and sour pork when you've asked for Roast Pork. Look Lady your phone line sucks and so does your customer service. Last time we ll be ordering.

This is our go to Chinese, it’s worth the long wait time definitely, it’s a shame they can never be honest about the wait time though, it’s early always at least an hour later than the time they give on ordering. Very very tasty good food if you can stick out the wait

Have been using this place for a number of years and always been pleased. However, went there on 29-01-2022 to collect a meal scheduled for collection at 20.10 only to be told that there was a slight delay. Meal was eventually ready at 20.50. There were loads of people waiting for their meals which were all late. The layout of the place has changed, none of the staff seemed familiar, and the food portions are smaller, all of which appears to indicate that the place may have changed hands.

After waiting 2 hours for delivery they forgot to include the egg fried rice which made the meal pretty pointless. They then delivered the rice half hour later after we had eaten the initial delivery which again was pretty pointless. I left a comment on their Facebook page which was removed immediately? I do not think we will bother again.

Best Chinese in town, so much flavour and not salty or greasy. You get plenty as well. It does get busy (which just shows how nice it is..) so usually faster to collect rather than have delivered. Parking can be a nightmare if wanting to park right outside on a busy weekend, best to look on Nelson way or high st/London road for a space and walk a minute down the road which is no hassle. Don't let the interior put you off the quality of the food!

Handle large orders made in advance well. Food ready om ti,e and as ordered. Great.

First time we have ordered for delivery, well superb food. We have moved into Boston from down south and this is an awesome Chinese takeaway. Food was full of flavour, crunchy veg in the stir-fry, Chicken satay skewers were very good and the delivery really sound. We have found our Chinese takeaway. I try to leave reviews for small business as we run one too. It matters, top marks. Did mention the portions are very decent.

Having tried six different takeaway Chinese food outlets this one Is now our regular food is fresh tasty and potions are good value for money I won't go elsewhere now

went and fetched my takeaway tonite and could not fault the quantity or the quality of the food.. i had the set menu meal for 1 person and also ordered chicken chow mein,chips and battered spare ribs.. every mouthfull was awesome.. will definately be using dragon garden going forward!!

DONT GO HERE! Longest I've ever had to wait for a delivery, Amazon are quicker. Ordered food at 6pm and was told an hour and a half, which was long but reasonable. After 2 hours I called to check on progress, and with no apology whatsoever was told 10 minutes more. 20 minutes later it finally arrives... so a 2 and a half hour wait on a Wednesday and I was only half a mile away. Why make up stories? If I'd known the truth I would have just gone elsewhere, and I wish I had as the food wasn't even good. My crispy beef was luke warm, had hardly any sauce and I almost broke a tooth on it. Stay away!

Apart from waiting at the restaurant which was busy (good sign ) The food was great . We had crispy duck and pancakes. Orange flavoured chicken, beef in black bean sauce and rice.

Phoned order through at 18:30 yesterday told to pickup at 19:25 eventually got the food at 20:30, when we arrived there were 11 customers in front of us that had been waiting for over 30 minutes. Absolutely rediculous wait could of cooked ourselves in less time than waiting. Food was OK.

Moved to Boston a year ago, have tried every Chinese takeaway in town, and was beginning to lose hope, but Dragon Garden, WOW! Delicious, and great value for money.

I ordered, in person at the restaurant, Chinese for 4, a total of 12 dishes. They were busy, there was a constant stream of people going in and out. As you do these days, I waited in the car for the order to be brought out. It took longer than I expected but, in fairness, watching the staff come out with orders & go to other cars, most of the orders were large. Very few were just a couple of dishes, most were in the ‘two full bags” range with some being three full bags or a box. Given that dishes are cooked to order and that they were very busy the wait wasn’t unreasonable. When we finally sat down with our meal it was worth the wait. This is our favourite Chinese and they haven’t disappointed yet.

Ordered a meal for the Saturday night at 7pm it arrived 2 hours late even though I ordered 24hours earlier. Why not say it would be late

Although they said the delivery would take an hour to an hour and a half, it came in less time than that (in under an hour). When the food arrived I was hit with amazing smells. Their special chowmein smells great and is so tasty. They have nailed it with their beef curry, which is not like chewing gum like other beef curry I have had from another Chinese restaurant. The sauce from their beef curry tastes so good. Their salt and pepper chicken smells and tastes good. The only think I didn't like was the Cantonese style chicken, and their chicken ball sauce I've had on overall pleasant experience from ordering from this Chinese restaurant for the first time.

the lady on the phone is very nice and polite and i really like her and feel like i could become good close friends with her cause she agree's with me about full fat coca cola compared to diet coca cola and i had a good laugh with her and the deliver was very nice and polite and well respectful and the delivery time was spot on with what i was told but the food was not freshly cooked and was food that has been there for a long time and wasn't nice at all and we didn't enjoy the food at all unfortunately but the drink was absolutely amazing but i most certainly won't be ever ordering from here ever again i'm so disappointed about that for sure. could the lady on the phone let me know about weather she would like to become friends with me or not?

Ordered a meal 24 hours in advance during delivery for 6pm. Called at 6.30 to be told sorry for your wait it's in its way. At 7om called again to be told its the next one to leave. Why say it's on the way when it clearly has not left.

Waited 3 and a half hours for food. Refused to pay full price and got a text message to say not to use them again! With absolute pleasure.

Burn’t and disgusting - Unfortunately I have to agree with these earlier comments so something must have changed in the kitchen since our last visit in August. I managed to get through on Sat 7th Nov picked up our order but the Crispy chilli beef and beef chow mein items were badly burnt. I contacted them back and Raymond agreed to replace them so I was really pleased he had understood that problems can happen in a busy kitchen. When I got back home I opened up the replacement dishes and it was exactly the same burnt and horrible, really disappointed so I won’t be going back.

Food is spot on. prices are reasonable.......get in early for phone orders as it is always very very busy

This used to be our favourite chinese, however the last time we ordered we waited 2 and a half hours, the order came and it was wrong. I rang and they were happy to change it, half an hour later came with the correct items but took our wrong order back after we had touched it and opened it! (didn’t think this was great in the middle of COVID). Tonight we thought we would give them another chance, we waited over 2 hours, and I can honestly say it was the worst chinese I have ever tasted. The chow mein was burnt, and I mean burnt! I had one mouthful and binned it, the sweet and sour was cold, the chicken balls were mush and everything about it was dreadful! Definitely won’t be returning at all ❌❌❌

My kids wanted a chinese for tea so I said how good these are! Well what a disappointing the noodles was burnt they was vile I rang them back up and she said that’s what they should taste like!!! No I’ve had them from other chineses and these are disgusting, won’t be coming back here again

We were staying at a hotel in Boston, and had our food delivered. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. My husband said that it was the best Chinese food that he's eaten, in ages. Highly recommended.

The lady who took my order was very friendly and she warned me of the long wait which was fine. When it arrived it all looked good but the chow mein didnt smell great. When i tried it, it tasted really burnt. The chicken balls were average, nothing special and quite greasy. The chicken curry and the rice were both really lovely. I called up to complain and the person on the phone asked if i’d ever had chow mein from them before, this was my first ever order from them. I strongly believe chow mein is a staple dish for any Chinese restaurant and no matter where i have eaten i have always had chow mein and that was the worst chow mein i have tried and felt a little bit insulted when asked have you tried our chow mein before like its supposed to taste burnt. I was offered a refund on my next order but i will not be ordering again. I explained this and said I wanted a refund straight away and they delivered a refund a few hours later which was fine. The delivery guy was very polite and friendly. Overall it was an average take away but i wont be going back

Best chinese I've found up here an we've tried a few. People are nice and friendly food is always good, sometimes i think i get a difderent cook on, coz the chicken balls are a bit more crunchier on some occasions. Sometimes they are so busy with orders you have to call early but even if its a hour wait or longer I'd still wait for them. Very good especially like the chicken balls an beef curry but everything tastes good. Highly recommend. Thanks

One star because had to leave something, food burnt, rang to complain and manager very rude, was offered discount but would never use again, had bad food from another Chinese in town but to be honest rates far above dragon garden, when I rang they didn't know what to say and put the phone down on me after a while, but they did basically say the food couldn't have been burnt, read the reviews on here and thought the bad few must be wrong and just down to individual taste, but after paying high prices realise they possibly paid for good reviews, it was awful

Great friendly people. Brought food out to car as I just went in and ordered took about 13 minutes - so all good. Busy place. Asked if I could take some pics... So the food - 2nd best pancake roll ever. Hot and sour soup - 4th best. Duck 2nd best. King prawn fried rice - not so good lots of prawns but wasn't too mad on the rice. If I could have rated using . s - I would overall give it 4.65. Good price threw in prawn crackers too 19.70 soup was large pot too and well stacked with meat and veg etc

We had our first takeaway from here last night and I must say it was by far the most enjoyable Chinese meal we have had, the delivery was very fast and in the time frame they told it would be. We will definitely be using them again Steve S

We have ordered from these guys several times now, and I must say one of the tastiest Chinese meals I have ever had. However they are far from fast food! If you order for a certain time, you will have to wait when you go pick it up, and we have waited over 2 hours for delivery. But the food quality is on point, every dish we have ordered so far (and we are steadily going through the menu) has been amazing! I highly recommend if you have patience.

I have visited this restaurant for take away more or less weekly for over 14 years and never had to complain. I had heard of the bad customer service, but meals have always been good, so I never experienced what people had said UNTIL NOW. They have seen my son grow from toddler to man, seen my ups and downs. and on average I buy take out for 2 - 6 people without a hitch. Today this one day a dish was missing from the order. so on my next visit, I ordered and paid as usual and thought to mention it, the girl behind the counter shrugged. so I spoke to the owner. I never asked for a replacement, or refund, but thought it would be useful information. I guess I would get a thank you? NO I was ACCUSED of trying to fraudulently get a FREE MEAL! and that if she gave me one, then everyone would think Dragon garden a "soft touch" She then pretended to not know me stating she has hundreds of customers! I cannot believe this and it hurt me to the core. I see now why people are going elsewhere if this is how they react if someone dares to mention something is wrong. Sorry after all this time. I am now going elsewhere. Yes the food is good, BUT the ONE TIME I had cause to complain, the last thing I expected was to be branded a fraudster after a free meal!!

It was the first time we have ordered food from the Dragon garden but we were not disappointed, the food was excellent, we will definitely recommend it .

Always had great food and service from here so ordered a meal at 6pm and was told to collect at 7.15pm. On arrival and after paying was told they are running 20 mins behind which was disappointing but they was busy. After the first 20 min went to enquire where food was and was told another 20 mins. I dont find this acceptable as everyone waiting had all been there over 1hour. What is the point of ordering in advance when it makes no difference? Will be reluctant to use again and will look elsewhere for another chinese restaurant.

We've used the take-away service many times and always collected, so can't comment on delivery. Never had a meal that wasn't excellent so would thoroughly recommend it.

Always had excellent take away from here. Service is great, but expect up to an hour for delivery at the weekend, as they are REALLY popular, so get very busy.
